The quickest path problem is related to the classical shortest path problem, but its objective function concerns the transmission time of a given amount of data throughout a path, which involves both cost and capacity. The K-quickest simple paths problem generalises the latter, by looking for a given number K of simple paths in non-decreasing order of transmission time. Two categories of algorithms are known for ranking simple paths according to the transmission time. One is the adaptation of deviation algorithms for ranking shortest simple paths (Pascoal et al. in Comput. Oper. Res. 32(3):509–520, 2005; Rosen et al. in Comput. Oper. Res. 18(6):571–584, 1991), and another is based on ranking shortest simple paths in a sequence of networks with fixed capacity lower bounds (Chen in Inf. Process. Lett. 50:89–92, 1994), and afterwards selecting the K quickest ones. After reviewing the quickest path and the K-quickest simple paths problems we describe a recent algorithm for ranking quickest simple paths (Pascoal et al. in Ann. Oper. Res. 147(1):5–21, 2006). This is a lazy version of Chen’s algorithm, able to interchange the calculation of new simple paths and the output of each k-quickest simple path. Finally, the described algorithm is computationally compared to its former version, as well as to deviation algorithms.   相似文献

We propose the first algorithmic approach which reoptimizes the shortest paths when any subset of arcs of the input graph is affected by a change of the costs, which can be either lower or higher than the old ones. This situation is more general than the ones addressed in the literature so far. We analyze the worst-case time complexity of the algorithm as a function of both the input size and the overall cost perturbation, and discuss cases for which the proposed reoptimization method theoretically outperforms the approach of applying a standard shortest path algorithm after the change of the arc costs.  相似文献

Shortest paths algorithms: Theory and experimental evaluation   总被引:40,自引:0,他引:40  
We conduct an extensive computational study of shortest paths algorithms, including some very recent algorithms. We also suggest new algorithms motivated by the experimental results and prove interesting theoretical results suggested by the experimental data. Our computational study is based on several natural problem classes which identify strengths and weaknesses of various algorithms. These problem classes and algorithm implementations form an environment for testing the performance of shortest paths algorithms. The interaction between the experimental evaluation of algorithm behavior and the theoretical analysis of algorithm performance plays an important role in our research. We consider a variant of the constrained shortest path problem, where the constraints come from a set of forbidden paths (arc sequences) that cannot be part of any feasible solution. Two solution approaches are proposed for this variant. The first uses Aho and Corasick's keyword matching algorithm to filter paths produced by a k-shortest paths algorithm. The second generalizes Martins' deviation path approach for the k-shortest paths problem by merging the original graph with a state graph derived from Aho and Corasick's algorithm. Like Martins' approach, the second method amounts to a polynomial reduction of the shortest path problem with forbidden paths to a classic shortest path problem. Its significant advantage over the first approach is that it allows considering forbidden paths in more general shortest path problems such as the shortest path problem with resource constraints.  相似文献

A network with its arc lengths as imprecise number, instead of a real number, namely, interval number and triangular fuzzy number is considered here. Existing ideas on addition and comparison between two imprecise numbers of same type are introduced. To obtain a fuzzy shortest path from a source vertex to all other vertices, a common algorithm is developed which works well on both types of imprecise numbers under consideration. In the proposed algorithm, a decision-maker is to negotiate with the obtained fuzzy shortest paths according to his/her view only when the means are same but the widths are different of the obtained paths. Otherwise, a fuzzy optimal path is obtained to which the decision-maker always satisfies with different grades of satisfaction. All pairs fuzzy shortest paths can be found by repeated use of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

In this paper an algorithm is presented for determining the K best paths that may contain cycles in a directed network.The basic idea behind the algorithm is quite simple. Once the best path has been determined it is excluded from the network in such a way that no new path is formed and no more paths are excluded. This step leads to an enlarged network where all the paths, but the best one, can be determined. The method is repeated until the desired paths have been computed.The proposed algorithm can be used not only for the classical K shortest paths problem but also for ranking paths under a nonlinear objective function, provided that an algorithm to determine the best path exists.Computational results are presented and comparisons with other approaches for the classical problem are made.  相似文献

This paper addresses the elementary shortest path problem with forbidden paths. The main aim is to find the shortest paths from a single origin node to every other node of a directed graph, such that the solution does not contain any path belonging to a given set (i.e., the forbidden set). It is imposed that no cycle can be included in the solution. The problem at hand is formulated as a particular instance of the shortest path problem with resource constraints and two different solution approaches are defined and implemented. One is a Branch & Bound based algorithm, the other is a dynamic programming approach. Different versions of the proposed solution strategies are developed and tested on a large set of test problems.  相似文献

This paper considers the inverse shortest paths problem where arc costs are subject to correlation constraints. The motivation for this research arises from applications in traffic modelling and seismic tomography. A new method is proposed for solving this class of problems. It is constructed as a generalization of the algorithm presented in Burton and Toint (Mathematical Programming 53, 1992) for uncorrelated inverse shortest paths. In this paper, we survey fully dynamic algorithms for path problems on general directed graphs. In particular, we consider two fundamental problems: dynamic transitive closure and dynamic shortest paths. Although research on these problems spans over more than three decades, in the last couple of years many novel algorithmic techniques have been proposed. In this survey, we will make a special effort to abstract some combinatorial and algebraic properties, and some common data-structural tools that are at the base of those techniques. This will help us try to present some of the newest results in a unifying framework so that they can be better understood and deployed also by non-specialists.  相似文献

Multicriteria shortest path problems have not been treated intensively in the specialized literature, despite their potential applications. In fact, a single objective function may not be sufficient to characterize a practical problem completely. For instance, in a road network several parameters (as time, cost, distance, etc.) can be assigned to each arc. Clearly, the shortest path may be too expensive to be used. Nevertheless the decision-maker must be able to choose some solution, possibly not the best for all the criteria.In this paper we present two algorithms for this problem. One of them is an immediate generalization of the multiple labelling scheme algorithm of Hansen for the bicriteria case. Based on this algorithm, it is proved that any pair of nondominated paths can be connected by nondominated paths. This result is the support of an algorithm that can be viewed as a variant of the simplex method used in continuous linear multiobjective programming. A small example is presented for both algorithms.  相似文献

提出了基于最短路动态生成的一种新的非平衡交通分配迭代算法.在每轮迭代中,将按全有全无方法在当前最短路上分配的交通量与前一轮迭代所得到的交通量加权组合,而各O-D对的加权系数则依据Logit原则来确定.和Frank-Wolfe算法不同,不必通过一维搜索确定加权系数.同时又避免了Logit方法要求枚举所有路径的困难.本文还证明了算法的收敛性,而计算实例显示,由本算法所得结果与平衡交通分配非常接近,因而它是一个高效而可靠的交通分配算法,适用于大、中型道路交通网络的交通分配计算.  相似文献

This paper develops an efficient algorithm for the computation of the shortest paths between given sets of points (origins and destinations) in the plane, when these paths are constrained not to cross any of a finite set of polygonal (open or closed) barriers. It is proved that when distances are measured by an 1p - norm with 1 < p < ∞, these paths are formed by sequences straight line segments whose intermediate (e.g. apart from origin and destination) end points are barrier vertices. Moreover, only segments that locally support the barriers to which their end points belong are elligible for inclusion in a shortest path. The special case of one origin and one destination is considered, as well as the more general case of many origins and destinations. If n is the number of nodes (origins, destinations and barrier vertices), an algorithm is presented that builds that network of all shortest paths in O(n2 log n) time. If the total number of edges in this network is e (bounded by n2), the application of Dijkstra's algorithm enables this computation of the shortest paths from any origin to all destinations in O(e log n) time. If the origins, shortest paths from all origins to all destinations can thus be found in O(ne log n) ≤ O(n3 log n) time.It is also shown that optimal solutions when distances are measured according to the rectilinear or max-norm (i.e. lp-norm with p = 1 or p = ∞) can be deduced from the results of the algorithm.  相似文献

The shortest-paths problem is a fundamental problem in graph theory and finds diverse applications in various fields. This is why shortest path algorithms have been designed more thoroughly than any other algorithm in graph theory. A large number of optimization problems are mathematically equivalent to the problem of finding shortest paths in a graph. The shortest-path between a pair of vertices is defined as the path with shortest length between the pair of vertices. The shortest path from one vertex to another often gives the best way to route a message between the vertices. This paper presents anO(n 2) time sequential algorithm and anO(n 2/p+logn) time parallel algorithm on EREW PRAM model for solving all pairs shortest paths problem on circular-arc graphs, wherep andn represent respectively the number of processors and the number of vertices of the circular-arc graph.  相似文献

We suggest the first strongly subexponential and purely combinatorial algorithm for solving the mean payoff games problem. It is based on iteratively improving the longest shortest distances to a sink in a possibly cyclic directed graph.We identify a new “controlled” version of the shortest paths problem. By selecting exactly one outgoing edge in each of the controlled vertices we want to make the shortest distances from all vertices to the unique sink as long as possible. The decision version of the problem (whether the shortest distance from a given vertex can be made bigger than a given bound?) belongs to the complexity class NP∩CONP. Mean payoff games are easily reducible to this problem. We suggest an algorithm for computing longest shortest paths. Player MAX selects a strategy (one edge from each controlled vertex) and player MIN responds by evaluating shortest paths to the sink in the remaining graph. Then MAX locally changes choices in controlled vertices looking at attractive switches that seem to increase shortest paths lengths (under the current evaluation). We show that this is a monotonic strategy improvement, and every locally optimal strategy is globally optimal. This allows us to construct a randomized algorithm of complexity , which is simultaneously pseudopolynomial (W is the maximal absolute edge weight) and subexponential in the number of vertices n. All previous algorithms for mean payoff games were either exponential or pseudopolynomial (which is purely exponential for exponentially large edge weights).  相似文献

在最短路修复合作博弈中,当灾后运输网络规模较大时,最优成本分摊问题难以直接求解。基于拉格朗日松弛理论,提出了一种最短路修复合作博弈成本分摊算法。该算法将最短路修复合作博弈分解为两个具有特殊结构的子博弈,进而利用两个子博弈的结构特性,可以{高效地}求解出二者的最优成本分摊,将这两个成本分摊相加,可以获得原博弈的一个近乎最优的稳定成本分摊。结果部分既包含运输网络的随机仿真,也包含玉树地震灾区的现实模拟,无论数据来源于仿真还是现实,该算法都能在短时间内为最短路修复合作博弈提供稳定的成本分摊方案。  相似文献
