The first part is devoted to a presentation of specific features of noninvertible maps with respect to the invertible ones. When embedded into a three-dimensional invertible map, the specific dynamical features of a plane noninvertible map are the germ of the three-dimensional dynamics, at least for sufficiently small absolute values of the embedding parameter. The form of the paper, as well as its contents, is approached from a non abstract point of view, in an elementary form from a simple class of examples.  相似文献

It is demonstrated that the hyperspace of at most (n+1)-point sets has a Vietoris continuous selection if both the hyperspace of at most n-point sets and that of exactly (n+1)-point sets have Vietoris continuous selections. This result is applied to demonstrate that the hyperspace of at most (2n+2)-point sets has a Vietoris continuous selection provided that one of at most (2n+1)-point sets has such a selection. In response to questions of Ginsburg [9, 10], we prove that if cf(c)>ω1, then there exists an open-closed, continuous map f from a normal, realcompact space X onto a space Y which is not realcompact. By his result the hyperspace 2x of closed subsets of X is then not realcompact, and the extension μf(vf) of f to the topological completion (the Hewitt realcompactification) of X is not onto. The latter fact solves problems raised by Morita [16] and by Isiwata [12] both negatively. We also consider the problem whether or not the hyperspace of a hereditarily Lindelöf space is hereditarily realcompact.  相似文献

Given a substitution σ ond letters, we define itsk-dimensional extension,E k (σ), for 0≤kd. Thek-dimensional extension acts on the set ofk-dimensional faces of unit cubes inR d with integer vertices. The extensions of a substitution satisfy a commutation relation with the natural boundary operator: the boundary of the image is the image of the boundary. We say that a substitution is unimodular (resp. hyperbolic) if the matrix associated to the substitution by abelianization is unimodular (resp. hyperbolic). In the case where the substitution is unimodular, we also define dual substitutions which satisfy a similar coboundary condition. We use these constructions to build self-similar sets on the expanding and contracting space for an hyperbolic substitution.  相似文献

The derivation algebras of all locally finite dimensional locally simple Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0 are determined. Every locally finite dimensional Lie algebra of countable dimension is a subalgebra of the outer derivation algebra outder (ℒ) for every Lie algebra ℒ, which is the direct limit of diagonally embedded classical Lie algebras. As an analogue of the classical cable knot, the p-cable n-knot about an n-knot K, where p is an integer and n?2, is defined, and some basic properties of higher dimensional cable knots are described. We show that for p>0 then p-fold branched cyclic covering space of an (n+2)-sphere branched over the p-cable knot about an n-knot K is an (n+2)-sphere or a homotopy (n+2)-sphere which is the result of Gluck-surgery on the composition of p copies of K according as if p is odd or even. At the same time, we prove that for any n?2 and p?2, the composition of p copies of any n-knot K is the fixed point set of a Zp-action on an (n+2)-sphere. This is another counterexample to the higher dimensional Smith conjecture.  相似文献

Let ${f : Y \longrightarrow M}Let f : Y ? M{f : Y \longrightarrow M} be a surjective holomorphic map between compact connected K?hler manifolds such that each fiber of f is a finite subset of Y. Let ω be a K?hler form on M. Using a criterion of Demailly and Paun (Ann. Math. 159 (2004), 1247–1274) it follows that the form f*ω represents a K?hler class. Using this we prove that for any semistable sheaf E ? M{E\, \longrightarrow\,M} , the pullback f*E is also semistable. Furthermore, f*E is shown to be polystable provided E is reflexive and polystable. These results remain valid for principal bundles on M and also for Higgs G-sheaves.  相似文献

The finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is an important tool in numerical electromagnetic simulation. There are many ways to construct a finite difference approximation such as the Taylor series expansion theorem, the filtering theory, etc. This paper aims to provide the comparison between the Taylor finite difference (TFD) scheme based on the Taylor series expansion theorem and the window finite difference (WFD) scheme based on the filtering theory. Their properties have been examined in detail, separately. In addition, the formula of the generalized finite difference (GFD) scheme is presented, which can include both the TFD scheme and the WFD scheme. Furthermore, their application in the numerical solution of Maxwell's equations is presented. The formulas for the stability criterion and the numerical dispersion relation are derived and analyzed. In order to evaluate their performance more accurately, a new definition of error is presented. Upon it, the effect of several factors including the grid resolution, the Courant number and the aspect ratio of the cell on the performance of the numerical dispersion is examined.  相似文献
