Electron cyclotron current drive (ECCD) will be applied in the EAST tokamak during its the new campaign. In order to provide theoretical predictions for relevant physical experiments, some numerical simulations of ECCD with the parameters of EAST have been can'ied out by using TORAY-GA code based on the understanding of ECCD mechanisms. ECCD efficiencies achieved in different plasma and electron cyclotron (EC) wave parameters are given. The dependences of ECCD characteristics on EC wave injection angle, toroidal magnetic field, plasma density, and temperature are presented and discussed.  相似文献

Investigation of neoclassical tearing mode and its suppression by electron cyclotron current drive(ECCD) has been carried out in HL-2 M tokamak. The current driving capability of the electron cyclotron wave is evaluated. It is found that the deposition location can be effectively controlled by changing the poloidal angle. The validation of electron cyclotron wave heating and current driving has been demonstrated for the upper launcher port. We show that 3.0 MW and2.5 MW modulated ECCD can completely stabilize(2,1) and(3,2) NTMs, respectively. The non-modulated ECCD, radial misalignment as well as current profile broadening have deleterious effect on the NTM stabilization. The time required for suppression of(3,2) mode is shorter than that required for the suppression of(2,1) mode. Moreover, the time needed for complete stabilization at different initial island width has been quantitatively presented and analyzed.  相似文献

介绍了在HT-6M托卡马克上,利用双低杂波的组合,成功地实现了准稳态的高约束模式运行. 能量约束时间提高两倍以上,粒子的约束在较高密度下依然改善3倍以上.通过应用波扩散及 电流径向扩散方程计算低杂波电流传播的方法,对一组典型的数据进行数值模拟.计算表明 ,在HT-6M低杂波实验中,由于纵场较低,密度较高,低杂波的能量沉积在离磁轴较远的位 置,使等离子体电流密度分布成为反剪切位形,内部输运垒地形成,大大提高了等离子体的 约束状况.实验数据也给出了反剪切的证据. 关键词: 托卡马克 低杂波 约束改善  相似文献

The optimized synergy conditions between electron cyclotron current drive(ECCD) and lower hybrid current drive(LHCD) with normal parameters of the EAST tokamak are studied by using the C3PO/LUKE code based on the understanding of the synergy mechanisms so as to obtain a higher synergistic current and provide theoretical reference for the synergistic effect in the EAST experiment. The dependences of the synergistic effect on the parameters of two waves(lower hybrid wave(LHW) and electron cyclotron wave(ECW)), including the radial position of the power deposition, the power value of the LH and EC waves, and the parallel refractive indices of the LHW(N) are presented and discussed.  相似文献

A new one-dimensional transport code named TASK/TX, which is able to describe dynamic behavior of tokamak plasmas, has been developed. It solves simultaneously a set of flux-surface averaged equations composed of Maxwell’s equations, continuity equations, equations of motion, heat transport equations, fast-particle slowing-down equations and two-group neutral diffusion equations. The set of equations describes plasma rotations in both toroidal and poloidal directions through momentum transfer and evaluates the radial electric field self-consistently. The finite element method with a piecewise linear interpolation function is employed with a fine radial mesh near the plasma surface. The Streamline Upwind Petrov–Galerkin method is also used for robust calculation. We have confirmed that the neoclassical properties are well described by the poloidal neoclassical viscous force. The modification of density profile during neutral beam injection is presented. In the presence of ion orbit loss, the generation of the inward radial electric field and torque due to radial current is self-consistently calculated.  相似文献

Plasmas in modern tokamak experiments contain a significant fraction of impurity ion species in addition to main deuterium background. A new unlike-particle collision operator for δf particle simulation has been developed to self-consistently study the non-local effects of impurities on neoclassical transport in toroidal plasmas. A new algorithm for simulation of cross-collisions between different ion species includes test-particle and conserving field-particle operators. The field-particle operator is designed to enforce conservation of number, momentum and energy. It was shown that the new operator correctly simulates the thermal equilibration of different plasma components. It was verified that the ambipolar radial electric field reaches steady state when the total radial guiding center particle current vanishes.  相似文献

The study of conditions for obtaining quasi-stationary scenarios in the T-15MD tokamak is performed. Results of simulation and optimization of T-15MD regimes with a fully noninductive current drive using NBICD systems with the power of 6–8 MW, ECCD system with the power ~8 MW, and RFCD system with power up to 7–8 MW are presented. It is shown that, at the somewhat reduced value as compared to the basic value of the toroidal magnetic field B t ~ 1.5 T in the T-15MD tokamak, discharges can be produced with a fully noninductive current of about 1 MA, plasma temperature of several keV, plasma density of about (3–7) × 1019 m–3, and discharge duration of about 20 s. Such discharges are of interest for further experimental study.  相似文献

Edge-localized modes (ELMs) are cyclic disturbances in the outer region of tokamak plasmas that are influential in determining present and future tokamak performance. In this Letter, we outline an approach to modeling ELMs in which we envisage toroidal peeling modes initiating a Taylor relaxation [Phys. Rev. Lett. 33, 1139 (1974)10.1103/PhysRevLett.33.1139] of a tokamak outer region plasma. Relaxation produces a peeling destabilizing flattened edge current profile and a stabilizing plasma-vacuum current sheet; the balance between the two determines the radial extent of the relaxed region. The model can be used to predict the energy losses due to an ELM and reproduces experimentally observed variations with edge safety factor and plasma collisionality. There is an intrinsic "deterministic scatter" in the model that also accords with observation.  相似文献

The capabilities of current drive, neoclassical tearing mode(NTM) stabilization, and sawtooth control are analyzed for the electron–cyclotron wave(ECW) system in a HL-2M tokamak. Better performance of the upper launcher is demonstrated in comparison with that of a dropped upper launcher, in terms of J_(EC)/J_(bs) for NTM stabilization and I_(ECCD)/(?ρtor)~2 for sawtooth control. 1-MW ECW power is enough for the 3/2 NTM stabilization, and 1.8-MW ECW power is required to suppress 2/1 NTM in a single null divertor equilibrium with 1.2-MA toroidal current with the upper launcher. Optimization simulation of electron–cyclotron current drive(ECCD) is carried out for three mirrors in an equatorial port, indicating that the middle mirror has a good performance compared with the top and bottom mirrors. The results for balanced co- and counter-ECCD in an equatorial port are also presented.  相似文献

The interaction of passing-ion drift orbits with spatially inhomogeneous but purely diffusive radial transport is demonstrated to cause spontaneous toroidal spin-up in a simple model of the tokamak edge. Physically, major-radial orbit shifts cause orbit-averaged diffusivities to depend on v(∥), including its sign, leading to residual stress. The resulting pedestal-top intrinsic rotation scales with T(i)/B(θ), resembling typical experimental scalings. Additionally, an inboard (outboard) X point enhances co- (counter)current rotation.  相似文献

A simple model of the penetration of particle effluxes from the core plasma into the SOL-plasma of tokamaks is proposed. The assumptions made are free streaming of particles parallel to the magnetic field and anomalous particle transport perpendicular to the toroidal field with a constant radial velocity. The model has been proved for measured particle fluxes of Li which was injected into the core plasma of the tokamak T-10. The dependence of the Li-particle flux on the minor radius as well as toroidal asymmetries in the SOL-plasma can be explained by the results of the calculations.  相似文献

The multipolar velocity field structures are investigated by 2D momentum conservation equation with 3D equilibrium sheared flows in the full toroidal system. Numerical results show that the non-existence of radial velocity field in equilibrium surfaces is suitable only for the zero-order term of our 2D simulation. The non-zero-order radial velocity field is still preserved, even when converted to conventional magnetic surface coordinates. The distribution of velocity field vectors of the order of 1, 2, and 3 are presented respectively in 2, 4, and 6 polar fields with the local vortex structure. The excitation mechanisms of these velocity vortices are the coupling effects of the magneto-fluid structure patterns and the toroidal effects. These results can help us understand the complexity of core physics, the transverse transport across magnetic field by the radial plasma flow and the formation of velocity vortices.  相似文献

Current profile tailoring by electron cyclotron heating (ECH) and current drive (ECCD) is used to improve central electron energy confinement in the TCV tokamak. Counter-ECCD on axis alone achieves this goal in a transient manner only. A stable scenario is obtained by a two-step sequence of off-axis ECH, which stabilizes magnetohydrodynamics modes, and on-axis counter-ECCD, which generates a flat or inverted current profile. This high-confinement regime, with central temperatures up to 9 keV (at a normalized beta(N) approximately 0.6), has been sustained for the entire duration of the heating pulse, or over 200 electron energy confinement times and 5 current redistribution times.  相似文献

Study of transport in the boundary layer of tokamak plasma in presence of magnetic divertors is extended to the second order in ion collision frequency. Numerical results for ion and energy losses to the collector plates are presented for toroidal and poloidal divertors. For the toroidal case, the Wiener-Hopf solution for the second order distribution function is obtained. An error occurring in an earlier first order calculation is pointed out and corrected first order fluxes are also given. For the poloidal divertor, asymmetry observed in ion and energy transport is found to persist in the second order result.  相似文献

The efficiency of generating a helical current in magnetic islands for the purpose of suppression of neoclassical tearing modes (NTMs) by electron cyclotron current drive (ECCD) is studied experimentally in the ASDEX Upgrade tokamak. It is found that the efficiency of generating helical current by continuous current drive in a rotating island drops drastically as the width 2d of the co-ECCD driven current becomes larger than the island width W. However, by modulating the co-ECCD in phase with the rotating islands O point, the efficiency can be recovered. The results are in good agreement with theoretical calculations taking into account the equilibration of the externally driven current on the island flux surfaces. The result is especially important for large next-step fusion devices, such as ITER, where 2d>W is expected to be unavoidable during NTM suppression, suggesting that modulation capability should be foreseen.  相似文献

Experimental evidence is reported of an internal kink instability driven by a new mechanism: barely trapped suprathermal electrons produced by off-axis electron cyclotron heating on the DIII-D tokamak. It occurs in plasmas with an evolving safety factor profile q(r) when q(min) approaches 1. This instability is most active when ECCD is applied on the high field side of the flux surface. It has a bursting behavior with poloidal/toroidal mode number = m/n = 1/1. In positive magnetic shear plasmas, this mode becomes the fishbone instability. This observation can be qualitatively explained by the drift reversal of the barely trapped suprathermal electrons.  相似文献

Summary In accordance with the conventional orderings of neoclassical theory, poloidal and toroidal accelerations with constant parallel flow can be driven by heat transport in the absence of external momentum input and with vanishing parallel viscous stress. In a transient phase in which the heat transport is the primary source of the time dependence, the torque generating the rotation is provided at third order in the adiabatic expansion by the surface-averaged (non-ambipolar) displacement current, which is also responsible for charge build-up and for the radial electric field. The heat transport equation has been solved in a narrow layer interfaced with the intensely heated plasma core through heat flux continuity, assuming neoclassical multicollisional coefficients with self-consistent suppression mechanism of anomalous transport. Starting from low temperature in the edge layer, a strong temperature gradient, a mass poloidal rotation in the ion direction and a strongly negative sheared radial electric field can be generated, in agreement with the observations, and reach a stationary state after a displacement current-dominated triggering phase (intrinsically non-ambipolar) lasting few milliseconds. Momentum input becomes important on longer time scale and is responsible for the toroidal rotation, decoupled from temperature gradient and for a further development of the radial electric field. The results show the ability of edge transport processes to adapt flexibly to a high temperature imposed on the inner side of the edge layer and support the view that the edge processes are an integral part of a more fundamental global process involving possibly an internal bifurcation of state.  相似文献
