In this note we adopt the approach in Bonnit et al. (Czechoslov. Math. J. 60(2):527–539, 2010) to give a direct proof of some recent results in Haak and Le Merdy (Houst. J. Math., 2005) and Haak and Kunstmann (SIAM J. Control Optim. 45:2094–2118, 2007) which characterizes the L p -admissibility of type α depending on p of unbounded observation operators for bounded analytic semigroups.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a symbolic method for solving quasi-birth-and-death processes via the RG factorization, and some “simple truncations”—see Remark 4. For reasons yet unexplained, this symbolic method yields the exact G, U, and R matrices in some low dimensional cases like the M/M/c/c retrial queue with c=1,2 servers (these results are essentially known due to Liu and Zhao (2010)), as well as the “Lie solvable model” introduced by Kawanishi (2005) (again only for c=1,2).  相似文献

This paper establishes a generalized comparison theorem for one-dimensional backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs) whose generators are uniformly continuous in z and satisfy a kind of weakly monotonic condition in y. As applications, two new existence and uniqueness theorems for solutions of BSDEs are obtained. In the one-dimensional setting, these results generalize some corresponding results in Pardoux and Peng (Syst. Control Lett. 14:55–61, 1990), Mao (Stoch. Process. Their Appl. 58:281–292, 1995), El Karoui et al. (Math. Finance 7:1–72, 1997), Pardoux (Nonlinear Analysis, Differential Equations and Control, Montreal, QC, 1998, Kluwer Academic, Dordrecht, 1999), Cao and Yan (Adv. Math. 28(4):304–308, 1999), Briand and Hu (Probab. Theory Relat. Fields 136(4):604–618, 2006), and Jia (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 346:439–444, 2008).  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to prove some new common fixed point theorems in (GV)-fuzzy metric spaces. While proving our results, we utilize the idea of compatibility due to Jungck (Int J Math Math Sci 9:771–779, 1986) together with subsequentially continuity due to Bouhadjera and Godet-Thobie (arXiv: 0906.3159v1 [math.FA] 17 Jun 2009) respectively (also alternately reciprocal continuity due to Pant (Bull Calcutta Math Soc 90:281–286, 1998) together with subcompatibility due to Bouhadjera and Godet-Thobie (arXiv:0906.3159v1 [math.FA] 17 Jun 2009) as patterned in Imdad et al. (doi:) wherein conditions on completeness (or closedness) of the underlying space (or subspaces) together with conditions on continuity in respect of any one of the involved maps are relaxed. Our results substantially generalize and improve a multitude of relevant common fixed point theorems of the existing literature in metric as well as fuzzy metric spaces which include some relevant results due to Imdad et al. (J Appl Math Inform 26:591–603, 2008), Mihet (doi:), Mishra (Tamkang J Math 39(4):309–316, 2008), Singh (Fuzzy Sets Syst 115:471–475, 2000) and several others.  相似文献

Following Zhu (Semigroup Forum, 2011, doi:), we study generalized Cayley graphs of semigroups. The Cayley D-saturated property, a particular combinatorial property, of generalized Cayley graphs of semigroups is considered and most of the results in Kelarev and Quinn (Semigroup Forum 66:89–96, 2003), Yang and Gao (Semigroup Forum 80:174–180, 2010) are extended. In addition, for some basic graphs and their complete fission graphs, we describe all semigroups whose universal Cayley graphs are isomorphic to these graphs.  相似文献

As a consequence of the classification of the finite simple groups, it has been possible in recent years to characterize Steiner t-designs, that is t-(v,k,1) designs, mainly for t=2, admitting groups of automorphisms with sufficiently strong symmetry properties. However, despite the finite simple group classification, for Steiner t-designs with t>2 most of these characterizations have remained long-standing challenging problems. Especially, the determination of all flag-transitive Steiner t-designs with 3≤t≤6 is of particular interest and has been open for about 40 years (cf. Delandtsheer (Geom. Dedicata 41, p. 147, 1992 and Handbook of Incidence Geometry, Elsevier Science, Amsterdam, 1995, p. 273), but presumably dating back to 1965). The present paper continues the author’s work (see Huber (J. Comb. Theory Ser. A 94, 180–190, 2001; Adv. Geom. 5, 195–221, 2005; J. Algebr. Comb., 2007, to appear)) of classifying all flag-transitive Steiner 3-designs and 4-designs. We give a complete classification of all flag-transitive Steiner 5-designs and prove furthermore that there are no non-trivial flag-transitive Steiner 6-designs. Both results rely on the classification of the finite 3-homogeneous permutation groups. Moreover, we survey some of the most general results on highly symmetric Steiner t-designs.   相似文献

Sachs (Can J Math 14:451–460, 1962) showed that a Boolean algebra is determined by its lattice of subalgebras. We establish the corresponding result for orthomodular lattices. We show that an orthomodular lattice L is determined by its lattice of subalgebras Sub(L), as well as by its poset of Boolean subalgebras BSub(L). The domain BSub(L) has recently found use in an approach to the foundations of quantum mechanics initiated by Butterfield and Isham (Int J Theor Phys 37(11):2669–2733, 1998, Int J Theor Phys 38(3):827–859, 1999), at least in the case where L is the orthomodular lattice of projections of a Hilbert space, or von Neumann algebra. The results here may add some additional perspective to this line of work.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize some results of [V. Bentkus, A new method for approximation in probability and operator theories, Lith. Math. J., 43(4):367–388, 2003] for independent identically distributed summands to to the case of independent non-identically distributed real summands. We consider the M/M/1 queue with processor sharing. We study the conditional sojourn time distribution, conditioned on the customer’s service requirement, in various asymptotic limits. These include large time and/or large service request, and heavy traffic, where the arrival rate is only slightly less than the service rate. The asymptotic formulas relate to, and extend, some results of Morrison (SIAM J. Appl. Math. 45:152–167, [1985]) and Flatto (Ann. Appl. Probab. 7:382–409, [1997]). In this paper, we study the solution stability of parametric weak Vector Variational Inequalities with set-valued and single-valued mappings, respectively. We obtain the lower semicontinuity of the solution mapping for the parametric set-valued weak Vector Variational Inequality with strictly C-pseudomapping in reflexive Banach spaces. Moreover, under some requirements that the mapping satisfies the degree conditions, we establish the lower semicontinuity of the solution mapping for a parametric single-valued weak Vector Variational Inequality in reflexive Banach spaces, by using the degree-theoretic approach. The results presented in this paper improve and extend some known results due to Kien and Yao (Set-Valued Anal. 16:399–412, 2008) and Wong (J. Glob. Optim. 46:435–446, 2010).  相似文献

In this lecture notes, we will discuss the classical Aleksandrov-Fenchel inequalities for quermassintegrals on convex domains and pose the problem of how to extend the inequalities to non-convex domains. We will survey some recent progress on the problem, then report some of our joint work [9] in which we generalize the k-th stage of the inequalities to a class of (k + 1)-convex domains. Our proof, following the earlier work of Castillion [8] for k =  1 case of the inequalities, uses the method of optimal transport.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to derive consequences of a result of G?tze and Zaitsev (2008). We show that the i.i.d. case of this result implies a multidimensional version of some results of Sakhanenko (1985). We prove that exponential maps of right-invariant Sobolev H r metrics on a variety of diffeomorphism groups of compact manifolds are nonlinear Fredholm maps of index zero as long as r is sufficiently large. This generalizes the result of Ebin et al. (Geom. Funct. Anal. 16, 2006) for the L 2 metric on the group of volume-preserving diffeomorphisms important in hydrodynamics. In particular, our results apply to many other equations of interest in mathematical physics. We also prove an infinite-dimensional Morse Index Theorem, settling a question raised by Arnold and Khesin (Topological methods in hydrodynamics. Springer, New York, 1998) on stable perturbations of flows in hydrodynamics. Finally, we include some applications to the global geometry of diffeomorphism groups.  相似文献

In the papers (Laudal in Contemporary Mathematics, vol. 391, [2005]; Geometry of time-spaces, Report No. 03, [2006/2007]), we introduced the notion of (non-commutative) phase algebras (spaces) Ph n (A), n=0,1,…,∞ associated to any associative algebra A (space), defined over a field k. The purpose of this paper is to study this construction in some more detail. This seems to give us a possible framework for the study of non-commutative partial differential equations. We refer to the paper (Laudal in Phase spaces and deformation theory, Report No. 09, [2006/2007]), for the applications to non-commutative deformation theory, Massey products and for the construction of the versal family of families of modules. In this paper we analyze the hydrodynamic equations for Ginzburg–Landau vortices as derived by E (Phys. Rev. B. 50(3):1126–1135, 1994). In particular, we are interested in the mean field model describing the evolution of two patches of vortices with equal and opposite degrees. Many results are already available for the case of a single density of vortices with uniform degree. This model does not take into account the vortex annihilation, hence it can also be seen as a particular instance of the signed measures system obtained in Ambrosio et al. (Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Anal. Non Linéaire 28(2):217–246, 2011) and related to the Chapman et al. (Eur. J. Appl. Math. 7(2):97–111, 1996) formulation. We establish global existence of L p solutions, exploiting some optimal transport techniques introduced in this context in Ambrosio and Serfaty (Commun. Pure Appl. Math. LXI(11):1495–1539, 2008). We prove uniqueness for L solutions, as expected by analogy with the incompressible Euler equations in fluidodynamics. We also consider the corresponding Dirichlet problem in a bounded domain. Moreover, we show some simple examples of 1-dimensional dynamic.  相似文献

We discuss a method for monochromatic inverse scattering in three dimensions of [Novikov in Int. Math. Res. Papers 2005(6):287–349, [2005]] and implemented numerically in [Alekseenko et al. in Acoust. J. 54(3), [2008]]. This method is obtained as a development of the -approach to inverse scattering at fixed energy in dimension d≥3 of [Beals and Coifman in Proc. Symp. Pure Math. 43:45–70, [1985]] and [Henkin and Novikov in Usp. Mat. Nauk 42(3):93–152, [1987]] and involves, in particular, some results of [Faddeev in Itogi Nauki Tech. Sovr. Prob. Math. 3:93–180, [1965], [1974]] and some ideas of the soliton theory (in particular, some ideas going back to [Manakov in Usp. Mat. Nauk 31(5):245–246, [1976]] and [Dubrovin et al. in Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR 229:15–18, [1976]]). Also, our studies go back, in particular, to [Regge in Nuovo Cimento 14:951–976, [1959]]. The general summation theorem for well-poised 5 F 4-series discovered by Dougall (Proc. Edinb. Math. Soc. 25:114–132, 1907) is shown to imply several infinite series of Ramanujan-type for 1/π and 1/π 2, including those due to Bauer (J. Reine Angew. Math. 56:101–121, 1859) and Glaisher (Q. J. Math. 37:173–198, 1905) as well as some recent ones by Levrie (Ramanujan J. 22:221–230, 2010).  相似文献

In this note we study the equivariant cohomology with compact supports of the zeroes of the moment map for the cotangent bundle of a linear representation of a torus and some of its notable subsets, using the theory of the infinitesimal index, developed in [8]. We show that, in analogy to the case of equivariant K-theory dealt with in [7] using the index of transversally elliptic operators, we obtain isomorphisms with notable spaces of splines studied in [2], [3].  相似文献

We study stability properties of certain evolution equations including the fractional Cauchy problem. Under some spectral assumptions these equations are governed either by a resolvent or a regularized resolvent or a k-convoluted semigroup. We investigate the long time behavior for bounded solutions by a direct application of the ergodic theorems for regularized resolvents of Lizama and Prado (J. Approx. Theory 122:42–61, 2003), Prado (Semigroup Forum 73:243–252, 2006). We apply our results to the qualitative study of the fractional diffusion-wave equation on L p (ℝ). Attaching to a compact disk [`(\mathbbDr)]{\overline{\mathbb{D}_{r}}} in the quaternion field \mathbbH{\mathbb{H}} and to some analytic function in Weierstrass sense on [`(\mathbbDr)]{\overline{\mathbb{D}_{r}}} the so-called q-Bernstein operators with q ≥ 1, Voronovskaja-type results with quantitative upper estimates are proved. As applications, the exact orders of approximation in [`(\mathbbDr)]{\overline{\mathbb{D}_{r}}} for these operators, namely \frac1n{\frac{1}{n}} if q = 1 and \frac1qn{\frac{1}{q^{n}}} if q > 1, are obtained. The results extend those in the case of approximation of analytic functions of a complex variable in disks by q-Bernstein operators of complex variable in Gal (Mediterr J Math 5(3):253–272, 2008) and complete the upper estimates obtained for q-Bernstein operators of quaternionic variable in Gal (Approximation by Complex Bernstein and Convolution-Type Operators, 2009; Adv Appl Clifford Alg, doi:, 2011).  相似文献
