In this paper, the concepts of indecomposable matrices and fully indecomposable matrices over a distributive lattice L are introduced, and some algebraic properties of them are obtained. Also, some characterizations of the set F n (L) of all n × n fully indecomposable matrices as a subsemigroup of the semigroup H n (L) of all n × n Hall matrices over the lattice L are given.  相似文献

Let GL n = GL(n,F p ) be the group of all n×ninvertible matrices over the field F p of p elements, p a prime number. As well known, a complete set of irreducible GL n -modules as submodules of the polynomial algebra was constructed by Stephen Doty and Grant Walker, Ton That Tri (see [1], [4]). Grant Walker has a conjecture that the occurence of these modules is the first occurence of these modules as submodules in the polynomial algebra. The aim of this paper is to give a proof of the above conjecture for p= 2.  相似文献

This paper proves that the maximum order-index of n × n matrices over an arbitrary commutative incline equals (n − 1)2 + 1. This is an answer to an open problem “Compute the maximum order-index of a member of Mn(L)”, proposed by Cao, Kim and Roush in a monograph Incline Algebra and Applications, 1984, where Mn(L) is the set of all n × n matrices over an incline L.  相似文献

In this article, we introduce the idea of Lie regular elements and study 2 × 2 Lie regular matrices. It is shown that the linear groups GL(2, ?2 n ), GL(2, ? p n ), and GL(2, ?2p ) (where p is an odd prime) can be genrated by Lie regular matrices. Presentations of linear groups GL(2, ?4), GL(2, ?6), GL(2, ?8), and GL(2, ?10) are also given.  相似文献

We prove that the additive group of a ring K is constructible if the group GL 2 (K) is constructible. It is stated that under one extra condition on K, the constructibility of GL 2 (K) implies that K is constructible as a module over its subring L generated by all invertible elements of the ring L; this is true, in particular, if K coincides with L, for instance, if K is a field or a group ring of an Abelian group with the specified property. We construct an example of a commutative associative ring K with 1 such that its multiplicative group K* is constructible but its additive group is not. It is shown that for a constructible group G represented by matrices over a field, the factors w.r.t. members of the upper central series are also constructible. It is proved that a free product of constructible groups is again constructible, and conditions are specified under which relevant statements hold of free products with amalgamated subgroup; this is true, in particular, for the case where an amalgamated subgroup is finite. Also we give an example of a constructible group GL 2 (K) with a non-constructible ring GL. Similar results are valid for the case where the group SL 2 (K) is treated in place of GL 2 (K) .  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce an operator Hμ(z) on L^∞(△) and obtain some of its properties. Some applications of this operator to the extremal problem of quasiconformal mappings are given. It is known that {Ln(A,λ)(x)}n≥0 is orthogonal with respect to a matrix moment functional when A satisfies the spectral condition that Re(z) > - 1 for every z ∈σ(A).In this note we show that forA such that σ(A) does not contain negative integers, the Laguerre matrix polynomials Ln(A,λ) (x) are orthogonal with respect to a non-diagonal SobolevLaguerre matrix moment functional, which extends two cases: the above matrix case and the known scalar case.  相似文献

Recently, Fredman and Tarjan invented a new, especially efficient form of heap (priority queue). Their data structure, theFibonacci heap (or F-heap) supports arbitrary deletion inO(logn) amortized time and other heap operations inO(1) amortized time. In this paper we use F-heaps to obtain fast algorithms for finding minimum spanning trees in undirected and directed graphs. For an undirected graph containingn vertices andm edges, our minimum spanning tree algorithm runs inO(m logβ (m, n)) time, improved fromO((m, n)) time, whereβ(m, n)=min {i|log(i) nm/n}. Our minimum spanning tree algorithm for directed graphs runs inO(n logn + m) time, improved fromO(n log n +m log log log(m/n+2) n). Let p be the transform group on R, then P has a natural unitary representation U onL2 (R^n). Decompose L2(R^n) into the direct sum of irreducible invariant closed subspace,s. The re-striction of U on these suhspaces is square-intagrable. In this paper the characterization of admissi-ble condition in tarrns of the Fourier transform is given. Let U k be the general Boolean algebra and T a linear operator on M m,n (U k ). If for any A in M m,n (U k ) (M n (U k ), respectively), A is regular (invertible, respectively) if and only if T(A) is regular (invertible, respectively), then T is said to strongly preserve regular (invertible, respectively) matrices. In this paper, we will give complete characterizations of the linear operators that strongly preserve regular (invertible, respectively) matrices over U k . Meanwhile, noting that a general Boolean algebra U k is isomorphic to a finite direct product of binary Boolean algebras, we also give some characterizations of linear operators that strongly preserve regular (invertible, respectively) matrices over 169-7 k from another point of view.  相似文献

It is well known that the right global dimension of a ring R is usually computed by the right derived functors of Hom and the left projective resolutions of right R-modules. In this paper, for a left coherent and right perfect ring R, we characterize the right global dimension of R, from another point of view, using the left derived functors of Hom and the right projective resolutions of right R-modules. It is shown that rD(R)≤n (n≥2) if and only if the gl right Proj-dim MR≤n - 2 if and only if Extn-1(N, M) = 0 for all right R-modules N and M if and only if every (n - 2)th Proj-cosyzygy of a right R-module has a projective envelope with the unique mapping property. It is also proved that rD(R)≤n (n≥1) if and only if every (n-1)th Proj-cosyzygy of a right R-module has an epic projective envelope if and only if every nth Vroj-cosyzygy of a right R-module is projective. As corollaries, the right hereditary rings and the rings R with rD(R)≤2 are characterized.  相似文献

Let X= Rn+ × R denote the underlying manifold of polyradial functions on the Heisenberg group Hn.We construct a generalized translation on X=Rn+ × R, and establish the Plancherel formula on L2(X,dμ).Using the Gelfand transform we give the condition of generalized wavelets on L2(X,dμ). Basic facts for Gabor frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p on local field are investigated. Accurately, that the canonical dual of frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p also has the Gabor structure is showed; that the product ab decides whether it is possible for {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p to be a frame for L2(K) is discussed; some necessary conditions and two sufficient conditions of Gabor frame for L2(K) are established. Polynomial n × n matrices A(x) and B(x) over a field \mathbbF \mathbb{F} are called semiscalar equivalent if there exist a nonsingular n × n matrix P over \mathbbF \mathbb{F} and an invertible n × n matrix Q(x) over \mathbbF \mathbb{F} [x] such that A(x) = PB(x)Q(x). A variation in the classical Turan extrernal problem is studied. A simple graphG of ordern is said to have propertyPk if it contains a clique of sizek+1 as its subgraph. Ann-term nonincreasing nonnegative integer sequence π=(d1, d2,⋯, d2) is said to be graphic if it is the degree sequence of a simple graphG of ordern and such a graphG is referred to as a realization of π. A graphic sequence π is said to be potentiallyP k-graphic if it has a realizationG having propertyP k . The problem: determine the smallest positive even number σ(k, n) such that everyn-term graphic sequence π=(d1, d2,…, d2) without zero terms and with degree sum σ(π)=(d 1+d 2+ …+d 2) at least σ(k,n) is potentially Pk-graphic has been proved positive. In this paper, we characterize invertible matrices over an arbitrary commutative antiring S with 1 and find the structure of GLn(S). We find the number of nilpotent matrices over an entire commutative finite antiring. We prove that every nilpotent n×n matrix over an entire antiring can be written as a sum of ⌈log2n⌉ square-zero matrices and also find the necessary number of square-zero summands for an arbitrary trace-zero matrix to be expressible as their sum.  相似文献
