Many problems in physics and mathematics may be reduced to solving equations depending on a parameter. The justification of the existence of solutions to the equations and the sensitivity analysis may be conducted based on Implicit Function Theorem (IFT) under certain regularity assumptions. Provided the regularity assumptions do not hold, generalizations of IFT are needed in order to study solutions to the equations. The paper focuses on a particular generalization of IFT which is then applied to a parametric linear time-optimal control problem.  相似文献

We consider specially structured matrices representing optimization problems with quadratic objective functions and (finitely many) affine linear equality constraints in an n-dimensional Euclidean space. The class of all such matrices will be subdivided into subsets [‘strata’], reflecting the features of the underlying optimization problems. From a differential-topological point of view, this subdivision turns out to be very satisfactory: Our strata are smooth manifolds, constituting a so-called Whitney Regular Stratification, and their dimensions can be explicitly determined. We indicate how, due to Thom's Transversality Theory, this setting leads to some fundamental results on smooth one-parameter families of linear-quadratic optimization problems with (finitely many) equality and inequality constraints.  相似文献

We study parametric optimal control problems governed by a system of time-dependent partial differential equations (PDE) and subject to additional control and state constraints. An approach is presented to compute the optimal control functions and the so-called sensitivity differentials of the optimal solution with respect to perturbations. This information plays an important role in the analysis of optimal solutions as well as in real-time optimal control.The method of lines is used to transform the perturbed PDE system into a large system of ordinary differential equations. A subsequent discretization then transcribes parametric ODE optimal control problems into perturbed nonlinear programming problems (NLP), which can be solved efficiently by SQP methods.Second-order sufficient conditions can be checked numerically and we propose to apply an NLP-based approach for the robust computation of the sensitivity differentials of the optimal solutions with respect to the perturbation parameters. The numerical method is illustrated by the optimal control and sensitivity analysis of the Burgers equation.Communicated by H. J. Pesch  相似文献

In this paper, we use parametric quintic splines to derive some consistency relations which are then used to develop a numerical method for computing the solution of a system of fourth-order boundary-value problems associated with obstacle, unilateral, and contact problems. It is known that a class of variational inequalities related to contact problems in elastostatics can be characterized by a sequence of variational inequations, which are solved using some numerical method. Numerical evidence is presented to show the applicability and superiority of the new method over other collocation, finite difference, and spline methods.  相似文献

We use parametric cubic spline functions to develop a numerical method for computing approximations to the solution of a system of second-order boundary-value problems associated with obstacle, unilateral, and contact problems. We show that the present method gives approximations which are better than those produced by other collocation, finite-difference, and spline methods. In this article, an abstract theory regarding variational properties of the fixed points of contractions and Perov contractions is applied to boundary value problems on semi-line for second-order differential equations and systems. In this note, we consider the mapping which associates a controllability set to each value of the parameter of a system. Sufficient conditions for the existence of breaks of this mapping are obtained.
