Magnetic anisotropy has been measured in multiply twinned, icosahedral cobalt clusters. It is found that the low-temperature magnetization of deposited cluster layers is well defined with the Stoner–Wohlfarth model by averaging over clusters with a range of anisotropy energy. Anisotropy energy calculation based on Néel's pair model shows that the icosahedral structure and the layer-by-layer growth of the clusters induce oscillations of the magnetic anisotropy as a function of the filling of the outer surface of the particle. The magnetization measurement at room temperature indicates a weakly correlated cluster glass, as deduced from the approach to saturation that is well described with 2D random anisotropy model. 相似文献

The magnetic anisotropy and domain structure of electrodeposited cylindrical Co nanowires with length of 10 or 20 μm and diameters
ranging from 30 to 450 nm are studied by means of magnetization and magnetic torque measurements, as well as magnetic force
microscopy. Experimental results reveal that crystal anisotropy either concurs with shape anisotropy in maintaining the Co
magnetization aligned along the wire or favours an orientation of the magnetization perpendicular to the wire, hence competing
with shape anisotropy, depending on whether the diameter of the wires is smaller or larger than a critical diameter of 50
nm. This change of crystal anisotropy, originating in changes in the crystallographic structure of Co, is naturally found
to strongly modify the zero (or small) field magnetic domain structure in the nanowires. Except for nanowires with parallel-to-wire
crystal anisotropy (very small diameters) where single-domain behaviour may occur, the formation of magnetic domains is required
to explain the experimental observations. The geometrical restriction imposed on the magnetization by the small lateral size
of the wires proves to play an important role in the domain structures formed.

The magnetic anisotropy and magnetostriction of a Lu2Fe17 single crystal are investigated. The temperature dependence of the magnetic anisotropy constant K 1 is measured in the range 4.2–300 K. The results obtained are compared with the data calculated using the Callen theoretical formula. It is found that the temperature dependence of K 1 for the Lu2Fe17 single crystal deviates from the temperature curve predicted by the localized single-ion model. The inference is drawn that a certain contribution to the magnetic anisotropy of the Lu2Fe17 compound is made by the magnetic anisotropy of band electrons. The longitudinal, transverse, and volume magnetostrictions of the Lu2Fe17 single crystal are studied, and the magnetostriction constants are calculated. It is demonstrated that the exchange integral of Lu2Fe17, as for the Y2Fe17 compound, substantially depends on the atomic volume. This dependence is responsible for the considerable difference between the Curie temperatures of the Lu2Fe17 and Y2Fe17 compounds. It is revealed that the magnetostriction of the Lu2Fe17 single crystal in the temperature range of the magnetic phase transition is determined by the two-ion exchange and single-ion contributions. 相似文献

The magnetic properties of Lu2Fe17 single crystal have been studied by means of magnetization, susceptibility and magnetostriction measurements. The unusual magnetic behavior with two magnetic phase transitions has been observed in magnetic fields up to 50 Oe. The magnetostriction of the Lu2Fe17 compound has the maximum at temperature T≈285 K at which the paraprocess makes the main contribution to the magnetization. 相似文献

The magnetic properties of Co and Ni nanosized aggregates
formed after implantation of nickel and cobalt ions in magnesium
oxide single crystals were investigated. The influence of the
implantation energy and annealing treatments was characterized. The
particle size distribution was determined from the combined analysis
of the magnetic moment dependence on both magnetic field and
temperature, and used to determine the magnetic anisotropy constant
of the aggregates. The results for nickel aggregates indicate the
presence of an antiferromagnetic layer after the annealing

The present paper is devoted to the investigation of exchange anisotropy of fine cobalt particles with oxidized surface. From the value of hysteresis loop shift the value of exchange magnetic anisotropy constant and its dependence of the particle size has been determined. X-ray structure analysis has shown, that cobalt core of the particle is surrounded by a thin layer of the CoO which, in turn, is covered by a layer of Co3O4. 相似文献

We present the study of Co/organic semiconductor (OS) stacks both from the morphological and magnetic point of view. Co has been successfully used up to now as top contact of hybrid vertical devices. While the properties of Co grown on amorphous layers are well established, its deposition on soft materials presents critical aspects such as interfacial damage that affects its electrical and magnetic properties. In this work we focus on the influence of the morphology of the organic underlayer in the magnetic behavior of a Co thin film: tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (Alq3) grown in different conditions by molecular beam evaporation have been considered. A further considered aspect is the effect of the presence of a thin oxide barrier (Al2O3) on the Co magnetic properties. 相似文献

Magnetic anisotropy between in-plane and out of plane magnetic alignments is studied in a variety of multilayer systems using Mössbauer spectrosopy to observe the (Fe) magnetic orientation. The surface anisotropy in Fe/Au (1 1 1) multilayers is measured as K s = 0.9 × 10?3 Jm?2. In Fe/Ni multilayers the dependence of magnetic orientation on external field applied normal to the layers enables volume and interface anisotropies K v = (?5 ± 1) × 104 Jm?3 and K s = (?0.6 ± 0.4)× 10?3 Jm?2 to be evaluated. In similar applied field experiments coherent rotation of the magnetic Fe and NiFe layers in Fe/Cu/NiFe/Cu multilayers was observed for intervening Cu layer thickness x = 5 Å but independent rotation for x = 50 Å. Out of plane magnetic components are observed for DyFe2, YFe2 thin films and DyFe2/YFe2 multilayers. In fields of up to 0.25 T applied inplane only the moments of the YFe2 film showed significant rotation. 相似文献

The competition between uniaxial and cubic magnetic anisotropies of single-domain particles is analyzed theoretically. As long as K 1c /K 1u < 5 (K 1c and K 1u are the first constants of the crystallographic and uniaxial anisotropies), the value of K 1u noticeably affects coercive force H c and relative residual magnetization j r of particle ensembles. If the uniaxial anisotropy direction coincides with crystallographic axis 〈111〉 or 〈100〉, the dependences of H c and j r on ratio K 1c /K 1u have a minimum. The competition between the induced uniaxial anisotropy and cubic anisotropy was detected experimentally when the effect of temperature T on the H c (T) and j r (T) dependences for single-domain spherical particles of magnetic 3d alloys and γ-Fe2O3 oxide was investigated. For all single-domain particles studied here, the effect of crystallographic anisotropy on H c and j r is manifested at low temperatures, while uniaxial anisotropy plays a decisive role in the temperature range T > 250 K. The effect of second constant K 2 on H c and j r of ensembles of single-domain particles with uniaxial and cubic anisotropies is investigated theoretically. It is shown that the value of K 2 may substantially change the value of H c for a particle ensemble, preserving the value of j r unchanged. 相似文献

Magnetization measurements have been made on a Sm2Fe14B single crystal in magnetic fields up to 140 kOe. The easy direction of the magnetization lies along [100] in the tetragonal structure P42/mnm. Magnetic anisotropy energies at 290K along [110] and [001] have been estimated to be 5.8×106 and 1.1×108 erg/cm3, respectively, both becoming much larger at lower temperature. No evidence of the spin canting of Nd2Fe14B type is observed even at 4.2K. 相似文献

磁铁矿是分布广泛且非常重要的亚铁磁材料,也广泛分布在生物体中。生物体中的磁铁矿具有完美的晶体结构,大多为超顺磁颗粒或单畴颗粒,且大多呈链状分布,具有明显的磁各向异性。生物体中存在“磁接收器”,生物磁铁矿是“磁接收器”的生物物理基础。本文中,从超顺磁磁铁矿颗粒和单畴磁铁矿颗粒的物理特性出发,主要是从它们的磁各向异性特性的基础上描述了生物磁铁矿和“磁接收器”的工作机制, 即在某些条件下,在外界地磁场强度量级的磁场作用下,超顺磁颗粒或单畴颗粒可以诱导产生足够强的磁场,使邻近的晶体可以相互吸引或排斥, 这些粒子间的相互作用可以改变晶体颗粒束所在的外围机体形状,而神经系统可以探测到单独的粒子束或一列粒子束的扩张或收缩,因此生物体就可以探测到磁场的方向以及强度等磁场参量。 相似文献

The magnetic anisotropy of the ferromagnetic layered manganites La
is investigated. For x = 0.4, the easy-plane anisotropy comes out predominantly from dipolar interaction but it is partly cancelled out by a significant uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy. A systematic investigation of the magnetic properties of Tb-Co amorphous films prepared using radio-frequency ion sputtering
in a uniform magnetic field has been carried out. The main regularities of the change in the magnetic anisotropy parameters
as a function of the composition (8–43 at % Tb), measurement temperature (5–350 K), and annealing temperature (up to 200°C)
have been established. It has been shown that their interpretation can be performed within the framework of the model that
takes into account the fluctuating local magnetic anisotropy of the terbium ions, columnar microstructure, and anisotropy
