On weakly S-embedded subgroups of finite groups

Let H be a subgroup of a group G.Then H is said to be S-quasinormal in G if HP = P H for every Sylow subgroup P of G;H is said to be S-quasinormally embedded in G if a Sylow p-subgroup of H is also a Sylow p-subgroup of some S-quasinormal subgroup of G for each prime p dividing the order of H.In this paper,we say that H is weakly S-embedded in G if G has a normal subgroup T such that HT is an S-quasinormal subgroup of G and H ∩ T≤H SE,where H SE denotes the subgroup of H generated by all those subgroups of ...     

The influence of s-conditionally permutable subgroups on finite groups

A subgroup H of a group G is called s-conditionally permutable in G if for every Sylow subgroup T of G there exists an element x ∈ G such that HTx = TxH. Using the concept of s-conditionally permutable subgroups, some new characterizations of finite groups are obtained and several interesting results are generalized.

On coleman outer automorphism groups of finite groups

Let G be a finite group and Out _Col(G) the Coleman outer automorphism group of G(for the definition, see below). The question whether Out_Col(G) is a p′-group naturally arises from the study of the normalizer problem for integral group rings, where p is a prime. In this article, some sufficient conditions for Out_Col(G) to be a p′-group are obtained. Our results generalize some well-known theorems.     

The influence of <Emphasis Type="Italic">X</Emphasis>-semipermutability of subgroups on the structure of finite groups

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X be a nonempty subset of G. A is said to be X-semipermutable in G if A has a supplement T in G such that A is X-permutable with every subgroup of T. In this paper, we investigate further the influence of X-semipermutability of some subgroups on the structure of finite groups. A Remark on З-Permutability of Finite Groups

Let З be a complete set of Sylow subgroups of a finite group G, that is, З contains exactly one and only one Sylow p-subgroup of G for each prime p. A subgroup of a finite group G is said to be З-permutable if it permutes with every member of З. Recently, using the Classification of Finite Simple Groups, Heliel, Li and Li proved tile following result： If the cyclic subgroups of prime order or order 4 iif p = 2） of every member of З are З-permutable subgroups in G, then G is supersolvable. In this paper, we give an elementary proof of this theorem and generalize it in terms of formation.     

A question on partial CAP-subgroups of finite groups

A subgroup H of a finite group G is a partial CAP-subgroup of G if there is a chief series of G such that H either covers or avoids every chief factor of the series.The structural impact of the partial cover and avoidance property of some distinguished subgroups of a group has been studied by many authors.However,there are still some open questions which deserve an answer.The purpose of the present paper is to give a complete answer to one of these questions.     

New characterizations of finite supersoluble groups

Let A be a subgroup of a group G and X a nonempty subset of G.A is called an X- semipermutable subgroup of G if A has a supplement T in G such that for every subgroup T_1 of T there exists an clement x∈X such that AT_i~x=T_i~xA.On the basis of this concept we obtain some new characterizations of finite supersoluble groups.

We investigate the influence of s-semipermutable subgroups on the structure of finite groups. Some recent results are generalized and unified.     

Local embeddings of some families of subgroups of finite groups

In this paper we study the influence of the partial cover and avoidance property on the subgroups of some relevant families of subgroups in a finite group.     

On complemented subgroups of finite groups

A subgroup H of a group G is said to be complemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and H ⋂ K = 1. In this paper we determine the structure of finite groups with some complemented primary subgroups, and obtain some new results about p-nilpotent groups.     

Finite groups with some given systems of Xm‐semipermutable subgroups

Let X be a nonempty subset of a group G. We call a subgroup A of G an X_m‐semipermutable subgroup of G if A has a minimal supplement T in G such that for every maximal subgroup M of any Hall subgroup T₁ of T there exists an element x ∈ X such that AM^x = M^xA. On SS-quasinormal subgroups and the structure of finite groups

A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be an SS-quasinormal subgroup of G if there is a subgroup B of G such that G = HB and H permutes with every Sylow subgroup of B. In this paper, we investigate the structure of a group under the assumption that every subgroup with order pm of a Sylow p-subgroup P of G is SS-quasinormal in G for a fixed positive integer m. Some interesting results related to the p-nilpotency and supersolvability of a finite group are obtained. For example, we prove that G is p-nilpo...     

On two classes of finite supersoluble groups

Let ? be a complete set of Sylow subgroups of a finite group G, that is, a set composed of a Sylow p-subgroup of G for each p dividing the order of G. A subgroup H of G is called ?-S-semipermutable if H permutes with every Sylow p-subgroup of G in ? for all p?π(H); H is said to be ?-S-seminormal if it is normalized by every Sylow p-subgroup of G in ? for all p?π(H). The main aim of this paper is to characterize the ?-MS-groups, or groups G in which the maximal subgroups of every Sylow subgroup in ? are ?-S-semipermutable in G and the ?-MSN-groups, or groups in which the maximal subgroups of every Sylow subgroup in ? are ?-S-seminormal in G.     

Some criteria for supersolubility in products of finite groups

Let H and T be subgroups of a finite group G. H is said to be permutable with T in G if HT = TH. In this paper, we use the concept of permutable subgroups to give two new criterions of supersolubility of the product G = AB of finite supersoluble groups A and B.      

On finite groups with non-subnormal subgroups

For a finite group G, let n(G) denote the number of conjugacy classes of non-subnormal subgroups of G. In this paper, we show that a finite group G satisfying n(G)≤2|π(G)| is solvable, and for a finite non-solvable group G, n(G) = 2|π(G)|+1 if and only if G?A₅.     

On sse-embedded subgroups of finite groups

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the concept of sse-embedded subgroups of finite groups and present some new characterizations of solubility of finite groups using the sse-embedding property of subgroups. Furthermore, we discuss the sse-embedded subgroups in finite nonabelian simple groups. Some previously known results are generalized and unified.     

<Emphasis Type="Italic">c</Emphasis>-Semipermutable subgroups of finite groups

A subgroup is called c-semipermutable in G if A has a minimal supplement T in G such that for every subgroup T ₁ of T there is an element x ∈ T satisfying AT ₁ ^x = T ₁ ^x A. We obtain a few results about the c-semipermutable subgroups and use them to determine the structures of some finite groups.
