We study Sturm–Liouville differential operators on noncompact graphs without cycles (i.e., on trees) with standard matching conditions in internal vertices. First we establish properties of the spectral characteristics and then we investigate the inverse problem of recovering the operator from the so-called Weyl vector. For this inverse problem we prove a uniqueness theorem and propose a procedure for constructing the solution using the method of spectral mappings. Received: February 13, 2007.  相似文献

Inverse spectral problems are considered for differential pencils with boundary conditions depending polynomially on the spectral parameter and with a finite number of transmission conditions. We give formulations of the associated inverse problems such as Titchmarsh–Weyl theorem, Hochstadt–Lieberman theorem and Mochizuki–Trooshin theorem, and prove corresponding uniqueness theorems. The obtained results are generalizations of the similar results for the classical Sturm–Liouville operator on a finite interval.  相似文献

Sturm–Liouville differential operators on compact trees with general matching conditions in internal vertices are studied. We establish properties of the spectral characteristics and investigate three inverse problems of recovering the operator either from the so-called Weyl functions, or from discrete spectral data or from a system of spectra. For these inverse problems, we prove the corresponding uniqueness theorems and obtain procedures for constructing their solutions by the method of spectral mappings.  相似文献

This paper solves explicitly the direct and inverse spectral problems for Sturm-Liouville systems with rational Weyl functions. As in the previous papers of the authors on canonical and pseudocanonical systems, the method employed in the present paper is based on state space techniques and uses the idea of realization from mathematical system theory. For a subclass of rational potentials a property of modified bispectrality is proven. A wide class of solutions of the matrix Korteweg-de Vries equation is derived. To the memory of M.G. We study boundary value problems on noncompact cycle-free graphs (i.e., trees) for second-order ordinary differential equations with a nonlinear dependence on the spectral parameter. We establish properties of the spectrum and analyze the inverse problem of reconstructing the coefficients of a differential equation on the basis of the so-called Weyl functions. For this inverse problem, we prove a uniqueness theorem and obtain a procedure for constructing the solution by the method of spectral mapping.  相似文献

We study inverse spectral problems for ordinary differential equations on compact star-type graphs when differential equations have different orders on different edges. As the main spectral characteristics we introduce and study the so-called Weyl-type matrices which are generalizations of the Weyl function (m-function) for the classical Sturm-Liouville operator. We provide a procedure for constructing the solution of the inverse problem and prove its uniqueness.  相似文献

A mixed problem for the nonlinear Bogoyavlenskii system on the half-line is studied by the inverse problem method. The solution of the mixed problem is reduced to the solution of the inverse spectral problem of recovering a forth-order differential operator on the half-line from the Weyl matrix. We derive evolution equations for the elements of the Weyl matrix and give an algorithm for the solution of the mixed problem. Evolution equations of the elements of the Weyl matrix are nonlinear. It is shown that they can be reduced to a nested system of three successively solvable matrix Riccati equations.  相似文献

Inverse spectral problems for ordinary differential operators of any order on compact trees are studied. As the main spectral characteristics, Weyl matrices, which generalize the Weyl m-function for the classical Sturm-Liouville operator are introduced and studied. A constructive solution procedure for the inverse problem based on Weyl matrices is suggested, and the uniqueness of the solution is proved. The reconstruction of differential equations from discrete spectral characteristics is also considered.  相似文献

We discuss direct and inverse spectral theory for the isospectral problem of the dispersionless Camassa–Holm equation, where the weight is allowed to be a finite signed measure. In particular, we prove that this weight is uniquely determined by the spectral data and solve the inverse spectral problem for the class of measures which are sign definite. The results are applied to deduce several facts for the dispersionless Camassa–Holm equation. In particular, we show that initial conditions with integrable momentum asymptotically split into a sum of peakons as conjectured by McKean.  相似文献

We explore the sparsity of Weyl–Titchmarsh m-functions of discrete Schrödinger operators. Due to this, the set of their m-functions cannot be dense on the set of those for Jacobi operators. All this reveals why an inverse spectral theory for discrete Schrödinger operators via their spectral measures should be difficult. To obtain the result, de Branges theory of canonical systems is applied to work on them, instead of Weyl–Titchmarsh m-functions.  相似文献

We present an approach to de Branges's theory of Hilbert spaces of entire functions that emphasizes the connections to the spectral theory of differential operators. The theory is used to discuss the spectral representation of one-dimensional Schrödinger operators and to solve the inverse spectral problem.  相似文献

We study the inverse problem of recovering differential operators of the Orr‐Sommerfeld type from the Weyl matrix. Properties of the Weyl matrix are investigated, and an uniqueness theorem for the solution of the inverse problem is proved.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors study partial inverse nodal problems for differential pencils on a star-shaped graph. We firstly show that the potential on each edge can be uniquely determined by twin-dense nodal subsets on some interior intervals under certain conditions. Without any nodal information on some potential on the fixed edge, we may add some spectral information to guarantee these uniqueness theorems. We still consider the case of arbitrary intervals having the internal vertex. In particular, we pose and solve a new partial inverse nodal problem for differential pencils on the star-shaped graph from the Weyl m-function and the theory concerning densities of zeros of entire functions.  相似文献

We discuss direct and inverse spectral theory of self-adjoint Sturm–Liouville relations with separate boundary conditions in the left-definite setting. In particular, we develop singular Weyl–Titchmarsh theory for these relations. Consequently, we apply de Branges? subspace ordering theorem to obtain inverse uniqueness results for the associated spectral measure. The results can be applied to solve the inverse spectral problem associated with the Camassa–Holm equation.  相似文献

This is the second of a planned sequence of papers on inverse problems for canonical systems of differential equations. It is devoted to the inverse monodromy problem for canonical integral and differential systems. In this part, which focuses on the case of a diagonal signature matrixJ, a parametrization is obtained of the set of all solutionsM (t) for the inverse problem for integral systems in terms of two chains of entire matrix valued inner functions. Special classes of solutions correspond to special choices of these chains. This theme will be elaborated upon further in a third part of this paper which will be published in a subsequent issue of this journal. There the emphasis will be on symmetries and growth conditions all of which serve to specify or restrict the chains alluded to above, from the outside, so to speak.  相似文献

The Sturm–Liouville problem with linear discontinuities is investigated in the case where an eigenparameter appears not only in a differential equation but also in boundary conditions. Properties and the asymptotic behavior of spectral characteristics are studied for the Sturm–Liouville operators with Coulomb potential that have discontinuity conditions inside a finite interval. Moreover, the Weyl function for this problem is defined and uniqueness theorems are proved for a solution of the inverse problem with respect to this function.  相似文献

We study boundary value problems on a hedgehog graph for second-order ordinary differential equations with a nonlinear dependence on the spectral parameter. We establish properties of spectral characteristics and consider the inverse spectral problem of reconstructing the coefficients of a differential pencil on the basis of spectral data. For this inverse problem, we prove a uniqueness theorem and obtain a procedure for constructing its solution.  相似文献
