This note deals with the strongly damped nonlinear wave equation
utt−Δut−Δu+f(ut)+g(u)=huttΔutΔu+f(ut)+g(u)=h
with Dirichlet boundary conditions, where both the nonlinearities ff and gg exhibit a critical growth, while hh is a time-independent forcing term. The existence of an exponential attractor of optimal regularity is proven. As a corollary, a regular global attractor of finite fractal dimension is obtained.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of semilinear hyperbolic equations. Using the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear parts, the existence and uniqueness of weak global solutions are investigated. We also established the behavior of solutions and their derivatives as t→+. Using the method of test functions developed in the works (Mitidieri and Pokhozhaev, 2001 [11], Veron and Pohozaev, 2001 [12] and Caristi, 2000 [23]) we obtain the analogue of the Fujita-Hayakawa type criterion for the absence of global solutions to some system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities with damping. It follows that the conditions of existence theorem imposed on the growth of nonlinear parts are exact in some sense.  相似文献

We determine the general form of the asymptotics for Dirichlet eigenvalues of the one-dimensional linear damped wave operator. As a consequence, we obtain that given a spectrum corresponding to a constant damping term this determines the damping term in a unique fashion. We also derive a trace formula for this problem.  相似文献

We establish C2,αC2,α-estimates for solutions of a class of quasilinear elliptic equations with free boundary and tangential derivative boundary problems. Using this regularity result we show the existence of global solutions to regular shock reflections for the unsteady transonic small disturbance (UTSD) equation. We also present Lipschitz estimates near the degenerate Dirichlet boundary (the sonic boundary) for the UTSD equation.  相似文献

We show that elliptic second order operators A of divergence type fulfill maximal parabolic regularity on distribution spaces, even if the underlying domain is highly non-smooth, the coefficients of A are discontinuous and A is complemented with mixed boundary conditions. Applications to quasilinear parabolic equations with non-smooth data are presented.  相似文献

We study the Hölder regularity of weak solutions to the evolutionary p  -Laplacian system with critical growth on the gradient. We establish a natural criterion for proving that a small solution and its gradient are locally Hölder continuous almost everywhere. Actually our regularity result recovers the classical result in the case p=2p=2 [16] and can be applied to study the regularity of the heat flow for m-dimensional H-systems as well as the m-harmonic flow.  相似文献

Using the multilinear estimates, which were derived for proving well-posedness of the generalized Korteweg-de Vries (gKdV) equation, it is shown that if the initial data belongs to Gevrey space Gσ, σ?1, in the space variable then the solution to the corresponding Cauchy problem for gKdV belongs also to Gσ in the space variable. Moreover, the solution is not necessarily Gσ in the time variable. However, it belongs to G3σ near 0. When σ=1 these are analytic regularity results for gKdV.  相似文献

We prove existence of global and conservative solutions of the Cauchy problem for the nonlinear partial differential equation where f is strictly convex or concave and g is locally uniformly Lipschitz. This includes the Camassa-Holm equation (f(u)=u2/2 and g(u)=κu+u2) as well as the hyperelastic-rod wave equation (f(u)=γu2/2 and g(u)=(3−γ)u2/2) as special cases. It is shown that the problem is well-posed for initial data in H1(R) if one includes a Radon measure that corresponds to the energy of the system with the initial data. The solution is energy preserving. Stability is proved both with respect to initial data and the functions f and g. The proof uses an equivalent reformulation of the equation in terms of Lagrangian coordinates.  相似文献

Nonlinear geometric optics with various frequencies for entropy solutions only in L of multidimensional scalar conservation laws is analyzed. A new approach to validate nonlinear geometric optics is developed via entropy dissipation through scaling, compactness, homogenization, and L1-stability. New multidimensional features are recognized, especially including nonlinear propagations of oscillations with high frequencies. The validity of nonlinear geometric optics for entropy solutions in L of multidimensional scalar conservation laws is justified.  相似文献

We show the asymptotic behavior of the solution to the Cauchy problem of the two-dimensional damped wave equation. It is shown that the solution of the linear damped wave equation asymptotically decompose into a solution of the heat and wave equations and the difference of those solutions satisfies the LpLq type estimate. This is a two-dimensional generalization of the three-dimensional result due to Nishihara (Math. Z. 244 (2003) 631). To show this, we use the Fourier transform and observe that the evolution operators of the damped wave equation can be approximated by the solutions of the heat and wave equations. By using the LpLq estimate, we also discuss the asymptotic behavior of the semilinear problem of the damped wave equation with the power nonlinearity |u|αu. Our result covers the whole super critical case α>1, where the α=1 is well known as the Fujita exponent when n=2.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem in RnRn for strongly damped wave equations. We derive asymptotic profiles of these solutions with weighted L1,1(Rn)L1,1(Rn) data by using a method introduced in [9] and/or [10].  相似文献

Abstract

In this paper we study the combined sinh-cosh-Gordon equation, which arises in mathematical physics and has a wide range of scientific applications that range from chemical reactions to water surface gravity waves. We employ Lie symmetry analysis along with the simplest equation method to obtain exact solutions based on the optimal systems of one-dimensional subalgebras for the combined sinh-cosh-Gordon equation. Furthermore, conservation laws for the combined sinh-cosh-Gordon equation are derived by employing two different methods; the direct method and new conservation theorem.  相似文献

We consider the wave equation with supercritical interior and boundary sources and damping terms. The main result of the paper is local Hadamard well-posedness of finite energy (weak) solutions. The results obtained: (1) extend the existence results previously obtained in the literature (by allowing more singular sources); (2) show that the corresponding solutions satisfy Hadamard well-posedness conditions during the time of existence. This result provides a positive answer to an open question in the area and it allows for the construction of a strongly continuous semigroup representing the dynamics governed by the wave equation with supercritical sources and damping.  相似文献
