In this paper, we study the traveling wave solutions of a delayed diffusive SIR epidemic model with nonlinear incidence rate and constant external supplies. We find that the existence of traveling wave solutions is determined by the basic reproduction number of the corresponding spatial‐homogenous delay differential system and the minimal wave speed. The existence is proved by applying Schauder's fixed point theorem and Lyapunov functional method. The non‐existence of traveling waves is obtained by two‐sided Laplace transform. This paper is concerned with the existence and non-existence of traveling wave solutions of reaction-diffusion-advection equation with boundary conditions of mixed type in unbounded cylinder. By constructing new supper-sub solutions and applying monotone iteration method, we obtain existence of traveling wave solutions with wave velocity bigger than the “minimal speed”. For wave velocity smaller than the “minimal speed”, we find that traveling waves of exponential decay do not exist. Finally, we apply our results to KPP type nonlinearity.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling waves of a reaction-diffusion SIRQ epidemic model with relapse. We find that the existence and nonexistence of traveling waves are determined by the basic reproduction number of the system and the minimal wave speed. This threshold dynamics is proved by Schauder''s fixed-point theorem combining Lyapunov functional with the theory of asymptotic spreading. Moreover, the numerical simulations are provided to illustrate our analytical results and the effect of the relapse is also discussed.  相似文献

We study the traveling waves for a lattice dynamical system with monostable nonlinearity in periodic media. It is well known that there exists a minimal wave speed such that a traveling wave exists if and only if the wave speed is above this minimal wave speed. In this paper, we first derive a stability theorem for certain waves of non-minimal speed. Moreover, we show that wave profiles of a given speed are unique up to translations.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the traveling waves in a class of non-monotone integral equations. First we establish the existence of traveling waves. The approach is based on the construction of two associated auxiliary monotone integral equations and a profile set in a suitable Banach space. Then we show that the traveling waves are unique up to translations under some reasonable assumptions. The exact asymptotic behavior of the profiles as ξ→−∞ and the existence of minimal wave speed are also obtained. Finally, we apply our results to an epidemic model with non-monotone “force of infection”.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the spatial dynamics of a nonlocal and time-delayed reaction-diffusion system, which is motivated by an age-structured population model with distributed maturation delay. The spreading speed c*, the existence of traveling waves with the wave speed c?c*, and the nonexistence of traveling waves with c<c* are obtained. It turns out that the spreading speed coincides with the minimal wave speed for monotone traveling waves.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a reaction diffusion model for competing pioneer and climax species. A previous work has established the existence of traveling wave fronts connecting two competition-exclusion equilibria in certain range of the parameters, while in this paper, we explore the possibility of traveling wave fronts connecting the pioneer-invasion-only equilibrium and the co-invasion equilibrium. By combining the Schauder’s fixed point theorem with a pair of the so called desired functions, we show that the model does support such co-invasion waves in some other ranges of parameters. We also determine the minimal speed for such co-invasion waves in terms of the parameters, and discuss some biological implications and significance of the results.  相似文献

We study a predator–prey model with two alien predators and one aborigine prey in which the net growth rates of both predators are negative. We characterize the invading speed of these two predators by the minimal wave speed of traveling wave solutions connecting the predator-free state to the co-existence state. The proof of the existence of traveling waves is based on a standard method by constructing (generalized) upper-lower-solutions with the help of Schauder’s fixed point theorem. However, in this three species model, we are able to construct some suitable pairs of upper-lower-solutions not only for the super-critical speeds but also for the critical speed. Moreover, a new form of shrinking rectangles is introduced to derive the right-hand tail limit of wave profile.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

We study the traveling waves of reaction-diffusion equations for a diffusive SEIR model with a general nonlinear incidence. The existence of traveling waves is determined by the basic reproduction number of the corresponding ordinary differential equations and the minimal wave speed. Its proof is showed by introducing an auxiliary system, applying Schauder fixed point theorem and then a limiting argument. The non-existence proof is obtained by two-sided Laplace transform when the speed is less than the critical velocity. Finally, we present some examples to support our theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the monotonicity and uniqueness of traveling waves for a reaction-diffusion model with quiescent stage. We first obtain the exponential decay rate of wave profiles, and then we show that any profile is strictly monotone by using the strong comparison principle. Furthermore, we prove the uniqueness (up to translation) of all traveling waves including even the waves with minimal speed.  相似文献

The reported data on human rabies in China in the past 10 years demonstrate that the number of counties with human rabies cases has increased dramatically and the disease has spread from southern provinces to northern provinces. The aim of this paper is to study how the movement of dogs impacts the spatial spread of rabies and to find effective strategies for controlling rabies. We firstly construct a reaction-diffusion model for dogs and humans and obtain the minimal wave speed. Then we consider the existence of traveling waves and the influences of parameters on human rabies cases and the minimal wave speed by numerical simulations. Lastly, we discuss the local stability of the endemic equilibrium. Our analysis indicates that dog movement leads to the traveling wave of dog and human rabies and has a large influence on the minimal wave speed. Thus restricting the movement of dogs, in particular the exposed and infected dogs, is an effective way to prevent the spatial spread of rabies.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to studying the speed of asymptotic spreading and minimal wave speed of traveling wave solutions for a time periodic and diffusive DS-I-A epidemic model, which describes the propagation threshold of disease spreading. The main feature of this model is the possible deficiency of the classical comparison principle such that many known results do not directly work. The speed of asymptotic spreading is estimated by constructing auxiliary equations and applying the classical theory of asymptotic spreading for Fisher type equation. The minimal wave speed is established by proving the existence and nonexistence of the nonconstant traveling wave solutions. Moreover, some numerical examples are presented to model the propagation dynamics of this system.  相似文献

In this paper we study a reaction–diffusion–advection predator–prey model in a river. The existence of predator-invasion traveling wave solutions and prey-spread traveling wave solutions in the upstream and downstream directions is established and the corresponding minimal wave speeds are obtained. While some crucial improvements in theoretical methods have been established, the proofs of the existence and nonexistence of such traveling waves are based on Schauder’s fixed-point theorem, LaSalle’s invariance principle and Laplace transform. Based on theoretical results, we investigate the effect of the hydrological and biological factors on minimal wave speeds and hence on the spread of the prey and the invasion of the predator in the river. The linear determinacy of the predator–prey Lotka–Volterra system is compared with nonlinear determinacy of the competitive Lotka–Volterra system to investigate the mechanics of linear and nonlinear determinacy.  相似文献

In this paper, we will establish the existence and nonexistence of traveling waves for nonlinear cellular neural networks with finite or infinite distributed delays. The dynamics of each given cell depends on itself and its nearest m left or l right neighborhood cells where delays exist in self-feedback and left or right neighborhood interactions. Our approach is to use Schauder?s fixed point theorem coupled with upper and lower solutions of the integral equation in a suitable Banach space. Further, we obtain the exponential asymptotic behavior in the negative infinity and the existence of traveling waves for the minimal wave speed by the limiting argument. Our results improve and cover some previous works.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence, monotonicity, asymptotic behavior and uniqueness of traveling wave solutions for a three-species competitive–cooperative system with nonlocal dispersal and bistable dynamics. By considering a related truncated problem, we first establish the existence and strict monotonicity of traveling waves by means of a limiting argument and a comparative lemma. Then the asymptotic behavior of traveling waves is investigated by using Ikehara’s lemma and bilateral Laplace transform. Finally, we obtain the uniqueness of wave speed and traveling wave by sliding method.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with traveling wave solutions of a nonlocal dispersal SIR epidemic model. The existence and nonexistence of traveling wave solutions are determined by the basic reproduction number and the minimal wave speed. This threshold dynamics are proved by Schauder’s fixed point theorem and the Laplace transform. The main difficulties are that the semiflow generated by the model does not have the order-preserving property and the solutions lack of regularity.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we establish the asymptotic boundary of traveling waves (first-component) in a discrete diffusive epidemic model, whose existence is well-known. Meanwhile, we derive the nonexistence of traveling wave solutions with non-positive wave speed. We solve two open problems left in two papers [Fu et al., Nonlinear Convex A. 17 (2016), pp. 1739–1751; Wu, J. Differential Equations 262 (2017), pp. 272–282].  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the time periodic traveling wave solutions for a periodic Lotka–Volterra predator–prey system, which formulates that both species synchronously invade a new habitat. We first establish the existence of periodic traveling wave solutions by combining the upper and lower solutions with contracting mapping principle and Schauder’s fixed point theorem. The asymptotic behavior of nontrivial solution is given precisely by the stability of the corresponding kinetic system that has been widely investigated. Then, the nonexistence of periodic traveling wave solutions is confirmed by applying the theory of asymptotic spreading. We show the conclusion for all positive wave speed and obtain the minimal wave speed.  相似文献

We obtain some existence results for traveling wave fronts and slowly oscillatory spatially periodic traveling waves of planar lattice differential systems with delay. Our approach is via Schauder's fixed-point theorem for the existence of traveling wave fronts and via S1-degree and equivarant bifurcation theory for the existence of periodic traveling waves. As examples, the obtained abstract results will be applied to a model arising from neural networks and explicit conditions for traveling wave fronts and global continuation of periodic waves will be obtained.  相似文献
