To study the modification of the value of the nuclear quadrupole moment obtained without Sternheimer correction from measurements in states with different principal quantum numbers, the hyperfine structure splitting of the 52 P 3/2 and the 62 P 3/2 excited states of Rb I has been investigated with the optical double resonance method. The experiments, in which isotopic enriched samples of Rb85 and Rb87 were used, have been carried out in the 52 P 3/2 state without a static magnetic field. In the 62 P 3/2 state, a static magnetic field was applied. For the 52 P 3/2 state, the hyperfine structure constants areA(Rb85)=25.029(16) Mc/s,B(Rb85)=26.032(70) Mc/s,A(Rb87)=84.852(30) Mc/s,B(Rb87)=12.611(70) Mc/s. The corresponding constants for the 62 P 3/2 state areA(Rb85)=8.25(10) Mc/s,B(Rb85)=8.16(20) Mc/s,A(Rb87)=27.96(35) Mc/s,B(Rb87)=3.95(10) Mc/s. The values of the nuclear quadrupole moments, derived from both finestructure states, can be brought into agreement when the Sternheimer core correction is applied. The Landé factor for the 62 P 3/2 state isg j=1.334(1).  相似文献

Observing the resonance fluorescence of the transition 7d 2 D 3/2-6p 2 P 1/2 (λ=2379 Å) in the Tl I-spectrum the level crossing technique with combined electric and magnetic fields was used to investigate the hyperfine structure and the Stark effect of the 7d 2 D 3/2-state. For electric field strengthsE?25 kV/cm the Stark shifts are considerably greater than the hyperfine splitting. Therefore the crossing signals for the case of decoupled hyperfine structure could be detected. The following values of the magnetic hyperfine constantA and the Stark parameterβ were deduced: ¦A¦=55(1) Mc/sec·g J /0.8, ¦β¦=0.20(4) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2·g J /0.8 andA/β>0. The widths of the signals yielded the mean lifetimeτ=2.7(5)·10?8 sec· 0.8/g J . Sign and values ofA andβ are discussed.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the 62 P 3/2 state of Rb87 has been reinvestigated with optical double resonance in zero magnetic field. The results for the hfs-splitting constants areA(62 P 3/2, Rb87)=27.70 (2) Mc/s andB(62 P 3/2, Rb87)=3.94 (4) Mc/s. From these constants one obtains a value for the nuclear quadrupole moment uncorrected for shielding effects ofQ=+0.138 (1)·10?24 cm2.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the 32P3/2 State of Na23has been measured by the optical double resonance technique in a magnetic field of 3.1 kG sufficiently strong to decouple completelyI andJ. In the case of π or (σ+?) excitation the double resonance signal represents the superposition curve of eight unresolved radio-frequency transitions. The dependence of the signal on the pressure of sodium vapour and the radio-frequency field strength has been studied. The analysis of the experimental curves yields for the hyperfine coupling constants the valuesa=(18.7±0.4) Mc/s andb=(3.4±0.4) Mc/s. The nuclear electric quadrupole moment derived from the ratio ofb/a isQ=(0.146±0.02) · 10?24cm2. The Lande factor and the lifetime for the 32P3/2state are gJ=1.3344±0.0004 and τ=(1.61±0.07) · 10?8 sec.  相似文献

The resonance fluorescence of the transition 5d 2 D 5/2?5p 2 P 3/2 (λ=3256Å) in the In I-spectrum was observed as a function of an external magnetic field. From the level crossing signals the following values of the hyperfine constantsA andB of the 5d 2 D 5/2-state were deduced: ¦A¦=148(8) Mc/sec·g J/1.2 and ¦B/A¦≦0.3. The widths of the signals yielded the mean lifetimet=7.1 (6)·10?9 sec · 1.2/g J . From the shifts of the signals caused by a constant electric field parallel to the magnetic field the value of the Stark parameter ¦β¦=0.19(4) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2 ·g J /1.2 and the sign of the ratioA/β<0 were determined. Calculations with Coulomb wave functions show that the Stark shifts of the electric field are mainly due to admixtures of the 6p 2 P 3/2-state.  相似文献

The electric quadrupole interaction constantB of the 8p2P3/2 state of Cs134 has been determined by an optical double resonance measurement of the hyperfine structure transition vF=11/2?F=9/2=47.84(12) Mc/s. The results are: B 8P 134 =8.06(20) Mc/s and Q 8P 134 =+ 0.427(8) · 10?24cm2. Comparison is made between the measurements in the 7p and 8p electronic states: Q 8P 134 /Q 7P 134 =0.977(20). The ratio of the corresponding Sternheimer correction factors yields the value C7p/C8P=0.982.  相似文献

The resonance fluorescence of the transitions 3d 2 D 5/2,3/2 3p 2 P 3/2,1/2 in the Al I-spectrum was observed as a function of a magnetic field. Adding an electric field parallel to the magnetic field the shifts of level crossing signals caused by the Stark effect of the electric field were used to separate overlapping signals of the 3d 2 D 5/2- and 3d 2 D 3/2-states. The following values of the Stark parametersβ of both states and the hyperfine structure constantsA andB of the 3d 2 D 3/2-states were deduced: 3d 2 D 3/2∶ ¦A¦=99(1) Me/sec · gJ/0,8,B/A=?0,22(12), ¦β¦=0.45 (8) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2 · gJ,/0.8, A/β< 0 3d2D5/2∶ ¦β¦=0.16 (4) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2 · gJ/1.2, A/β>0. The influence of an electric field on the energy levels of the 6d2D3/2-state in the Tl I-spectrum was studied by measuring the shifts of level crossing signals relative to their magnetic field positions. The following values of the magnetic hyperfine constantA and the Stark parameterβ were deduced: ¦A¦=42(2) Mc/sec · gJ/0.8, ¦β¦=0.12(1) Mc/sec/(kV/cm)2 · gJ/0.8 and A/β>0. Assuming that the main part of the energy shifts are caused by admixtures of the 7p2P-states the sign of the Stark parameterβ and —from the measured ratio A/β>0 —the sign of theA-factor should be negative. For electric field strength E?30 kV/cm the energy shifts of the 6d2D3/2state are considerably greater than the hyperfine structure splitting. The hyperfine structure splitting of the 82 P 3/2 state of Rb85 and Rb87 has been investigated with optical double resonance. The following interaction constants have been obtained:A 8p 85 =1.99(2) MHz,B 8p 85 =1.98(12) MHzA 8p 87 =6.75(3) MHz,B 8p 87 =0.96(6) MHz. The level-crossing technic has been used to investigate the hyperfinestructur of the 3d 10 4p 2 P 3/2-term in Copper I by scattering the resonance line λ=3248 Å on an atomic beam of separated isotop Cu63 respectively Cu65 in an external magnetic field. From the level-crossing signals values for the magnetic dipol interaction constantsA and for the electric quadrupol interaction constantsB are deduced to beeA(Cu63)=(194,72±0,15) Mc/secB(Cu63)=?(28,8±0,6) Mc/secA(Cu65)=(208,57±0,15) Mc/secB(Cu65)=?(25,9±0,6) Mc/sec. With theA-value of the 3d 10 4p2P1/2-term from optical measurements the ratioA(2 P 3/2)∶A(2 P 1/2)≈0,4 is about twice greater than for an unperturbetalkali-like2P-term. From the width of the level-crossing signals a mean lifetime of the 3d10 4p2P3/2-term τ=(7,0±0,2) · 10?9 sec is deduced.  相似文献

In order to determine the electric quadrupole moment of Sr87 (I= 9/2) the hyperfine structure-splitting of the 5s5p 3 P 1-state of the SrI-spectra was investigated by optical double resonance. By detection of high frequency transitions (ΔF=±1,Δm F=0,±1) in an external magnetic fieldH 0≈0 one obtains the hyperfine structure separations asv F=11/2?F=9/2=1463·149 (6) Mc/sec andv F=9/2?F=7/2=1130·264 (6) Mc/sec. From these frequencies one calculates the magnetic hyperfine structure-splitting constantA=?260·084 (2) Mc/sec and the electric quadrupole interaction constantB=?35·658 (6) Mc/sec. Attempts were made to grow CeO2 and ThO2 single crystals doped with transition metal ions. Only Fe3+ and Mn2+ could be detected by the EPR technique. The EPR spectrum of Fe3+ in CeO2 exhibits the well-known fine structure in cubic fields. The parameters areg=2.0044(1) anda=15.6(1)·10?4 cm?1. The hyperfine constantA for57Fe in hexahedral coordination was found to be 8.9(1)·10?4 cm?1. The EPR spectrum of Mn2+ in CeO2 reveals two cubic Mn2+ centers. The parameters for center 1 areg=1.9999(1) andA=86.9(1)·10?4 cm?1 and for center 2g=1.9984(1) andA=87.0(1)·10?4 cm?1. Heating the Mn doped CeO2 samples in hydrogen, the Mn2+ centers transform from cubic into trigonal centers with approximate values ofg=1.9988(2),A=84.5(6)·10?4 cm?1 andD=203(1)·10?4 cm?1. The two observed Mn2+ centers in ThO2 exhibita priori axial symmetry with approximate values ofg=2.0006(2),A=88.9(4)·10?4 cm?1 andD=33(3)·10?4 cm?1.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the 32P3/2-state in the Na(I)-spektrum was investigated by optical double resonance. Three zero fieldrf-transitions (ΔF=±1, ΔmF=0) were detected and thus the unambiguous interpretation of therf-spectrum was made possible. The hyperfine structure splitting of the 72 P 1/2 state of Rb85 has been investigated with optical double resonance spectroscopy. The results are:v F=3?F=2=52.95(6) Mc/s,A J=1/2=17.65(2) Mc/s,g J (72 P 1/2, Rb)=0.6668(1). From the hfs interaction constants of the 72 P multiplett a 12% core polarization contribution to the magnetic hfs of the 72 P 3/2 state can be deduced. The X-band EPR spectrum of Mn2+ in Sn2P2S6 was studied in the temperature rangeT=223–363 K. At room temperature the spin-Hamiltonian constants areg=2.00±0.01,B 2 0 =(163±3)·10?4 cm?1,B 2 2 =(159±3)·10?4 cm?1,A=?(75±1)·10?4 cm?1. The effect of the invariance in temperature of the resonance magnetic fields in the narrow temperature rangeT=337–340 K and the model of the paramagnetic centre are discussed. According to EPR data a phase transition occurs atT=337 K. Taking into account second order corrections due to the influence of the 61 P 1 and 63 P 0,2 states, the following results for the magnetic splitting constantA and the electric quadrupole interaction constantB have been derived: A(171Yb)=3958.228 (60) Mc/s, A(173Yb)=?1094.318 (35) Mc/s, S(173Yb)=?825.904 (85) Mc/s. Level crossings obeying the selection ruleΔm=2 have been detected in the 62 P 3/2-state of both Rb85 and Rb87. Using the measured crossing points, the ratios of the hyperfinestructure constants to theg J -factor are determined from a calculation for intermediate magnetic fields. The ratios areA 85/g J =6.119 (3) Mc/s,B 85/g J =6.14 (2) Mc/s,A 87/g J =20.70 (3) Mc/s,B 87/g J =2.93 (5) Mc/s. From the zero field level crossing of Rb87 the lifetimeτ=1.14 (6) · 10?7sec of the 62P3/2-state is obtained. Interaction of an unpaired electron of the tetrahedral V4+ ion in Ca3In2Ge3O12 garnet with the four nearest In nuclei gives rise to clearly resolved structure of EPR spectra. We report the observation and analysis of these spectra at three frequencies and at temperature 77 K. The temperature dependence between liquid helium and the room temperatures was also studied. Parameters of the spin Hamiltonian are g=1·8735; g=1·9825; ∣ ¦A|=150·4×10?4cm?1; ¦ A¦ = 36·7 × 10?4 cm?1. The supertransferred hyperfine interaction was found to be isotropic, absolute value of the corresponding parameter a is 22·1 × 10?4 cm?1.  相似文献

By means of a level crossing experiment the hyperfine structure constants of thez 6 P 7/2-level of Eu have been determined. The results areA=-6.51(6) MHz andB= 131.2(1.0) MHz in the isotope151Eu andA=-2.84(3) MHz andB=327.5(1.5) MHz in the isotope153Eu. Experimental data on the hyperfine splitting are available now for 11 of the 12 levels of the configuration 4f 7 (8S)6s 6p of EuI. These data are compared with the theoretical interpretation given by Bordarieret al. [1] which was based on only 7A-factors andB-factors. It is shown that the agreement between theory and experiment can be improved by taking into account configuration interactions.  相似文献
