Directional correlations between gamma radiation andL x-rays in182W have been measured. The x-rays are emitted following the internal conversion process of the 100.1 keV 2+ → 0+ transition. The experimental results for anisotropies involving gamma radiation emitted in the 1189.0 keV transition andL x-rays are A(γ?L l )=?0.073(27),A(γ?L α)=?0.0102(45),A(γ?L β)=?0.0031(35), andA(γ?L γ)=?0.007(13). The value deduced for the coefficientU 2(e) pertaining to the converted transition isU 2(e)=0.52(8) in reasonable agreement with the theoretically expected value 0.410. A note is given on the use of internal conversion radial matrix elements.  相似文献

The(50L II?158γ) directional correlation has been measured in199Hg. The result isA 22=+0.038±0.024, which gives the mixing ratio for the 50keV transition,δ=+0.017±0.006. The accuracy of the method is discussed.  相似文献

We have studied the decay ?1 → ?2 + γ for arbitrary like charged spin 12 leptons in a manner which is applicable to a large class of models. Our computations assume that this process is induced by one loop diagrams. When the leading effect is cancelled by a leptonic G.I.M. mechanism, we find an extremely large enhancement of O(MW4/ML4) in Λ(μ?e?+e+e?)/Λ(μ?e?+γ) if the intermediate lepton is charged.  相似文献

Levels of138Ce and140Nd have been studied using the138Ba(α,4)138Ce and140Ce(α, 4)140Nd reactions. Singleγ-ray spectra,γ-γ coincidence spectra, angular and time distributions with respect to the beam bursts have been measured. A number of higher excited states with excitation energies up to about 5 MeV and with spin value up to 12 are populated in both nuclei. The lower states with spins and parities 7?, 5?, 6? and 10+ can be explained by two-quasiparticle neutron configurations of the types (h 11/2 ?1 ,d 3/2 ?1 ) 7? , (h 11/2 ?1 ,S 1/2 ?1 ) 5?, 6? and (h 11/2 ?2 ) 10+. Several high-spin states observed in138Ce and140Nd can be explained qualitatively as four-quasiparticle states with two-proton-two-neutron configurations. The 3? state at an energy of 2,137.4 keV is observed in138Ce. The evidence for the existence of the low-lying 3? states in140Nd at 2,124.0 keV is discussed. Beside the known 9.6 ms (7?) isomeric state in138Ce another state at 3,538.5keV (10+) with a half life of about 200 ns has been observed. The observed levels in the138Ce and140Nd nuclei are compared with theoretical predictions using delta force interaction.  相似文献

The tentative indication in some experiments of μ?e+ or π?μ+ events with unusual characteristics revives the speculation that neutrino-induced dileptons may contain a weak signal of neutral heavy lepton (L0) production. We study the characteristics of dileptons expected from the production of an L0 through a current of the form L0γα(1+γ5μ. Both quasi-elastic and deep inelastic excitation are investigated and a comparison is made with dileptons of charm origin. As an illustration of a model with a νμ→L0 transition, we discuss the 2-2 version of the SU(2) × U(1) model and comment on the role of the Higgs particle in such transitions.  相似文献

Excitation functions for the 56Fe(α, γ0)60Ni and 56Fe(α, γ1)60Ni reactions have been measured at 90° to the beam direction over the bombarding energy range 8.0–17.6 MeV. Gamma-ray angular distributions were measured at ten bombarding energies. Excitation functions for the 59Co(p, γ0)60Ni and 59Co(p, γ1)60Ni reactions were measured over the range Ex = 16.58–16.92 MeV and compared with the (α, γ) data. The angular distribution data indicate that the (α, γ0) and (α,γ1) reactions proceed through 1?, and 1? and 3? states, respectively. The (α, γ) excitation functions are discussed with respect to isospin splitting of the 60Ni giant dipole resonance. The fine structure observed in the excitation functions is shown to be most probably due to Ericson fluctuations. The gross (α, γ) cross sections are shown to be in reasonable agreement with the results of calculations made using the theory of Hauser and Feshbach assuming excitation of the giant dipole resonance.  相似文献

The decay scheme of112Cd has been studied by γ-ray spectroscopy with the110Pd(α, 2nγ) reaction. Spin and parity assignments were made on the basis of coincidence measurements, angular distributions and excitation functions. Twelve new energy levels were established. A vibrational-like positive-parity band up to spin 8+ and a negativeparity side band 5?, (7?), (9?) were found. For the negative-parity states a (vj, vh11/2) configuration is suggested. Results of background measurements with a prototype of the Borexino detector were used to obtain bounds on the lifetime of radiative neutrino decay νH→νL+γ. The new lower limit for the lifetime of pp and 7Be neutrinos is τc.m.H→νL+γ) /mν≥4.2×103 s eV?1(α)= 0). It is more than an order of magnitude stronger than the value obtained in previous experiments using nuclear reactors and accelerators.  相似文献

The Q2 dependence of σ (γvp→π?Δ++) was measured. Close to threshold σ (γvp→π?Δ++) is roughly proportional to 1/(m2? + Q2)2. The data are consistent with dominance of the contact term and imply that the contact term has the Q2 dependence of the ? propagator.  相似文献

77Se has been investigated by the reaction74Ge(α,) at 14 MeV. Gamma singles spectra, gamma angular distributions and gamma-gamma coincidences have been taken. A level scheme has been established, spins and parities have been assigned. States of a rotational band on the 1/2? ground state, a rotational band on the 5/2? 249.7 keV state and an anormal band have been identified. The strength distributions of particle-hole isoscalar transitions with high multipolarities are considered in the framework of the independent particle model using the Woods-Saxon potential. It is shown that for the multipole operatorsj L (qr)Y LM withL?A 1/3 andq?p F the distributions are peaked at the relatively low energy for allL, and their widths decrease asL ?1/2. In contrast to that, for the surface external fields (?U/?r)Y LM the centroid excitation energy is proportional toL 2 and the distribution widths increase asL 4/3. The conclusion is drawn that the p-h excitations might be responsible for the structures in the excitation function observed in heavy ion collisions in the energy region up to ≈2ε F .  相似文献

The lepton-charge (L e , L μ , L τ ) nonconserving interaction leads to the mixing of the electron, muon, and tau neutrinos, which manifests itself in spatial oscillations of a neutrino beam, and also to the mixing of the electron, negative muon, and tau lepton, which, in particular, may be the cause of the “forbidden” radiative decay of the negative muon into the electron and γ quantum. Under the assumption that the nondiagonal elements of the mass matrices for neutrinos and ordinary leptons, connected with the lepton charge nonconservation, are the same, and by performing the joint analysis of the experimental data on neutrino oscillations and experimental restriction for the probability of the decay µ?e ? + γ per unit time, the following estimate for the lower bound of neutrino mass has been obtained: m (ν) > 1.5 eV/c 2.  相似文献

Theγ-decay of40Ar has been studied by particle-γ-ray coincidence measurements in the37Cl(α, pγ) reaction at 12 and 13 MeV bombarding energy. Particle-γ-ray angular correlations and linear polarizations ofγ-rays were measured at 12 MeV. A lifetime measurement using the Doppler-shift attenuation method was performed at 11 MeV. The coexistence of spherical and deformed states in40Ar could be concluded from the observation of aK π=0+ rotational band which has itsI π=0+ through 6+ members at 2,121, 2,524, 3,515 and 4,959 KeV excitation energy. The intrinsic quadrupole moment derived fromB(E2) values is ∥Q 0∥=1,320 ?120 +60 mb. Negative-parity states with high spin were observed at 4,858(5?), 4,494(5?), 4,226(4?) and 4,991 KeV(4?) excitation energy. A complete account of all levels below 5 MeV excitation energy is obtained by a model in which twod 3/2 proton holes couple weakly to the42Ca levels below 4.75 MeV excitation energy.  相似文献

The two short-lived isomeric states in112In have been reinvestigated by means of the112Cd(d, 2n) and109Ag (α, n) reactions. Measurements of delayed X- andγ-ray, lifetime and TDPAD spectra have been performed. A 6.32(3) keVγ-ray has been identified in the isomeric decay and anM1 multipolarity has been assigned to it on the basis of the measured internal conversion coefficients:α L =196(39) andα tot=231(35). TheE1+M2(δ =+0.24(4)) andE2 multipolarities have been determined for the 263 and 188 keV transitions deexciting the 8?(T 1/2=2.82(2) μs) and 7+ (T 1/2=0.93(2) μs) isomeric states, respectively. We consider an Ising system in two dimensions with a two body ferromagnetic interaction J γ(x, y) that depends on the Kac scaling parameter γ. We prove that the inverse critical temperature βcr(γ) is strictly above the mean-field value (equal to 1), namely that there exists C>0 so that for any b<C, βcr(γ)> 1 + bγ2log γ?1 for all γ sufficiently small. The temperature shift Cγ2log γ?1 is to leading orders equal to the covariance of the magnetization fluctuations.  相似文献

The gluon and quark distributions of the nucleon are evaluated using the Altarelli-Parisi equations with the input distributions atQ 0 2 =5 GeV2 for seaquarks and gluons modified by the factor (ax ?0.5+b). The new parametrization is constrained to satisfy the momentum sum rule and after backward evolution (fromQ 0 2 =5 GeV2 toQ 2=1 GeV2) it is also constrained to give approximately 1/x behaviour of the sea-quark and gluon distributions in the limited region of smallx (10?3<x<10?2 or so). The theoretical predictions relevant for HERA for structure functionsF 2(x, Q 2) andF L (x, Q 2) in the region of very smallx(10?4<x<10?2) and largeQ 2 and for the cross-sectionσ* pΨX) are presented. The lifetimes of several negative-parity states in126,130Xe and132Ba have been determined by means of the generalized centroid-shift method. The reactions124,128Te(α,2n) and122Sn(13C, 3n) have been used. Following results were obtained:T 1/2(2758 keV)=1.3±0.2 ns in126Xe,T 1/2(2060 keV)=0.20±0.10 ns,T 1/2(2104 keV)=0.50±0.10 ns,T 1/2(2376 keV)=0.30±0.10 ns andT 1/2(2973 keV)=4.6±0.4 ns in130Xe as well asT 1/2(2120 keV)=0.40 ?0.10 +0.20 ns in132Ba. A systematics of the B(E2; 7 ? 1 ?5 1 ? ) values in theN=76 nuclei is presented. Electric dipole and quadrupole transition rates are discussed in terms of octupole and quadrupole collectivity. The structure of the 5 1 ? and 7 1 ? states is considered. Nuclear reactions:124,128Te(α, 2 n ),E=26 MeV,122Sn (13C, 3n),E=53 MeV; measuredE γ I γ , γ-r.f. DeducedT 1/2, B(σL) in126,130Xe and132Ba. A reinvestigation of theL X-ray-gamma angular correlations following the decay of139Ce is made by using a Si(Li) semiconductor detector asL X-ray detector. Coincidence measurements at five different angles were made between the 166-keV gamma ray and theL X-ray spectrum. The data were handled in two different ways: (i) the counts under theL l +L α+L β+L γ peaks were taken; (ii) the counts under theL l +L α+L β peaks were only considered. Chance coincidences as well as coincidences background were taken into account. The results indicate that no anisotropy is to be found within a margin of error of 6×10?3.  相似文献
