In this paper a nonautonomous two-species n-patches system is studied.Within each patch,there are two cooperative species and their dynamics are described by the LotkaVolterra model.Each species can diffuse independently and discretely between its interpatch and intrapatch.By constructing a suitable Liapunov function,some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence of a unique globally asymptotically stable positive almost periodic solution.

These conditions utilize Lyapunov functions to determine the uniform stability and uniform asymptotic stability of functional differential equations. These conditions for the partial stability develop the Razumikhin theorems on uniform stability and uniform asymptotic stability of functional differential equations. An example is presented which demonstrates these results and gives insight into the new stability conditions.

Asymptotic Stability of Equilibrium State to the Mixed Initial-Boundary Value Problem for Quasilinear Hyperbolic Systems

Under the internal dissipative condition, the Cauchy problem for inhomogeneous quasilinear hyperbolic systems with small initial data admits a unique global C1 solution, which exponentially decays to zero as t → +∞, while if the coefficient matrixΘ of boundary conditions satisfies the boundary dissipative condition, the mixed initialboundary value problem with small initial data for quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear terms of at least second order admits a unique global C1 solution, which also exponentially decays to zero as t → +∞. In this paper, under more general conditions, the authors investigate the combined effect of the internal dissipative condition and the boundary dissipative condition, and prove the global existence and exponential decay of the C1 solution to the mixed initial-boundary value problem for quasilinear hyperbolic systems with small initial data. This stability result is applied to a kind of models, and an example is given to show the possible exponential instability if the corresponding conditions are not satisfied.

The Stability of Subharmonic Solutions for Hamiltonian Systems

In this paper, by using the dual Morse index theory, we study the stability of subharmonic solutions of the non-autonomous Hamiltonian systems. We obtain a (infinite) sequence of geometrically distinct periodic solutions such that every element has at most one direction of instability (i.e., it has at least 2n − 2 Floquet multipliers lying on the unit circle in the complex plane if the periodic solution is non-degenerate) or it is elliptic (all its 2n Floquet multipliers are lying on the unit circle) if the periodic solution is degenerate.
