In his 1984 AMS Memoir, Andrews introduced the \(k\)-colored generalized Frobenius partition function \(c\phi _k(n)\) which denotes the number of generalized Frobenius partitions of \(n\) with \(k\) colors. Recently, Baruah and Sarmah, Lin, and Sellers established several Ramanujan-type congruences for \(c\phi _4(n)\). In this paper, employing some theta identities due to Ramanujan, the \((p, k)\)-parametrization of theta functions given by Alaca, Alaca, and Williams, and some results of Baruah and Sarmah, we prove that \(c\phi _4(20n+11)\equiv 0\ (\mathrm{mod}\ 5)\).  相似文献

Let \(\bar{p}(n)\) denote the number of overpartitions of n. Fortin et al. and Hirschhorn and Sellers established some congruences modulo powers of 2 for \(\bar{p}(n)\). Recently, Xia and Yao found several congruences modulo powers of 2 and 3. In particular, they proved that \(\bar{p}(96n+12)\equiv 0 \ (\mathrm{mod}\ 9)\) and \(\bar{p}(24n+19)\equiv 0\ (\mathrm{mod\ }27)\). In this paper, we generalize the two congruences and establish several new infinite families of congruences modulo 9 and 27 for \(\bar{p}(n)\). Furthermore, we prove some strange congruences modulo 9 and 27 for \(\bar{p}(n)\) by employing some results due to Cooper et al. For example, we prove that for \(k\ge 0\), \(\bar{p}(4^{k+1})\equiv 2^{k+3}+6(-1)^k\ (\mathrm{mod} \ 27) \) and \(\bar{p}\left( 7^{2k}\right) \equiv 2-2k\ (\mathrm{mod}\ 9)\). We also present two conjectures on congruences for \(\bar{p}(n)\).  相似文献

In this note, we establish two identities of \((q;\,q)_\infty ^8\) by using Jacobi’s four-square theorem and two of Ramanujan’s identities. As an important consequence, we present one Ramanujan-style proof of the congruence \(p_{-3}(11n+7)\equiv 0\ (\mathrm{mod\ }11)\), where \(p_{-3}(n)\) denotes the number of 3-color partitions of n.  相似文献

Let \(B_\ell (n)\) denote the number of \(\ell \)-regular bipartitions of n. In this paper, we prove several infinite families of congruences satisfied by \(B_\ell (n)\) for \(\ell \in {\{5,7,13\}}\). For example, we show that for all \(\alpha >0\) and \(n\ge 0\),
$$\begin{aligned} B_5\left( 4^\alpha n+\frac{5\times 4^\alpha -2}{6}\right)\equiv & {} 0 \ (\text {mod}\ 5),\\ B_7\left( 5^{8\alpha }n+\displaystyle \frac{5^{8\alpha }-1}{2}\right)\equiv & {} 3^\alpha B_7(n)\ (\text {mod}\ 7) \end{aligned}$$
and
$$\begin{aligned} B_{13}\left( 5^{12\alpha }n+5^{12\alpha }-1\right) \equiv B_{13}(n)\ (\text {mod}\ 13). \end{aligned}$$

The notion of broken k-diamond partitions was introduced by Andrews and Paule in 2007. For a fixed positive integer k, let \(\Delta _k(n)\) denote the number of broken k-diamond partitions of n. Recently, Paule and Radu conjectured two relations on \(\Delta _5(n)\) which were proved by Xiong and Jameson, respectively. In this paper, employing these relations, we prove that, for any prime p with \(p\equiv 1\ (\mathrm{mod}\ 4)\), there exists an integer \(\lambda (p)\in \{2,\ 3,\ 5,\ 6,\ 11\}\) such that, for \(n, \alpha \ge 0\), if \(p\not \mid (2n+1)\), then
$$\begin{aligned} \Delta _5\left( 11p^{\lambda (p)(\alpha +1)-1} n+\frac{11p^{\lambda (p)(\alpha +1)-1}+1}{2}\right) \equiv 0\ (\mathrm{mod}\ 11). \end{aligned}$$
Moreover, some non-standard congruences modulo 11 for \(\Delta _5(n)\) are deduced. For example, we prove that, for \(\alpha \ge 0\), \(\Delta _5\left( \frac{11\times 5^{5\alpha }+1}{2}\right) \equiv 7\ (\mathrm{mod}\ 11)\).

Let \(\bar{p}(n)\) denote the number of overpartitions of \(n\). Recently, Fortin–Jacob–Mathieu and Hirschhorn–Sellers independently obtained 2-, 3- and 4-dissections of the generating function for \(\bar{p}(n)\) and derived a number of congruences for \(\bar{p}(n)\) modulo 4, 8 and 64 including \(\bar{p}(8n+7)\equiv 0 \pmod {64}\) for \(n\ge 0\). In this paper, we give a 16-dissection of the generating function for \(\bar{p}(n)\) modulo 16 and show that \(\bar{p}(16n+14)\equiv 0\pmod {16}\) for \(n\ge 0\). Moreover, using the \(2\)-adic expansion of the generating function for \(\bar{p}(n)\) according to Mahlburg, we obtain that \(\bar{p}(\ell ^2n+r\ell )\equiv 0\pmod {16}\), where \(n\ge 0\), \(\ell \equiv -1\pmod {8}\) is an odd prime and \(r\) is a positive integer with \(\ell \not \mid r\). In particular, for \(\ell =7\) and \(n\ge 0\), we get \(\bar{p}(49n+7)\equiv 0\pmod {16}\) and \(\bar{p}(49n+14)\equiv 0\pmod {16}\). We also find four congruence relations: \(\bar{p}(4n)\equiv (-1)^n\bar{p}(n) \pmod {16}\) for \(n\ge 0\), \(\bar{p}(4n)\equiv (-1)^n\bar{p}(n)\pmod {32}\) where \(n\) is not a square of an odd positive integer, \(\bar{p}(4n)\equiv (-1)^n\bar{p}(n)\pmod {64}\) for \(n\not \equiv 1,2,5\pmod {8}\) and \(\bar{p}(4n)\equiv (-1)^n\bar{p}(n)\pmod {128}\) for \(n\equiv 0\pmod {4}\).  相似文献

We estimate exponential sums over a non-homogenous Beatty sequence with restriction on strongly q-additive functions. We then apply our result in a few special cases to obtain an asymptotic formula for the number of primes \(p=\lfloor \alpha n +\beta \rfloor \) and \(f(p)\equiv a (\mathrm{mod\,}b)\), with \(n\ge N \), where \(\alpha \), \(\beta \) are real numbers and f is a strongly q-additive function (for example, the sum of digits function in base q is a strongly q-additive function). We also prove that for any fixed integer \(k\ge 3 \), all sufficiently large \(N\equiv k (\mathrm{mod\,}2) \) could be represented as a sum of k prime numbers from a Beatty sequence with restriction on strongly q-additive functions.  相似文献

The notion of broken k-diamond partitions was introduced by Andrews and Paule. Let \(\Delta _k(n)\) denote the number of broken k-diamond partitions of n for a fixed positive integer k. Recently, Paule and Radu conjectured that \(\Delta _3(343n+82)\equiv \Delta _3(343n+278)\equiv \Delta _3(343n+327)\equiv 0\ (\mathrm{mod} \ 7)\). Jameson confirmed this conjecture and proved that \(\Delta _3(343n+229)\equiv 0 \ (\mathrm{mod} \ 7)\) by using the theory of modular forms. In this paper, we prove several infinite families of Ramanujan-type congruences modulo 7 for \(\Delta _3(n)\) by establishing a recurrence relation for a sequence related to \(\Delta _3(7n+5)\). In the process, we also give new proofs of the four congruences due to Paule and Radu, and Jameson.  相似文献

In his 1984 AMS Memoir, Andrews introduced the family of functions \(c\phi _k(n),\) which denotes the number of generalized Frobenius partitions of \(n\) into \(k\) colors. Recently, Baruah and Sarmah, Lin, Sellers, and Xia established several Ramanujan-like congruences for \(c\phi _4(n)\) relative to different moduli. In this paper, employing classical results in \(q\)-series, the well-known theta functions of Ramanujan, and elementary generating function manipulations, we prove a characterization of \(c\phi _4(10n+1)\) modulo 5 which leads to an infinite set of Ramanujan-like congruences modulo 5 satisfied by \(c\phi _4.\) This work greatly extends the recent work of Xia on \(c\phi _4\) modulo 5.  相似文献

Recently, Andrews, Dixit, and Yee introduced a new partition function \(p_{\omega }(n)\) that denotes the number of partitions of n in which each odd part is less than twice the smallest part. The generating function of \(p_{\omega }(n)\) is associated with the third-order mock theta function \(\omega (q)\). Andrews, Passary, Sellers, and Yee proved three infinite families of congruences modulo 4 and 8 for \(p_{\omega }(n)\) and provided elementary proofs of congruences modulo 5 for \(p_{\omega }(n)\) which were first discovered by Waldherr. In this paper, we prove some new congruences modulo 5 and powers of 2 for \(p_{\omega }(n)\). In particular, we obtain some non-standard congruences for \(p_{\omega }(n)\). For example, we prove that for \(k\ge 0\), \( p_{\omega }\left( \frac{7\times 5^{2k+1}+1 }{3}\right) \equiv (-1)^k \ (\mathrm{mod}\ 5) \) and \( p_\omega \left( \frac{2^{2k+7}+1}{3}\right) \equiv 1251 \times (-1)^k \ (\mathrm{mod}\ 2^{11})\).  相似文献

Let \(n\ge 3, \Omega \) be a bounded, simply connected and semiconvex domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(L_{\Omega }:=-\Delta +V\) a Schrödinger operator on \(L^2 (\Omega )\) with the Dirichlet boundary condition, where \(\Delta \) denotes the Laplace operator and the potential \(0\le V\) belongs to the reverse Hölder class \(RH_{q_0}({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) for some \(q_0\in (\max \{n/2,2\},\infty ]\). Assume that the growth function \(\varphi :\,{\mathbb {R}}^n\times [0,\infty ) \rightarrow [0,\infty )\) satisfies that \(\varphi (x,\cdot )\) is an Orlicz function and \(\varphi (\cdot ,t)\in {\mathbb {A}}_{\infty }({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights). Let \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) be the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space whose elements are restrictions of elements of the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space, associated with \(L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n}:=-\Delta +V\) on \({\mathbb {R}}^n\), to \(\Omega \). In this article, the authors show that the operators \(VL^{-1}_\Omega \) and \(\nabla ^2L^{-1}_\Omega \) are bounded from \(L^1(\Omega )\) to weak-\(L^1(\Omega )\), from \(L^p(\Omega )\) to itself, with \(p\in (1,2]\), and also from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to the Musielak–Orlicz space \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself. As applications, the boundedness of \(\nabla ^2{\mathbb {G}}_D\) on \(L^p(\Omega )\), with \(p\in (1,2]\), and from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself is obtained, where \({\mathbb {G}}_D\) denotes the Dirichlet Green operator associated with \(L_\Omega \). All these results are new even for the Hardy space \(H^1_{L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\), which is just \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) with \(\varphi (x,t):=t\) for all \(x\in {\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(t\in [0,\infty )\).  相似文献

Let \(\Delta = \sum _{m=0}^\infty q^{(2m+1)^2} \in \mathbf {F}_2[[q]]\) be the reduction mod 2 of the \(\Delta \) series. A modular form of level 1, \(f=\sum _{n\geqslant 0} c(n) \,q^n\), with integer coefficients, is congruent modulo \(2\) to a polynomial in \(\Delta \). Let us set \(W_f(x)=\sum _{n\leqslant x,\ c(n)\text { odd }} 1\), the number of odd Fourier coefficients of \(f\) of index \(\leqslant x\). The order of magnitude of \(W_f(x)\) (for \(x\rightarrow \infty \)) has been determined by Serre in the seventies. Here, we give an asymptotic equivalent for \(W_f(x)\). Let \(p(n)\) be the partition function and \(A_0(x)\) (resp. \(A_1(x)\)) be the number of \(n\leqslant x\) such that \(p(n)\) is even (resp. odd). In the preceding papers, the second-named author has shown that \(A_0(x)\geqslant 0.28 \sqrt{x\;\log \log x}\) for \(x\geqslant 3\) and \(A_1(x)>\frac{4.57 \sqrt{x}}{\log x}\) for \(x\geqslant 7\). Here, it is proved that \(A_0(x)\geqslant 0.069 \sqrt{x}\;\log \log x\) holds for \(x>1\) and that \(A_1(x) \geqslant \frac{0.037 \sqrt{x}}{(\log x)^{7/8}}\) holds for \(x\geqslant 2\). The main tools used to prove these results are the determination of the order of nilpotence of a modular form of level-\(1\) modulo \(2\), and of the structure of the space of those modular forms as a module over the Hecke algebra, which have been given in a recent work of Serre and the second-named author.  相似文献

For any \(p\in (0,\,1]\), let \(H^{\Phi _p}(\mathbb {R}^n)\) be the Musielak–Orlicz Hardy space associated with the Musielak–Orlicz growth function \(\Phi _p\), defined by setting, for any \(x\in \mathbb {R}^n\) and \(t\in [0,\,\infty )\),
$$\begin{aligned}&\Phi _{p}(x,\,t)\\&\quad := {\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} \displaystyle \frac{t}{\log {(e+t)}+[t(1+|x|)^n]^{1-p}}&{} \quad \text {when}\ n(1/p-1)\notin \mathbb N \cup \{0\},\\ \displaystyle \frac{t}{\log (e+t)+[t(1+|x|)^n]^{1-p}[\log (e+|x|)]^p}&{} \quad \text {when}\ n(1/p-1)\in \mathbb N\cup \{0\}, \end{array}\right. } \end{aligned}$$
which is the sharp target space of the bilinear decomposition of the product of the Hardy space \(H^p(\mathbb {R}^n)\) and its dual. Moreover, \(H^{\Phi _1}(\mathbb {R}^n)\) is the prototype appearing in the real-variable theory of general Musielak–Orlicz Hardy spaces. In this article, the authors find a new structure of the space \(H^{\Phi _p}(\mathbb {R}^n)\) by showing that, for any \(p\in (0,\,1]\), \(H^{\Phi _p}(\mathbb {R}^n)=H^{\phi _0}(\mathbb {R}^n) +H_{W_p}^p({{{\mathbb {R}}}^n})\) and, for any \(p\in (0,\,1)\), \(H^{\Phi _p}(\mathbb {R}^n)=H^{1}(\mathbb {R}^n) +H_{W_p}^p({{{\mathbb {R}}}^n})\), where \(H^1(\mathbb {R}^n)\) denotes the classical real Hardy space, \(H^{\phi _0}({{{\mathbb {R}}}^n})\) the Orlicz–Hardy space associated with the Orlicz function \(\phi _0(t):=t/\log (e+t)\) for any \(t\in [0,\infty )\), and \(H_{W_p}^p(\mathbb {R}^n)\) the weighted Hardy space associated with certain weight function \(W_p(x)\) that is comparable to \(\Phi _p(x,1)\) for any \(x\in \mathbb {R}^n\). As an application, the authors further establish an interpolation theorem of quasilinear operators based on this new structure.

A partial \((k-1)\)-spread in \({\text {PG}}(n-1,q)\) is a collection of \((k-1)\)-dimensional subspaces with trivial intersection. So far, the maximum size of a partial \((k-1)\)-spread in \({\text {PG}}(n-1,q)\) was known for the cases \(n\equiv 0\pmod k\), \(n\equiv 1\pmod k\), and \(n\equiv 2\pmod k\) with the additional requirements \(q=2\) and \(k=3\). We completely resolve the case \(n\equiv 2\pmod k\) for the binary case \(q=2\).  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate solutions of the hyperbolic Poisson equation \(\Delta _{h}u(x)=\psi (x)\), where \(\psi \in L^{\infty }(\mathbb {B}^{n}, {\mathbb R}^n)\) and
$$\begin{aligned} \Delta _{h}u(x)= (1-|x|^2)^2\Delta u(x)+2(n-2)\left( 1-|x|^2\right) \sum _{i=1}^{n} x_{i} \frac{\partial u}{\partial x_{i}}(x) \end{aligned}$$
is the hyperbolic Laplace operator in the n-dimensional space \(\mathbb {R}^n\) for \(n\ge 2\). We show that if \(n\ge 3\) and \(u\in C^{2}(\mathbb {B}^{n},{\mathbb R}^n) \cap C(\overline{\mathbb {B}^{n}},{\mathbb R}^n )\) is a solution to the hyperbolic Poisson equation, then it has the representation \(u=P_{h}[\phi ]-G_{ h}[\psi ]\) provided that \(u\mid _{\mathbb {S}^{n-1}}=\phi \) and \(\int _{\mathbb {B}^{n}}(1-|x|^{2})^{n-1} |\psi (x)|\,d\tau (x)<\infty \). Here \(P_{h}\) and \(G_{h}\) denote Poisson and Green integrals with respect to \(\Delta _{h}\), respectively. Furthermore, we prove that functions of the form \(u=P_{h}[\phi ]-G_{h}[\psi ]\) are Lipschitz continuous.

Let f be a \(C^{1+\alpha }\) diffeomorphism of a compact Riemannian manifold and \(\mu \) an ergodic hyperbolic measure with positive entropy. We prove that for every continuous potential \(\phi \) there exists a sequence of basic sets \(\Omega _n\) such that the topological pressure \(P(f|\Omega _n,\phi )\) converges to the free energy \(P_{\mu }(\phi ) = h(\mu ) + \int \phi {d\mu }\). We also prove that for a suitable class of potentials \(\phi \) there exists a sequence of basic sets \(\Omega _n\) such that \(P(f|\Omega _n,\phi ) \rightarrow P(\phi )\).  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with the family \(\widetilde{S}^t_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\) (\(t\ge 0\)) of normalized biholomorphic mappings on the Euclidean unit ball \(\mathbb {B}^n\) in \({\mathbb {C}}^n\) that can be embedded in normal Loewner chains whose normalizations are given by time-dependent operators \(A\in \widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\), where \(\widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\) is a family of measurable mappings from \([0,\infty )\) into \(L({\mathbb {C}}^n)\) which satisfy certain natural assumptions. In particular, we consider extreme points and support points associated with the compact family \(\widetilde{S}^t_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\), where \(A\in \widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\). We prove that if \(f(z,t)=V(t)^{-1}z+\cdots \) is a normal Loewner chain such that \(V(s)f(\cdot ,s)\in \mathrm{ex}\,\widetilde{S}^s_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\) (resp. \(V(s)f(\cdot ,s)\in \mathrm{supp}\,\widetilde{S}^s_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\)), then \(V(t)f(\cdot ,t)\in \mathrm{ex}\, \widetilde{S}^t_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\), for all \(t\ge s\) (resp. \(V(t)f(\cdot ,t)\in \mathrm{supp}\,\widetilde{S}^t_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\), for all \(t\ge s\)), where V(t) is the unique solution on \([0,\infty )\) of the initial value problem: \(\frac{d V}{d t}(t)=-A(t)V(t)\), a.e. \(t\ge 0\), \(V(0)=I_n\). Also, we obtain an example of a bounded support point for the family \(\widetilde{S}_A^t(\mathbb {B}^2)\), where \(A\in \widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\) is a certain time-dependent operator. We also consider the notion of a reachable family with respect to time-dependent linear operators \(A\in \widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\), and obtain characterizations of extreme/support points associated with these families of bounded biholomorphic mappings on \(\mathbb {B}^n\). Useful examples and applications yield that the study of the family \(\widetilde{S}^t_A(\mathbb {B}^n)\) for time-dependent operators \(A\in \widetilde{\mathcal {A}}\) is basically different from that in the case of constant time-dependent linear operators.  相似文献

For nonnegative integers qnd, let \(A_q(n,d)\) denote the maximum cardinality of a code of length n over an alphabet [q] with q letters and with minimum distance at least d. We consider the following upper bound on \(A_q(n,d)\). For any k, let \(\mathcal{C}_k\) be the collection of codes of cardinality at most k. Then \(A_q(n,d)\) is at most the maximum value of \(\sum _{v\in [q]^n}x(\{v\})\), where x is a function \(\mathcal{C}_4\rightarrow {\mathbb {R}}_+\) such that \(x(\emptyset )=1\) and \(x(C)=\!0\) if C has minimum distance less than d, and such that the \(\mathcal{C}_2\times \mathcal{C}_2\) matrix \((x(C\cup C'))_{C,C'\in \mathcal{C}_2}\) is positive semidefinite. By the symmetry of the problem, we can apply representation theory to reduce the problem to a semidefinite programming problem with order bounded by a polynomial in n. It yields the new upper bounds \(A_4(6,3)\le 176\), \(A_4(7,3)\le 596\), \(A_4(7,4)\le 155\), \(A_5(7,4)\le 489\), and \(A_5(7,5)\le 87\).  相似文献

For \(p\in [1,\infty ]\), we establish criteria for the one-sided invertibility of binomial discrete difference operators \({{\mathcal {A}}}=aI-bV\) on the space \(l^p=l^p(\mathbb {Z})\), where \(a,b\in l^\infty \), I is the identity operator and the isometric shift operator V is given on functions \(f\in l^p\) by \((Vf)(n)=f(n+1)\) for all \(n\in \mathbb {Z}\). Applying these criteria, we obtain criteria for the one-sided invertibility of binomial functional operators \(A=aI-bU_\alpha \) on the Lebesgue space \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) for every \(p\in [1,\infty ]\), where \(a,b\in L^\infty (\mathbb {R}_+)\), \(\alpha \) is an orientation-preserving bi-Lipschitz homeomorphism of \([0,+\infty ]\) onto itself with only two fixed points 0 and \(\infty \), and \(U_\alpha \) is the isometric weighted shift operator on \(L^p(\mathbb {R}_+)\) given by \(U_\alpha f= (\alpha ^\prime )^{1/p}(f\circ \alpha )\).
