A series of Cu(I) complexes with a [Cu(NN)(PP)](+) moiety, [Cu(phen)(pba)](BF(4)) (1a), [Cu(2)(phen)(2)(pbaa)](BF(4))(2) (2a), [Cu(2)(phen)(2)(pnaa)](BF(4))(2) (3a), [Cu(2)(phen)(2)(pbbaa)](BF(4))(2) (4a), [Cu(dmp)(pba)](BF(4)) (1b), [Cu(2)(dmp)(2)(pbaa)](BF(4))(2) (2b), [Cu(2)(dmp)(2)(pnaa)](BF(4))(2) (3b) and [Cu(2)(dmp)(2)(pbbaa)](BF(4))(2) (4b) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, pba = N,N-bis((diphenylphosphino)methyl)benzenamine, pbaa = N,N,N',N'-tetrakis((diphenylphosphino)methyl)benzene-1,4-diamine, pnaa = N,N,N',N'-tetrakis((diphenylphosphino)methyl)naphthalene-1,5-diamine and pbbaa = N,N,N',N'-tetrakis((diphenylphosphino)methyl)biphenyl-4,4'-diamine), were rationally designed and synthesized. These complexes were characterized by (1)H and (31)P NMR, electrospray mass spectrometry, elemental analysis and X-ray crystal structure analysis. Introduction of different central arene spacers (phenyl, naphthyl, biphenyl) into ligands, resulting in the size variation of these complexes, aims to tune the photophysical properties of the complexes. Each Cu(I) ion in these complexes adopts a distorted tetrahedral geometry constructed by the chelating diimine and phosphine groups. Intermolecular C-H···π and/or π···π interactions are involved in the solid states. The dmp-containing complex exhibits better emission relative to the corresponding phen complex due to the steric encumbrance of bulky alkyl groups. Furthermore, for complexes with identical diimine but different phosphine ligands, the tendency of increased emission lifetime as well as blue-shifted emission in the solid state follows with the decrease in size of complexes. Intermolecular C-H···π interactions have an influence on the final solid state photophysical properties through vibrationally relaxed non-radiative energy transfer in the excited state. Smaller-sized complexes show better photophysical properties due to less vibrationally relaxed behavior related to flexible C-H···π bonds. Nevertheless, the tendency for increased quantum yield and emission lifetime, as well as blue-shifted emission in dilute solution goes with the increase in size of complexes. The central arene ring (phenyl, naphthyl or biphenyl) has an influence on the final photophysical properties. The larger the π-conjugated extension of central arene ring is, the better the photophysical properties of complex are. The rigid and large-sized complex 3b, with a high quantum yield and long lifetime, is the best luminophore among these complexes.  相似文献

We report crystalline mixed-ligand copper complexes with phenanthroline and isocyanides with almost millesecond emission lifetimes that are efficient dioxygen sensors. The oxygen sensitivity of the prototype ([Cu(CN-xylyl)(2)(dmp)]tfpb, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline; CN-xylyl = 2,6-dimethylphenylisocyanide; tfpb = tetrakis(bis-3,5-trifluoromethylphenylborate) is 38 times better than that of [Ru(phen)(3)]tfpb(2) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline).  相似文献

Deprotonation of the N-thiophosphorylated thioureas RC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)(2) (R = Me(2)N, HL(I); iPrNH, HL(II); 2,6-Me(2)C(6)H(3)NH, HL(III), 2,4,6-Me(3)C(6)H(2)NH, HL(IV), aza-15-crown-5, HL(V)) and reaction with CuI or Cu(NO(3))(2) in aqueous EtOH leads to the polynuclear complexes [Cu(4)(L(I)-S,S')(4)], [Cu(8)(L(II)-S,S')(8)], and [Cu(3)(L(III-V)-S,S')(3)]. The structures of these compounds were investigated by IR, (1)H, (31)P{(1)H} NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy and elemental analyses. The crystal structures of [Cu(4)L(I)(4)], [Cu(8)L(II)(8)], [Cu(3)L(III,IV)(3)] were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Reaction of the deprotonated ligands (L(I-V))(-) with a mixture of CuI and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or PPh(3) leads to the mixed-ligand mononuclear complexes [Cu(phen)L(I-V)], [Cu(PPh(3))L(I-V)] or [Cu(PPh(3))(2)L(I-V)]. The same mixed-ligand complexes were obtained from the reaction of [Cu(4)L(I)(4)], [Cu(8)L(II)(8)], [Cu(3)L(III-V)(3)] with phen or PPh(3).  相似文献

Reactions between the Os(VI)-nitrido complexes, [OsVI(L2)(Cl)3(N)] (L2 = 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) ([1]), 4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine (Me2bpy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), and 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline (Ph2phen)), and bis-(triphenylphosphoranylidene)ammonium azide (PPNN3) in dry CH3CN at 60 degrees C under N2 give the corresponding Os(IV)-azidoimido complexes, [OsIV(L2)(Cl)3(NN3)]- (L2 = bpy = [2]-, L2 = Me2bpy = [3]-, L2 = phen = [4]-, and L2 = Ph2phen = [5]-) as their PPN+ salts. The formulation of the N42- ligand has been substantiated by 15N-labeling, IR, and 15N NMR measurements. Hydroxylation of [2]- at Nalpha with O<--NMe3.3H2O occurs to give the Os(IV)-azidohydroxoamido complex, [OsIV(bpy)(Cl)3(N(OH)N3)] ([6]), which, when deprotonated, undergoes dinitrogen elimination to give the Os(II)-dinitrogen oxide complex, [OsII(bpy)(Cl)3(N2O)]- ([7]-). They are the first well-characterized examples of each kind of complex for Os.  相似文献

The synthesis of two high nuclearity lanthanoid clusters demonstrates the versatility of the carbonate anion as a robust cluster forming agent, potentially allowing for the formation of otherwise inaccessible core topologies. The complexes, [Gd(14)(CO(3))(13)(ccnm)(9)(OH)(H(2)O)(6)(phen)(13)(NO(3))](CO(3))(2.5)·(phen)(0.5) () and [Dy(14)(CO(3))(13)(ccnm)(10)(OH)(H(2)O)(6)(phen)(13)](CO(3))(2.5)·(phen)(0.5) () (ccnm = carbamoylcyanonitrosomethanide, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), contain a [Ln(14)(CO(3))(13)(OH)] core in which the carbonate anions display four unique coordination modes. The complexes are chiral, and the ccnm ligands also display four unique coordination modes. Extensive intra- and intermolecular π-π stacking between phen ligands leads to the formation of 1D chains in the crystal structure. Both complexes display magnetic properties that are indicative of antiferromagnetic coupling, with complex displaying behaviour consistent with possible single molecule magnet properties.  相似文献

Two novel RuII complexes [Ru(phen)2(PNOPH)]2+ and [Ru(dmp)2 (PNOPH)]2+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, PNOPH = 2-(4-nitrophenyl)imidazo-[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline) and their deprotoned complexes were synthesized and characterized by ES–MS, 1H - n.m.r, u.v.–vis. and electrochemistry. The crystal structure of the deprotonated complex [Ru(dmp)2 (PNOP)][ClO4] · CH3CN was determined by means of X-ray single crystal diffraction. Nonlinear optical properties of the RuII complexes were investigated by Z-scan techniques in DMF solution, and all of them exhibited both NLO absorption and self-defocusing effect. The corresponding effective NLO susceptibilities |3 | of the complexes are 2.39 × 10-12–5.80 × 10-12 esu.  相似文献

A new class of ternary copper(II) complexes of formulation [Cu(L(n)B](ClO(4)) (1-4), where HL(n) is a NSO-donor Schiff base (HL(1), HL(2)) and B is a NN-donor heterocyclic base viz. 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp), are prepared, structurally characterized, and their DNA binding and photocleavage activities studied in the presence of red light. Ternary complex [Cu(L(3))(phen)](ClO(4)) (5) containing an ONO-donor Schiff base and a binary complex [Cu(L(2))(2)] (6) are also prepared and structurally characterized for mechanistic investigations of the DNA cleavage reactions. While 1-4 have a square pyramidal (4 + 1) CuN(3)OS coordination geometry with the Schiff base bonded at the equatorial sites, 5 has a square pyramidal (4 + 1) geometry with CuN(3)O(2) coordination with the alcoholic oxygen at the axial site, and 6 has a square planar trans-CuN(2)O(2) geometry. Binding of the complexes 1-4 to calf thymus DNA shows the relative order: phen > dmp. Mechanistic investigations using distamycin reveal minor groove binding for the complexes. The phen complexes containing the Schiff base with a thiomethyl or thiophenyl moiety show red light induced photocleavage. The dmp complexes are essentially photonuclease inactive. Complexes 5 and 6 are cleavage inactive under similar photolytic conditions. A 10 microM solution of 1 displays a 72% cleavage of SC DNA (0.5 microg) on an exposure of 30 min using a 603 nm Nd:YAG pulsed laser (60 mJ/P) in Tris-HCl buffer (pH 7.2). Significant cleavage of 1 is also observed at 694 nm using a Ruby laser. Complex 1 is cleavage inactive under argon or nitrogen atmosphere. It shows a more enhanced cleavage in pure oxygen than in air. Enhancement of cleavage in D(2)O and inhibition with sodium azide addition indicate the possibility of the formation of singlet oxygen as a reactive intermediate leading to DNA cleavage. The d-d band excitation with red light shows significant enhancement of cleavage yield. The results indicate that the phen ligand is necessary for DNA binding of the complex. Both the sulfur-to-copper charge transfer band and copper d-d band excitations helped the DNA cleavage. While the absorption of a red photon induces a metal d-d transition, excitation at shorter visible wavelengths leads to the sulfur-to-copper charge transfer band excitation at the initial step of photocleavage. The excitation energy is subsequently transferred to ground state oxygen molecules to produce singlet oxygen that cleaves the DNA.  相似文献

A series of photoreactive complexes of the type Ru(terpy*)(N-N)(L)(2+), where terpy* is 4'-(3,5-ditertiobutylphenyl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, N-N is the bidentate chelate phen or dmp (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline), and L is the monodentate ligand dms, MeBN, or MeOBN (dms = dimethyl sulfide, MeBN = 2,6-dimethyl benzonitrile, MeOBN = 2,6-dimethoxybenzonitrile), has been synthesized and fully characterized by proton NMR spectroscopy, electrospray mass spectrometry, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The X-ray structures of four complexes were also obtained. In neat pyridine, the quantum yields for the photosubsitution of L by pyridine were measured and showed dramatic variations depending on the steric interactions between the spectator bidentate ligand and the leaving monodentate ligand L. The use of dmp instead of phen multiplied the photosubstitution efficiency by a factor of 20-50, depending on L. This effect could be qualitatively correlated to the distortions observed in the X-ray structures of the corresponding complexes. The highly distorted structure of Ru(terpy)(dmp)(dms)(PF(6))(2) showed a very high photosubsitution quantum yield phi = 0.36 in neat pyridine. The high photoreactivity of some of the compounds makes them particularly promising as components of future light-driven molecular machines.  相似文献

Reaction of dichlorotris(triphenylphosphine) ruthenium(II) [RuCl(2)(PPh(3))(3)] with 1,8-bis(2-pyridyl)-3,6-dithiaoctane (pdto), a (N(2)S(2)) tetradentate donor, yields a new compound [Ru(pdto)(PPh(3))Cl]Cl (1), which has been fully characterized. (1)H and (31)P NMR studies of 1 in acetonitrile at several temperatures show the substitution of both coordinated chloride and triphenylphosphine with two molecules of acetonitrile, as confirmed by the isolation of the complex [Ru(pdto)(CH(3)CN)(2)]Cl(2) (2). Cyclic voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical techniques allowed us to determine the electrochemical behavior of compound 1. The substitution of the chloride and triphenylphosphine by acetonitrile molecules in the Ru(II) coordination sphere of compound 1 was also established by electrochemical studies. The easy substitution of this complex led us to use it as starting material to synthesize the substituted phenanthroline coordination compounds with (pdto) and ruthenium(II), [Ru(pdto)(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)]Cl(2).4H(2)O (3), [Ru(pdto)(1,10-phenanthroline)]Cl(2).5H(2)O (4), [Ru(pdto)(5,6-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline)]Cl(2).5H(2)O (5), [Ru(pdto)(4,7-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline)]Cl(2).3H(2)O (6), and [Ru(pdto)(3,4,7,8-tetramethyl-1,10-phenanthroline)]Cl(2).4H(2)O (7). These compounds were fully characterized, and the crystal structure of 4 was obtained. Cyclic voltammetric and spectroelectrochemical techniques allowed us to determine their electrochemical behavior. The electrochemical oxidation processes in these compounds are related to the oxidation of ionic chlorides, and to the reversible transformation from Ru(II) to Ru(III). On the other hand, a single reduction process is associated to the reduction of the substituted phenanthroline in the coordination compound. The E(1/2) (phen/phen(-)) and E(1/2) (Ru(II)/Ru(III)) for the compounds (3-7) were evaluated, and, as expected, the modification of the substituted 1,10-phenanthrolines in the complexes also modifies the redox potentials. Correlations of both electrochemical potentials with pK(a) of the free 1,10-phenathrolines, lambda(max) MLCT transition band, and chemical shifts of phenanthrolines in these complexes were found, possibly as a consequence of the change in the electron density of the Ru(II) and the coordinated phenanthroline.  相似文献

A series of Cu(I) mixed-ligand complexes containing dmp (2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) and one of simple diphosphine ligands (Ph2P(CH2)nPPh2) were prepared. Among the complexes, [Cu(dppp)(dmp)]PF6 (n=3) and [Cu2(dppb)2(dmp)2](PF6)2 (n=4) were characterized by X-ray structure analyses. The dppp complex has been characterized as a mononuclear complex, while [Cu2(dppb)2(dmp)2]2+ exists as a dinuclear complex in which two dppb ligands bridge between the two Cu(I) atoms. Although the distorted tetrahedral structures around the central metals of the two complexes are similar, the P-Cu-P angles are different between the two complexes. All of the series of complexes show photoluminescence in solution, and the intensity of the luminescence increases with n (n=2-4). The non-radiative rate constants of the complexes decrease markedly with n although radiative rate constants of the complexes are similar.  相似文献

The new polypyridyl ligand MIP {MIP = 2-(2,3-methylenedioxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-f]1,10-phenanthroline} and its ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(phen)2(MIP)]2+ (1) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) and [Ru(dmp)2(MIP)]2+ (2) (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, MS and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The DNA-binding properties of the two complexes to calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA) were investigated by different spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements, as well as equilibrium dialysis and circular dichroism spectroscopy. The results suggest that complex 1 binds to CT-DNA through intercalation, and complex 2 binds to CT-DNA via a partial intercalative mode. This difference in binding mode probably is caused by the different ancillary ligands. Also, when irradiated at 400 nm, complex 1 was found to be a more-effective DNA-cleaving agent than complex 2.  相似文献

Four new 2,2'-bipyridine and 1,10-phenanthroline complexes, namely [Mn(phenca)(2)]·(H(2)O)(2) (1), [Cu(4)(phen)(4)(OH-)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](DMF)(4)(ClO(4)-)(4)(H(2)O) (2), [Cu(2)(2,2-bipy)(2)(C(2)O(4)2-)(H(2)O)(2)(NO(3))(2)] (3) and [Cu(2,2-bipy)(2)(ClO(4)-)](ClO(4)-) (4) (2,2'-bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, Hphenca = 1,10-phenanthroline-2-carboxylic acid) have been synthesized by a hydrothermal reaction. The products were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy and X-ray crystal diffraction. While strong hydrogen bonds play central roles in the formation of the 3D structure, the combined influence of the weak interactions such as π···π interactions is also evident in the structures. A preliminary investigation on the ion exchange properties of the complexes is presented.  相似文献

Cleavage of the Se-Se bond in [2-{O(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)](2)Se(2) (1) and [2-{MeN(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)](2)Se(2) (2) by treatment with SO(2)Cl(2), bromine or iodine (1 : 1 molar ratio) yielded [2-{O(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)]SeX [X = Cl (3), Br (4), I (5)] and [2-{MeN(CH(2)CH(2))(2)NCH(2)}C(6)H(4)]SeI (6). The compounds were characterized in solution by NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C, 15N, 77Se, 2D experiments). The solid-state molecular structures of 1-3, 4.HBr, 5 and 6 were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction. In all cases T-shaped coordination geometries, i.e. (C,N)SeSe (1, 2), (C,N)SeX (3, 5, 6; X = halogen) or CSeBr(2) (4.HBr), were found. Supramolecular associations in crystals based on hydrogen contacts are discussed.  相似文献

New mixed polypyridyl {HPIP = 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, dmb = 4,4-dimethyl-2,2-bipyridine} ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(phen)2(HPIP)]2+, [Ru(dmp)2(HPIP)]2+ and [Ru(dmb)2(HPIP)]2+ were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses 1H-n.m.r., u.v.–vis. spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Their DNA-binding properties were demonstrated by absorption, luminescence titrations, steady-state emission quenching and viscosity measurements. The results suggested that all the examined complexes bind with CT-DNA intercalatively. Methyl groups substituted at the 4,4-positions of bpy has no obvious effect on its DNA binding, whereas substituents at the 2- and 9-positions of phen have an impressive effect on its DNA-binding, as revealed by the decreased binding affinity.  相似文献

Simple Cu(I) complexes with unprecedented excited-state lifetimes.   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This report describes new, readily accessible copper(I) complexes that can exhibit unusually long-lived, high quantum yield emissions in fluid solution. The complexes are of the form [Cu(NN)(POP)]+ where NN denotes 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp) or 2,9-di-n-butyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dbp) and POP denotes bis[2-(diphenylphosphino)phenyl] ether. Modes of characterization include X-ray crystallography and cyclic voltammetry. The complexes each have a pseudotetrahedral coordination geometry and a Cu(II)/Cu(I) potential upward of +1.2 V vs Ag/AgCl. In room-temperature dichloromethane solution, charge-transfer excited states of the dmp and dbp derivatives exhibit respective emission quantum yields of 0.15 and 0.16 and corresponding excited-state lifetimes of 14.3 and 16.1 mus, respectively. Despite the fact that coordinating solvents usually quench charge-transfer emission from copper systems, the photoexcited dmp (dbp) complex retains a lifetime of 2.4 mus (5.4 mus) in methanol.  相似文献

The electron self-exchange rate constants of blue copper model complexes, [(-)-sparteine-N,N'](maleonitriledithiolato-S,S')copper ([Cu(SP)(mmt)])(0/)(-), bis(2,9-dimethy-1,10-phenanthroline)copper ([Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+)), and bis(1,10-phenanthroline)copper ([Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+)) have been determined from the rate constants of electron transfer from a homologous series of ferrocene derivatives to the copper(II) complexes in light of the Marcus theory of electron transfer. The resulting electron self-exchange rate constant increases in the order: [Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+) < [Cu(SP)(mmt)](0/)(-) < [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+), in agreement with the order of the smaller structural change between the copper(II) and copper(I) complexes due to the distorted tetragonal geometry. The dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC) were constructed using the copper complexes as redox couples to compare the photoelectrochemical responses with those using the conventional I(3)(-)/I(-) couple. The light energy conversion efficiency (eta) values under illumination of simulated solar light irradiation (100 mW/cm(2)) of DSSCs using [Cu(phen)(2)](2+/+), [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+), and [Cu(SP)(mmt)](0/)(-) were recorded as 0.1%, 1.4%, and 1.3%, respectively. The maximum eta value (2.2%) was obtained for a DSSC using the [Cu(dmp)(2)](2+/+) redox couple under the light irradiation of 20 mW/cm(2) intensity, where a higher open-circuit voltage of the cell was attained as compared to that of the conventional I(3)(-)/I(-) couple.  相似文献

Treatments of Mn(O(2)CR)(2) (R = Me, Ph) with NBu(4)MnO(4) in CH(3)CN or CH(3)CN/CH(2)Cl(2) in the presence of acetic acid, delta(1)-cyclohexenephosphonic acid (C(6)H(9)PO(3)H(2)), and 2,2'-bipyridine or 1,10-phenanthroline result in three novel dodecamanganese(III) clusters [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CMe)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(bipy)(3)] (1), [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CPh)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(bipy)(3)] (2), and [Mn(12)O(8)(O(2)CPh)(6)(O(3)PC(6)H(9))(7)(phen)(3)] (3). They have a similar Mn(12) core of [Mn(III)(12)(mu(4)-O)(3)(mu(3)-O)(5)(mu-O(3)P)(3)] with a new type of topologic structure. Solid-state dc magnetic susceptibility measurements of complexes 1-3 reveal that dominant antiferromagnetic interactions are propagated between the magnetic centers. The ac magnetic measurements suggest an S = 2 ground state for compounds 1 and 3 and an S = 3 ground state for compound 2.  相似文献

The perchlorate salts of two new ruthenium(II) complexes incorporating 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole are synthesized in good yield. Complexes [Ru(phen)2(PYNI)]2+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) 1 and [Ru(dmp)2(PYNI)]2+ (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, PYNI = 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole) 2 are fully characterized by elemental analysis, FAB-MS, ES-MS, 1H NMR and cyclic voltammetric methods. The DNA-binding behavior of the complexes have been studied by spectroscopic titration, viscosity measurements and thermal denaturation. Absorption titration and thermal denaturation studies reveal that these complexes are moderately strong binders of calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA), with their binding constants spanning the range (2.73–5.35) × 104 M?1. The experimental results show that 1 interacts with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) by intercalative mode, while 2 binds to CT-DNA by partial intercalation.  相似文献
