The hyperfine spectra of the 5s4d 3 D 1-5s20f, 5s4d 3 D 2-5s23f, and 5s 4d 3 D 3-5s32f transitions of87Sr (I=9/2) have been measured by collinear fast beam laser spectroscopy. The structure in the upper configurations is highly perturbed by fine structure splitting that is of comparable size to the hyperfine interaction energy. These perturbations can be adequately treated with conventional matrix diagonalization methods, using the 5s-electron magnetic dipole interaction terma 5s and the unperturbed fine structure splittings as input parameters. Additionally, hyperfine constants for the lower 5s4d 3 D configurations, including theA- andB-factors and a separation of the individuals- andd-electron contributions to these factors, are derived.  相似文献

The energy of the 4d 9 5s 2 2 D 5/2 metastable level in Ag I, which is the upper level of the very narrow 5s 2 S 1/2 – 4d 9 5s 2 2 D 5/2 two-photon transition at 661.2 nm, has been determined from precision measurements of the wavelengths of the 206.1 nm (5s 2 S 1/2 – 6p 2 P 3 2/0 ) and 547.5 nm (4d 9 5s 2 2 D 5/2 – 6p 2 P 3 2/0 ) lines emitted from a hollow-cathode discharge. The measured energy of the 4d 9 5s 2 2 D 5/2 level, 30 242.286(7) cm–1, is combined with the known hyperfine splittings and the estimated107Ag-109Ag isotope shift to obtain accurate absolute frequencies for the hyperfine components of the 661.2 nm transition. These results should help in the detection of the narrow 661.2 nm two-photon transition, which has been proposed as a new optical frequency standard.  相似文献

The angular distribution of the electric-field-inducedE1 radiation is asymmetric with respect to the electric field direction as a result of mixing of states of different parity. Measurement of this anisotropy in atomic calcium permits the experimental determination of the decay rate between the1 P and metastable1 D levels. We obtain the resultA(4s4p 1 P 1 0 ?5s4d 1 D 2)=(3.32±0.85±0.50)×103 s?1.  相似文献

We have computed the cross sections for the energy transfer process Cd(5p3P0) + Na(3s2S) → Cd(5s1S) + Na(4p2P) and for the state changing collision Na(4p2P) + Na(3s2S) → Na(3d2D) + Na(3s2S), based on theoretical interaction potentials for the NaCd and Na2 systems, respectively. Our calculations shed light on the interpretation of experiments with laser excited Na+Cd vapour mixtures [1]. It turns out that Cd(5p3P0), in rapid equilibrium with the doorway state Cd(5p3P1), efficiently transfers energy to Na, populating the 4p2P state. The collisions with ground state Na cause a very fast conversion of the 4p3P1 to the 3d2D state, from which the strongest emission is observed.  相似文献

The cross sections for the excitation energy transfer between the 32 P J states of sodium atoms by collisions with ground-state potassium atoms have been measured by resonant Doppler-free two-photon spectroscopy, where the population densities of directly pumped and collisionally excited Na(3P J )(J=1/2, 3/2) levels were probed by counter-propagating Na(3P J ) → Na(4D 3/2, 5/2) excitation and detected with the thermionic diode. Cross sections of σ(3P 1/2 → 3P 3/2)=190 Å2±20% and σ(3P 3/2 → 3P 1/2)=100 Å2±20% were found. The theoretical calculations taking into account the long-range interaction termsR ?6,R ?8 andR ?10 yield a value σ(3P 1/2 → 3P 3/2)=165 Å2. On the basis of these long-range interaction potentials the differential cross section has been calculated and compared with recently published experimental data. Very good agreement between the theoretical and experimental data was found.  相似文献

Accurate lifetimes measured by means of the cascade-free method based on laser excitation of a fast ion beam preexcited in a carbon foil are reported for four 2p 3d levels in NII. The lifetime results are: τ(2p 3d 3 D 1 0 )=0.209±0.007 ns, τ(2p 3d 3 D 2 0 )=0.219±0.007 ns, τ(2p 3d 3 D 3 0 )=0.217±0.005 ns, and τ(2p 3d 1 P 1 0 )=0.410±0.017 ns. These results are compared to theoretical and experimental lifetimes reported previously.  相似文献

The fine structure of the 1s5f and 1s5g levels of He I was measured using microwave spectroscopy. The helium atoms were excited by ion impact, and the eleven allowed 1s5f 2S+1 F J –1s5g 2S′+1 G J , transitions near ν≈15 GHz were induced and detected by measuring the 1s4d–1s2p or 1s3d–1s2p spectral-line intensities of the impact radiation as a function of the microwave frequency. The measured transition frequencies are in accord with theoretical values and, except for one transition frequency, with earlier experimental data. The existing discrepancy between these earlier data and theory could be solved.  相似文献

The lifetimes of the 4s4p 3 P 1 and 4s3d 1 D 2 metastable states of Ca have been studied using the time-of-flight technique. Two kinds of observations were performed. First, the exponential decay of the fluorescence, using a (continuous) dc discharge for excitation and then the velocity distribution of the radiating atoms, using a pulsed discharge, were measured. From the combined results of these measurements the lifetimes were derived. The lifetimes of the 4s4p 3 P 1 and 4s3d 1 D 2 states of Ca are determined to be 0.57±0.03 ms and 1.5±0.4 ms, respectively.  相似文献

The collisional behaviour of electronically excited silicon atoms in the optically metastable 3p2(1D2) state (0.781 eV) is investigated by time-resolved resonance absorption in the ultraviolet. Si(3 1D2) was generated by the repetitive pulsed irradiation of SiCl4 at λ > 165 nm in a flow system, and monitored by attenuation of resonance radiation at λ = 288.16 nm (4s(1P01) ← ep2(1D2)) using signal averaging. Absolute second-order rate constants (kR, cm3 molecule?1 s?1, 300 K) are reported for the gases: H2[(8.1 ± 1.5) × 10?11], O2[(2.3 ± 0.4) × 10?11], He (? 10?15) and SiCl4 [(2.9 ± 0.4) × 10?10]. These results are compared with the analogous data reported hitherto for Si(33PJ) and Si(3 1S0). Those for H2 and O2 are discussed within the context of symmetry arguments on the nature of the potential surfaces involved using the weak spin orbit coupling approximation. Finally, pulsed stimulated emission operating on the transition Si(3P2)(1So → 1D2) (λ = 1.0995 μ) was not detected in high energy pulse experiments using a confocal cavity, despite the population inversion between Si(3 1S0 and Si(3 1D2) observed by resonance absorption following the photolysis of SiCl4.  相似文献

Spin—orbit relaxation of I(52P12)(ΔE = 0.94 eV) by benzene-d6, has been studied at 297 K, using time-resolved atomic resonance fluorescence. A large isotope effect is observed, kC6H6 = (4.6 ± 0.7) × 10?13 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, and kC6D6 = (9.9 ± 1.0) × 10?15 cm3 molecule?1 s?1, despite evidence that formation of a bound collision complex may contribute to the quenching mechanism. The roles of resonant energy transfer channels, Franck—Condon factors and the density of final states, in the quenching process, are discussed.  相似文献

Using laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy the hyperfine structure of the even parity levels 4f 146s6d 3 D 1, 4f 14 6s8s 3 S 1 and 4f 13 5d6s6p (7/2, 5/2)J=1,2,3 as well as of the odd parity level 4f 14 6s6p 3 P 2 in neutral ytterbium has been investigated. The isotope shift of the transitions 4f 146s6p 3 P 0 → 4f 14 6s6p 3 D 1 and 4f 14 6s6p 3 P 2 → 4f 14 6s8s 3 S 1, 4f 13 5d6s6p (7/2, 5/2)J=1,2,3 could be measured with high accuracy. The results for the 4f 14 6s6p 3 D 1 level show a considerable influence of second order effects of the hyperfine interaction. The isotope shifts of the 4f 14 6s8s 3 S 1 and 4f 13 5d6s6p (7/2, 5/2)J=1 levels indicate a possible configuration mixing for these levels.  相似文献

The radiative lifetimes of the levels in the 3d 94s(1 D)4p configuration of Cu I are measured. The levels are excited from the metastable 3d 94s 2 2 D 3/2,5/2 levels. The metastable Cu atoms are generated in a pulsed hollow cathode discharge. The levels investigated are populated with a 35-ps laser pulse at wavelengths around 220 nm. The laser induced fluorescence signal is detected. The lifetime of the 3d 94s(3 D)4p 4 D 1/2 level is also determined by direct excitation from the ground state. A comparison with calculated literature values is given.  相似文献

Quenching of O(1D2) by COF2 has been investigated by time-resolved resonance fluorescence monitoring of the product O(3PJ) following 248 nm pulsed laser photolysis of O3. The rate constant for total removal of O(1D2) by COF2 is (7.4 ± 1.2) × 10?11 cm3 molecule?1 s?1. 71 ± 7% of the quenching interactions result in formation of O(3PJ).  相似文献

Absolute frequencies of hyperfine components of the 230.6 nm (5s 2 1 S 0?5s5p 3 P 1 0 ), 193.6 nm (5s5p 3 P 0 0 ?5s6s 3 S 1), 197.7 nm (5s5p 3 P 1 0 ?5s6s 3 S 1) and 207.9 nm (5s5p 3 P 2 0 ?5s6s 3 S 1) transitions in In II emitted from a hollow-cathode source have been measured using a high-resolution, scanning échelle monochromator. The measured frequencies of these four transitions have been used to determine the energies and hyperfine interaction constants of the 5s5p 3 P 0 0 ,3 P 1 0 ,3 P 2 0 and 5s6s 3 S 1 levels in In II. The hyperfine interaction constants for the dominant isotope115In are found to be: 5s5p 3 P 1 0 A=0.2322(2) cm?1,B=?0.0159(9) cm?1 5s5p 3 P 2 0 A=0.1699(4) cm?1,B= 0.021 (6) cm?1 5s6s 3 S 1 A=0.4022(4) cm?1,B= 0.002 (2) cm?1. The absolute frequency of the very narrow, strongly forbidden In II 236.5 nm (5s 2 1 S 0?5s5p 3 P 0 0 ) transition, which has been proposed as a candidate for a new optical frequency standard, is found to be 42275.986(7) cm?1.  相似文献

Correlation effects are shown to change generalized oscillator strengths and inelastic form factors by large factors as large as 10, from the Hartree-Fock values. The effects are fully included in the charge wavefunctions of the non-closed shell many-electron theory by Sinano?lu. We calculate the charge wavefunctions and obtain from the generalized oscillator strength F(q) versus ln q2 and the integrated cross section σ(E) versus lnE1 for BeI 2s21S → 2s2p 1P0 and BI 2s22p 2P0 → 2s2p22D cases, exemplifying the method.  相似文献

The rate constants 〈σ · υ〉 for collisional de-excitation of the metastable 5D states of Ba+ ions have been determined in an ion trap experiment. TheD-states are selectively populated by pulsed laser excitation of the 6P 1/2 or 6P 3/2 state and the decay at different background pressures is monitored by the change in fluorescence intensity of the excited ions. From the pressure dependence of the decay constants we calculate the de-excitation rate constants for different collision partners, averaged over the velocity distribution of the trapped ion cloud. For He, Ne, H2 and N2 we obtain in the c.m. energy range of 0.1–0.5 eV: 〈σ·υ〉 (He)=3.0±0.2·10?13cm3/s, 〈σ·υ〉 (Ne)=5.1±0.4·10?13cm3/s, 〈σ·υ〉 (H2)=3.7±0.3·10?11cm3/s, 〈σ·υ〉 (N2)=4.4±0.3·10?11cm3/s. The results can be understood qualitatively by a consideration of the ion-atom and ion-molecules interaction potential.  相似文献

Depolarization of excited114Cd 5s5p 3 P 1 atoms induced by collisions with various molecular gases (N2, H2, D2, CO, CO2, CH4, C2H6, C2H4) has been investigated using polarized fluorescence spectroscopy. After pulsed optical excitation of the Cd 53 P 1 level with appropriately polarized light the temporal behaviour of Zeeman quantum beats has been observed showing the influence of collisional destruction of orientation and alignment. By analyzing the signal curves at different molecular gas pressures the corresponding depolarization cross sections for114Cd atoms in the 53 P 1 state have been obtained. With regard to a test of a nuclear spin decoupling model for the collisions the cross sections were compared with previously measured hyperfine structure transfer cross sections of113Cd 5s5p 3 P 1 atoms.  相似文献
