A new Schiff base, H2L, was prepared by condensation of 4,6-diacetylresorcinol with o-phenylenediamine in molar ratio 1?:?1. The ligand reacted with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), iron(III), zinc(II), oxovanadium(IV), and dioxouranium(VI) ions in the absence and presence of LiOH to yield mononuclear and homobinuclear complexes. The mononuclear dioxouranium(VI) complex [(HL)-(UO2)(OAc)(H2O)]·5H2O was used to synthesize heterobinuclear complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H-, and 13C-NMR, electronic, ESR and mass spectra, conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility measurements as well as thermal analysis. In the absence of LiOH, mononuclear complexes (1, 4, and 9) were obtained; in the presence of LiOH, binuclear complexes (3, 5, 7, and 10) as well as mononuclear complexes (2, 6, and 8) were obtained. In the mononuclear complexes, the coordinating sites are the phenolic oxygen, azomethine nitrogen, and amino nitrogen. In addition to these coordinating sites, the free carbonyl and phenolic OH are involved in coordination in binuclear complexes. The metal complexes exhibited octahedral, tetrahedral, and square planar geometries while the uranium is seven-coordinate. The antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the ligand and its complexes were investigated. The ligand and the metal complexes showed antitumor activity against Ehrlich Acites Carcinoma.  相似文献

Abstract

Thermodynamic parameters have been determined by poten-tiometric techniques for complex ions formed by N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine TKED, with nickel (II), copper(II), and zinc(II) ions. The formation constants, enthalpy, and free energy data for the complexes exhibited values qualitatively consistent with predicted ligand field stabilization trends for these cations. The general expected stability of the complexes in the order Ni(II) < Cu(II) > Zn(II) is observed.  相似文献

3-Carboxylacetonehydroxamic acid (CAHA) and its iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis and IR spectra and magnetic susceptibility. The pK a1 and pK a2 values of the ligand in aqueous solution were found to be 6.5 ± 0.1 and 8.6 ± 0.1, which correspond to dissociation of carboxyl and hydroxamic protons, respectively. The dianion CAH acts as a tetradentate ligand through the hydroxamate and carboxylate groups and coordinates to the divalent metal ions, forming coordination polymers with a metal-to-ligand ratio of 1 : 1 in the solid state. FTIR spectra and thermal decomposition of the ligand and its metal complexes were recorded and briefly discussed. The electrochemical behavior of the complexes was investigated by square wave voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry at neutral pH. In contrast to the solid state, the iron(II) and copper(II) cations form stable complex species with a metal-to-ligand ratio of 1 : 2 in solution. The iron(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes show two-electron irreversible reduction behavior, while the copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes undergo quasi-reversible and reversible electrode reactions, respectively. The stability constants of the complexes were determined by square wave voltammetry.  相似文献

The ligand aminocyclodiphosph(V)azane derivative (III) and its complexes with Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) ions were prepared and characterized by microanalytical, FTIR, 1H, 13C, and 31P-NMR, UV/Visible, thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis, and magnetic moments. The ligand acts in a tetrahedral manner forming 2:1 metal to ligand ratio. The copper complex is assigned to be tetrahedral while cobalt and nickel complexes were assigned to be octahedral structure.  相似文献

Ion/molecule reactions of four coordinateSchiff base complexes under negative ion chemical ionization conditions have been studied. The complex metal ions consisted of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II).Schiff base ligands with different donor strengths were employed. The gas mixtures used contained 90% methane and 10% of the gases O2, NO or CO. The spectra showed intense molecular negative ions, formed by secondary electron capture processes. Secondary ions were formed via ion/molecule reactions between the parent molecular negative ion and added gas molecules to giveMLX ,X=O2, NO, CO;L=Schiff base ligand,M=Co(II) or Ni(II). Consistent with former investigations, secondary ion formation was not found for the copper compounds. Influence of the central metal ion as well as the ligand donor strength on the ion/molecule reactions are discussed. From the results obtained a mechanism of the secondary ion formation is suggested.

The synthesis of a new Schiff base containing 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarboxaldehyde and 2-mercaptoethylamine is described. The reaction of 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarboxaldehyde with 2-mercaptoethylamine leads to 2,9-bis(2-ethanthiazolinyl)-1,10-phenanthroline (I) which undergoes rearrangement when reacted with manganese, nickel, copper or zinc ions to produce complexes of the tautomeric Schiff base 2,9-bis[2-(2-mercaptoethyl)-2-azaethene]-1,10-phenanthroline (L). The [M(L)Cl2] complexes [where M = Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions] were characterized by physical and spectroscopic measurements which indicated that the ligand is a tetradentate N4 chelating agent.  相似文献

New complexes, [Fe(L)Cl], [Ni(L)], and [Zn(L)C2H5OH] (1–3), were synthesized by template reaction of 2-hydroxy-acetophenone-S-methyl-thiosemicarbazone with 2-hydroxy-benzaldehyde. The compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic measurements, FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV–visible, and ESI–MS spectra. In these complexes, the ligand is coordinated to the metal ion as dinegatively charged tetradentate chelating agents via the N2O2 donor set. The iron(III) and zinc(II) complexes exhibit square pyramidal geometry whereas the nickel(II) complex has a square planar geometry. The crystal structure of 1, determined by X-ray diffraction method, indicates that 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with Z = 4. Thermal decompositions of the compounds have been investigated using TGA in air.  相似文献

Acetamidomalondihydroxamate (K2AcAMDH) and its manganese(II), iron(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV–VIS, IR and magnetic susceptibility. The pK a1 and pK a2 values of the dihydroxamic acid in aqueous solution were found to be 8.0?±?0.1 and 9.7?±?0.1. The dihydroxamate anion AcAMDH behaves as a tetradentate bridging ligand through both hydroxamate groups, forming complexes with a metal to ligand ratio of 1?:?1 in the solid state. The FTIR spectra and thermal decompositions of the ligand and its metal complexes were recorded. The redox behavior of the complexes was investigated in aqueous solution by square wave voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry at neutral pH. In contrast to the solid state, in solution the copper(II) and zinc(II) ions form stable complex species with a metal to ligand ratio of 1?:?2. The iron(II) and nickel(II) complexes show a two-electron irreversible reduction behavior, while the copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes undergo reversible electrode reactions. The stability constants of the complexes were determined by square wave voltammetry.  相似文献

Neutral tetradentate N2O2 type complexes of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II) and Zn(II) have been synthesised using the Schiff base formed by the condensation of acetylacetone andp-anisidine. Microanalysis, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV-Vis,1 H NMR, CV and EPR studies have been carried out to determine the structure of the complexes. From the data, it is found that all the complexes possess square-planar geometry. The EPR spectrum of the copper complex in DMSO at 300 K and 77 K was recorded and its salient features are reported. All the title complexes were screened for antimicrobial activity by the well diffusion technique using DMSO as solvent. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values were calculated at 37°C for a period of 24 h. It has been found that all the complexes are antimicrobially active and show higher activity than the free ligand.  相似文献

Two Zn(II) complexes with the condensation product of 2-quinolinecarboxaldehyde and trimethylammonium acetohydrazide chloride (Girard’s T reagent) (HLCl) and monodentate pseudohalides (azide and cyanate) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In both complexes, the coordination surroundings of the Zn(II) ions consist of a deprotonated hydrazone ligand coordinated through an NNO set of donor atoms and two monodentate pseudohalides (N3 or NCO) at the remaining coordination sites. The Zn(II) complexes showed low to moderate activity against laboratory control strains of pathogenic bacteria and fungi.  相似文献

Tetranuclear zinc(II) citrates with N-heterocycle ligand, [Zn4(Hcit)2(phen)4(H2O)4]·2NO3·10H2O (1) and [Zn4(Hcit)2(bpy)4(H2O)6]·2NO3·12H2O (2) (H4cit?=?citric acid, phen?=?1,10-phenanthroline, bpy?=?2,2′-bipyridine), were synthesized from aqueous solution and characterized by Infrared, Powder X-ray diffraction, fluorescence spectra, and X-ray structural analyses. Complexes 1 and 2 are centrosymmetric tetranuclear species with two crystallographically independent Zn(II) ions, which display different coordination geometries, while the citrate ligand shows similar coordination modes and bridges three different Zn ions. In 1, the Zn1 is five-coordinate by three oxygens from two citrates and two nitrogens from phen. There exist weak interactions between Zn1 and O4a atom of β-carboxy group of citrate (Zn1?O4a?=?2.895?Å). Zn2 is six-coordinate by two oxygens from one citrate, two nitrogens from phen, and two water molecules. Zn1 and Zn2 are bridged by one citrate to form a dinuclear unit, which is further extended to a tetranuclear unit. In 2, two citrates bridge two pairs of symmetry-related Zn(II) ions into a tetranuclear unit. The structural analyses of 1 and 2 indicate that different tetranuclear species are caused by arrangement of citrates with different steric hindrance of N-chelates. 1H and 13C NMR spectra indicate that 2 remains coordinated in D2O. Moreover, both 1 and 2 show strong fluorescent emission in dilute solution and solid state.  相似文献

The trinuclear Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes [(CuTPA),(μ3-CO,)] (C104)4(1) and [(ZnTPA),(μ3-C03)](C104)4 (2) (TPA = tri(pyridylmethy1)amine) have been synthesized. X-ray structure analysis of the two complexes proves that CO3 2- anion has an unusual triply bridging ligand, bridging three CuTPA and ZnTPA units respectively, and assembles new trinuclear complexes. The CO3 2- comes from atmospheric CO2. The structure of each trinuclear unit consists of three copper or zinc atoms in a five-coordinate triangular hipyramidal environment. The [(CuTPA)33-C03) ](C104), compound shows a very weak antifemmagnetic coupling. Project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No.29771021).  相似文献

Abstract

The symmetric 'end-off' compartmental proligand 2,6-[N,N′-bis(2-hydroxy-phenylmethyl)-N,N′-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)aminomethyl]-4-methylphenol (H3L) has been used to generate homodinuclear nickel(II) and zinc(II) complexes. The crystal structures of the complexes reveal that the di-nickel(II) complex is donor asymmetric and the di-zinc(II) complex is coordination number asymmetric. In both complexes non-coordinated acetic acid molecules are tightly hydrogen-bonded to the pendant phenols of the ligand generating a double acid salt of the type[CH3COO…H…L…H…OOCCH3]3? in the dinickel complex and a single acid salt of the type [CH3COO…H…L]3? in the dizinc complex. In both cases the ligand periphery has been extended to provide a supraligand in which the donor potential of the original ligand has been enhanced.  相似文献

Summary Mixed ligand complexes of copper(II), zinc(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II) ions involving 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as primary and 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (dnsa), 5-nitrosalicylic acid (nsa), 5-chlorosalicylic acid (csa) and 3,5-dibromosalicylic acid (dbsa) as secondary ligands in solution have been investigated potentiometrically [25°, µ = 0.1 M [NaClO4], medium 50% v: v aqueous ethanol]. The stability order of mixed ligand complexes with respect to the metal ions obeys the natural order: cobalt(II) < nickel(II) < copper(II) > zinc(II). The stabilities of the heterometal chelates have been compared with the corresponding homometal chelates of the secondary ligands and have been interpreted in terms of metal-ligand effects and coulombic interactions between various ligand anion species present.  相似文献

A new oxamato-bridged NiIICuIINiII species, [Ni(iprtacn)]2[Cu(pba)(H2O)0.5](BPh4)2 (1), (iprtacn?=?1,4,7-triisopropyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane; pba?=?1,3-propylenebis(oxamato)) has been synthesized and structurally as well as magnetically characterized. Complex 1 has a discrete trinuclear NiIICuIINiII structure: Two nickel(II) ions are bridged by [Cu(pba)]2? with the macrocyclic ligand iprtacn a terminal ligand of nickel(II). Fitting the magnetic data of 1 led to g Cu?=?2.16, g Ni?=?2.18, J?=??112.5?cm?1, D?=?±7.78?cm?1. The irregular spin state structure and interaction of complex 1with DNA are described here.  相似文献

Complexes derived from ampicillin (L1) and amoxicillin (L2) with (Mg(II), Ca(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Ce(III), Nd(III), UO2(VI), Th(IV)) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electrical conductivity measurements, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV/Vis, and thermogravimetry. The formed complexes can be formulated as (ML(H2O)3(NO3) n ) except for Ce(III) which gave (CeL(H2O)3(Cl)2). The 1H NMR spectra of the Zn(II) complexes are compared to spectra of the ligands. The shift (δ) gave information about the chelating center of the ligands. The ligands and the synthesized complexes, derived from some alkali earth and transition metal ions, were tested as antibacterial reagents. The formed complexes had enhanced activity.  相似文献

Reactions of hydrated zinc(II) trifluoroacetate and sodium azide with two tridentate Schiff bases HL1 (2-((E)-(2-(dimethylamino)ethylimino)methyl)-4-chlorophenol) and HL2 (2-((E)-(2-(dimethylamino)ethylimino)methyl)-4-bromophenol) under the same reaction conditions yielded two dinuclear isostructural zinc(II) complexes, [Zn(L1)(N3)]2 (1) and [Zn(L2)(N3)]2 (2), respectively. The complexes were characterized systematically by elemental analysis, UV–Vis, FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopic methods. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies reveal that each of the dinuclear complexes consists of two crystallographically independent zinc(II) ions connected by double bridging phenoxides. All zinc(II) ions in 1 and 2 are surrounded by similar donor sets and display distorted square–pyramidal coordination geometries. The ligands and complexes reveal intraligand 1(π → π*) flourescence. The enhancement of the fluorescence intensities for the complexes compared to the ligands indicates their potential to serve as photoactive materials.  相似文献

New cobalt(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of Schiff base derived from D,L ‐selenomethionine and salicylaldehyde were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectra, conductance measurements, magnetic measurements and biological activity. The analytical data showed that the Schiff base ligand acts as tridentate towards divalent metal ions (cobalt, copper, zinc) via the azomethine‐N, carboxylate oxygen and phenolato oxygen by a stoichiometric reaction of M:L (1:1) to form metal complexes [ML(H2O)], where L is the Schiff base ligand derived from D,L ‐selenomethionine and salicylaldehyde and M = Co(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II). 1H NMR spectral data of the ligand and Zn(II) complex agree with proposed structures. The conductivity values between 12.87 and 15.63 S cm2 mol?1 in DMF imply the presence of non‐electrolyte species. Antibacterial and antifungal results indicate that the metal complexes are more active than the ligand. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Abstract

Potentiometric and polarographic studies of metal ion coordination with 9-hydroxypyrido[1,2-α]pyrimidin-4-one (HPP) with Ni(II), Zn(II), Co(II) and Cd(II) ions have been carried out. For comparison, stability constants with 8-hydroxy-imidazo[1,2-α]pyridine (HIP) were also measured. Due to the low solubility of the latter ligand complexes, measurements were made also in dioxan/water solutions. In the case of both ligands the coordination mode is the same. The oxine-like binding via {N, O?} donor set leads to formation of stable ML and ML2 complexes. Stability constants clearly indicate that both ligands are very effective and the HPP, having a more favourable position of the electron pair on nitrogen, forms stronger complexes with smaller metal ions i.e., Ni(II), Zn(II) and Co(II). Cd(II) is better fitted to the HIP donor set.  相似文献

Reactions of 1,2-di(o-aminophenylthio)ethane with 3-ethoxy-2-hydroxybenzaldehyde yield the new hexadentate N2S2O2 donor thioether Schiff base 1,2-bis(2-((2-(thio)phenylimino)methyl)-6-ethoxyphenol)ethane (H2L). Ni(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) complexes of this ligand were prepared. Of these complexes, [NiL]·2H2O has been structurally characterized by X-ray crystallography. The coordination geometry around Ni(II) was described as octahedral. Zn(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) complexes and the Schiff base ligand have been characterized by CHN analyses, molar conductivity, UV–vis, FT-IR, 1H, and 13C NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献
