Seven new mononuclear complexes have been synthesized from 2,4-diiodo-6-propyliminomethyl-phenol in pyridine and Cu(OAc)2 · H2O, Ni(OAc)2 · 4H2O, Co(OAc)2 · 4H2O, Zn(OAc)2 · 2H2O, Cd(OAc)2 · 2H2O, Mn(OAc)2 · 4H2O, and Hg(OAc)2. The complexes were characterized by UV, IR, ESI-MS, and elemental analyses; bis(2,4-diiodo-6-propyliminomethyl-phenol)-pyridine-copper(II) (1) was characterized by X-ray crystallography. The central metal in each complex is five-coordinate by two nitrogens and two oxygens from two 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde Schiff-base ligands and one nitrogen from pyridine. The 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde Schiff base is bidentate. All the complexes were assayed for antibacterial (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter cloacae) activities by the MTT method. Complex 1 showed the most favorable antimicrobial activity with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 6.25, 3.125, 6.25, 3.125, 6.25, 3.125 µg mL?1 against B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. faecalis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, and E. cloacae, respectively.  相似文献

A bidentate ligand, 2,4-diiodo-6-phenyliminomethyl-phenol (HL) has been synthesized from 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde and phenylamine in ethanol. Five mononuclear complexes have been synthesized from 2,4-diiodo-6-phenyliminomethyl-phenol reaction with CuCl2 · 2H2O, NiCl2 · 6H2O, CoCl2 · 6H2O, MnCl2 · 4H2O, and ZnCl2 in ethanol or tetrahydrofuran (THF). The complexes were characterized by UV, infrared, ESI-MS, and elemental analyses. Complexes bis(2,4-diiodo-6-phenyliminomethyl-phenol)-copper(II) (1) and bis(2,4-diiodo-6-phenyliminomethyl-phenol)-zinc(II)-THF (5) were characterized by X-ray crystallography. Based on the crystal structure analysis of 1 and 5, coupled to their spectral similarity with other complexes prepared (2, 3, 4), we conclude that 2, 3, and 4 have similar structures to 1. The metal(II) in each complex is four-coordinate by two nitrogens and two oxygens from two ligands. All the complexes were assayed for antibacterial (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter cloacae) activities by the MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) method. Among the complexes tested, 1 showed the most favorable antimicrobial activity with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 3.125, 6.25, 6.25, 3.125, 3.125, 6.25 µg mL?1 against B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. faecalis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, and E. cloacae, respectively.  相似文献

Two new Schiff bases (2,4-diiodo-6-[(2-morpholin-4-yl-ethylimino)-methyl]-phenol and 2,4-diiodo-6-[(3-morpholin-4-yl-propylimino)-methyl]-phenol), condensed from 3,5-diiodosalicylaldehyde with 2-morpholinoethylamine and 3-morpholinopropylamine, have been designed and synthesized. Reaction of the Schiff bases with Zn(OAc)2 · 2H2O, Cu(OAc)2 · H2O, Ni(OAc)2 · 4H2O, Co(OAc)2 · 4H2O, Cd(OAc)2 · 2H2O, Mn(OAc)2 · 4H2O, Fe(SO4)2 · 7H2O, and Hg(OAc)2 led to the formation of 16 new mononuclear complexes. The complexes were characterized by UV, Infrared, ESI-MS, and elemental analyses, and 3,5-diiodosalicylalidene-2-morpholinoethylaminozinc(II) (1) and 3,5-diiodosalicylalidene-2-morpholinoethylaminocopper(II) (2) were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Based on crystal structural analysis of 1 and 2, coupled with their spectral similarity with 316, it can be concluded that 316 have structures similar to 1 and 2. All the complexes were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram positive bacterial strains (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Streptococcus faecalis) and three Gram negative bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter cloacae) by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide method. Among the complexes tested, 8 and 16 showed the most favorable antibacterial activity with minimum inhibitory concentration of 0.781, 12.5, 6.25, 3.125, 3.125, 6.25 and 1.562, 6.25, 1.562, 3.125, 3.125, 1.562 µg mL?1 against B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. faecalis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, and E. cloacae, respectively.  相似文献

A dinuclear copper(II) complex with a newly synthesized tridentate Schiff-base ligand 2-[(2-hydroxy-ethylimino)-methyl]-4,6-diiodo-phenol (HL), of formula [Cu2L2Cl2?·?C4H8O] (1), was prepared. Both the ligand and the complex were characterized by X-ray crystallography, confirming that the Schiff base is tridentate and its dinuclear copper(II) complex is five-coordinate from one nitrogen and two oxygens from L and two chlorides. The complex was assayed for antibacterial (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, and Enterobacter cloacae) activities by the MTT method. Complex 1 exhibited better antimicrobial activity than the ligand.  相似文献

One mononuclear complex, C9H7I2NO4Co(II) (I) with 3,5-diiodo-salicylalidene, glycine and Co(CH3COO)2 · 4H2O were microwave solid synthesized. The complex was characterized by X-ray crystallography, UV, IR, ESI-MS, and elemental analyses. In addition, further investigation revealed that the central cobalt(II) atom in complex is five-coordinated by one nitrogen atom and four oxygen atoms. The complex was assayed for antibacterial (B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. faecalis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, and E. cloacae) activities by MTT (3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl trtrazolium bromide) method. Complex I showed favorable antimicrobial activity with MICs of 3.125, 6.25, 6.25, 6.25, 3.125, and 6.25 μg/mL against B. subtilis, S. aureus, S. faecalis, P. aeruginosa, E. coli, and E. cloacae, respectively.  相似文献

A pair of structurally similar dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes with general formula [MoO2(L)(MeOH)] (L = L1 = N’-(3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-hydroxybenzohydrazide for I, L = L2 = N’-(3,5-dibromo-2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-methylbenzohydrazide for II), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, and single crystal X-ray determination (CIF files CCDC nos. 917823 (I) and 917824 (II)). The hydrazone ligands coordinate to the Mo atoms through phenolate oxygen, imine nitrogen, and enolic oxygen atoms. The Mo atom in each complex is six-coordinated in an octahedral geometry. The crystals of the complexes are stabilized by hydrogen bonds. The complexes and the ligands were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram-positive bacterial strains (B. subtilis, S. aureus, and S. faecalis) and three Gram-negative bacterial strains (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and E. cloacae) by MTT method. As a result, the complexes showed effective antimicrobial activity against the microorganisms tested.  相似文献

A new tetranuclear copper(II) complex (I) and a new mononuclear cobalt(III) complex (II) have been synthesized from the Schiff base compound 2-[(2-dimethylaminoethylimino)methyl]-4-methylphenol. The complexes have been characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods, as well as single crystal X-ray determination (CIF files CCDC nos. 1447778 (I) and 1447779 (II)). The Cu atoms in complex I are in square pyramidal coordination, and the Co atom in complex II is in octahedral coordination. Crystal structures of the complex are stabilized by hydrogen bonds and π···π interactions. The complexes and the Schiff base compound were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram-positive bacterial strains (B. subtilis, S. aureus, and St. faecalis) and three Gram-negative bacterial strains (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and E. cloacae) by MTT method. As a result, the complexes showed effective antimicrobial activity against the microorganisms tested.  相似文献

A new Cd(II) complex with 4′-chloro-2,2′?:?6′,2″-terpyridine (Cltpy), [Cd(Cltpy)(NO3)2(H2O)0.45(CH3OH)0.55], has been synthesized and characterized by CHN elemental analysis, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR spectroscopy, and structurally analyzed by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The single-crystal X-ray analyses show that the coordination number is seven with three terpyridine (Cltpy) N-donors, three oxygen atoms of two nitrates and one oxygen atom of methoxy/water. The antibacterial activities of Cltpy and its Cd(II) complex are tested against different bacteria. The free ligand has considerable activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus anthracis, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (inhibition zones?≥?20?mm), but has moderate activity against Escherichia coli and Streptococcus pyogenes (inhibition zones?≤?15?mm). In comparison with free Cltpy ligand, its complex has more activity against Klebsiella pneumonia, S. aureus, and B. anthracis (inhibition zones?≥?30?mm), but is inactive against P. aeruginosa and S. pyogenes. The quantitative assays gave minimal inhibitory concentration values in the range 6.25–100?mg?mL?1 that confirmed the above results. Against K. pneumonia and S. aureus, antibacterial activity of the complex is higher than Cltpy ligand.  相似文献

Abstract

Reaction of VO(acac)2 with the hydrazone ligands N’-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-3methylbenzohydrazide (H2L1) and N’-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-3-methyl-4-nitrobenzohydrazide (H2L2) afforded two oxidovanadium(V) complexes, [VOL1(OMe)(MeOH)] (1) and [VOL2(OEt)(EtOH)] (2), respectively. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis, molar conductivity and X-ray single crystal diffraction techniques. The hydrazone ligands coordinate to the V ions through the phenolate oxygen, imino nitrogen and enolate oxygen atoms. The V ions in both complexes are in octahedral coordination, with the three donor atoms of the hydrazone ligands, and with the other three sites furnished by one methanol or ethanol oxygen atom, one deprotonated methanol or ethanol oxygen atom, and one oxo oxygen. The complexes were assayed for their antibacterial activity on the bacteria B. subtilis, E. coli, P. putida and S. aureus.  相似文献

Two new manganese(III) complexes, [MnIIIL1(Dca)(MeOH)] (I) and [MnIIIL2(N3)2] (II), where L1 and L2 are the dianionic form of N,N'-3,4-chlorophenylene-bis(5-methylsalicylaldimine) (H2L1) and N,N'-3,4-nitrophenylene-bis(5-methylsalicylaldimine) (H2L2), respectively, and Dca is dicyanoamide, have been synthesized and characterized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis spectra, molar conductivity, and single crystal X-ray diffraction (CIF files nos. 1054200 (I), 1054336 (II)). The Mn atoms in the structures are in octahedral coordination. In the crystal structure of complex I, molecules are linked through intermolecular O–H···N hydrogen bonds to form 1D chains running along the x axis. In both complexes, there exist π···π interactions among molecules. The complexes and the Schiff bases were assayed for antibacterial activities against three Gram-positive bacterial strains (B. subtilis, S. aureus, and St. faecalis) and three Gram-negative bacterial strains (E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and E. cloacae) by MTT method.  相似文献

Abstract

Eight new mixed ligand complexes of dioxomolybdenum(VI) with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy/3,5-dibromo benzaldehyde 4-phenyl/ethyl-S-methyl/butyl thiosemicarbazones (L) were synthesized. The complexes of general formula [MoO2LD] (D: methanol, pyridine) were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The structure of 3a was also determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The thiosemicarbazone ligands are coordinated to dioxomolybdenum(VI) center through ONN set and the sixth coordinated site of the molybdenum is occupied by the second ligand (D). The in vitro antimicrobial activities of all thiosemicarbazones and their dioxomolybdenum(VI) complexes were tested against Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献

Thiohydantoin and quinolone derivatives have attracted researchers’ attention because of a broad spectrum of their medical applications. The aim of our research was to synthesize and analyze the antimicrobial properties of novel 2-thiohydantoin and 2-quinolone derivatives. For this purpose, two series of hybrid compounds were synthesized. Both series consisted of 2-thiohydantoin core and 2-quinolone derivative ring, however one of them was enriched with an acetic acid group at N3 atom in 2-thiohydantoin core. Antibacterial properties of these compounds were examined against bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The antimicrobial assay was carried out using a serial dilution method to obtain the MIC. The influence of blue light irradiation on the tested compounds was investigated. The relative yield of singlet oxygen (1O2*, 1Δg) generation upon excitation with 420 nm was determined by a comparative method, employing perinaphthenone (PN) as a standard. Antimicrobial properties were also investigated after blue light irradiation of the suspensions of the hybrids and bacteria placed in microtitrate plates. Preliminary results confirmed that some of the hybrid compounds showed bacteriostatic activity to the reference Gram-positive bacterial strains and a few of them were bacteriostatic towards Gram-negative bacteria, as well. Blue light activation enhanced bacteriostatic effect of the tested compounds.  相似文献

In view of developing novel bioactive compounds, a series of 2‐(5‐[2‐methyl‐6‐arylpyridin‐3‐yl]‐1,3,4‐oxadiazol‐2‐ylthio)‐1‐arylethanones (6a–n) were designed and synthesized in good yield. Novel compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial and anti‐inflammatory activities. All synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Bascillus subtilis, Eschericia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. Compounds 6a , 6b , 6c , 6h , and 6i displayed the highest antibacterial activity with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values ranging from 6.25–12.5 μg/mL in comparison with the standard Ciprofloxacin. The results of anti‐inflammatory activity of carrageenan‐induced footpad edema assay indicated that tested compounds exhibited remarkable anti‐inflammatory activity with percentage of inhibition of 63.9–70.1% (potency 96.8–106.20% of indomethacin activity) after 3 hr. Particularly, 6c – e and 6j – l were found to be excellent inhibitors of inflammation, with potential higher than that of the standard, Indomethacin.  相似文献

One-pot four-component reactions of phenacyl bromides, parabanic or thioparabanic acids, thiophenols, and triphenylphosphine in the presence of triethylamine afforded new derivatives of hydantoin or thiohydantoin in good to high yields (65%-90%). Their antibacterial activities were evaluated against two Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis) and two Gram-negative bacteria (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa). Among the synthesized compounds, the obtained products from 2-hydroxythiophenol exhibited higher antibacterial activity than those obtained from 2-aminothiophenol. Compound 9l including N,N′-diphenyl thiohydantoin moiety showed the highest antibacterial activity (26.0 ± 01.4) against B subtilis, in comparison with other synthesized samples. The antioxidant activities of the synthesized hydantoins and thiohydantoins were investigated by DPPH radical-scavenging based on Blois method. The results showed that all the compounds have high DPPH inhibition potency (77.4%-83.9%) that it could be due to existence of heteroatoms with lone pair electrons and exchangeable protons on their NH2 and OH groups.  相似文献

The antibacterial and antifungal activities of three new pyrimidine derivatives, namely, 2,6-bis(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-ylthio)benzene-1,4-diol (1),3,5-bis(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-ylthio)-2-methylbenzene-1,4-diol (2) and 3,5-bis(4,6-dimethylpyrimidin-2-ylthio)-2-methoxybenzene-1,4-diol (3), synthesised by electrochemical method are presented here. The compounds were screened for their activities against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcusaureus, Escherichia coli and a pathogenic fungus Aspergillus niger. The results show that these compounds have significant activity against these bacteria and fungus. The minimum inhibitory concentration of compound 1 was determined as 62.5 μg/mL against B. subtilis, 125 μg/mL against E. coli and 250 μg/mL against S. aureus establishing its promising activities higher than susceptible ranges.  相似文献
