In a search for environment-friendly metal chelating ligands for industrial applications, the protonation and complex formation equilibria of N-bis[2-(1,2-dicarboxyethoxy)ethyl]aspartic acid (BCA6) with Fe(II), Co(II), and Ni(II) ions in aqueous 0.1 M NaCl solution were studied at 25°C by potentiometric titration. The model for complexation and the stability constants of different complexes were determined for each metal ion using SUPERQUAD. In all cases, complex formation was dominated by stable ML4? complexes.  相似文献

Formation of ternary Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes with cytidine 5′-monophosphate (CMP) and triamines has been studied. Complexes M(CMP)(H x PA) and M(CMP)(PA) (M?=?Cd, Hg; PA?=?polyamine) were detected and overall stability constants and equilibrium constants for their formation determined. The mode of coordination in the complexes has been proposed on the basis of the equilibrium and 13C, 31P NMR and IR studies. In the Hg(II) systems, metalation involves the donor endocyclic N(3) atom, the CMP phosphate group and nitrogen donor atoms of PA. Relative to the Hg/CMP binary systems, the presence of a polyamine in ternary systems does not change the metal–nucleotide mode of coordination. In ternary systems including Hg(II) ions, the occurrence of noncovalent interactions has not been detected. Cd(II) ions form molecular complexes as well as protonated species. Introduction of a polyamine to the Cd/CMP system changes the coordination mode of the nucleotide. The phosphate group of CMP is inactive in binary complexes (metalation by the N(3) atom) but is involved in coordination in heteroligand species. In contrast to other polyamines studied, in the system including 1,7-diamino-4-azaheptane (3,3-tri), the phosphate group of CMP in Cd(CMP)(H3,3-tri) does not participate in metalation but is engaged in intramolecular noncovalent interactions that stabilize the complex.  相似文献

In a search for environmentally friendly metal chelating ligands for industrial applications, the protonation and complex formation equilibria of [S,S,S]- and [R,S,R]-isomers of N-bis[2-(1,2-dicarboxyethoxy)ethyl] aspartic acid (BCA6) with Mg(II), Ca(II), Mn(II), Fe(III), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions in aqueous 0.1 M NaCl solution were studied at 25°C by potentiometric titration. The model for complexation and the stability constants of the different complexes were determined for each metal ion using the computer program SUPERQUAD. With all metal ions (M n+), stable ML n?6 complexes dominated complex formation for both isomers. Differences in complexation models were found for binuclear species.  相似文献

Abstract

Our recent work on Cu(II) and VO(IV) interactions with lactobionic acid have shown1,2 that this sugar acid has an unusually high ability to coordinate both metal ions. The carboxyl group is not a very effective donor for cupric ions3,4 and metal interations with the set of the protonated hydroxyl groups should have considerable effects on complex stability. This high stability of the lactobionic acid complexes can lead to the involvement of this ligand in formation of ternary complexes with ligands such as aminosugars.3–6 Both ligands are important chelating agents for Cu(II) ions in medicine, agriculture and food chemistry.7–9 Since ternary complexes may play an important role in natural systems we have decided to follow complex formation in solutions containing lactobionic acid and one an aminosugar, D-glucosamine. The anchoring group in D(+)-glucosamine (2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucose) is an amino group which is much more effective donor than carboxylate which acts as an anchor in sugar acids. Thus in our study we have used excess lactobionic acid to promote the formation of ternary complexes as major species in the solutions studied.  相似文献

New complexes of Cd(II), Zn(II) and Ni(II) with 2-quinolinecarboxaldehyde selenosemicarbazone (Hqasesc) were synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure of the ligand, Cd(II) and Zn(II) complexes was determined by NMR and IR spectroscopy, elemental microanalysis and molar conductivity measurements. Both complexes occur in solution in two forms, the major tetrahedral and minor octahedral. In the major Cd(II) complex one qasesc ligand is coordinated as a tridentate, the fourth coordination site being occupied by acetate, while in the major Zn(II) complex two qasesc ligands are coordinated as bidentates. In both minor complexes two qasesc ligands are coordinated as tridentates forming the octahedral geometry around the central metal ion. The only paramagnetic complex in the series is Ni(II) complex for which X-ray structure analysis was performed. The complex has the angularly distorted octahedral geometry with two qasesc ligands coordinated as tridentates, in a similar way as in the minor complexes of Cd(II) and Zn(II).  相似文献

The reaction of 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-carboxylphenyl)porphyrin (TCPP) with Cd(II), Pb(II), Hg(II) and Zn(II) was studied spectrophotometrically and kinetics, equilibrium constants as well as photodecomposition of complexes were determined. It was verified that these metal ions with large radius accelerate the incorporation reaction of zinc into TCPP. On the basis of the mechanism and kinetics of this reaction, a sensitive method for the spectrophotometric determination of trace amounts of Zn(II) has been developed. The molar absorptivity of examined Zn-TCPP complex and Sandell's sensitivity at 423 nm were 3.5×105 M−1 cm−1 and 18.3 ng cm−2. The detection limit for the recommended procedure was 1.4×10−9 M (0.9 ng ml−1) and precision in range 20-100 ng ml−1 not exceeds 2.7% RSD. The proposed method applied for zinc determination in natural waters and nutritional supplement was compared with AAS results and declared value.  相似文献

Abstract

1-Hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (hexadecyl cyclam) and 1-(3,7,11,15-tetramethyl) hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (tetramethylhexadecyl cyclam) have been synthesized and their deprotonation and ligand-metal formation constants, K, determined for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II). The coupling of a long hydrocarbon chain to a ring nitrogen decreased the general ability of the cyclam ring to complex with metal ions. The greatest effect appeared to be for Cu(II) decreasing from a pK of 27 for cyclam to about 17. The titrations were fitted by HYPERQUAD and the concentrations of the intermediate complexes obtained as a function of pH. Metal-ligand complexes LMH2 4+, LMH2+ and LM2+ can coexist through a wide pH range. We have also calculated a composite metal-binding constant, K′, to reflect more accurately the overall ability of these ligands to bind a metal at any particular pH. K′, which is 14.6 for (hexadecyl cyclam)-Cu(II), is constructed from the concentrations of all the metal-chelated species at pH = 7. Generally, K′ is much lower than K.  相似文献

In a search for environmentally friendly metal chelating ligands for industrial applications, the protonation and complex formation equilibria of N-tris[(1,2-dicarboxyethoxy)ethyl]amine (TCA6) with Ca(II), Mn(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) ions in aqueous 0.1?M NaCl solution were studied at 25°C by potentiometric titration. A model for complexation and stability constants of the complexes were determined. With all of the metals, complex formation was dominated by ML4?. Comparison of TCA6 and six other chelating agents showed TCA6 to be suitable for applications where strong calcium binding is essential.  相似文献

In this study, we demonstrated a highly sensitive electrochemical sensor for the simultaneous detection of Pb (II) and Cd (II) in aqueous solution using carbon paste electrode modified with Eichhornia crassipes powder by square wave anodic stripping voltammetry. The effect of modifier composition, pH, preconcentration time, reduction potential and time, and type of supporting electrolyte on the determination of metal ions were investigated. Pre-concentration on the modified surface was performed at open circuit. The modified electrode exhibited well-defined and separate stripping peaks for Pb (II) and Cd (II). Under optimum experimental conditions, a linear range for both metal ions was from 10 to 5000 μg L?1 with the detection limits of 4.9 μg L?1, 2.1 μg L?1 for Cd(II) and Pb (II), respectively. The modified electrode was found to be sensitive and selective when applied to determine trace amounts of Cd (II) and Pb (II) in natural water samples.  相似文献

A novel chelating resin (poly-Cd(II)-DAAB-VP) was prepared by metal ion imprinted polymer (MIIP) technique. The resin was obtained by one pot reaction of Cd(II)-diazoaminobenzene-vinylpyridine with cross-linker ethyleneglycoldimethacrylate (EGDMA). Comparing with non-imprinted resin, the poly-Cd(II)-DAAB-VP has higher adsorption capacity and selectivity for Cd(II). The distribution ratio (D) values for the Cd(II)-imprinted resin show increase for Cd(II) with respect to both D values of Zn(II), Cu(II), Hg(II) and non-imprinted resin. The relatively selective factor (αr) values of Cd(II)/Cu(II), Cd(II)/Zn(II) and Cd(II)/Hg(II), are 51.2, 45.6, and 85.4, which are greater than 1. poly-Cd(II)-DAAB-VP can be used at least 20 times without considerable loss of adsorption capacity. Based on poly-Cd(II)-DAAB-VP packed columns, a highly selective solid-phase extraction (SPE) and preconcentration method for Cd(II) from aqueous solution was developed. The MIIP-SPE preconcentration procedure showed a linear calibration curve within concentration range from 0.093 to 30 μg l−1. The detection limit and quantification limit were 0.093 and 0.21 μg l−1 (3σ) for flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS). The relative standard deviation of the eleven replicate determinations was 3.7% for the determination of 10 μg of Cd(II) in 100 ml water sample. Determination of Cd(II) in certified river sediment sample (GBW 08301) demonstrated that the interfering matrix had been almost removed during preconcentration. The column was good enough for Cd(II) determination in matrixes containing components with similar chemical property such as Cu(II), Zn(II) and Hg(II).  相似文献

The mode of coordination of complexes formed in the systems Cd(II) or Hg(II)/cytidine/di- or triamine is proposed on the basis of equilibrium and spectroscopic studies. Mercury(II) binds much more strongly to cytidine and polyamine (PA) than cadmium. It was found from equilibrium and 13 C NMR studies that in the Hg(II) and Cd(II)/ Cyd /di- or triamine complexes, metallation mainly involves the N(3) atom of the pyrimidine base of the nucleoside and m NH x + groups from PA. In MLL' complexes of both metals with diamines, all available donor nitrogen atoms of the polyamine are involved in coordination. In analogous systems with triamines, interaction of all nitrogen atoms is observed for Cd(II) systems as well as in the Hg( Cyd )(2,3- tri ) species. Only two nitrogen atoms of the polyamine coordinate in ternary Hg(II) complexes with dien, 3,3-tri and Spd .  相似文献

In this study, 1,2-dihydroxyimino-3,7-di-aza-9,10-O-α-methyl benzal decane (LH2) was synthesized starting from 1,2-O-α-methyl benzal-4-aza-7-amino heptane (RNH2) and antichloroglyoxime. With this ligand, complexes were synthesized using Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts with a metal:ligand ratio of 1:2. However, the reaction of the ligand with salts of Zn(II) and Cd(II) gave products with metal:ligand ratio of 1:1. Structures of the ligand and its complexes are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, 13C- and 1H-NMR spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA).  相似文献

Ofloxacin was successfully used as a chemical modifier to improve the reactivity of silica gel in terms of selective binding and extraction of heavy metal ions. This new functionalised silica gel (SG-ofloxacin) was as an effective sorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) of Cd(II) and Pb(II) in biological and natural water samples and their determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of Cd(II) and Pb(II) were optimised with respect to different experimental parameters using the batch and column procedures. The time for 70% sorption for Cd(II) and Pb(II) was less than 2 min. Complete elution of the adsorbed metal ions from the SG-ofloxacin was carried out using 2.0 mL of 0.5 mol L?1 of HCl. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination at pH 4.0. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 39.17 and 48.69 mg g?1 for Cd(II) and Pb(II), respectively. The detection limits of the method were found to be 0.29 and 0.13 ng mL?1 for Cd(II) and Pb(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was lower than 3.0% (n = 5). The method was applied to the recovery of Cd(II) and Pb(II) from the certified reference material (GBW 08301, river sediment) and to the simultaneous determination of these cations in different water and biological samples with satisfactory results and yielding 100-folds enrichment factor.  相似文献

The novel mixed ligand complexes [M(bpy)(phen-dione)](PF6)2 (M?=?Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II), bpy?=?2,2-bipyridine and phen-dione?=?1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and electronic absorption spectroscopies. The ν(C=O) of coordinated phen-dione in these complexes are very similar to the free phen-dione ligand showing that phen-dione is not coordinated to metal ion from its C=O sites. Absorption spectra of the complexes show two absorption bands for intraligand transitions. These absorption bands show dependence to the dielectric constant of solvent. These complexes exhibit an intensive fluorescence band around 535?nm in DMF when the excitation wavelength is 260?nm at room temperature. The fluorescence intensity of these complexes is larger than that of the free ligand.  相似文献

The crystal and molecular structures of the organomercury(II) complexes [Hg(C6H5)(chtsc)], 1, and [Hg(C6H5C5H4N)(btsc)], 2, obtained from the reaction of phenylmercury(II) acetate with cyclohexanone thiosemicarbazone (Hchtsc) and that of [2-(pyridin-2′-yl)]phenyl]mercury(II) acetate with benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone (Hbtsc), respectively, are described. Both 1 and 2 are monoclinic, space group C2/c. Complex 1 has a distorted T-shaped geometry {C-Hg-S, 161.91(10)°} and 2 can be considered to have a distorted seesaw geometry {C-Hg-S, 171.2(10)°}. In both complexes the ligands act as bidentate chelating anions bonding through azomethine N1 and thiolato S atoms.  相似文献

The cadmium (II) or lead (II) complex formation with two poly(acrylic acids) of high molecular weight (Mw=2.5×105 and 3×106) was investigated in dilute aqueous solution (NaNO3 0.1 mol l−1; 25°C). Potentiometric titrations were carried out to determine the stability constants of the MA and MA2 complex species formed. Bjerrum’s method, modified by Gregor et al. (J. Phys. Chem. 59 (1955) 34–39), for the study of polymeric acids was used. The results were compared to those previously obtained in the same conditions with copper (II) and nickel (II) . It appeared that the two polymers under study present similar binding properties and that the stability constants of the complex species formed increased in the following order, depending on the metal ion: Ni(II)β102 was found to be close to 7.0) and allowed the formation of the predominant PbA2 species in a quite large pH domain. Finally, the greater stability of PAA complexes compared to those of their monomeric analogs, glutaric and acetic acids, was confirmed.  相似文献

Conditions for the preparation of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) 4-methylphthalates were investigated and their composition, solubility in water at 295 K and magnetic moments were determined. IR spectra and powder diffraction patterns of the complexes prepared with molar ratio of metal to organic ligand of 1.0:1.0 and general formula: M [ CH3C6H3(CO2)2nH2o (n=1-3) were recorded and their decomposition in air were studied. During heating the hydrated complexes are dehydrated in one (Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, Cd) or two steps (Cu) and next the anhydrous complexes decompose to oxides directly (Cu, Zn), with intermediate formation of carbonates (Mn, Cd), oxocarbonates (Ni) or carbonate and free metal (Co). The carboxylate groups in the complexes studied are mono- and bidentate (Co, Ni), bidentate chelating and bridging (Zn) or bidentate chelating (Mn, Cu, Cd). The magnetic moments for paramagnetic complexes of Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) attain values 5.92, 5.05, 3.36 and 1.96 M.B., respectively. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The geometries and energetics of complexes of Hg(II) and Pb(II) with sulfur‐ and aminopyridine‐containing chelating resin including crosslinked polystyrene immobilizing 2‐aminopyridine via sulfur‐containing (PVBS‐AP), sulfoxide‐containing (PVBSO‐AP), and sulfone‐containing (PVBSO2‐AP) spacer arms have been investigated theoretically, and thus interactions of the metal ions with chelating resins were evaluated. The results indicate that PVBS‐AP behaves as a tridentate ligand to coordinate with the metal ions by S and two N atoms to form chelating compounds with S atom playing a dominant role in the coordination, whereas PVBSO‐AP and PVBSO2‐AP interact with metal cations, respectively, in a tricoordinate manner by O and two N atoms forming chelating complexes. Furthermore, it is revealed that O and N2 atoms of PVBSO‐AP are the main contributor of coordination to Hg(II), whereas N2 atom of PVBSO2‐AP is mainly responsible for the coordination to Hg(II). For PVBSO‐AP‐Pb2+ and PVBSO2‐AP‐Pb2+ complex, the coordination is dominated by the synergetic effect of N1, N2, and O atoms. Natural bond orbital and second‐order perturbation analyses suggest that the charge transfer from the chelating resins to metal ions is mainly dominated by the interactions of lone pair of electrons of the donor atoms with the unoccupied orbitals of metal ions. Hg(II) complexes exhibit larger binding energies than the corresponding Pb(II) complexes, implying the chelating resins exhibit higher affinity toward Hg(II), which is consistent with the experimental results. Combined the theoretical and experimental results, further understanding of the structural information of the complexes and the coordination mechanism was achieved. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The thermal behavior of montmorillonite and organically modified montmorillonite, both treated with heavy metal cations [Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)], was characterized via thermal analyses (TG, DTG and DTA) combined with evolved species gas mass spectrometry (MS-EGA), and X-ray diffraction at in situ controlled temperature (HTXRD). The reactions involving Cu(II)- and Cd(II)-montmorillonite samples are mostly related to H2O and OH loss, unlike Hg(II)-montmorillonite, where effects associated to Hg(II) loss are also present. Finally reactions related to dehydration, dehydroxylation and to organic matter decomposition can be observed in montmorillonite samples treated with cysteine.  相似文献

Summary.  Sparingly water soluble complexes of lead(II), cadmium(II), and zinc(II) with N-phosphonomethylglycine (glyphosate, NPMG) of the general formulae C3H6O5NPPb, C3H6O5NPCdċ2H2O, and C3H6O5NPZn were synthesized. The complexes were also precipited from a dilute Roundup solution, and their solubility in water was determined. Thermal, diffractometric, and IR spectrophotometric analyses were carried out. It was found that the metal is bonded to glyphosate through the oxygen atoms of the carboxylic and phosphonate groups; metal-nitrogen binding is absent in the above compounds. Studying the complexing behaviour in solution by UV spectrophotometry pointed out that a complex of the composition Pb(II) : NPMG=1:1 with an absorption band at 232 nm is formed. Its stability constant as determined by Job’s method is logK=5.9±0.1. Using potentiometric techniques, the dissociation constant of N-phosphonomethylglycine and the stability constants of its complexes with cadmium (II) and zinc (II) were determined.
