Abstract

Equilibrium constants involving the ternary mixed ligand iron(II) complex [Fe(TPTZ)(terpy)]2+, determined spectrophotometrically at 23° and μ=0.5 M, are reported. Acidity constants of the protonated ligands and formation constants of the binary iron(II) complexes [Fe(TPTZ)2]2+ and [Fe(terpy)2]2+, measured as an adjunct to determining the ternary complex constants, are also reported. The results are of interest in elucidating mixed-ligand complexation effects as well as in confirming or correcting previously reported equilibrium constants of the binary complexes.  相似文献

Abstract

A novel dioxime, 1,2 dihydroxyimino-3,7-diaza-9,10-O-benzaloctane (LH2) was prepared by reaction of l,2-0-benzylidene-4-aza-7-aminoheptane and anti-phenylchloroglyoxime in absolute ethanol. Mononuclear complexes with a metal-ligand ratio of 1:2 were prepared with Co(II), Cu(II) and Ni(II). To elucidate the structures of the ligand and complexes, elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral data and magnetic susceptibility measurements have been examined.  相似文献

Abstract

1-Hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (hexadecyl cyclam) and 1-(3,7,11,15-tetramethyl) hexadecyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (tetramethylhexadecyl cyclam) have been synthesized and their deprotonation and ligand-metal formation constants, K, determined for Cu(II), Zn(II) and Pb(II). The coupling of a long hydrocarbon chain to a ring nitrogen decreased the general ability of the cyclam ring to complex with metal ions. The greatest effect appeared to be for Cu(II) decreasing from a pK of 27 for cyclam to about 17. The titrations were fitted by HYPERQUAD and the concentrations of the intermediate complexes obtained as a function of pH. Metal-ligand complexes LMH2 4+, LMH2+ and LM2+ can coexist through a wide pH range. We have also calculated a composite metal-binding constant, K′, to reflect more accurately the overall ability of these ligands to bind a metal at any particular pH. K′, which is 14.6 for (hexadecyl cyclam)-Cu(II), is constructed from the concentrations of all the metal-chelated species at pH = 7. Generally, K′ is much lower than K.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis and properties of new cationic iron(II) complexes of general formula [(η5-C5H5)FeL(η2-dppa)]A [A=I?, L = CO(1); A = BF4, L = CO(2) CH3CN(4), η1-dppa(5); dppa = NH(PPh2)2] are described. The carbonyl complex [(η5-C5H5)Fe(CO)(η2-dppa)]BF4 is deprotonated to give the neutral complex [(η5-C5H5)Fe(CO){η2-(PPh2)2N}](3). All complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis and IR and NMR spectroscopies. Cyclic voltammetry of complexes 1–5 shows a diverse redox chemistry in acetonitrile solution. While the reduction of 1 and 2 leads to the formation of a dinuclear Fe(I) complex, 4 and 5 form mononuclear species of Fe(I); oxidation of metal centers of 1 and 2 is not observed and in complexes 3 and 4 the metal centers are oxidized at potentials < 1. Complex 5 in acetonitrile solution is transformed into complex 4.  相似文献

Abstract

The stepwise complex formation between 2-amino-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol (TRIS) with Co(II) and Mn(II) was studied by potentiometry at constant ionic strength 2.0 M (NaClO4) and T = (25.0 ± 0.1)°C, from pH measurements. Data of average ligand number (Bjerrum's function) were obtained from such measurements followed by integration to obtain Leden's function, F 0(L). Graphical treatment and matrix solution of simultaneous equations have shown two overall stability constants of mononuclear stepwise complexes for the Mn(II)/TRIS system (β1 = (5.04 ± 0.02) M?1 and β2 = (5.4 ± 0.5) M?2) and three for the Co(II)/TRIS system (β1 = (1.67 ± 0.02) × 102 M?1, β2 = (7.01 ± 0.05) × 103 M?2 and β3 = (2.4 ± 0.4) × 104 M?3). Slow spontaneous oxidation of Co(II) solutions by dissolved oxygen, accelerated by S(IV), occurs in a buffer solution TRIS/HTRIS+ 0.010/0.030 M, with a synergistic effect of Mn(II).  相似文献

New heteronuclear complexes containing oxorhenium(V), Cu(II), Ni(II), Fe(III), UO2(VI) and Th(IV) ions were prepared by the reaction of the complex ligand, [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2, where H4L = 8,17-dimethyl-6,15-dioxo-5,7,14,16-tetrahydrodibenzo[a,h][14]annulene-2,11-dicarboxylic acid, with the previous transition and actinide salts. Three heteronuclear Cu(II) complexes were isolated depending on the ratio of [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2?:?Cu(II) ion. When the ratios were 1?:?0.5, 1?:?1 and 1?:?2, the heteronuclear complexes {[ReO(H3L)Cl]2CuCl2(OH2)2}SO4 · H2O (I), [ReO(H3L)Cl2Cu(OH2)2(SO4)] (II) and {ReO(H2L)Cl[Cu(OH2)3 SO4]2} (III) were obtained, respectively. Heteronuclear complexes of the other metal cations were obtained by mixing [ReO(H4L)Cl]Cl2 with the metal salt in the ratio 1?:?1 to obtain the heteronuclear complexes [ReO(H3L)Cl2Ni(OH2)2](NO3)2 (IV), [ReO(H3L)Cl3Fe(OH2)3](NO3)2 (V), [ReO(H3L)ClUO2(NO3)2 (OH2)]Cl (VI) and [ReO(H3L)Cl3Th(NO3)2(OH2)]NO3 · 2H2O (VII). The complex ligand coordinates with the heterometal ion via the carboxylate group, and the infrared bands νas COO and νs COO indicate that the carboxylate acts as a unidentate ligand to the heterometal cations. Cu(II) and Fe(III) cations in the heteronuclear complexes have octahedral geometry, while Ni(II) is square planar. Thermal studies explored the possibility of obtaining new heteronuclear complexes pyrolytically in the solid state from the corresponding mother complexes. The structures of the complexes were elucidated by conductance, IR and electronic spectra, magnetic moments, 1H NMR and TG-DSC measurements as well as by mass spectroscopy.  相似文献

Complex formation equilibria involving pyridine-2-carboxaldehyde oxime (1), 1-(2-pyridinyl)ethanone oxime (2) and 6-methylpyridine-2-carboxaldehyde oxime (3), HL, with zinc(II) and cadmium(II) ions were studied in aqueous 0.1 M NaCl solution at 25° C by potentiometric titrations with a glass electrode. Experimental data were analysed with the least-squares computer program SUPERQUAD to determine the complexes formed and their stability constants. With Ligands 1 and 2 the sets of complexes for Zn(II) and Cd(II) are essentially the same, mono- and dinuclear oxime complexes and their deprotonated/hydrolysed products HpMq(HL)2q+p r. Owing to the steric requirements of the 6-methyl group, sets of complexes formed with 3 are distinctly different. For zinc(II), only dinuclear oximato species HpZn2(HL)4q+p 2 ( p = ? 2, ? 3, ? 4) are found, while for the larger cadmium(II) ion mononuclear oximato species CdL+ and CdL2 are detected in addition to the dinuclear complex HpCd2(HL)4q+p 2 ( p = ? 3).  相似文献

Reaction of the ligand 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole (DPBTZ) with Hg(SCN)2, Tl(NO3)3, CuCl, and PdCl2 gives complexes with stoichiometry [Hg(DPBTZ)(SCN)2], [Tl(DPBTZ)(NO3)3], [Cu(DPBTZ)(H2O)Cl], and [Pd(DPBTZ)Cl2]. The new complexes were characterized by elemental analyses and infrared spectroscopy. The crystal structure of [Hg(DPBTZ)(SCN)2] determined by X-ray crystallography. The Hg atom in the title monomeric complex, (2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole)mercury(II)bisthiocyanate, [Hg(C18H12N2S2)(SCN)2], is four-coordinate having an irregular tetrahedral geometry composed of two S atoms of thiocyanate ions [Hg-S 2.4025(15) and 2.4073(15) Å] and two N atoms of 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole ligand [Hg-N 2.411(4) and 2.459(4) Å]. The bond angle S(3)-Hg(1)-S(4) of 147.46(5)° has the greatest derivation from ideal tetrahedral geometry. Intermolecular interaction between Hg(1) and two S atoms of two neighboring molecules, 3.9318(15) and 3.9640(18) Å, make the Hg(1) distort from a tetrahedron to a disordered octahedron. The attempts for preparation complexes of Tl(I), Pb(II), Bi(III), Cd(II) ions with 2,2′-diphenyl-4,4′-bithiazole ligand were not successful and also the attempts for preparation complexes of 4,4′,5,5′-tetraphenyl-2,2′-bithizole ligand with Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Co(III), Mn(II), Mn(III), Fe(II), Fe(III), Cr(III), Zn(II), Tl(III), Pb(II), Hg(II), Cu(I), Pd(II) were not successful. This point can be regarded as the initial electron withdrawing of phenyl rings and also their spatial steric effects.  相似文献

In this study, 1,2-dihydroxyimino-3,7-di-aza-9,10-O-α-methyl benzal decane (LH2) was synthesized starting from 1,2-O-α-methyl benzal-4-aza-7-amino heptane (RNH2) and antichloroglyoxime. With this ligand, complexes were synthesized using Ni(II) and Cu(II) salts with a metal:ligand ratio of 1:2. However, the reaction of the ligand with salts of Zn(II) and Cd(II) gave products with metal:ligand ratio of 1:1. Structures of the ligand and its complexes are proposed based on elemental analyses, IR, 13C- and 1H-NMR spectra, magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermogravimetric analyses (TGA).  相似文献

Abstract

The reaction kinetics of eight amino-carboxylate complexes of Fe(III) and Mn(II) with carbonate radical anion were studied using the pulse radiolysis method and UV-vis spectroscopy. Difference spectra revealed the formation of Fe(IV) and Mn(III) after reaction with CO3??. Spectral measurements revealed the first step to be the coordination of carbonate to the metal center. All of these led to the conclusion that the role of coordinated carbonate is essential to the electron transfer process by carbonate radical anion.  相似文献

The reaction of the potassium salt of the N-(thio)phosphorylated thioureas AdNHC(S)NHP(O)(OiPr)2 (HLI , Ad = Adamantyl) and MeNHC(S)NHP(S)(OiPr)2 (HLII ) with Co(II) and Zn(II) in aqueous EtOH leads to [MLI,II 2] chelate complexes. They were investigated by UV-vis, 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy, and microanalysis. The molecular structures of [MLI 2] were elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The metal centers in both complexes are found to be in a distorted-tetrahedral O2S2 environment formed by the C=S sulfur atoms and the P=O oxygen atoms of two deprotonated LI ligands. The photoluminescence properties of [ZnLII 2] are also reported.  相似文献

Two new zinc(II) and cadmium(II) complexes, [Zn(PDT)2(NCS)2] (1) and [Cd((PDT)2I1.6(H2O)0.4(OH)0.4] · 0.4H2O (2) (“PDT” is the abbreviation of 3-(2-pyridyl)-5, 6-diphenyl-1,2,4-triazine), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR spectroscopy, and studied by X-ray crystallography. Zinc(II) in 1 is six coordinate ZnN6. 2 is a co-crystal with cadmium(II) being 60% six-coordinated with a CdN4I2 environment and 40% seven-coordinated with a CdN4O2I environment. The supramolecular features in these complexes are guided/controlled by weak directional intermolecular S ··· π, C–H ··· π, C–H ··· I, and π ··· π interactions.  相似文献

Cobalt(II) complexes of N-methyl phenyl, 1-phenylpiperazyl, and morpholinyl dithiocarbamates have been synthesized and characterized by UV–Visible, FTIR, 1H-, 13C-NMR, and mass spectrometry. The spectroscopic data indicated that two ligands coordinated in bidentate chelating to the metal ion to form four-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes (13), which was confirmed by mass analysis (TOF MS ES+) of the complexes with m/z [M]+ = 450.98, 382.94, and 382.94 for 1, 2, and 3, respectively. Single crystal analysis of 2A and 3A show centrosymmetric mononuclear cobalt(III) bonded to three dithiocarbamate ligands forming a distorted octahedral geometry, indicating the cobalt(II) undergoes aerial oxidation to cobalt(III) during recrystallization. In addition, 2A crystallized with one solvated molecule of toluene. The redox behaviors of the complexes were studied by cyclic and square wave voltammetry in dichloromethane; the result revealed a metal centered redox process consisting of a one-electron quasi-reversible process assigned to Co(III)/Co(IV) oxidation and a corresponding Co(IV)/Co(III) reduction. Randles–Sevcik plots (anodic peak current versus the square root of the scan rate (Ip,a versus ν1/2)) for the redox couples revealed diffusion-controlled behavior.  相似文献

Methionine sulfoxide complexes of iron(II) and copper(II) were synthesized and characterized by chemical and spectroscopic techniques. Elemental and atomic absorption analyses fit the compositions K2[Fe(metSO)2]SO4·H2O and [Cu(metSO)2]·H2O. Electronic absorption spectra of the complexes are typical of octahedral geometries. Infrared spectroscopy suggests coordination of the ligand to the metal through the carboxylate and sulfoxide groups. An EPR spectrum of the Cu(II) complex indicates tetragonal distortion of its octahedral symmetry. 57Fe Mössbauer parameters are also consistent with octahedral stereochemistry for the iron(II) complex. The complexes are very soluble in water.  相似文献

Abstract

The coordination properties of 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide (Hats) with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) ions, are analyzed. Although the ligand presents several donor atoms, we have only observed three coordination behaviors: (i) as a monodentate ligand through the Nsulfonamido atom, (ii) as a bridging ligand linking the metal ions through the Nsulfonamido and Nthiadizole atoms and (iii) as a bridging ligand linking metal ions through the N and O atoms of the sulfonamidate group. It is noteworthy that coordination mode (iii) is observed for the first time in heterocyclic sulfonamides complexes. In addition, the conformation of the Hats as counter-ion is analyzed and compared with the conformations that the ligand adopts in metal complexes.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis and characterization of the complexes [NiCl(SeAr)(DPPE)] (1) and [Ni(SeAr)2(DPPE)] (2) (where Ar = C6H5 (a), 4-MeOC6H4 (b) or 4-EtOC6H4 (c), and DPPE = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)-ethane) is reported. Characterization of the compounds was based on elemental analysis, molecular weight and conductivity measurements, IR, electronic, 1H and 31P NMR spectra. Available evidence supports a square planar environment around Ni(II) in 1 and 2. Metathetical reaction between 1b and NaX (X = Br (d) or I (e)) in MeOH gives [NiX(SeAr)(DPPE)] (3). Electrochemical studies of 1 and 2 using cyclic voltammetry indicate an irreversible cathodic peak (ca ?0.56 to ?0.70 V) corresponding to reduction of nickel(II) to nickel (O).  相似文献

Naphthaldimines containing N2O2 donor centers react with platinum(II) and (IV) chlorides to give two types of complexes depending on the valence of the platinum ion. For [Pt(II)], the ligand is neutral, [(H2L1)PtCl2]·3H2O (1) and [(H2L3)2Pt2Cl4]·5H2O (3), or monobasic [(HL2)2Pt2Cl2]·2H2O (2) and [(HL4)2Pt]·2H2O (4). These complexes are all diamagnetic having square-planar geometry. For [Pt(IV)], the ligand is dibasic, [(L1)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·2H2O (5), [(L2)Pt3Cl10]·3H2O (6), [(L3)Pt2Cl4(OH)2]·C2H5OH (7) and [(L4)Pt2Cl6]·H2O (8). The Pt(IV) complexes are diamagnetic and exhibit octahedral configuration around the platinum ion. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis and IR spectra, electrical conductivity and thermal analyses (DTA and TGA). The molar conductances in DMF solutions indicate that the complexes are non-ionic. The complexes were tested for their catalytic activities towards cathodic reduction of oxygen.  相似文献

Abstract

The synthesis of the new ligand 1,8-bis(quinolyloxy)-3,6-dithiaoctane (1) and the corresponding Cu(II), Cu(I) and Co(II) complexes is reported. The crystal and molecular structure of the copper(II) complex, [Cu(1)](ClO4)2.3H2O, has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Fddd, with cell data Z = 16, a = 20.326(2), b = 20.879(3) and c = 28.308(4)Å. The structure consists of discrete [Cu(1)]?2+ cations separated by (structurally disordered) perchlorate anions and three lattice water molecules per cation. The coordination geometry about the copper atom is pseudo-octahedral with the quinoline nitrogen and thioether sulfur atoms at the equatorial positions and the ether oxygen atoms at the axial positions. 1H NMR line-broadening experiments indicate that electron-transfer self-exchange reactions between the copper(I) and copper(II) complexes of (1) is immeasurably slow on the NMR time-scale. The coordination chemistry of (1) is compared with its oxygen analogue, 1,8-bis(quinolyloxy)-3,6-dioxaoctane.  相似文献
