Three novel heterobinuclear complexes have been prepared and identified as [Cu(oxap)Ni(L)2](ClO4)2·ξH2O, where oxap denotes theN,N′-bis(2-aminopropyl)oxamido dianion and L denotes 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy), 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (NO2-phen). The crystal structure of [Cu(oxap)Ni(phen)2]-(ClO4)2·2H2O has been determined. Crystal data: triclinic, space group , a=12.079 (6), b=12.409 (4), c=17.261 (8) ?, α=70.91 (2), β=86.72 (4), γ=89.19 (3)o. At room temperature, Z=2. The CuII is in a square planar environment and the NiII is in an octahedral environment. The Cu−Ni distance is 5.292 ?. The temperature dependences of the magnetic susceptibilities of [Cu(oxap)Ni(phen)2]-(ClO4)2·2H2O and [Cu(oxap)Ni(bipy)2](ClO4)2 have been studied in the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integral J=−92.4 cm−1 for bipy and J=−94.3 cm−1 for phen. These results are commensurate with antiferromagnetic interactions between the adjacent metal ions.  相似文献

Summary The binuclear metal complexes [Cu(sampn)Co(L)2] (L=bipy, phen), have been prepared by the reaction of sodiumN,N-1,2-propanedisalicylamidatocuprate(II) heptahydrate, Na2[Cu(sampn)] 7H2O, with a divalent metalion, and 2,2-bipyridine or 1, 10-phenathroline. The complexes were characterized by variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements; the results indicate that a weak antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction operates between the metal ions.  相似文献

Summary MnII, NiII and CuII complexes of (1,3-bis-aminomethyl)-cyclohexane-N,N,N,N-tetrakisbenzimidazole (CDTB) have been prepared and characterized by spectral techniques. The complexes are monomeric and pseudo-octa-hedral, as evidenced by their e.p.r. spectra and analytical data. In this study, a mononuclear CuL complex was prepared by the use of bis-N,N′-(salicylidene)-1, 3-propanediamine (LH2) and Cu2+ ion. NiCl2 and NiBr2 salt were treated with this complex in dioxanewater medium and two new complexes [(CuL)2NiCl2(H2O)2] and [(CuL)2NiBr2(H2O)2)] with Cu(II)–Ni(II)–Cu(II) nucleus structure were obtained. In addition to this bis-N,N′-(2-hydroxybenzyl)-1,3-diaminopropane (LHH2) was prepared by the reduction of LH2 with NaBH4 in MeOH medium. The treatment of this reduced complex with Cu2+ ion resulted a complex [(CuLH)2CuCl2] with a structure of Cu(II)–Cu(II)–Cu(II). The complexes prepared were characterized by the use of elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric and X-ray diffraction methods. The crystal structures of [(CuL)2NiBr2(H2O)2] (СIF file CCDC 1448402) and [(CuLH)2CuCl2] (СIF file CCDC 1448401) complexes were elucidated. It was found that halogen ions are coordinated to terminal Cu2+ ions which are in a distorted square pyramid coordination sphere. It was determined that the central Cu(II), which joins terminal square pyramidal Cu(II), was coordinated only by the phenolic oxygens of the ligand while the central Ni(II) was coordinated by two phenolic oxygens of the organic ligand and two water molecules. These complexes were investigated by XPS and it was found that the terminal and central Cu2+ ions were different in Cu(II)–Cu(II)–Cu(II) complex. Also, the thermal degradation of the CuLH complex unit was observed to exothermic in contrast to the expectations.

Summary The reactions of manganese(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) acetates (1 mole) with antipyrine-4-azo--ethylcyanoacetate (HL1) and antipyrine-4-azo--acetylacetone (HL2) (1 mole) produce complexes of the M(L)2 type. K2PdCl4 (1 mole) reacts with HL1 and HL2 (1 mole) to yield complexes of the general formula PdLCl, the ligands behaving as monobasic tridentates. The electronic spectral and magnetic data show the complexes to be high-spin octahedral, whereas the palladium(II) complexes are diamagnetic square planar. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, conductance measurements and i.r. and electronic spectra as well as magnetic susceptibility measurements and thermal (t.g.a. and d.t.a.) analysis.Nuclear Material Authority.  相似文献

New N-substituted cyclam ligands 1,8-[bis(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl)benzyl]-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, 1,8-[bis(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-methyl)benzyl]-4,11-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, 1,8-[bis(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-bromo)benzyl]-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane, and 1,8-[bis(3-formyl-2-hydroxy-5-bromo)benzyl]-4,11-dimethyl-1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane (L1–L4) were synthesized and mononuclear copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes prepared. The ligands and complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, electronic, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral studies. N-alkylation causes red shifts in the λmax values of the complexes. Copper(II) complexes show one-electron, quasi-reversible reduction waves in the range ?1.04 to ?1.00 V. The nickel(II) complexes show one-electron, quasi-reversible reduction waves in the range ?1.18 to ?1.30 V and one-electron, quasi-reversible oxidation waves in the range +1.20 to +1.40 V. The reduction potential of the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of the ligands L1 to L2 and L3 to L4 shift anodically on N-alkylation. The ESR spectra of the mononuclear copper(II) complexes show four lines, characteristic of square-planar geometry with nuclear hyperfine spin 3/2. All copper(II) complexes show a normal room temperature magnetic moment value μeff?=?1.70–1.74 BM which is close to the spin only value of 1.73 BM. Kinetic studies on the oxidation of pyrocatechol to o-quinone using the copper(II) complexes as catalysts and on the hydrolysis of 4-nitrophenylphosphate using the copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes as catalyst were carried out. The tetra-N-substituted complexes have higher rate constants than the corresponding disubstituted complexes.  相似文献

A project related to the crystal engineering of hydrogen-bonded coordination complexes has been initiatied and some of our first results are presented here. The compounds [Mn(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (1), [Ni(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (2), [Cu(OClO3)2(DMU)4] (3) and [Zn(DMU)6](ClO4)2 (4) have all been prepared from the reaction of N,N-dimethylurea (DMU) and the appropriate hydrated metal perchlorate salt. Crystal structure determinations of the four compounds demonstrate the existence of [M(DMU)6]2+ cations and ClO4 counterions in (1), (2) and (4), whereas in (3) monodentate coordination of the perchlorate groups leads to molecules. The [M(DMU)6]2+ cations and ClO4 anions self-assemble to form a hydrogen-bonded one-dimensional (1D) architecture in (1) and different 2D hydrogen-bonded networks in (2) and (4). The hydrogen bonding functionalities on the molecules of (3) create a 2D structure. The complexes were also characterised by room-temperature effective magnetic moments and i.r. studies. The data are discussed in terms of the nature of bonding and the known structures.  相似文献

Summary Nickel(II) and palladium(II) complexes of the 1,3-di(o-aminophenylthio) propane (H2L1) and 1,2-di(o-aminophenylthio)xylene (H2L2) ligands have been prepared and characterized. The hydrobromide salt of H2L1 gave a 12 ligand-metal complex of PdII, whereas free H2L1 formed the usual 1:1 species. The reaction of Na2PdCl4 with H2L2 resulted in S,S-dealkylation of the ligand and formation of a mononuclear complex of the corresponding thiol, i.e. 2-aminobenzenethiol. NiCl2, NiBr2 and Ni(ClO4)2 did not react directly with H2L2. NiII is a fairly hard ion and therefore does not coordinate to the soft thioether moiety in H2L2 in the absence of soft anions which symbiotically motivate NiII to act as a soft acceptor. It thus does not react with H2L2 in the presence of hard ions such as Cl, Br- and ClO 4 , but, the in situ reaction of the constituents produced the tetrahedral NiII complex, contrary to earlier reports of similar types of octahedral species.  相似文献

Microwave chemistry is a green chemical method that improves reaction conditions and product yields while reducing solvent amounts and reaction times. The main aim of this article is to synthesize the tetradentate N2O2 ligand [HO(Ar)CH=N–(CH2)2–N=CH(Ar)OH] and manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and zinc(II) complexes of the type ML by classical and microwave techniques. The resulting Schiff base and its complexes are characterized by 1H NMR, infrared, elemental analysis, and electronic spectral data. The ligand and its Co(II) and Mn(II) complexes were further identified by X-ray diffraction and mass spectra to confirm the structure. The results suggest that the metal is bonded to the ligand through the phenolic oxygen and the imino nitrogen.  相似文献

The coordination in aqueous solution of 4-chloro-1,2-phenylenediamine-N',N',N',N'-tetraacetic acid (4-Cl-o-PDTA) with Be(II) and with the transition metal cations cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) was reported in earlier publications.1,2 In this note a study is presented of the coordination in aqueous solution (25°C, 1 = 0.1 M in KC1) of 4-CI-o-PDTA acid with magnesium(II), calcium(II), strontium(II), barium(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II).  相似文献

Treatment of [MI2(CO)3(NCMe)2] with two equivalents of 4,4-bipyridine (4,4-bipy) in CH2Cl2 at room temperature gave the MeCN displaced products, [MI2(CO)3(4,4-bipy-N)2] (1) and (2). Equimolar amounts of [MI2(CO)3(NCMe)2] and L (L = PPh3, AsPh3 or SbPh3) react to give [MI2(CO)3(NCMe)L], which when reacted in situ with 4,4-bipy yield the new complexes, [MI2(CO)3(4,4-bipy-N)L] (3)(8). Reaction of equimolar quantities of [WI2(CO)(NCMe)( 2-RC2R)2] (R = Me or Ph) and 4,4-bipy gave the new bis(alkyne) complexes, [WI2(CO)(4,4-bipy-N)( 2-RC2R)2] (9) and (10). Treatment of [MI2(CO)3(NCMe)2] with two equivalents of (9) or (10) in CH2Cl2 at room temperature affords the bimetallic complexes, [MI2(CO)3{WI2(CO)(4,4-bipy-N,N)( 2-RC2R)2}2] (11)(14). Equimolar quantities of [MI2(CO)3(NCMe)(PPh3)] (prepared in situ) and (9) or (10), react to give the 4,4-bipy-bridged complexes, [MI2(CO)3{WI2(CO)(4,4-bipy-N,N)( 2-RC2R)2}(PPh3)] (15)(18). All the new complexes, (1)(18) were characterised by elemental analysis (C, H and N), i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. spectroscopy.  相似文献

Using spectrophotometry we found that ligand exchange in the systems of H2L-[MX2]-DMF, where M denotes Co2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+; X means Acac?, Val?, dpm?; Hdpm? is hexamethyldipyrrolylmethene, H2L is bis(2,4,7,8,9-pentamethyldipyrrolylmethene-3-yl)methane, proceeds through successive stages of formation of hetero- and homoleptic binuclear complexes. The thermal decomposition behaviour of polymeric complexes of Cu(II) and Hg(II) with N,N-bis(dithiocarboxy)piperazine is investigated in air by thermogravimetric (TG), derivative thermogravimetric (DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) techniques. The kinetic parameters (non-isothermal method) for their decomposition have been evaluated by graphical as well as by least-squares methods. The equations of Coats-Redfern, Freeman-Carroll and Horowitz-Metzger have been applied. The results indicate that the values ofE,A and S obtained by these three different methods agree well. It was also found that the decomposition of these metal chelates follow first-order kinetics.
Zusammenfassung Mittels TG, DTG und DTA wurde das thermische Zersetzungsverhalten von Polymerkomplexen aus Cu(II) bzw. Hg(II) mit N,N-Bis(dithiocarboxy)piperazin an Luft untersucht. Für ihre Zersetzung (nichtisotherme Methode) wurden die kinetischen Parameter sowohl graphisch als auch durch Methoden mit den kleinsten Fehlerquadraten ermittelt. Dabei wurden die Gleichungen von Coats-Redfern, Freeman-Carroll und von Horowitz-Metzger angewendet. Alle drei Verfahren zeigen übereinstimmende Resultate fürE, A undS. Es wurde weiterhin gefunden, daß diese Metallchelate einer Reaktion erster Ordnung unterliegen.

Summary New potential tetradentate ligands, N-benzoyl-N-thiobenzohydrazide (H2BTBH) and N-salicyl-N-thiobenzohydrazide (H2SBTH) have been prepared and characterized. Their complexes with CoII, NiII and ZnII have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility measurements, and u.v.-vis., i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. spectral studies. The bonding and stereochemistries of the complexes are discussed. H2BTBH, H2SBTH and the complexes have been screened towards a number of bacteria.  相似文献

New complexes of type [M(HL)(CH3COO)(OH2)m]·nH2O (where M:Co, m = 2, n = 2; M:Ni, m = 2, n = 1.5; M:Zn, m = 0, n = 2.5 and M:Cd, m = 0, n = 0; H2L:5-bromo-N,N′-bis-(salicylidene)-o-tolidine) have been synthesized and characterized by microanalytical, IR, UV–Vis-NIR and magnetic data. Electronic spectra of Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes are characteristic for an octahedral stereochemistry. The IR spectra indicate a chelate coordination mode for mono-deprotonated Schiff base and a bidentate one for acetate ion. The thermal transformations are complex according to TG and DTA curves including dehydration, acetate decomposition and oxidative degradation of the Schiff base. The final product of decomposition is the most stable metallic oxide.  相似文献
