A new series of acyclic mononuclear copper(II) complexes have been prepared by Schiff-base condensation derived from 5-methylsalicylaldehyde, diethylenetriamine, tris(2-aminoethyl) amine, triethylenetetramine, N,N-bis(3-aminopropyl)ethylene diamine, N,N-bis(aminopropyl) piperazine, and copper perchlorate. All the complexes were characterized by elemental and spectral analyses. Electronic spectra of the complexes show a d–d transition in the range 500–800?nm, electrochemical studies of the complexes show irreversible one-electron-reduction process around ?1.10 to ?1.60?V. The reduction potential of the mononuclear copper(II) complexes shifts toward anodic direction upon increasing the chain length of the imine compartment. ESR spectra of the mononuclear copper(II) complexes show four lines, characteristic of square-planar geometry, with nuclear hyperfine spin 3/2. The copper(II) complexes show a normal room temperature magnetic moment value μ eff?=?1.72–1.76?BM, close to the spin-only value of 1.73?BM. Electrochemical and catalytic studies of the complexes were compared on the basis of increasing the chain length of the imine compartment. All the complexes were screened for antifungal and antibacterial activities.  相似文献

Several new mononuclear copper(II) complexes, [Cu(phen)2L]PF6, where phen = 1,10-phenanthroline and L = monoanions of phenylcyanamide (pcyd), 2,5-dichlorophenylcyanamide (2,5-Cl2pcyd), 2-dichlorophenylcyanamide (2-Clpcyd) and 4-methylphenylcyanamide (4-Mepcyd), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, UV–Vis, IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies and cyclic voltammetry. [Cu(phen)2(2,5-Cl2pcyd)]PF6 crystallized with a molecule of acetone with empirical formula of C31H20N6OF6Cl2PCu in a triclinic crystal system and space group P 1 with a = 9.2086(6) Å, b = 13.3117(9) Å, c = 15.5313(10) Å, α = 107.8210(10)°, β = 104.6180(10)°, γ = 104.1670(10)°, V = 1643.21(19) Å3 and Z = 2. The structure was refined using 7555 Mo-Kα reflections with I > 2σ(I) and R 1 = 0.0276 and Rw = 0.0692. The results are consistent with a mostly σ bonding interaction between Cu(II) and cyanamide anion. The LMCT band intensity and electrochemical potentials are compared with ruthenium phenylcyanamide analogues.  相似文献

Two new phenol based macroacyclic Schiff base ligands, 2,6-bis({N-[2-(phenylselenato)ethyl]}benzimidoyl)-4-methylphenol (bpebmpH, 1) and 2,6-bis({N-[3-(phenylselenato)propyl]}benzimidoyl)-4-methylphenol (bppbmpH, 2) of the Se2N2O type have been prepared by the condensation of 4-methyl-2,6-dibenzoylphenol (mdbpH) with the appropriate (for specific reactions) phenylselenato(alkyl)amine. These ligands with Cu(II) acetate monohydrate in a 2:1 molar ratio in methanol form complexes of the composition [(C6H2(O)(CH3){(C6H5)CN(CH2)nSe(C6H5)}{(C6H5)CO}2Cu] (3 (n = 2), 4 (n = 3)) with the loss of phenylselenato(alkyl)amine and acetic acid. In both these complexes, one arm of the ligand molecule undergoes hydrolysis, and links with Cu(II) in a bidentate (NO) fashion, as confirmed by single crystal X-ray crystallography of complex 3. The selenium atoms do not form part of the copper(II) distorted square planar coordination sphere which has a trans-CuN2O2 core. The average Cu–N and Cu–O distances are, respectively, 1.973(3) and 1.898(2) Å. The N–Cu–N and O–Cu–O angles are, respectively, 167.4(11)° and 164.5(12)°. The compounds 1–4 have been characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, mass spectrometry, IR, electronic, 1H and 77Se{1H} NMR spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The interaction of complex 3 with calf thymus DNA has been investigated by a spectrophotometric method and cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

Two new potentially octadentate N2O6 Schiff-base ligands 2-((E)-(2-(2-(2-((E)-2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylideneamino)phenoxy)phenoxy)phenylimino)methyl)-6-methoxyphenol H2L1 and 2-((E)-(2-(2-(2-((E)-2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylideneamino)phenoxy)-4-tert-butylphenoxy)phenylimino)methyl)-6-methoxyphenol H2L2 were prepared from the reaction of O-Vaniline with 1,2-bis(2′-aminophenoxy)benzene or 1,2-bis(2′-aminophenoxy)-4-t-butylbenzene, respectively. Reactions of H2L1 and H2L2 with copper(II) and zinc(II) salts in methanol in the presence of N(Et)3 gave neutral [CuL1]?·?0.5CH2Cl2, [CuL2], [ZnL1]?·?0.5CH2Cl2, and [ZnL2] complexes. The complexes were characterized by IR spectra, elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, ESI–MS spectra, molar conductance (Λm), UV-Vis spectra and, in the case of [ZnL1]?·?0.5CH2Cl2 and [ZnL2], with 1H- and 13C-NMR. The crystal structure of [ZnL1]?·?0.5CH2Cl2 has also been determined showing the metal ion in a highly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. The electrochemical behavior of H2L2 and its Cu(II) complex, [CuL2], was studied and the formation constant of [CuL2] was evaluated using cyclic voltammetry. The logarithm value of formation constant of [CuL2] is 21.9.  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) complexes of a family of pyridylmethylamide ligands HL, HLMe, HLPh, HLMe3 and HLPh3, [HL = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide; HLMe = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)propionamide; HLPh = 2-phenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide; HLMe3 = 2,2-dimethyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)propionamide; HLPh3 = 2,2,2-triphenyl-N-(2-pyridylmethyl)acetamide], were synthesized and characterized. The reaction of copper(II) salts with the pyridylmethylamide ligands yields complexes [Cu(HL)2(OTf)2] (1), [Cu(HLMe)2](ClO4)2 (2), [Cu(HL)2Cl]2[CuCl4] (3), [Cu(HLMe3)2(THF)](OTf)2 (4), [Cu(HLMe3)2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (5a and 5b), [Cu(HLPh3)2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (6), [Cu(HL)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)](ClO4)2 (7), and [Cu(HLPh)(2,2′-bipy)(H2O)](ClO4)2 (8). All complexes were fully characterized, and the X-ray structures vary from four-coordinate square-planar, to five-coordinate square-pyramidal or trigonal-bipyramidal. The neutral ligands coordinate via the pyridyl N atom and carbonyl O atom in a bidentate fashion. The spectroscopic properties are typical of mononuclear copper(II) species with similar ligand sets, and are consistent their X-ray structures.  相似文献

A series of Mn(II) macrocyclic Schiff-base complexes [MnLnCl]+ (n = 1–4) have been prepared via the Mn(II) templated [1+1] cyclocondensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine or 2,6-pyridinedicarbaldehyde with the symmetrical 1,4-bis(3-aminopropyl)piperazine or the novel asymmetrical N,N′(2-aminoethyl)(3-aminopropyl)piperazine linear amines containing piperazine moiety. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, FAB-MS, magnetic studies and conductivity measurements. The crystal structure of [MnL2(CH3OH)Cl](ClO4) and [MnL4Cl](PF6) complexes have also been determined showing the metal ion in a N4OCl pentagonal bipyramidal or N4Cl highly distorted octahedral geometry, respectively.  相似文献

The present work illustrates the versatile coordination modes of the amide-based ligands towards copper(II) ion. The reaction of the deprotonated form of the ligand, [L1]2− with CuCl2 affords a linear trinuclear complex, [Cu3(L1)2(Cl)2(H2O)] (1) which has been characterized thoroughly including single crystal structure analysis. The structure of 1 shows that one of the arm of the flexible ligand flips to coordinate second copper(II) centre, resulting in the formation of a trinuclear complex. On the other hand, ligand H2L2 in its deprotonated form reacts with Cu(II) ion to give complex 2 with general formula, [Cu(L2)]n (2). The crystal structure of the complex 2 shows that each copper is square-pyramidal with 5th coordination coming from the O-atom of the amide group from a neighbouring complex. This results in the generation of an one-dimensional zig-zag chain. The variable temperature magnetic measurements of the complexes, 1 and 2 show that while Cu ions in the former are antiferromagnetically coupled (J = −110.34 cm−1), a weak ferromagnetic interaction (J = +3.08 cm−1) exists in the later. A rationale, based on the orbital overlap from the copper ions and associated ligands, is provided for the observed magnetic coupling between the copper ions.  相似文献

Mononuclear and trinuclear zinc(II) complexes (1 and 2) with tridentate NNO Schiff-base ligands (HL1?=?N-2-pyridiylmethylidene-4-chloro-2-hydroxy-phenylamine, HL2?=?N-2-pyridiylmethylidene-2-hydroxy-5-chloro-phenylamine) have been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis. The binding properties of zinc(II) complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) and HSA were investigated by UV–visible, fluorescence, and circular dichroism spectra. The zinc(II) complexes bind significantly to CT-DNA by intercalation and bind to protein HSA through a static quenching mechanism. The in vitro cytotoxicity of the complexes on human tumor cells lines was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimathylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyl-tetrazolium bromide, Hoechst 33258 staining experiments.  相似文献

The ternary complexes of [CuII(Hist)(Tyr)]+1 and [CuII(Hist)(Trp)]+2 have been synthesized, structurally characterized and their DNA binding and cleavage abilities probed. The intrinsic binding constants (Kb) for complexes/CT-DNA were also determined (Kb = 2.7 × 102 for complex 1 and Kb = 2.2 × 102 for complex 2). These complexes exhibit their nuclease activity on plasmid DNA, which seems to depend on the nature of the aromatic moiety. The DNA hydrolytic cleavage rate constants were also determined for complexes 1 and 2, which are 0.91 and 0.79 h−1, respectively.  相似文献

Cu(II) complexes of three bis(pyrrol-2-yl-methyleneamine) ligands were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, mass spectra, and IR spectra. X-ray diffraction analysis shows that [CuL3]2 is a dinuclear complex with an extremely distorted square-planar geometry. Furthermore, the antioxidant activities of the compounds have been investigated. The electrochemical properties of the Cu(II) complexes have also been studied by cyclic voltammetry. The Cu(II) complexes show similar superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity compared with that of the native Cu, Zn-SOD.  相似文献

The reactions between five ferrocenyl derivatives containing both a CO and at least an imidazole or pyridine nitrogen atom and AgPF6, AgOTf, or [Cu(NCCH3)4]PF6 precursors were studied. The ligand {[bis(2-pyridyl)amino]carbonyl}ferrocene (L3), derived from (2-pyridyl)amine, favored tetrahedral coordination of Ag+ (with two ligands) and of Cu+ (with two acetonitrile ligands left from the precursor). In all the other ligands, both metal centers coordinated linearly to two ligands, preferring the imidazole or pyridinic nitrogen to other nitrogen atoms (amine) or oxygen donors. When the counter anions were triflate, the crystal structure showed a dimerization of the complex, with the ferrocenyl moieties occupying cis positions, by means of a weak Ag?Ag interaction. This was shown experimentally in the crystal structure of complex [Ag(L1)2]OTf (L1 = ferrocenyl imidazole) and in the presence of peaks corresponding to {Ag2(L2)3(OTf)}+ and {Ag2(L2)4(OTf)}+ in the mass spectra of [Ag(L2)2]OTf (L2 = ferrocenyl benzimidazole). In all complexes containing PF6, there was no evidence for dimerization. Indeed, in the crystal structure of [Ag(L2)2]PF6, the ferrocenyl moieties occupy trans positions and the metal centers are far from each other. DFT calculations showed that the energy of the cis and trans conformers is practically the same and the balance of crystal packing forces leads to dimerization when triflate is present.  相似文献

The metal templated Cd(II) cyclocondensation of 2,6-diacetylpiridine or 2,6-pyridinedicarbaldehyde and two different amines containing piperazine moieties have been investigated. The resulting ligands, L1 and L2 are 16- and L3 and L4 17-membered pentaaza macrocycles. The complexes have been characterized by a variety of methods including IR, 1H, 13C NMR, DEPT, COSY(H,H), HMQC(H,C), FAB spectrometry and conductivimetry measurements. The crystal structures of [CdL2Cl](CH3OH)ClO4 (2) and [CdL4(NO3)(H2O)]ClO4 (4) have been also determined, and it was shown that the geometry of the Cd(II) ion in the complexes is slightly distorted pentagonal pyramidal and pentagonal bipyramidal, respectively. The gas-phase structures of ligands, L2 and L4 and their Cd(II) complexes have also theoretically studied.  相似文献

Two types of copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes derived from benzophenone anthranoylhydrazone (L1), 2-acetonaftanone anthranoylhydrazone (L2), 4-phenylacetonaftonone anthranoylhydrazone (L3), benzophenone salicyoylhydrazone (L4), 2-acetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L5), 4-phenylacetonaftanon salicyoylhydrazone (L6) and bidentate heterocyclic base [1,10-phenanthroline (phen)] with general stoichiometry [ML2] and [ML(phen)]Cl have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, UV-vis electronic absorption spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The effect of varying pH and solvent on the absorption behavior of both ligands and complexes have been investigated. According to the IR spectra, the ligands act as monobasic bidentate and coordination takes place in the enol tautomeric form.  相似文献

Cd(ΙΙ) and Cu(II) complexes of an acyclic pentadentate Schiff base were prepared by template condensation of two equivalents of 2-acetylpyridine with one equivalent of bis(3-aminopropyl)amine in methanol. The resulting complexes [CdL(NO3)]ClO4 (1) and [CuL](ClO4)2 · CH3CN (2) were characterized by X-ray crystallography, elemental analysis, IR and mass spectrometry in both cases and by NMR in the case of 1. The X-ray crystallographic structure determination of these complexes revealed six-coordinate distorted octahedral geometry for 1, with the sixth coordination by nitrate and five-coordinate for 2 with trigonal-bipyramidal Cu(II).  相似文献

On reaction of different copper(II) salts with 3,4-bis(2-pyridylmethylthio)toluene (L) having neutral tetradentate NSSN donor set in different chemical environments, two mononuclear copper(II), one dinuclear copper(I) and one dinuclear copper(II) complexes, formulated as [CuII(L)(H2O)2](NO3)2 (1), [CuII(pic)2] (2), [CuI2(L)2](ClO4)2 (3) and [CuII2(L)2Cl2](ClO4)2 (4), respectively, were isolated in pure form [where pic = picolinate]. All the complexes were characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods. The product of the reactions are dependent on the counter anion of copper(II) salts used as reactant and on the reaction medium. Complexes 1 and 4 were obtained with nitrate and perchlorate copper(II) salts, respectively. On the other hand, C–S bond cleavage was observed in the reaction of L with copper(II) chloride to form in situ picolinic acid and complex 2. Dinuclear complexes 3 and 4 were separated out when copper(II) perchlorate was allowed to react with L in methanol and in acetonitrile, respectively, under aerobic condition. The X-ray diffraction analysis of the dinuclear complex 3 shows a highly distorted tetrahedral geometry about each copper ion. Complex 4 is converted to 3 in acetonitrile in presence of catechol. The spectral study of complex 4 with calf thymus DNA is indicative of a groove binding mode interaction.  相似文献

Syntheses of nickel(II) complexes of the tetraaza macrocycles 2,7-dichloro-1,3,6,8-tetraazacyclodecane (DCCD) and 2,8-dichloro-1,3,7,9-tetraazacyclododecane (DICD) and a copper(II) complex of 2,6,8,12,13,17-hexaazabicyclo[5.5.5]heptadecane (HBCH) are reported in the template condensation of trichloromethane with 1,2-diaminoethane or 1,3-diaminopropane. Formulation of the synthesized products [Ni(DCCD)(H2O)2]Cl2, [Ni(DICD)(H2O)2]Cl2?·?H2O, and [Cu3(HBCH)(H2O)6]Cl6, and the metal-free ligand hydrochloride HBCH?·?6HCl has been confirmed by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, and spectral studies. Potentiometric studies of nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of HBCH and structurally similar 2,5,8,10,13,16,17,20,23-nonaazabicyclo[7.7.7]tricosane (NACT, earlier derived from trichloromethane and diethylenetriamine) have also been performed in the structural support of HBCH. In 1?:?1, metal?:?HBCH solution, copper(II) is coordinated to four N-donors of two-HN(CH2)3NH– groups of the ligand in a non-planar tetraaza cavity. The equilibrium constant value (log?K?=?15.41) for the reaction Cu2+?+?A???CuA2+ (A?=?HBCH) is in favor of the cyclic structure of the ligand. A high value (log?K?=?23.27) for corresponding reaction in the NACT system is due to conformational change in the ligand, where copper(II) organizes the macrocycle to form a nearly planar cavity in which the cation fits well.  相似文献
