THE GROWTH OF SINGLE CRYSTAL AND THE DETERMINATION OF CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC PA RAMETERS OF (L-TRYPTOPHAN)~(A1)-INSULIN AND (D-TRYPTOPHAN)~(A1)-INSULIN

The crystal-growing conditions and the results of preliminary X-ray crystallographic analysis of (L-Try)~(A1)-insulin and (D-Try)~(A1)-insulin are reported. The single crystals of this pair of insulin analogue suitable for X-ray diffraction analysis have been grown in the citrate buffer system by still-setting method. They both belong to the trigonal system with space group R3. The parameters of the unit cell (L-Trp)~(A1)-insulin are αH= 80.31, cH= 37.45 and those of (D-Trp)~(A1)-insulin αH = 79.48, cH = 43.81. There are two molecules in an asymmetric unit. The obtained results are discussed.     

SYNTHESIS OF AB AND ABA TYPES POLYSTYRENE (A)-POLYOXYETHYLENE(B) BLOCK COPOLYMERS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THEIR STRUCTURES

α-Phenyl ethyl potassium was synthesized and used in the preparation of AB type polysty-rene (A)-polyoxyethylene (B) block copolymer. The effects of polymerization time and temperaturewere studied. ABA type block copolymers were prepared by combining AB type block copolymerscontaining one hydroxyl end group using toluene diisocyanate as coupling agent. Both copolymerswere purified, characterized by NMR, IR, UV. DSC, polarized microscopy and X-ray diffractionmethod and compared with mixture of homopolymers.

ABSOLUTE CONFIGURATION OF (-)ANISODINE (A NEW GANGLIO BLOCKING AGENT) AND (-)ANISODINIC ACID

A new tropane alkaloid, (-)anisodlne (Ⅰ), was isolated from the plant of Anisodus tanguticus. It is a novel ganglio blocking agent. The absolute configuration of (-)anisodinic acid (Ⅶ), which-is the side chain of (-)anisodine, was determined by chemical correlation with (R) (-)-2-phenyl-1, 2-propanediol (Ⅳ) and (R) (-)-2-hydroxy-2-phenylpropionic acid (Ⅵ). Thereby (-)anisodine with the absolute configuration shown as (Ⅰ) is 6β, 7β-epoxy-1αH, 5αH-tropan-3α-ol (S) 2'-phenyl-2', 3'-dihydroxypropionate. Two new tropane alkaloids: 6β, 7β-epoxy-1αH, 5αH-tropan-3α-ol 2',3'-epox-ypropionate (Ⅲ) and 2'-phenyl-2'-hydroxypropionate (Ⅴ) were prepared and its physical constant is reported in this paper.     

A NEW SYNTHESIS OF dl- AND (R) -MUSCONE FROM CYCLODODECANONE

dl-And (R)-muscone were synthesized from the readily available cyclododecanone by a free radical ring expansion in overall yields of 51% and 32% respectively.     

SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF A NOVEL INFINITE-LAYER COPPER(Ⅱ)COMPLEX BRIDGED BY OXAMIDE AND PYRIMIDINE

The complex polymer[Cu_2(oxap)(pyr)_2]_n(ClO_4)_(2n),where oxap~(2-)stands for N,N'-bis(2—aminopropyl)oxamide,have been synthesized.It crystallizes in monoclinic system,space group P2_1/C,with a=8.721(2),b=8.679(2),c=16.741(2),β=98.59(0),Z=4.Theleast-square refinement coverged at R=0.054,R_w=0.055 with 1869 unique reflections.Thewhole structure of the complcx consists of layers of two-dimensional network arrayingalong a-axis with perchlorate ions interspersed in the gap between layers.Inside the layer.trans-oxamide-bridged copper(Ⅱ)dimers connected by pyrimidine in an asymmetric fashionspread out along be plane to form an infinite two-dimensional network.

SYNTHESIS AND CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF A PLATINUM (Ⅱ) COMPLEX WITH MIXED DIPHOSPHINE AND THIOLATE LIG-ANDS, Pt(dppm)(SPh)_2

<正> The reaction of H2PtC14, Ph2PCH2PPh2(dppm) , NaSPh, and element selenium in DMF gives rise to a mononuclear complex Pt (dppm ) (SPh)2, PtS2P2C37H32, Mr = 797. 83, triclinic, space group P1, a = 10. 051(2), b = 11. 805 (3), c=15. 499(4)(?). α=109.41(3), β=90. 94(3), γ=107. 80°, V = 1636.3 (?)3. Z = 2, Dc= 1. 619gcm-3, * = 45. 749cm-1, and F(000) = 788. The final structural refinement converged with unweighted and weighted R factors of 0. 029 and 0. 044, respectively, for 4832 observed unique reflections with I>3σ(I). The complex is an asymmetric molecule with a four-coordinated Pt atom. The average of Pt -S and Pt-P bond distances are 2. 334(3) and 2. 260(3) (?), respectively.     

A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON CLAY MINERALS AND REE AND Li IN CLAY ORES (ROCKS)IN HENAN PROVINCE

A detailed study on the clay minerals from the working area was carried out through multiple methods,including X-ray diffraction, infrared absorption, DTA and TG, TEM and SEM, Mossbauer spectrometry,electron paramagnetic resonance and wet chemical analysis. Cookeite was discovered in the area for thefirst time. The determination of REE, Li, Nb, Ta and Sc in various ores and rocks as well as in variousclay minerals and their associations, and the cation exchange experiments (soaking experiments) carried outin various electrolyte solutions and designed for judging whether Li is in adsorption state indicate (i)clay minerals contain highest REE, and (ii) Li exists mainly in its own mineral-cookeite.     

MELT BLENDS OF POLY (BUTYLEN TEREPHTHALATE) AND A THERMOTROPIC LIQUID CRYSTALLINE POLYMER

With the help of differential scanning calorimetry, cone-plate and capillary rheometry andscanning electron microscopy, a research has been conducted on rheological behavior,crystallization and morphology of poly (butylene terephthalate) (PBT) blends containing athermotropic LCP. The blend has zero entrance pressure loss, although the LCP has rather largeone. The viscosity curve of the blend lies between those of the LCP and PBT. The crystallizationof PBT is not affected by the presence of the LCP together with no indication oftransesterification between the two ingredients. LCP spheres and ellipsoids with the size of 0. 5--1. 5 μm disperse in PBT matrix uniformly, which is related to the viscosity ratio of the twocomponents.     

EQUAL INSOLATION-DURATION (EID) AND EQUAL-SUNSHINE AZIMUTH (ESA)

It is discovered that at a given latitude when a tilted flat surface at a fixed inclination varies with azimuth, a couple of particular orientations can be found at which the daily possible sunshine duration on the surface is unvarying all the year round, keeping at a constant value. The author defines this constant value as the Equal Insolation-Duration (EID), and defines the particular azimuth at which EID appears as the Equal-Sunshine Azimuth (ESA).The existentiar domains of EID and ESA are determined and the variation rules of EID and ESA with latitude and inclined angle are studied in this paper.     

A STUDY ON THE BEHAVIOUR AND MECHANISM OF EXTRACTING GOLD(Ⅲ)USING PTSO

PTSO is abbreviated from di-P-tolyl Eolphoxide having a>S=0 group and is a neutral extractant.We have studied the behaviour and conditions of the separation of Au(Ⅲ) from other elements on a column packed with the silica gel loaded with PTSO and have found that PTSO is a new stationary phase with extremely high selectivity for the separation and concentration of gold.However,the application of PTSO to the solvent extraction has not bean reported yet.We first studied the behaviour and mechanism using PTSO to extract gold by atomic-absorption spectrophotometry,ultra-violet spectrophotometry and infra-red spectrophotometry.The possible structure of the extractive formed from PTSO and Au(Ⅲ) is suggested.     

γ-PICOLINIUM CHLOROCHROMATE (γ-PCC): A NEW AND EFFICIENT REAGENT FOR THE OXIDATION OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY ALCOHOLS

The preparation of γ-picolinium chlorochromate as a new and efficient reagent for the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds in dichloromethane at ambient temperature is described.     

OLIGOMERIZATION AND POLYMERIZATION OF PERFLUOROALKENES AND PERFLUOROALKYNES CATALYZED BY π-BIS (ARENE) CHROMIUM (0) COMPLEXES

Oligomerization of perfluoropropylene catalyzed by π-bis-(arene)chromium(0) gave two dimers(ⅡA and ⅡB), two trimers(ⅢA and ⅢB) and two defluorotrimers(ⅣA and ⅣB). The last were found to arise from hydrogenation of ⅢB followed by dehydrofluorination. Hydrogen fluoride evolved was added to perfluoropropylene to give 2-hydroheptafluoropropane. By using labeling technique, hydrogen was found to arise from ligand presumably through π-σ rearrangement, A possible mechanism was proposed, π-Bis(benzene)chromium(0) was able to catalyze the polymerization of perfluorobut-2-yne to form its polymer, a white powder. The same catalyst could catalyze copolymerization of CF_3CCCF_3 and CF3CFCF_2 to give solid copolymer. Three perfluoro-2-alkynenitriles (CF_3CC-CN,C_2F_5CC-CN, n-C_3F_7CC-CN) were successfully synthesized by intramolecular Wittig reaction and one of them, i.e, C_2F_5C CCN was polymerized catalytically by π-bis(benzene)chromium(0) to give its polymer. a black powder.     

PREPARATION AND CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF A HETEROBINUC- LEAR COPPER (Ⅱ)-ZINC(Ⅱ) COMPLEX WITH μ-OXAMIDO LIGAND

The final refinement converged with R=0. 067 for 3173 observed independent reflections. The copper(Ⅱ) ion is in an almost planar tetragonal environment while the zinc(Ⅱ) ion is in a distorted octahedron. The Cu....Zn distance is 5. 265A.     

COMPLEXES OF 4,5-DIAZAFLUORENE AND 9,9′-BIS(4,5-DIAZAFLUORENYL) WITH NICKEL(II), COPPER(II) AND ZINC(II)

Abstract

Complexes having the compositions [LMCl₂], [L₂MCl₂], [L₂Cu][PF₆], [L′MCl₂] and [L′(MCl₂)₂] of 4,5-diazafluorene, L, and 9,9′-bis(4,5-diazafluorenyl), L′, have been prepared from MCl₂ (M = Ni, Cu, Zn) and characterised. Steric strain or the bite angle of the pro-ligand has no recognisable effect on its coordination chemistry with smaller 3d-metals.     

DISCOVERY AND DETERMINATION OF A DOMINANT MALE-STERILE GENE AND

This paper deals with the determination of one male-sterile plant found in Chinese wheatcultivar (T. aestuvum L.). It is the first time in the world that a spontaneous mutant is dis-eovered in wheat. This dominant male-sterile gene is assigned as Ta 1. This determinationfirmly confirms the existence of the genic male-sterility and provides once again the scien-tific evidence to solve the argument of this problem. On the other hand, a breeding programof using this gene, especially in recurrent selection, is herewith proposed.

PHOTOCYCLOADDITION BETWEEN 8-METHOXYPSORALEN (8-MOP) AND OLEFINES (Ⅲ)

The photocycloadditions between 8-methoxypsoralen(8-MOP) and olefines have been in-vestigated. It gives a series of head-to-tail cycloadducts. From the reaction rates and cal-culated values of polarizability of olefines it indicates that reaction rates are dependent onthe polarizability of olefines. The stereochemistry of these products has been studied. Inview of these results it shows that the electron-deficient C_3-position of the triplet state of 8-MOP attacks the olefines electro-philically at first, then the reactions proceed to form pro-ducts via diradical mechanism.
