SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COBALT (Ⅱ) COMPLEX CONTAINING A 14-MEMBERED HEXAAZA MACROCYCLIC LIGAND

A new Co(Ⅱ) complex of 14o-membored hexaaza macrocyclic ligand with two Cl~- in axial positions [Co(C_(18)H_(18)N_6)Cl_2]·2H_2O, has been synthesized by the template condensation of 2,6-diacetylpyridine with hydrazine in the presence of cobalt chloride. Elemental analysis, electronic spectra, electroconductance and magnetic susceptibility, etc. measurements indicate this complex to be a sixcoordinate distorted octahedron. The observed magnetic moments (4.16 BM) are lower than the expected value (5.2 BM). The deviation and correlation of The axial ligand field strength with Co(Ⅱ) spin state are discussed. The values of Dq, B, β and the band positions have been evaluated from the electronic spectral data by the ligand field method. It has been proved that the calculated values are in fairly good agreement with the experimental ones.     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A NOVEL DITOPIC LIGAND AND ITS HETEROMETALLO-BINUCLEAR COMPLEX

A ditopic ligand bpy-cyclam(L)and its heterometallo-binuclearcomplex Ru(bpy)_2(bpy-cyclam-Ni)(ClO_4)_43H_2O(3)designed for use in thecatalytic photoreduction of carbon dioxide have been newly synthesized andcharacterized.The protonation constants of L were also determined.     

PREPARATION AND CRYSTAL STRUCTURE OF A HETEROBINUC- LEAR COPPER (Ⅱ)-ZINC(Ⅱ) COMPLEX WITH μ-OXAMIDO LIGAND

<正> The complex [Cu(oxap)Zn(phen)2](ClO4)2·H2O·CH3CH2OCH2-CH3(Mr = 980. 61) (oxap = N,N'-bis(2-aminopropyl) oxamido C2O2 (NCH2CH(CH3) NH2)2, phen = 1, 10-phenanthroline) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with a=13. 076(4),b=23. 039(7) ,c= 14. 375(3) A,β=98. 11(2)°,V = 4287. 2A3, Z = 4,DX = 1. 541g/cm3,μ=12. 80cm-1 and F(000) = 2020. The final refinement converged with R=0. 067 for 3173 observed independent reflections. The copper(Ⅱ) ion is in an almost planar tetragonal environment while the zinc(Ⅱ) ion is in a distorted octahedron. The Cu....Zn distance is 5. 265A.     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF Co(Ⅱ) COMPLEX OF 14-MEMBERED HEXAAZA MACROCYCLIC LIGAND WITH AXIALLY COORDINATED BROMIDES

The macrocyclic ligand complex, [Co(C_(18)H_(18)N_6) Br_2]·1/2H_2O, has been synthesized by the template condensation of 2, 6-diacetylpyridine with hydrazine in the presence of cobalt (Ⅱ) dibromide and characterized by IR, ESR, electronic spectra and magnetic properties. Based on these data, the complex is proposed to be an approximate elongated octahedron with low spin state. The absorption bands of d-d transition are assigned, and the values of various ligand field parameters have been evaluated and are discussed in terms of their chemical utilities. ESR study on the complex has been carried out. The values of g(?)and g(?) have been determined. From ligand field parameter values and gvalues, μ_(eff)=2.06 BM has been obtained, which is consistent with the experimental value(2.04BM).     

STUDY ON BINUCLEAR COPPER(I)COMPLEXES III.SYNTHESIS,CHARACTERIZATION AND ELECTROCHEMISTRY OF DICHLORO-TRIS(4-VINYLPYRIDINE)-DICOPPER(I)COMPLEX

Recent years,many novel complexes have been prepared by usinghetero-bidentate ligands.However,complexes with such ligands as 4-vinylpyridinewhich has two different coordinating sites have not been reported,and only a fewcomplexes of Cu(I)have been published~(1-3).The title complex Cu_2(C_5H_4N·CH=CH_2)_3Clwas prepared and characterized by elemental analyses,ICP,IR,and electronicspectra.Its conductivity,oxidation potential and reduction potential weremeasured.     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF COMPLEXES OF TRANSITION METAL WITH PBDETA, A NEW POLYDENTATE LIGAND

The synthesis and characterization are reported for a series of bi- and trinuclear complexes of the first transition metal ions with PBDETA, the newly syn thesized polydentate ligand. The electron transition energy in binuclear compound is stronger than that in trinuclear. There is a weak antiferromagnetic exchange interaction in tricopper and trimanganese.     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SILAZANE OLIGOMER CONTAINING 1,1,3,3,5,5-HEXAMETHYLCYCLOTRISILAZANE

A new silazane oligomer containing cyclotrisilazane was synthesized by KH-catalyzed dehydro-coupling reactionsbetween diphenylsilane and 1,1,3,3,5,5-hexamethylcyclotrisilazane (D_3~N).     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF POLY(STYRENE-co-4-VINYLPYRIDINE) NEODYMIUM COMPLEX

Poly(styrene-co-4-vinylpyridine)-neodymium complexes(NdCl_3·PS4VPY)with variouscontents of the functional group and neodymium have been prepared and characterized.Theinfrared and X-ray photoelectron spectra indicate that uncoordinated 4-vinylpyridine(4VPY)unitsremain in the NdCl_3·PS4VPY complexes.The catalytic behaviour of NdCl_3·PS4VPY was described briefly.     

SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURE AND MAGNETISM OF μ-OXAMIDO BINUCLEAR COPPER(Ⅱ) COMPLEXES

Two new binuclear copper(Ⅱ) complexes, [Cu(oxpn)CuL](ClO_4)_2, have been synthesizedand characterized, where oxpn is N,N' bis(3-aminopropyl)oxamido and L is 1,10-phenan-throline (phen) or 5-nitro-1,10-phenanthroline (NO_2-phen). The crystal structure and vari-able-temperature magnetic susceptibility (4- 300 K) of the Complex (L=phen) have beendetermined. Crystal data: orthorhombic system, space group Pnma, with a = 10.433(1), b11.458(2), c = 21.999(2)A, z = 4. Every copper(Ⅱ) ion is in a square pyramidal environment.The two copper(Ⅱ) ions are linked by μ-oxamido bridge and the separation of them is 5.208A. The singlet-triplet energy gap J was found equal to -452.92cm~(-1), indicating that astrongantiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction operates between the copper(Ⅱ) ions.     

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF A NEW POLYSILOXANE CONTAINING N,N’-BIS(DIPHENYLSILYL)TETRAPHENYLCYCLODISILAZANE

A new kind of polysiloxane containing N,N'-bis(diphenylsilyl)tetraphenylcyclodisilazane was prepared by anionicnon-equilibrium polymerization with a "seed solution" as initiator. The monomer, N,N'-bis(hydroxydiphenylsilyl)-tetraphenyl-cyclodisilazane (BHPTPC), was synthesized via the hydrolysis of N,N'-bis(chlorodiphenylsilyl)tetraphenyl-cyclodisilazane (BCPTPC). A new method for the preparation of BCPTPC is also reported here with high yield and simplermanipulation. The synthesized polysiloxane containing N,N'-bis(diphenylsilyl)tetraphenylcyclodisilazane was characterized by ~1H-NMR, ~(29)Si-NMR, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and intrinsic viscosity.     

SELENOETHER COMPLEXES OF COPPER(II) ‐ SYNTHESIS,SPECTROSCOPY AND STRUCTURES

Abstract

The red-brown copper(II) diselenoether complexes, [Cu (L-L)₂][BF₄]₂ (L-L = MeSeCH₂CH₂SeMe, MeSeCH₂CH₂CH₂SeMe or PhSeCH₂CH₂SePh) have been prepared from copper(II) fluoroborate and the ligands in anhydrous dichloromethane. Some new dithioether analogues are also described. The reaction of MeSeCH₂CH₂SeMe and copper(II) fluoroborate in ethanol led to an unstable dark green substance which appeared to contain both copper(I) and copper(II) and was formulated [Cu(MeSeCH₂CH₂SeMe)₂] [BF₄]_x. The complexes were characterised by analysis, UV-visible and e.p.r. spectroscopy, and magnetic measurements, and cyclic voltammetry has been used to probe the Cu (II)/Cu(I) redox couples. The complexes are too unstable in solution to obtain crystals for an X-ray study, but structural data has been obtained for both the Cu(II) and Cu(I) complexes by copper K-edge EXAFS studies. Ditelluroethers reduce copper(II) salts to copper(I) complexes.

SYNTHESIS AND MAGNETISM OF BINUCLEAR COPPER(Ⅱ) COMPLEXES CONTAINING SALUCYLAMIDATOCUPRATE(Ⅱ)

New binuclear copper(Ⅱ) complexes, [Cu(samen)Cu(NO_2-phen)]·H_2O and [Cu(sampn)-Cu(NO_2-phen)]·2H_2O have been synthesized, where samen~(4-), sampn~(4-) and NO_2-phen denote N, N′-ethylenedisalicylamidate anion, N, N′-1, 2-propanedisalicylamidate anion and 5-nitro-1, 10-phenanthroline respectively. 3ased on IR, elemental analyses and electronic spectra, the complexes are proposed to have a phenoxy-bridged structure and to consist of the Cu(Ⅱ)ion in distorted planar environment. The complexes have been characterized with varlable-temperature magnetic susceptibility (4—300 K) and the observed data were fit to those from a modified Bleaney-Bowers equation by least-squares method, giving the exchange integral J=-63.0 cm~(-1) (samen) and J=-46.5cm~(-1) (sampn). This indicates the existence of antiferromagnetic spin exchange interaction among the metal ions.     

SYNTHESIS AND STRUCTURE OF A NOVEL INFINITE-LAYER COPPER(Ⅱ)COMPLEX BRIDGED BY OXAMIDE AND PYRIMIDINE

The complex polymer[Cu_2(oxap)(pyr)_2]_n(ClO_4)_(2n),where oxap~(2-)stands for N,N'-bis(2—aminopropyl)oxamide,have been synthesized.It crystallizes in monoclinic system,space group P2_1/C,with a=8.721(2),b=8.679(2),c=16.741(2),β=98.59(0),Z=4.Theleast-square refinement coverged at R=0.054,R_w=0.055 with 1869 unique reflections.Thewhole structure of the complcx consists of layers of two-dimensional network arrayingalong a-axis with perchlorate ions interspersed in the gap between layers.Inside the layer.trans-oxamide-bridged copper(Ⅱ)dimers connected by pyrimidine in an asymmetric fashionspread out along be plane to form an infinite two-dimensional network.

SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF THERMOTROPIC COPOLYESTERS AND COPOLY (ESTER-AMIDE)S CONTAINING OXYETHYLENE-ETHER AS THE SPACER

Flexible oxyethylene-ether was introduced into the aromatic copolyesters and copoly(es-ter-amide)s to reduce the melting point of resulting polymers. The melting point was greatlyreduced to 200℃ or even lower in some cases, and the molecular weight was satisfactorilyhigh as reflected by inherent viscosity. The polymers exhibited high thermal stability and goodmechanical properties as determined by TGA and mechanical tests. The copolyester showedbetter crystallinity and liquid crystallinity than corresponding copoly(ester-amide)s with simi-lar monomer composition as reflected by POM observation and WAXD study. The meltingpoints for both copolyesters and copoly (ester-amide)s showed great dependence on the p-acetoxybenzoic acid (PAB) content in monomer composition and reached the lowest valuewhen PAB was 29 mol%.
