Mononuclear and coordination polymer compounds of 2,2′-dimethyl-4,4′-bithiazole (dm4bt) ligand have been prepared by metallation of dm4bt with Cd(NO3)2 · 4H2O and CdCl2 · H2O. The compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. The structural study of [Cd(dm4bt)2(NO3)2] · H2O (1) shows that the complex is a monomeric seven-coordinate (CdN4O3) cadmium(II)-bithiazole system with two bidentate dm4bt and mono and bidentate nitrates. The structure of [Cd(dm4bt)Cl2] n (2) is a distorted octahedral environment around the cadmium(II) (CdN2Cl4) forming a 1-D coordination polymer as a result of bridging by two chlorides and 2-D structure from π–π stacking interactions.  相似文献

Two copper(II) complexes, [Cu(bipy)(5-Br-2-hap)(ClO4)]2 (1) and [Cu(bipy)(2-hap)(ClO4)] (2) (where bipy?=?2,2′-bipyridine, 5-Br-2-hap?=?5-bromo-2-hydroxyacetophenone, 2-hap?=?2-hydroxyacetophenone), were synthesized and characterized. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction while 2 was reported earlier. Structural characterization reveals that the presence of bromine in 5-Br-2-hap plays a structure-determining role in dimeric 1 in comparison with the mononuclear 2 where 2-hap was used. Studies of the catalytic potential toward styrene epoxidation in homogeneous system using H2O2 as oxidant reveal that 1 is more efficient than 2 with respect to epoxide selectivity.  相似文献

Abstract

Twelve new complexes, of the general formula CuCl(TPP)2Tu1–12 (Tu?=?thiourea), were synthesized by the reaction of CuCl(TPP)3 (TPP?=?triphenylphosphine) and various N,N′-disubstituted thioureas. The structures of the synthesized complexes were characterized by different techniques such as Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy (1H, 13C, 31P, and 19F), and the representative complexes (1, 2 and 12) were analyzed via single crystal X-ray diffraction. The single crystal X-ray analysis revealed that copper(I) is coordinated with chlorine, two TPP, and the thiourea ligands through the sulfur atom in a mononuclear distorted tetrahedral mode. The compounds were tested for antibacterial, antifungal, cytotoxicity, antileishmanial, and antioxidant activities. The results showed that the synthesized complexes are significantly more active than the free ligands and the commercial reference compounds. The high biological activities of the complexes versus free ligands can be attributed to the copper(I) chloride complexation with thiourea ligands. The synthesized complexes were also evaluated, both experimentally and theoretically, for DNA binding studies. The UV-visible spectroscopic and molecular docking studies demonstrated that the complexes are conjugating with DNA through a groove binding mode.  相似文献

Summary AgI and CuII complexes with 2,4-bipyridyl (2,4-bipy or L) with the general formulae AgL2X (where X = NO inf3 sup– or ClO4 -), CuL2X2·2H2O (X = Cl- or Br-), CuL4SO4·4H2O, CuL4(NO3)2·2H2O and CuL4(ClO4)2·H2O have been isolated pure and characterized by analytical, spectral and magnetic measurements. The thermal decomposition of these complexes was studied under non-isothermal conditions in air.  相似文献

This paper presents synthesis, structural characterization and spintronic applications of copper (II) tetradecanoate derived magnetic complexes. The complexes were prepared by a chemical reaction between [Cu2(CH3(CH2)12COO)4](EtOH)2 and 2,2′-bipyridine-4,4′-bipyridine ligands respectively. The complexes were further reacted between the product of the first reaction and 4,4′-bipyridine-2,2′-bipyridine respectively. The structural characterization techniques included elemental analysis, Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultra-violet–Visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy, polarized optical microscopy, magnetic moment and thermogravimetric analysis. The structural and characterization results suggested that the synthesized complexes were binuclear and mononuclear covalent complexes of copper(II) with structural formulas [Cu22-(OOCR)4](4,4′-bpy)2H2O] and [Cu(η1-(OOCR)2(2,2′-bpy) (4,4′-bpy)] respectively.  相似文献

Two substituted 2,2′-bipyridine lead(II) complexes, [Pb(5,5′-dm-2,2′-bpy)(tfac)2] n (1) (5,5′-dm-2,2′-bpy?=?5,5′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine and tfac?=?trifluoroacetate) and [Pb2(4,4′-dmo-2,2′-bpy)2(ftfa)4] (2) (4,4′-dmo-2,2′-bpy?=?4,4′-dimethoxy-2,2′-bipyridine and ftfa?=?furoyltrifluoroacetonate), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR spectroscopies, thermal behavior, and X-ray crystallography. Complexes 1 and 2 are 1D coordination polymer and dinuclear complex, respectively. The supramolecular features in these complexes are guided by weak directional intermolecular interactions.  相似文献

The two water-soluble designed palladium(II) complexes, [Pd(bpy)(pip-Ac)]NO3 and [Pd(bpy)(mor-Ac)]NO3, (where bpy is 2,2′-bipyridine, pip-Ac is 1-piperidineacetato and mor-Ac is 4-morpholineacetato) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductivity measurements and spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, 1H NMR, UV–Vis). The complexes have been tested for in vitro cytotoxic activity against human breast cancer cell line, T47D. The binding of these complexes with DNA has been investigated by absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence titration spectra, EB displacement and gel chromatography. The results suggest that the complexes can bind to DNA cooperatively through a static mechanism at low concentrations (~0.57 μM). The thermodynamic parameters indicated that the van der Waals and hydrogen binding might play a major role in the interaction of these complexes with DNA.  相似文献

Four new platinum(II) complexes (14) with N-benzoyl-L-amino acid and bipy were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, 1H NMR, and mass spectra. The crystal structure of 1 was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Cytotoxicities were measured by MTT and SRB assays. Complexes 14 exert cytotoxicity with selectivity against HL-60, Bel-7402, BGC-823, and KB cell lines. This suggests that amino acids and acylated groups have important effects on cytotoxicity; the cytotoxicity is also related to the species of tumor cells, but the IC50 values do not show definite correlation with the variation of amino acids and acylated groups.  相似文献

The perchlorate salts of two new ruthenium(II) complexes incorporating 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole are synthesized in good yield. Complexes [Ru(phen)2(PYNI)]2+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) 1 and [Ru(dmp)2(PYNI)]2+ (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, PYNI = 2-(2′-pyridyl)naphthoimidazole) 2 are fully characterized by elemental analysis, FAB-MS, ES-MS, 1H NMR and cyclic voltammetric methods. The DNA-binding behavior of the complexes have been studied by spectroscopic titration, viscosity measurements and thermal denaturation. Absorption titration and thermal denaturation studies reveal that these complexes are moderately strong binders of calf-thymus DNA (CT-DNA), with their binding constants spanning the range (2.73–5.35) × 104 M?1. The experimental results show that 1 interacts with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) by intercalative mode, while 2 binds to CT-DNA by partial intercalation.  相似文献

The mechanism of substitution from tetrahedral [ZnCl2(en)] and square-pyramidal [ZnCl2(terpy)] complexes (where en = 1,2-diaminoethane or ethylenediamine and terpy = 2,2′:6′,2′′-terpyridine) by guanosine-5′-monophosphate (5′-GMP) have been investigated by 1H NMR spectroscopy. The substitution reaction of [ZnCl2(terpy)] complex is faster than the reaction of [ZnCl2(en)], which was finished after 48?h. Information about the structures of the final products in solution were obtained from the DFT calculations (B3LYP/6-31G(d)) and experimental 1H NMR data acquired during the course of the reaction. The cytotoxic activity of zinc(II) complexes was tested on human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231, human colon cancer cell line HCT-116 and normal human lung fibroblast cell line MRC-5. Both complexes reduced cell viabilities, while [ZnCl2(terpy)] was significantly cytotoxic on MDA-MB-231 after 72?h, and HCT-116 after 24?h without dose dependence. The differences in reactivity toward 5′-GMP and cytotoxic activity of Zn(II) complexes may be attributed to the very stable square-pyramidal geometry of [ZnCl2(terpy)] in solution, while weak ligand effect of the en compared to the terpy affected slow interaction of tetrahedral [ZnCl2(en)] complex with the target bio-molecule.  相似文献

A series of metal(II) unsymmetrical Schiff-base complexes, {M(C10H6OCH:N(CH2)2N?:?C(CH3)CH?:?C(CH3)O), where M=Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II)}, and their 2,2′-dipyridine (bipy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) adducts are synthesized and characterized by microanalysis, magnetic susceptibility, conductance, IR and UV-Vis spectra. The ligand coordinates using the N2O2 chromophore to give a two-metal-center four-coordinate square-planar geometry. IR and UV-Vis spectra are consistent with octahedral adducts. The compounds are non-electrolytes in nitromethane and magnetic moments indicate that the complexes are magnetically dilute. The antimicrobial activity of the compounds against ten bacteria and one fungus are reported. The Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes showed good activity against many of the organisms while their adducts are generally not sensitive. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of the sensitive compounds are between 3.0–13.0?mg?mL?1.  相似文献

The reaction of the CuCl2·2H2O with the N,S donor ligands bis(o-aminobenzenethio)ethane, bis(o-aminoben-zenethio)propane and bis(o-aminobenzenethio)butane (abbreviated as eN2S2, pN2S2 and bN2S2, respectively) yielded mononuclear CuII complexes of stoichiometry Cu(L)Cl2 (L=eN2S2, pN2S2 or bN2S2). When the reactions were performed in the presence of 2,6–diacetylpyridine and NaClO4, binuclear mixed valence CuI–CuII complexes of stoichiometry [Cu2(L)][ClO4]3 (L=eN6S4, pN6S4 or bN6S4) were formed. Metatheses between the binuclear complexes and the lithium salt of 7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) yielded complexes of stoichiometry Cu2(L)(TCNQ)2 (L=eN6S4, pN6S4 or bN6S4). All of the complexes were characterised by analytical and spectroscopic techniques.  相似文献

Two transition metal complexes, [Cu2(bpdc)2H2O]·2H2O (1) and Zn(bpdc)(H2O)2 (2) (H2bpdc?=?2,2′-bipyridine-6,6′-dicarboxylic acid), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complex 1 is dinuclear with two five-coordinate cupric ions and 2 is mononuclear with one six-coordinate zinc. Interactions of 1 and 2 with DNA have been investigated using UV–Vis absorption spectra. The cleavage reaction on DNA has been monitored by agarose gel electrophoresis.  相似文献

Eight pairs of cis–trans isomeric homoleptic platinum(II) complexes based on N-alkyl- or aryl-substituted 2,2′-biimidazole ligands were synthesized, and their photophysical properties were investigated. The cis and trans isomers readily interconvert at slightly elevated temperature, implying that the activation barrier for this process is low. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that the complexes have an ideal square-planar geometry. Their UV–Vis spectra showed lower energy absorption bands in the range of 345–378 nm, which are assigned to the typical MLCT mixed with LC transitions. In frozen glass solution at 77 K and also in the powder state, these complexes exhibit green emission ranging from 440 to 540 nm with photoluminescence quantum yields of 3.3–24.4%. The emitting excited state is dominated by 3ππ* character with some contributions from 3MLCT according to the excitation spectra.  相似文献

New binuclear complexes with [Cu(PPh3)3]+ and [Cu(PPh3)(N—N)]+ (N—N – 2,2-bipyridine, 1,10-phenanthroline) moieties connected via the isocyanide group to [Ru(bpy)2(py)]+ and [Ru(phen)2(py)]+ have been prepared and isolated as PF6 salts. In addition, new trinuclear complexes, [{(PPh3)3Cu(-NC)}2Ru(bpy)2](PF6)2 and [{(N—N)-(PPh3)Cu(-NC)}2Ru(bpy)2](PF6)2, have been synthesized using [Ru(bpy)2(CN)2]. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, i.r., n.m.r., u.v.–vis., FAB mass spectra and by conductivity measurements. The i.r. spectra reveal an increase in v;(CN) in the isocyano-bridged complexes compared to the mononuclear parent complexes. The complexes are luminescent with emission wavelengths in the 458–550 and 600–636 nm ranges. The half wave reduction potentials in MeCN are always more positive than those of the parent complexes. It is observed that the isocyano-bridged complexes are more powerful excited state reductants than the cyano-bridged, Cu(I)(-CN)Ru(II) complexes.  相似文献

Four new compounds composed of chiral complex cations and anions: Δ-[Fe(bpy)3] Λ-[Fe(bpy)3][V4O8((2R,3R)-tart)2]·12H2O (1), Δ-[Fe(bpy)3]2Λ-[Fe(bpy)3]2[V4O8((2R,3R)-tart)2][V4O8((2S,3S)-tart)2]·24H2O (2), Δ-[Ni(bpy)3]Λ-[Ni(bpy)3][V4O8((2R,3R)-tart)2]·12H2O (3) and Δ-[Ni(bpy)3]2Λ-[Ni(bpy)3]2[V4O8((2R,3R)-tart)2][V4O8((2S,3S)-tart)2]·24H2O (4) have been prepared. The compounds have been characterized by spectral methods, and their thermal decomposition was studied by simultaneous DTA, TG measurements. The final products after dynamic decomposition and additional heating were Fe2V4O13 for 1 and 2 and Ni(VO3)2 for 3 and 4. The crystal structures determined for 1, 2 and 4 have evidenced that 1 is “hemiracemic” and 2 and 4 are “fully racemic” compounds.  相似文献

Two new Ruthenium (II) polypyridyl complexes [Ru(dmp)2(ipbp)](ClO4)2 (1) (dmp = 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, ipbp = 3-(1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolin-2-yl)-4H-1-banzopyran-2-one) and [Ru(dmb)2(ipbp)](ClO4)2 (2) (dmb = 4,4′-dimethyl-2,2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, FAB-MS, ES-MS and 1H NMR and cyclic voltammetric methods. The DNA-binding behaviors of these complexes were investigated by spectroscopic titration, viscosity measurements, and thermal denaturation. Absorption titration and thermal denaturation studies reveal that these complexes are moderately strong binders of calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA). Viscosity measurements show that the complexes 1 and 2 interact with CT-DNA by intercalative mode. The DNA-binding affinity of the complex 2 is larger than that of complex 1.  相似文献

The effect of the metal center of [ML] complexes [M = Ni(II), Cu(II); L = N,N′-ethylenebis(acetylacetoniminato)] on their electrochemistry and electrocatalytic activity for the reduction of CO2 and protons has been studied using cyclic voltammetry and bulk electrolysis. The two complexes exhibit different electrochemistries, which are not significantly dependent on the nature of the solvent. The electrocatalytic activity of [NiL] is significantly higher than that of [CuL] for CO2 reduction, due to the higher stability of the electrochemically generated [Ni(I)L] complex, relative to the Cu(I) analog. The diffusion coefficient of [NiL] calculated from the steady-state diffusion limiting current is 3.0 × 10?6 cm2 s?1. The catalytic efficiency of [NiL] in non-aqueous solvents in terms of i p(CO2)/i p(N2) per nickel center is smaller than that of [Ni(cyclam)]2+, but greater than those of sterically hindered mononuclear [Ni(1,3,6,8,10, 13,15-heptaazatricyclo(11.3.1.1) octadecane)]2+ or multinuclear [Ni3 (X)]6+ where X = 8,8′,8″-{2,2′,2″(-nitrilotriethyl)-tris(1,3,6,8,10,13,15-heptaazatricyclo(11.3.1.1) octadecane}. Both [NiL] and [CuL] are also electrocatalysts for the reduction of carboxylic acid protons, with the catalytic pathway being different for acetic and trifluoroacetic acids in MeCN.  相似文献

Three new coordination polymers, [Cu(μ3-tdp)(im)2]n (1), {[Cu(μ3-tdp)(1-mim)2]·0.5H2O}n (2) and {[Cu23-tdp)2(4-mim)4]·H2O}n (3) [tdpH2 = 3,3′-thiodipropionic acid, im = imidazole, 1-mim = 1-methylimidazole and 4-mim = 4-methylimidazole], have been prepared and characterized by spectroscopic techniques (IR and UV–Vis), elemental analyzes, magnetic measurements, thermal analyzes, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Complexes 1–3 crystallize in the monoclinic system with space groups of C2/c and P21/c, respectively. In 1–3, tdp is a bridging ligand to form 1-D chains, which are extended into a 2-D layer by hydrogen bonding and π···π interactions. The 3,3′-thiodipropionate exhibits an unexpected coordination mode in 1–3. Simulations were used to assess the potential of the complexes in H2 storage applications.  相似文献
