Keeping in view the chemotherapeutic of the sulfa-drugs, Schiff base namely 2-thiophene carboxaldehyde-sulfametrole (HL) and its tri-positive and di-positive metal complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, mass spectra, UV-vis and thermal analysis (TGA and DrTG). The low molar conductance values suggest the non-electrolytic nature of these complexes. IR spectra show that HL is coordinated to the metal ions in a tetradentate manner through hetero five-membered ring-S and azomethine-N, enolic sulfonamide-OH and thiadiazole-N, respectively. Zn(II), Cd(II) and UO2(II) complexes are found to be diamagnetic (as expected). The proposed general formulae of the prepared complexes are [M2X4(HL)(H2O)4] (where M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II), X=Cl, [Fe2Cl6(HL)(H2O)2], [(FeSO4)2(HL)(H2O)4] and [(UO2)2(HL) (NO3)4].H2O. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes loss water of hydration in first step in case of uranium complexes followed loss coordinated water followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as DeltaE*, DeltaH*, DeltaS*, and DeltaG* are calculated from the DrTG curves using Coats-Redfern method. The antimicrobial activity of the obtained products was performed using Chloramphenicol and Grisofluvine as standards, indicate that in some cases metallation increase activity than the ligand.  相似文献

Silver(I) pyridinecarboxylates (AgPIC (1), AgNIC (2), [Ag(HDIPIC)]·0.75H2O (3), PIC?=?picolinate, NIC?=?nicotinate, HDIPIC?=?dipicolinate) were prepared by solvothermal syntheses and their characterization were completed by elemental, spectral, and thermal analyses. To assign the pyridinecarboxylate coordination mode in the complexes, detailed mid-infrared spectral data and Δ(νas???νs) comparisons were accomplished. In addition, silver(I) pyridinecarboxylate antimicrobial activities and stability by 1H NMR spectra were determined. Moreover, the spectral, thermal, and antimicrobial properties of silver(I) and previously prepared zinc(II) pyridinecarboxylates were compared and discussed.  相似文献

Complexes resulted from the interaction of [Ph3P]3RuCl2 with 2-aminoethylpyridine (aepy), 2-hydrazinopyridine (hzpy) and dipicolylamine (dpa) with KPF6 have been isolated from ethanol. The structures of the complexes were investigated using elemental analyses, IR, magnetic moment, UV-Vis and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The complexes have been isolated as [Ru(hzpy)3](PF6)2, [Ru(hzpy)2(aepy)](PF6)2, [Ru(hzpy)(aepy)2](PF6)2, [Ru(dpa)2](PF6)2 in an octahedral geometry. The thermal decomposition of complexes was discussed in terms of their structures and the thermodynamic parameters were evaluated. The metal complexes were screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, as well as fungus (Candida). The activity data show the metal complexes have potent antibacterials against one ore more bacterial species.  相似文献

Three complexes were obtained during reactions of 6-amino-1-methyl-5-nitrosouracil, 6-methylamino-1-methyl-5-nitrosouracil and 6-methylamino-1-benzyl-5-nitrosouracil with K2PtCl4. The complexes were isolated in good yields as powdery precipitates and characterized through elemental analysis, infrared and 1H NMR spectroscopies, and thermal analysis. The pyrimidine bases easily substitute chloro ligands as a neutral monodentate ligand form. The exocyclic oxygen atoms are the probable binding sites rather than ring or exocyclic nitrogen atoms. trans Square planar structures were proposed in all cases.  相似文献

S-Alkyl (R = benzyl, methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl) derivatives of thiosalicylic acid and the corresponding palladium(II) complexes were prepared and their structures were proposed on the basis of infrared, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The cis geometrical configurations of the isolated complexes were proposed on the basis of an X-ray structural study of the bis(S-benzyl-thiosalicylate)-palladium(II), [Pd(S-bz-thiosal)2] complex.Antimicrobial activity of the tested compounds was evaluated by determining the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum microbicidal concentration (MMC) in relation to 26 species of microorganisms. The tested ligands, with a few exceptions, show low antimicrobial activity. The palladium(II) complexes, [Pd(S-R-thiosal)2], have statistically significant higher activity than the corresponding ligands. The complexes [Pd(S-et-thiosal)2] and [Pd(S-pro-thiosal)2] displayed the strongest activity amongst the all tested compounds. The palladium(II) complexes show selective and moderate antibacterial activity and significant antifungal activity. The most sensitive were Aspergillus fumigatus and Aspergillus flavus.  相似文献

N-Benzoylthiosemicarbazide, HL, was obtained by fusion of benzoylhydrazide and ammonium thiocyanate. Reactions of HL with cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), iron(III), cadmium(II), oxovanadium(IV), and dioxouranium(VI) in 1 : 1 molar ratio yield the corresponding complexes. The N-benzoylthiosemicarbazide may act as a neutral or monobasic bidentate ligand coordinated through NS or NO sites. The structures of the HL ligand and its complexes were identified by elemental analysis, infrared, electronic, mass, 1H-NMR, and ESR spectra as well as magnetic susceptibility and molar conductivity measurements. Different geometries were obtained for the metal complexes. The ligand and its metal complexes were investigated for antibacterial and antifungal properties. Two Gram-positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, two Gram-negative, bacteria, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Pseudomonas phaseolicola and two fungi, Fusarium oxysporum and Aspergillus fumigatus, were used in this study. The metal complexes were more effective than the free ligand.  相似文献

Metal complexes of Schiff base derived from condensation of o-vanilin (3-methoxysalicylaldehyde) and sulfametrole [N(1)-(4-methoxy-1,2,5-thiadiazole-3-yl)sulfanilamide] (H2L) are reported and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, mass spectra, UV-vis and thermal analysis (TGA). From the elemental analyses data, the complexes were proposed to have the general formulae [M2X3(HL)(H2O)5].yH2O (where M=Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II), X=Cl, y=0-3); [Fe2Cl5(HL)(H2O)3].2H2O; [(FeSO4)2(H2L)(H2O)4] and [(UO2)2(NO3)3(HL)(H2O)].2H2O. The molar conductance data reveal that all the metal chelates were non-electrolytes. The IR spectra show that, H2L is coordinated to the metal ions in a tetradentate manner with ON and NO donor sites of the azomethine-N, phenolic-OH, enolic sulphonamide-OH and thiadiazole-N. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structures of these complexes are octahedral. The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes losses water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, DeltaH*, DeltaS* and DeltaG* are calculated from the DrTG curves using Coats-Redfern method. The synthesized ligand, in comparison to their metal complexes also were screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Bacillus subtillus, Staphylococcus aureus and Fungi (Aspergillus terreus and Aspergillus flavus). The activity data show that the metal complexes to be more potent/antimicrobial than the parent Shciff base ligand against one or more microbial species.  相似文献

A Schiff base (L) is prepared by condensation of cuminaldehyde and L-histidine, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and mass spectra. Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes of this Schiff-base ligand are synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, mass, IR, electronic spectra, magnetic moment, electron spin resonance (ESR), CV, TG/DTA, powder XRD, and SEM. The conductance data indicate that all the complexes are 1 : 1 electrolytes. IR data reveal that the Schiff base is a tridentate monobasic donor, coordinating through azomethine nitrogen, imidazole nitrogen, and carboxylato oxygen. The electronic spectral data and magnetic measurements suggest that Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes are tetrahedral, while Cu(II) complex has distorted square planar geometry. XRD and SEM show that Co(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II) complexes have crystalline nature, while the Ni(II) complex is amorphous and the particles are in nanocrystalline phase. The in vitro biological activities of the synthesized compounds were tested against the bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Bacillus subtilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus; and fungal species, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, and Candida albicans by the disc diffusion method. The biological study indicates that complexes exhibit more activity than the ligand. The nuclease activity of the ligand and its complexes are assayed on CT DNA using gel electrophoresis in the presence and the absence of H2O2. The Cu(II) complex shows increased nuclease activity in the presence of an oxidant when compared to the ligand, Co(II) and Ni(II) complexes.  相似文献

A brief account of the synthesis, spectroscopic characterization and the antimicrobial (bacterial and fungal) behaviour of bis(diorganodithiocarbamato)organodithiocarbonatobismuth(III) complexes is presented. The reaction of bis(diorganodithiocarbamato)bismuth(III) chloride with potassium organodithiocarbonate in equimolar ratio yielded the corresponding mixed derivatives of the type [R′2NCS2]2BiS2COR [where, R′ = CH3 and C2H5; R = Et, Prn, Pri, Bun and Bui]. These have been characterized by molecular weight determinations, melting points (only solid complexes) and elemental (C, H, N, S and Bi) analysis as well as spectral IR and NMR [1H and 13C] studies. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the free ligands and their bismuth complexes were found in vitro by the disc diffusion method. The complexes showed good antibacterial and antifungal effect on some selected bacterial and fungal strains. The antimicrobial activities of two standard antibiotics (Chloroamphenicol and Terbinafin) were also measured and compared with these complexes. Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A three-component reaction of dimethyltin dibromide with imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine, pyridine derivatives, or isoquinoline and allyl bromide in refluxing ethanol affords the ionic complex, bis(1-allylcycloiminium) dimethyltetrabromostannate (II). The reaction involves N-allylation of cycloimine accompanied by the coordination of two bromide ions with the tin atom of dimethyltin dibromide. The complexes have been characterized by infrared and 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and 119Sn NMR studies. The X-ray crystal structure analysis of a complex reveals the tin atom to be hexacoordinated and the dimethyltetrabromostannate (II) anion having octahedral geometry. Some of the complexes tested for their insecticidal activity are found to exhibit strong activity against Tribolium castaneum insect with LC50 ranging from 0.4 to 0.8 ppm.  相似文献

Silver(I) and copper(II) complexes of 4-amino-N-(4,6-dimethyl-2-pyrimidinyl) benzenesulfonamide (smz) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and infrared (IR), 1H NMR, and UV–vis spectroscopy. [Ag(smz)(pyridine)] (1) crystallizes in monoclinic system with space group P21/c and Z = 4, while [Cu(smz)2(pyridine)2]·H2O (2) crystallizes in triclinic system with space group P-1 and Z = 2. X-ray analysis revealed that silver in 1 is four-coordinate exhibiting distorted tetrahedral geometry, while copper in 2 is coordinated to six nitrogens leading to a highly distorted octahedral geometry. The molecular structures of both 1 and 2 are stabilized by N–H?O and C–H?π intermolecular and C–H?O intramolecular interactions. Water plays a significant role in crystal packing by forming strong N–H?Owater intramolecular as well as Owater–H?N intermolecular interactions in 2. The results of IR, UV–vis, 1H NMR spectral data and thermal analysis for 1 and 2 suggest that the binding of silver and copper to the sulfonamidic nitrogen is in agreement with the crystal structure determination. Antimicrobial activities of silver (1) and copper (2) complexes of sulfamethazine are studied by the dilution method against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli strains.  相似文献

Metal complexes of Schiff base derived from 2-thiophene carboxaldehyde and 2-aminobenzoic acid (HL) are reported and characterized based on elemental analyses, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analysis (TGA). The ligand dissociation as well as the metal-ligand stability constants were calculated pH metrically at 25 degrees C and ionic strength mu=0.1 (1M NaCl). The complexes are found to have the formulae [M(HL)2](X)n.yH2O (where M=Fe(III) (X=Cl, n=3, y=3), Co(II) (X=Cl, n=2, y=1.5), Ni(II) (X=Cl, n=2, y=1) and UO2(II) (X=NO3, n=2, y=0)) and [M(L)2] (where M=Cu(II) (X=Cl) and Zn(II) (X=AcO)). The molar conductance data reveal that Fe(III) and Co(II), Ni(II) and UO2(II) chelates are ionic in nature and are of the type 3:1 and 2:1 electrolytes, respectively, while Cu(II) and Zn(II) complexes are non-electrolytes. IR spectra show that HL is coordinated to the metal ions in a terdentate manner with ONS donor sites of the carboxylate O, azomethine N and thiophene S. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structure of these complexes are octahedral. The synthesized ligands, in comparison to their metal complexes also were screened for their antibacterial activity against bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus pyogones and Fungi (Candida). 4-Ethylthiosemicarbazide and its NH(1) derivatives have been prepared and confirmed by elemental analysis and 1H?NMR spectra to produce diverse complexes with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) ions. The obtained complexes have been investigated based on elemental and thermal analyses, spectral (UV/VIS, ESR, mass) studies and magnetic measurements. The IR data reveal the presence of variable modes of chelation for the investigated ligands. The electronic spectra of the complexes as well as their magnetic moments provide information about geometries. The ESR spectra give evidence for the proposed structure and the bonding for some Cu(II) complexes. Thermal decomposition of some complexes ended with metal or metal oxide as a final product.  相似文献

Interaction of 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) with [Mo(CO)6] in air resulted in formation of the tricarbonyl oxo-complex [Mo(O)(CO)3(PAN)], 1. The dicarbonyl complex [Ru(CO)2(PAN)], 3, was obtained from the reaction of [Ru3(CO)12] with PAN. In presence of triphenyl phosphine (PPh3), the reaction of PAN with either Mo(CO)6 or Ru3(CO)12 gave [Mo(CO)3(PAN)(PPh3)], 2, and [Ru(CO)2(PAN)(PPh3)], 4. All the complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, IR, and NMR spectroscopy. The thermal properties of the complexes were also investigated by thermogravimetry.  相似文献

The Schiff base ligand, N,N′-bis-(4-isopropylbenzaldimine)-1,2-diaminoethane (L), obtained by the condensation of 4-isopropylbenzaldehyde and 1,2-diaminoethane, has been used to synthesize the complexes of the type [ML2X2] [M = Co(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II); X = Cl and OAc]. The newly synthesized ligand (L) and its complexes have been characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, mass, 1H and 13C-NMR, molar conductance, IR, UV–vis, magnetic moment, CV and thermal analyses, powder XRD and SEM. IR spectral data show that the ligand is coordinated to the metal ions in a bidentate manner. The geometrical structures of these complexes are found to be octahedral. Interestingly, reaction with Cu(II) ion with this ligand undergoes hydrolytic cleavage to form ethylenediamine copper(II) complex and the corresponding aldehyde. The antimicrobial results indicate that the chloro complexes exhibit more activity than the acetato complexes. The complexes bind to CT–DNA by intercalation modes. Novel chloroform soluble ZnL2Cl2 complex exhibits tremendous antimicrobial, DNA binding and cleaving properties.  相似文献

Organotin complexes of Schiff bases (derived from the condensation of hydrazides with salicylaldehyde derivatives) were prepared and their characterization was done using several spectroscopic techniques like FTIR, NMR (1H, 13C, and 119Sn) and mass spectrometry. The spectroscopic data of the ligands and their corresponding complexes revealed that the Schiff bases chelated to the tin metal in a tridentate manner through –ONO atoms (oxygen atom of the hydroxyl group of the salicylaldehydic derivatives, the nitrogen atom of azomethine group, and the oxygen atom of enolic group present in the carboxylic acid hydrazides). Around tin atom pentacoordinated geometry was exhibited. The synthesized ligands and their complexes have been assessed for their biological potency (antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant using Ciprofloxacin, Fluconazole and Ascorbic acid as reference compounds) and few of the compounds showed optimistic activity. The ligands having electron withdrawing group attached showed greater antimicrobial activity as compared to the other ligands. The complexes showed the better activity than the ligands. The general trend followed by the complexes was diphenyl ?> ?dibutyl ?> ?dimethyl substituted complexes. Compound 11 was the most active against microbes. The antioxidant activity increased with electron donating group. The phenyl substituted complexes showed better activity as compared to the dibutyl and dimethyl substituted complexes. Compound 20 was the best antioxidant.  相似文献

The monomer 3‐allyl‐5‐(phenylazo)‐2‐thioxothiazolidine‐4‐one (HL) was prepared by the reaction of allyl rhodanine with aniline through diazo‐coupling reaction. Reaction of HL with Ni(II) or Co(II) salts gave polymer complexes ( 1 – 8 ) with general stoichiometries [M(HL)(Cl)2(OH2)2]n, [M(HL)(O2SO2)(OH2)2]n, [M(L)(O2NO)(H2O)2]n and [M(L)(O2CCH3)(H2O)2]n (where M = Ni(II) or Co(II)). The structures of the polymer complexes were identified using elemental analysis, infrared and electronic spectra, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, X‐ray diffraction and thermogravimetric analysis. The interaction between the polymer complexes and calf thymus DNA showed a hypochromism effect. HL and its polymer complexes were tested against bacterial and fungal species. Co(II) polymer complex 2 is the most effective against Klebsiella pneumoniae and is more active than penicillin. The results showed that Ni(II) polymer complex 5 is a good antibacterial agent against Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Molecular docking was used to predict the binding between the monomer with the receptors of prostate cancer (PDB code: 2Q7L Hormone) and breast cancer (PDB code: 1JNX Gene regulation). Coats–Redfern and Horowitz–Metzger methods were applied for calculating the thermodynamic parameters of HL and its polymer complexes. The thermal activation energy of decomposition for HL is higher than that for the polymer complexes.  相似文献

Six Pd(II) and Au(III) complexes of 4-glycopyranosylamino-5-nitroso-6-oxo-pyrimidine derivatives were prepared. On the basis of their1H-NMR and IR spectra, it has been found that the coordination sites are the 5-nitroso and the 6-oxo substituents. Likewise, the thermal behaviour of the complexes has also been studied.

The 2-methylimidazole complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) orotates, mer-[Co(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (1), mer-[Ni(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)2] (2), [Cu(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (3) and [Zn(HOr)(H2O)2(2-meim)] (4), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral (UV–Vis and FT-IR) methods, thermal analysis (TG, DTG and DTA), magnetic susceptibility, antimicrobial activity studies and single crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The complexes 1 and 2 have distorted octahedral geometries with two monodentate 2-methylimidazole and one bidentate orotate and two aqua ligands. The complexes 3 and 4 have distorted square pyramidal and trigonal bipyramidal geometry, respectively, with one 2-methylimidazole, bidentate orotate and aqua ligands. The orotate coordinated to the metal(II) ions through deprotonated nitrogen atom of pyrimidine ring and oxygen atom of carboxylate group as a bidentate ligand. The antimicrobial activities of 1 and 4 were found to be more active gram (+) than gram (−) and 4 could be use for treatment Staphylococcus aureus.  相似文献
