We make the hypothesis that the velocity of light and the expansion of the universe are two aspects of one single concept connecting space and time in the expanding universe. We show that solving Friedman’s equations with that interpretation (keeping c = constant) could explain number of unnatural features of the standard cosmology. We thus examine in that light the flatness problem, the problem of the observed uniformity in term of temperature and density of the cosmological background radiation and the small-scale inhomogeneity problem. We finally show that using this interpretation of c leads to reconsider the Hubble diagram of distance moduli and redshifts as obtained from recent observations of type Ia supernovae without having to need an accelerating universe.  相似文献

In a recent paper (Vigoureux et al. in Int. J. Theor. Phys. 47:928, 2007) it has been suggested that the velocity of light and the expansion of the universe are two aspects of one single concept connecting space and time in the expanding universe. It has then be shown that solving Friedmann’s equations with that interpretation (and keeping c=constant) can explain number of unnatural features of the standard cosmology (for example: the flatness problem, the problem of the observed uniformity in term of temperature and density of the cosmological background radiation, the small-scale inhomogeneity problem…) and leads to reconsider the Hubble diagram of distance moduli and redshifts as obtained from recent observations of type Ia supernovae without having to need an accelerating universe. In the present work we examine the problem of the cosmological constant. We show that our model can exactly generate Λ (equation of state P φ =−ρ φ c 2 with Λ R −2) contrarily to the standard model which cannot generate it exactly. We also show how it can solve the so-called cosmic coincidence problem.  相似文献

In order to study the origin of the fundamental constants and Dirac's large number, a cosmological solution in vacuum is presented in a seven-dimensional universe which is defined by adding extra three coordinates (e 2 G/c 4)1/2, (hG/c 3)1/2 and (Gm/c 2) to the four-dimensional spacetime coordinates. It has common features with Chodos-Detweiler's solution. The parameters appearing in this theory are estimated to meet the conditions required by the cosmological first-order phase transition and Dirac's large number hypothesis.  相似文献

Equivalence of the two famous Einstein equivalences is, U denoting the cosmological potential, expressed à la Mach as U=c 2. The electrostatic analog is induction of an extra mass –c –2eV (esu) in an electron immersed in the constant Coulomb potential c=Q/R enclosed in a charged sphere. This effect has been evidenced in a recent experiment by Mikhailov.  相似文献

We make the cosmological constant, Λ, into a field and restrict the variations of the action with respect to it by causality. This creates an additional Einstein constraint equation. It restricts the solutions of the standard Einstein equations and is the requirement that the cosmological wave function possess a classical limit. When applied to the Friedmann metric it requires that the cosmological constant measured today, t U , be L ~ tU-2 ~ 10-122{\Lambda \sim t_{U}^{-2} \sim 10^{-122}} , as observed. This is the classical value of Λ that dominates the wave function of the universe. Our new field equation determines Λ in terms of other astronomically measurable quantities. Specifically, it predicts that the spatial curvature parameter of the universe is Wk0 o -k/a02H2=-0.0055{\Omega _{\mathrm{k0}} \equiv -k/a_{0}^{2}H^{2}=-0.0055} , which will be tested by Planck Satellite data. Our theory also creates a new picture of self-consistent quantum cosmological history.  相似文献

The Wheeler-DeWitt equation is applied to closedk>0 Friedmann-Robertson-Walker metric with various combination of cosmological constant and matter (e.g., radiation or pressureless gas). It is shown that if the universe ends in the matter dominated era (e.g., radiation or pressureless gas) with zero cosmological constant, then the resulting Wheeler-DeWitt equation describes a bound state problem. As solutions of a nondegenerate bound state system, the eigen-wave functions are real (Hartle-Hawking). Furthermore, as a bound state problem, there exists a quantization condition that relates the curvature of the three space with the various energy densities of the universe. If we assume that our universe is closed, then the quantum number of our universe isN(Gk)–110122. The largeness of this quantum number is naturally explained by an early inflationary phase which resulted in a flat universe we observe today. It is also shown that if there is a cosmological constant >0 in our universe that persists for all time, then the resulting Wheeler-DeWitt equation describes a non-bound state system, regardless of the magnitude of the cosmological constant. As a consequence, the wave functions are in general complex (Vilenkin).  相似文献

A simple vacuum cosmological solution that is a function ofct, Gm/c 2 andeG 1/2/C2 is obtained in the 6D space-time-mass-charge universe which is proposed by Wesson [1] with the introduction of the sixth coordinate of charge in order to obtain a unified theory of gravity and electromagnetism along the line of his original 5D space-time-mass universe [2]. It reduces to a similar solution to that of the radiation era in the 4D FRW universe through the compactifications of the extra dimensions. The trajectory of a test particle in the 6D universe is also studied by using the solution.  相似文献

The cosmological constant problem is studied in a two component cosmological model. The universe contains a cosmological constant of an arbitrary size and sign and an additional component with an inhomogeneous equation of state. It is shown that, in a proper parameter regime, the expansion of the universe with a large absolute value of the cosmological constant may asymptotically tend to de Sitter space corresponding to a small effective positive cosmological constant. It is argued that such a behavior can be regarded as a solution of the cosmological constant problem in this model. The mechanism behind the relaxation of the cosmological constant is discussed. A connection with modified gravity theories is discussed and an example of a possible realization of the cosmological constant relaxation in f(R) modified gravity is described.  相似文献

I present a short overview of current observational results and theoretical models for a cosmological constant. The main motivation for invoking a small cosmological constant (or A-term) at the present epoch has to do with observations of high redshift Type Ia supernovae which suggest an accelerating universe. A flat accelerating universe is strongly favoured by combining supernovae observations with observations of CMB anisotropies on degree scales which give the ‘best-fit’ values ΘA ⋍ 0.7 and Θ m ⋍ 0.3. A time dependent cosmological A-term can be generated by scalar field models with exponential and power law potentials. Some of these models can alleviate the ‘fine tuning’ problem which faces the cosmological constant.  相似文献

In the Kaluza-Klein model with a cosmological constant Λ and a flux, the external spacetime of the created universe from aS s × S ns seed instanton can be identified in quantum cosmology. One can also show that in the internal space theeffective cosmological constant is most probably zero.  相似文献

Neutrino mixing lead to a non zero contribution to the dark energy of the universe. We assume that the neutrino masses and mixing arise through physics at a scale intermediate between Planck Scale and the electroweak scale. The mechanism of neutrino mixing is a possible candidate to contribute the cosmological dark energy. Quantum gravitational (Planck scale) effects lead to an effective SU(2) L ×U(1) invariant dimension-5 Lagrangian involving neutrino and Higgs fields, which gives rise to additional terms in neutrino mass matrix. There additional term can be considered to be perturbation of the GUT scale bi-maximal neutrino mass matrix. We assume that the gravitational interaction is flavor. In this paper, we discuss the three flavor neutrino mixing and cosmological dark energy contributes due to Planck scale effects.  相似文献

The field equations with variable cosmological and gravitational constants are consider in the presence of perfect fluid for Kaluza-Klein type cosmological model. The exact solutions of the field equations are obtained by using the gamma law equation of state p=(γ−1)ρ in which the parameter γ depends on scale factor R. The functional form of γ(R) is used to analyze a wide range of cosmological solution at early universe for two phases in cosmic history: inflationary phase and radiation dominated phase. The corresponding physical interpretation of cosmological solution are also discussed in the framework of higher dimensional space time.  相似文献

Following the idea that the global and local arrow of time has a cosmological origin, we define an entropy in the classical and in the quantum periods of the universe evolution. For the quantum period a semi-classical approach is adopted, modelling the universe with Wheeler-De Witt equation and using WKB. By applying the self-induced decoherence to the state of the universe it is proved that the quantum universe becomes a classical one. This allows us to define a conditional entropy which, in our simplified model, is proportional to e 2γ t where γ is the dumping factor associated with the interaction potential of the scalar fields. Finally we find both Gibbs and thermodynamical entropy of the universe based in the conditional entropy.  相似文献

Bianchi type-III cosmological model of universe filled with dark energy from a wet dark fluid (WDF) in presence and absence of magnetic field is investigated in general theory of relativity. We assume that F 12 is the only non-vanishing component of F ij . We obtain exact solutions to the field equations using the condition that expansion is proportional to the shear scalar i.e. (B=C n ). The physical behavior of the model is discussed with and without magnetic field. We conclude that universe model do not approach isotropy through the evolution of the universe.  相似文献

The coupledDirac-Einstein equations for a homogeneous isotropic space-time forbid aclosed universe but lead to the standard cosmological model for aflat universe. Therefore only theopen universe is left as a nontrivial situation. There some of the desired cosmological effects emerge in a natural way:inflation, creation ex nihilo, etc.  相似文献

We investigate de Sitter solutions in non-local gravity as well as in non-local gravity with Lagrange constraint multiplier. We examine a condition to avoid a ghost and discuss a screening scenario for a cosmological constant in de Sitter solutions. Furthermore, we explicitly demonstrate that three types of the finite-time future singularities can occur in non-local gravity and explore their properties. In addition, we evaluate the effective equation of state for the universe and show that the late-time accelerating universe may be effectively the quintessence, cosmological constant or phantom-like phases. In particular, it is found that there is a case in which a crossing of the phantom divide from the non-phantom (quintessence) phase to the phantom one can be realized when a finite-time future singularity occurs. Moreover, it is demonstrated that the addition of an R 2 term can cure the finite-time future singularities in non-local gravity. It is also suggested that in the framework of non-local gravity, adding an R 2 term leads to possible unification of the early-time inflation with the late-time cosmic acceleration.  相似文献

The present study deals with a spatially homogeneous and anisotropic Bianchi type-I (B-I) cosmological models representing massive strings in normal gauge for Lyra’s manifold by applying the variation law for generalized Hubble’s parameter that yields a constant value of deceleration parameter. The variation law for Hubble’s parameter generates two types of solutions for the average scale factor, one is of power-law type and other is of the exponential-law type. Using these two forms, Einstein’s modified field equations are solved separately that correspond to expanding singular and non-singular models of the universe respectively. The energy-momentum tensor for such string as formulated by Letelier, P.S.: Phys. Rev. D 28, 2414 (1983) is used to construct massive string cosmological models for which we assume that the expansion (θ) in the model is proportional to the component s1 1\sigma^{1}_{~1} of the shear tensor sj i\sigma^{j}_{~i}. This condition leads to A=(BC) m , where A, B and C are the metric coefficients and m is proportionality constant. Our models are in accelerating phase which is consistent to the recent observations. It has been found that the displacement vector β behaves like cosmological term Λ in the normal gauge treatment and the solutions are consistent with recent observations of SNe Ia. It has been found that massive strings dominate in the both decelerating and accelerating universes. The strings dominate in the early universe and eventually disappear from the universe for sufficiently large times. This is in consistent with the current observations. Some physical and geometric behaviour of these models are also discussed.  相似文献

The extremely large value of the cosmological constant that is characteristic of particle physics and the inflation of the early universe are inherently interconnected. One can construct a superpotential that, after consideration for the leading effects due to supergravity, produces a flat potential of inflaton with a constant density of energy V = Λ4. The introduction of relatively small quantum loop corrections to the parameters of this superpotential naturally leads to a dynamical instability taking the form of an inflationary regime of relaxation of the cosmological constant. This pattern is phenomenologically consistent with observational data at Λ ∼ 1016 GeV.  相似文献
