In this note, we propose a definition of local moduli space in a general framework including the case of CR structures on a fixed differentiable manifold. We show that it is the same as the notion of versal deformation space for complex structures. Finally, we test this definition on the spaces constructed in [5] and [6].     

Plans dʼexpérience pour lʼestimation de la courbe de concentration et de lʼAUC

The problem of interest is to estimate the concentration curve and the area under the curve (AUC) by estimating the parameters of a linear regression model with autocorrelated error process. We introduce a simple linear nonparametric unbiased estimator of the concentration curve and the AUC. We show that this estimator constructed from an appropriate regular sampling design is asymptotically optimal.     

Calcul de lʼespérance de la solution dʼune EDP stochastique unidimensionnelle à lʼaide dʼune base réduite

In this Note, we present an efficient method to approximate the expectation of the response of a one-dimensional elliptic problem with stochastic inputs. In conventional methods, the computational effort and cost of the approximation of the response can be dramatic. Our method presented here is based on the Karhunen–Loève (K-L) expansion of the inverse of the diffusion parameter, allowing us to build a base of random variables in reduced numbers, from which we construct a projected solution. We show that the expectation of this projected solution is a good approximation, and give an a priori error estimate. A numerical example is presented to show the efficiency of this approach.     

Comportement asymptotique de lʼestimateur non paramétrique de la fonction de renouvellement associée à des variables aléatoires positives stationnaires β-mélangeantes

To estimate the renewal function, for stationary β  -mixing positive random variables, we consider a finite sum of empirical distribution functions. We study its asymptotics properties: asymptotic normality, almost surely convergence, and weak convergence. This last result will be established on the space of functions defined on [0,1]$[0,1]$ that are right-continuous and have left-hand limits provided with the Skorokhod topology.     

Perverse equivalences and Brouéʼs conjecture

We give a new approach to the construction of derived equivalences between blocks of finite groups, based on perverse equivalences, in the setting of Broué?s abelian defect group conjecture. We provide in particular local and global perversity data describing the principal blocks and the derived equivalences for a number of finite simple groups with Sylow subgroups elementary abelian of order 9. We also examine extensions to automorphism groups in a general setting.     

Construction dʼun champ continu de métriques

Adaptive computation using adaptive meshes is now recognized as essential for solving complex PDE problems. This computation requires, at each step, the definition of a continuous metric field to govern the generation of the adapted meshes. In practice, via an appropriate a posteriori error estimation, metrics are calculated at the vertices of the computational domain mesh. In order to obtain a continuous metric field, the discrete field is interpolated in the whole domain mesh. In this Note, a new method for interpolating discrete metric fields, based on a so-called “natural decomposition” of metrics, is introduced. The proposed method is based on known matrix decompositions and is computationally robust and efficient. Some qualitative comparisons with classical methods are made to show the relevance of this methodology.     

Lʼindice des champs de vecteurs sur les courbes de Cohen–Macaulay

In this paper a new method for computing the topological index of a vector field at Cohen–Macaulay curves is described. It is based on properties of regular meromorphic differential forms which are used for computing the homological index of vectors fields introduced by X. Gómez-Mont. In particular, we show how to compute the index at quasihomogeneous Gorenstein curves and complete intersections, at monomial curves, at Cohen–Macaulay space curves, and others. In contrast to previous articles on this subject we do not use the technique of spectral sequences, or computer algebra systems for symbolic calculations.     

Nakajimaʼs remark on Hennʼs proof

We fill up a gap in Hennʼs proof concerning large automorphism groups of function fields of degree 1 over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic.

We study a functorial construction from the category of monoids to the category of set-operads and we give some combinatorial examples of applications.     

On Kaufmanʼs theorem

Kaufman?s theorem (Kaufman, 1978 [9]) on representing closed linear operators as quotients of bounded operators is given a new constructive proof, and is extended to operators between two Hilbert spaces. Two different definitions of operator quotients existing in the literature are compared.
