This paper considers the optimal control problem of the insurance company with proportional reinsurance policy under solvency constraints. The management of the company controls the reinsurance rate and dividends payout processes to maximize the expected present value of the dividend until the time of bankruptcy. This is a mixed singular-regular control problem. However, the optimal dividend payout barrier may be too low to be acceptable. The company may be prohibited to pay dividend according to external reasons because this low dividend payout barrier will result in bankruptcy soon. Therefore, some constraints on the insurance company’s dividend policy will be imposed. One reasonable and normal constraint is that if b is the minimum dividend barrier, then the bankrupt probability should not be larger than some predetermined ε within the time horizon T. This paper is to work out the optimal control policy of the insurance company under the solvency constraints.  相似文献

We consider a stochastic model for the wealth of an insurance company which has the possibility to invest into a risky and a riskless asset under a constant mix strategy. The total claim amount is modeled by a compound Poisson process and the price of the risky asset follows a general exponential Lévy process. We investigate the resulting reserve process and the corresponding discounted net loss process. This opens up a way to measure the risk of a negative outcome of the reserve process in a stationary way. We provide an approximation of the optimal investment strategy which maximizes the expected wealth of the insurance company under a risk constraint on the Value-at-Risk. We conclude with some examples.  相似文献

In the whole paper, the claim process is assumed to follow a Brownian motion with drift and the insurer is allowed to invest in a risk-free asset and a risky asset. In addition, the insurer can purchase the proportional reinsurance to reduce the risk. The paper concerns the optimal problem of maximizing the utility of terminal wealth. By solving the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations, the optimal strategies about how to purchase the proportional reinsurance and how to invest in the risk-free asset and risky asset are derived respectively.  相似文献

Consider an insurer who is allowed to make risk-free and risky investments. The price process of the investment portfolio is described as a geometric Lévy process. We study the tail probability of the stochastic present value of future aggregate claims. When the claim-size distribution is of Pareto type, we obtain a simple asymptotic formula which holds uniformly for all time horizons. The same asymptotic formula holds for the finite-time and infinite-time ruin probabilities. Restricting our attention to the so-called constant investment strategy, we show how the insurer adjusts his investment portfolio to maximize the expected terminal wealth subject to a constraint on the ruin probability.  相似文献

We consider the optimal financing and dividend control problem of the insurance company with fixed and proportional transaction costs. The management of the company controls the reinsurance rate, dividends payout as well as the equity issuance process to maximize the expected present value of the dividends payout minus the equity issuance until the time of bankruptcy. This is the first time that the financing process in an insurance model with two kinds of transaction costs, which come from real financial market has been considered. We solve the mixed classical-impulse control problem by constructing two categories of suboptimal models, one is the classical model without equity issuance, the other never goes bankrupt by equity issuance.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the optimal investment and proportional reinsurance strategy when an insurance company wishes to maximize the expected exponential utility of the terminal wealth. It is assumed that the instantaneous rate of investment return follows an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. Using stochastic control theory and Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations, explicit expressions for the optimal strategy and value function are derived not only for the compound Poisson risk model but also for the Brownian motion risk model. Further, we investigate the partially observable optimization problem, and also obtain explicit expressions for the optimal results.  相似文献

In 1988, Shanthikumar proved that the sum of a geometrically distributed number of i.i.d. DFR random variables is also DFR. In this paper, motivated by the inverse problem, we study monotonicity properties related to defective renewal equations, and obtain that if a compound geometric distribution is DFR, then the random variables of the sums are NWU (a class that contains DFR). Furthermore, we investigate some applications of risk theory and give a characterization of the exponential distribution.  相似文献

Conditions for the existence of strictly stationary multivariate GARCH processes in the so-called BEKK parametrisation, which is the most general form of multivariate GARCH processes typically used in applications, and for their geometric ergodicity are obtained. The conditions are that the driving noise is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure and zero is in the interior of its support and that a certain matrix built from the GARCH coefficients has spectral radius smaller than one.To establish the results, semi-polynomial Markov chains are defined and analysed using algebraic geometry.  相似文献

A question arising in stream cypher cryptanalysis is reframed and generalized in the setting of Hadamard matrices as follows: For given n, what is the maximum value of k   for which there exists a k×nk×n(±1)(±1)-matrix A   such that AAT=nIkAAT=nIk, with each row after the first obtained by a cyclic shift of its predecessor by one position? For obvious reasons we call such matrices circulant partial Hadamard matrices. Further, what is the maximum value of k subject to the condition that the row sums are equal to r?  相似文献

We consider an insurance risk model for the cashflow of an insurance company, which invests its reserve into a portfolio consisting of risky and riskless assets. The price of the risky asset is modeled by an exponential Lévy process. We derive the integrated risk process and the corresponding discounted net loss process. We calculate certain quantities as characteristic functions and moments. We also show under weak conditions stationarity of the discounted net loss process and derive the left and right tail behavior of the model. Our results show that the model carries a high risk, which may originate either from large insurance claims or from the risky investment.  相似文献

Stochastic networks with time varying arrival and service rates and routing structure are studied. Time variations are governed by, in addition to the state of the system, two independent finite state Markov processes X and Y. The transition times of X are significantly smaller than typical inter-arrival and processing times whereas the reverse is true for the Markov process Y. By introducing a suitable scaling parameter one can model such a system using a hierarchy of time scales. Diffusion approximations for such multiscale systems are established under a suitable heavy traffic condition. In particular, it is shown that, under certain conditions, properly normalized buffer content processes converge weakly to a reflected diffusion. The drift and diffusion coefficients of this limit model are functions of the state process, the invariant distribution of X, and a finite state Markov process which is independent of the driving Brownian motion.  相似文献

We prove both geometric ergodicity and regular variation of the stationary distribution for a class of nonlinear stochastic recursions that includes nonlinear AR-ARCH models of order 1. The Lyapounov exponent for the model, the index of regular variation and the spectral measure for the regular variation all are characterized by a simple two-state Markov chain.  相似文献

We prove that the class of discrete time stationary max-stable process satisfying the Markov property is equal, up to time reversal, to the class of stationary max-autoregressive processes of order 1. A similar statement is also proved for continuous time processes.  相似文献

We study the asymptotic behavior of the Gerber-Shiu expected discounted penalty function in the renewal risk model. Under the assumption that the claim-size distribution has a convolution-equivalent density function, which allows both heavy-tailed and light-tailed cases, we establish some asymptotic formulas for the Gerber-Shiu function with a fairly general penalty function. These formulas become completely transparent in the compound Poisson risk model or for certain choices of the penalty function in the renewal risk model. A by-product of this work is an extension of the Wiener-Hopf factorization to include the times of ascending and descending ladders in the continuous-time renewal risk model.  相似文献

The distribution of the excess process describing heights of extreme values can be approximated by the distribution of a Poisson cluster process. An estimate of the accuracy of such an approximation has been derived in [4] in terms of the Wasserstein distance. The paper presents a sharper estimate established in terms of the stronger total variation distance. We derive also a new bound to the accuracy of negative Binomial approximation to the distribution of the number of exceedances.  相似文献

We consider an insurance risk process with the possibility to invest the capital reserve into a portfolio consisting of a risky asset and a riskless asset. The stock price is modelled by an exponential Lévy process and the riskless interest rate is assumed to be constant. We aim at the risk assessment of the integrated risk process in terms of a high quantile or the far out distribution tail. We indicate an application to an optimal investment strategy of an insurer.  相似文献

Protein translocation in cells has been modelled by Brownian ratchets  . In such models, the protein diffuses through a nanopore. On one side of the pore, ratcheting molecules bind to the protein and hinder it to diffuse out of the pore. We study a Brownian ratchet by means of a reflected Brownian motion (Xt)t0(Xt)t0 with a changing reflection point (Rt)t0(Rt)t0. The rate of change of RtRt is γ(XtRt)γ(XtRt) and the new reflection boundary is distributed uniformly between RtRt and XtXt. The asymptotic speed of the ratchet scales with γ1/3γ1/3 and the asymptotic variance is independent of γγ.  相似文献

In this paper, the discounted penalty (Gerber-Shiu) functions for a risk model involving two independent classes of insurance risks under a threshold dividend strategy are developed. We also assume that the two claim number processes are independent Poisson and generalized Erlang (2) processes, respectively. When the surplus is above this threshold level, dividends are paid at a constant rate that does not exceed the premium rate. Two systems of integro-differential equations for discounted penalty functions are derived, based on whether the surplus is above this threshold level. Laplace transformations of the discounted penalty functions when the surplus is below the threshold level are obtained. And we also derive a system of renewal equations satisfied by the discounted penalty function with initial surplus above the threshold strategy via the Dickson-Hipp operator. Finally, analytical solutions of the two systems of integro-differential equations are presented.  相似文献
