We have designed and demonstrated a prototype on-beam spin-exchange optical pumping (SEOP) 3He neutron spin filter (NSF). It is designed as the incident neutron polarizer for spallation neutron sources, where the installation space is limited due to thick radiation shielding. The size of the NSF is roughly 50 cm×50 cm×25 cm including the diode-laser optics with a frequency narrowing external cavity, and a cylindrical 3He cell as large as a diameter of 5 cm and a length of 10 cm can fit. A neutron beam test was performed at the NOP beamline of JRR-3 to see the performance of the NSF.  相似文献

A 19F MR chemical shift imaging (CSI) technique is presented which enables selective imaging of the antineoplastic drug 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and its major catabolite α-fluoro-β-alanine (FBAL). The CSI sequence employs a chemical shift selective (CHESS) saturation pulse to suppress either the 5-FU or the FBAL resonance before the other component of the two-line 19F MR spectrum is measured. Because the transmitter frequency can always be set to the Larmor frequency of the 19F resonance to be imaged, this approach yields 5-FU and FBAL MR images free of chemical shift artifacts in read-out and slice-selection direction. In phantom experiments, selective 5-FU and FBAL images with a spatial resolution of 15 × 15 × 20 mm3 (4.5 ml) were obtained in 30 min from a model solution, whose drug and catabolite concentrations were similar to those estimated in the liver of tumor patients undergoing IV chemotherapy with 5-FU. The drug-specific MR imaging technique developed is, therefore, well-suited for the direct and noninvasive monitoring of the up-take and trapping of 5-FU in liver tumors in vivo.  相似文献

This paper reports the spectral properties and energy levels of Cr3+:Sc2(MoO4)3 crystal. The crystal field strength Dq, Racah parameter B and C were calculated to be 1408 cm−1, 608 cm−1 and 3054 cm−1, respectively. The absorption cross sections σα of 4A24T1 and 4A24T2 transitions were 3.74×10−19 cm2 at 499 nm and 3.21×10−19 cm2 at 710 nm, respectively. The emission cross section σe was 375×10−20 cm2 at 880 nm. Cr3+:Sc2(MoO4)3 crystal has a broad emission band with a broad FWHM of 176 nm (2179 cm−1). Therefore, Cr3+:Sc2(MoO4)3 crystal may be regarded as a potential tunable laser gain medium.  相似文献

Proton NMR resonances of the endogenous metabolites creatine and phosphocreatine ((P)Cr), taurine (Tau), and carnosine (Cs, β-alanyl-l-histidine) were studied with regard to residual dipolar couplings and molecular mobility. We present an analysis of the direct 1H–1H interaction that provides information on motional reorientation of subgroups in these molecules in vivo. For this purpose, localized 1H NMR experiments were performed on m. gastrocnemius of healthy volunteers using a 1.5-T clinical whole-body MR scanner. We evaluated the observable dipolar coupling strength SD0 (S = order parameter) of the (P)Cr-methyl triplet and the Tau-methylene doublet by means of the apparent line splitting. These were compared to the dipolar coupling strength of the (P)Cr-methylene doublet. In contrast to the aliphatic protons of (P)Cr and Tau, the aromatic H2 (δ = 8 ppm) and H4 (δ = 7 ppm) protons of the imidazole ring of Cs exhibit second-order spectra at 1.5 T. This effect is the consequence of incomplete transition from Zeeman to Paschen-Back regime and allows a determination of SD0 from H2 and H4 of Cs as an alternative to evaluating the multiplet splitting which can be measured directly in high-resolution 1H NMR spectra. Experimental data showed striking differences in the mobility of the metabolites when the dipolar coupling constant D0 (calculated with the internuclear distance known from molecular geometry in the case of complete absence of molecular dynamics and motion) is used for comparison. The aliphatic signals involve very small order parameters S ≈ (1.4 − 3) × 10−4 indicating rapid reorientation of the corresponding subgroups in these metabolites. In contrast, analysis of the Cs resonances yielded S ≈ (113 − 137) × 10−4. Thus, the immobilization of the Cs imidazole ring owing to an anisotropic cellular substructure in human m. gastrocnemius is much more effective than for (P)Cr and Tau subgroups. Furthermore, 1H NMR experiments on aqueous model solutions of histidine and N-acetyl-l-aspartate (NAA) enabled the assignment of an additional signal component at δ = 8 ppm of Cs in vivo to the amide group at the peptide bond. The visibility of this proton could result from hydrogen bonding which would agree with the anticipated stronger motional restriction of Cs. Referring to the observation that all dipolar-coupled multiplets resolved in localized in vivo 1H NMR spectra of human m. gastrocnemius collapse simultaneously when the fibre structure is tilted towards the magic angle (θ ≈ 55°), a common model for molecular confinement in muscle tissue is proposed on the basis of an interaction of the studied metabolites with myocellular membrane phospholipids.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the third part of the analysis of the very weak absorption spectrum of the 18O3 isotopologue of ozone recorded by CW-Cavity Ring Down Spectroscopy between 5930 and 6900 cm−1. In the two first parts [A. Campargue, A. Liu, S. Kassi, D. Romanini, M.-R. De Backer-Barilly, A. Barbe, E. Starikova, S.A. Tashkun, Vl.G. Tyuterev, J. Mol. Spectrosc. (2009), doi: 10.1016/j.jms.2009.02.012 and E. Starikova, M.-R. De Backer-Barilly, A. Barbe, Vl.G. Tyuterev, A. Campargue, A.W.Liu, S. Kassi, J. Mol. Spectrosc. (2009) doi: 10.1016/j.jms.2009.03.013], the effective operators approach was used to model the spectrum in the 6200–6400 and 5930–6080 cm−1 regions, respectively. The analysis of the whole investigated region is completed by the present investigation of the 6490–6900 cm−1 upper range. Three sets of interacting states have been treated separately. The first one falls in the 6490–6700 cm−1 region, where 1555 rovibrational transitions were assigned to three A-type bands: 3ν2 + 5ν3, 5ν1 + ν2 + ν3 and 2ν1 + 3ν2 + 3ν3 and one B-type band: ν1 + 3ν2 + 4ν3. The corresponding line positions were reproduced with an rms deviation of 18.4 × 10−3 cm−1 by using an effective Hamiltonian (EH) model involving eight vibrational states coupled by resonance interactions. In the highest spectral region – 6700–6900 cm−1 – 389 and 183 transitions have been assigned to the ν1 + 2ν2 + 5ν3 and 4ν1 + 3ν2 + ν3 A-type bands, respectively. These very weak bands correspond to the most excited upper vibrational states observed so far in ozone. The line positions of the ν1 + 2ν2 + 5ν3 band were reproduced with an rms deviation of 7.3 × 10−3 cm−1 by using an EH involving the {(054), (026), (125)} interacting states. The coupling of the (431) upper state with the (502) dark state was needed to account for the observed line positions of the 4ν1 + 3ν2 + ν3 band (rms = 5.7 × 10−3 cm−1).The dipole transition moment parameters were determined for the different observed bands. The obtained set of parameters and the experimentally determined energy levels were used to generate a complete line list provided as Supplementary Materials.The results of the analyses of the whole 5930–6900 cm−1 spectral region were gathered and used for a comparison of the band centres to their calculated values. The agreement achieved for both 18O3 and 16O3 (average difference on the order of 1 cm−1) indicates that the used potential energy surface provides accurate predictions up to a vibrational excitation approaching 80% of the dissociation energy. The comparison of the 18O3 and 16O3 band intensities is also discussed, opening a field of questions concerning the variation of the dipole moments and resonance intensity borrowing by isotopic substitution.  相似文献

This study investigates the effect of high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to muscle tissue transfected with a luciferase reporter gene under the control of a CMV-promoter. HIFU was applied to the transfected muscle tissue using a dual HIFU system. In a first group four different intensities (802 W/cm2, 1401 W/cm2, 2117 W/cm2, 3067 W/cm2) of continuous HIFU were applied 20 s every other week for four times. In a second group two different intensities (802 W/cm2, 1401 W/cm2) were applied 20 s every fourth day for 20 times. The luciferase activity was determined by bioluminescence imaging. The effect of HIFU to the muscle tissue was assessed by T1-weighted ± Gd-DTPA, T2-weighted and a diffusion-weighted STEAM sequence obtained on a 1.5-T GE-MRI scanner. Histology of the treated tissue was done at the end. In the first group the photon emission was at 3067.6 W/cm2 1.28 × 107 ± 3.1 × 106 photon/s (5.5 ± 1.2-fold), of 2157.9 W/cm2 8.1 ± 2.7 × 106 photon/s (3.2 ± 1.1-fold), of 1401.9 W/cm2 9.3 ± 1.3 × 106 photon/s (4.9 ± 0.4-fold) and of 802.0 W/cm2 8.6x ± 1.2 × 106 photon/s (4.5 ± 0.6-fold) compared to baseline. In the second group the photon emission was at 1401.9 W/cm2 and 802.0 W/cm2 14.1 ± 3.6 × 106 photon/s (6.1 ± 1.5-fold), respectively, 5.1 ± 4.7 × 106 photon/s (6.5 ± 2.0-fold). HIFU can enhance the luciferase activity controlled by a CMV-promoter.  相似文献

The multi-components of T2 relaxation in cartilage and tendon were investigated by microscopic MRI (μMRI) at 13 and 26 μm transverse resolutions. Two imaging protocols were used to quantify T2 relaxation in the specimens, a 5-point sampling and a 60-point sampling. Both multi-exponential and non-negative-least-square (NNLS) fitting methods were used to analyze the μMRI signal. When the imaging voxel size was 6.76 × 10−4 mm3 and within the limit of practical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in microscopic imaging experiments, we found that (1) canine tendon has multiple T2 components; (2) bovine nasal cartilage has a single T2 component; and (3) canine articular cartilage has a single T2 component. The T2 profiles from both 5-point and 60-point methods were found to be consistent in articular cartilage. In addition, the depletion of the glycosaminoglycan component in cartilage by the trypsin digestion method was found to result in a 9.81–20.52% increase in T2 relaxation in articular cartilage, depending upon the angle at which the tissue specimen was oriented in the magnetic field.  相似文献

ZnSe:Co2+ crystals were grown by the Bridgeman technique. Optical absorption measurements showed non-uniform distribution of Co2+ ions along the as-grown crystals. Using Pfann formula the distribution coefficient of Co2+ ions between crystal and melt was estimated to be 0.5. Transmission dependence on laser power at λ=1535 nm was investigated for different Co2+ ions concentration. Maximal final transmission was found for ZnSe samples containing 1.6×1019 cm−3 of Co2+ ions. Obtained ZnSe:Co2+ samples were used as saturable absorbers to generate giant-pulse eye-safe laser radiation. KIGRE QE-7S rod placed in resonator cavity was used as active element.  相似文献

Charge carrier traps in as-grown TlGaSeS layered single crystals were studied using thermally stimulated current measurements. The investigations were performed in temperatures ranging from 10 to 100 K. The experimental evidences were found for the presence of one shallow hole trapping center in TlGaSeS, located at 12 meV from the valence band. The trap parameters have been calculated using various methods of analysis, and these agree well with each other. Its capture cross-section and concentration have been found to be 8.9 × 10−26 cm2 and 2.0 × 1014 cm−3, respectively. Analysis of the thermally stimulated current data at different light excitation temperatures leads to a value of 19 meV/decade for the shallow hole traps distribution.  相似文献

We report on the efficient room-temperature operation of 4F3/24I9/2 transition in a diode pumped Nd:YAG laser operating at 946 nm. An output power of 5.1 W and a slope efficiency of 23.6% at 946 nm have been obtained. Different LBO crystals of length 3×3×10 mm3, 3×3×15 mm3, 3×3×18 mm3 were selected as frequency doubling material for comparison. A maximum single-ended output power of 1.3 W at 473 nm was achieved by frequency doubling with an optical conversion efficiency of 5%. When the Nd:YAG rod was replaced by the one with high reflectivity coating at 473 nm on the pump side, the output power of blue light was almost twice that without high reflectivity coating for 473 nm at the same pump power level. Moreover, the theoretical optimum length of LBO crystal for intracavity frequency doubling was discussed, and the experimental results made a good agreement with it.  相似文献

We have fabricated finite-sized Pb superconducting networks with 10 × 10 square (each 6 × 6 μm2) holes by using the electron beam lithography and vortex arrangements are visualized by using magneto-optical imaging. We find that the vortex penetration at low temperature is controlled by defects in the network. We also find nearly regular arrangements of vortices with defects close to 1/2 and1/3 of the matching field.  相似文献

Molybdenum oxide films (MoO3) were deposited on glass and crystalline silicon substrates by sputtering of molybdenum target under various oxygen partial pressures in the range 8 × 10−5–8 × 10−4 mbar and at a fixed substrate temperature of 473 K employing dc magnetron sputtering technique. The influence of oxygen partial pressure on the composition stoichiometry, chemical binding configuration, crystallographic structure and electrical and optical properties was systematically studied. X-ray photoelectron spectra of the films formed at 8 × 10−5 mbar showed the presence of Mo6+ and Mo5+ oxidation states of MoO3 and MoO3−x. The films deposited at oxygen partial pressure of 2 × 10−4 mbar showed Mo6+ oxidation state indicating the films were nearly stoichiometric. It was also confirmed by the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic studies. X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the films formed at oxygen partial pressure of 2 × 10−4 mbar showed the presence of (0 k 0) reflections indicated the layered structure of α-phase MoO3. The electrical conductivity of the films decreased from 3.6 × 10−5 to 1.6 × 10−6 Ω−1 cm−1, the optical band gap of the films increased from 2.93 to 3.26 eV and the refractive index increased from 2.02 to 2.13 with the increase of oxygen partial pressure from 8 × 10−5 to 8 × 10−4 mbar, respectively.  相似文献

We report on fundamental and intracavity frequency-doubled emission in a miniature Nd:YVO4 (3×3×1 mm) laser. A maximum slope efficiency of ηs=58.6%, with optical efficiency of η0=53.0% at 780 mW pump power was realized in a TEM00 output beam. To obtain the optimum pump-beam focusing conditions we applied a new formalism in which the pump-beam propagation in the active medium was described by its M2 factor. A good agreement between theoretical predictions and experimental results was observed. In second-harmonic regime, obtained by a KTP crystal, 230 mW green power that corresponds to 54% nonlinear conversion efficiency was reached.  相似文献

Micron-scale mixing of magnesium and boron powders by mechanical alloying allows the MgB2 formation reaction to proceed as low as 450 °C, with high-quality material formed in an hour at 600 °C. At these low reaction temperatures the reaction can be performed in situ in a copper sheath, and it is found that the presence of copper enhances the superconducting properties of the MgB2. Self-field critical current densities, calculated from full critical-state simulation of magnetization hysteresis, are up to 7 × 105 A/cm2 at 13.6 K and 1 × 105 A/cm2 at 30 K.  相似文献

Interactions between anaerobic biofilms and heavy metals such as iron, cobalt or nickel are largely unknown. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a non-invasive method that allows in situ studies of metal transport within biofilm matrixes. The present study investigates quantitatively the penetration of iron (1.75 mM) bound to ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA) into the methanogenic granules (spherical biofilm). A spatial resolution of 109 × 109 × 218 μm3 and a temporal resolution of 11 min are achieved with 3D Turbo Spin Echo (TSE) measurements. The longitudinal relaxivity, i.e. the slope the dependence of the relaxation rate (1/T1) on the concentration of paramagnetic metal ions, was used to measure temporal changes in iron concentration in the methanogenic granules. It took up to 300 min for the iron–EDTA complex ([FeEDTA]2−) to penetrate into the methanogenic granules (3–4 mm in diameter). The diffusion was equally fast in all directions with irregularities such as diffusion-facilitating channels and diffusion-resistant zones. Despite these irregularities, the overall process could be modeled using Fick’s equations for diffusion in a sphere, because immobilization of [FeEDTA]2− in the granular matrix (or the presence of a reactive barrier) was not observed. The effective diffusion coefficient (Dejf) of [FeEDTA]2− was found to be 2.8 × 10−11 m2 s−1, i.e. approximately 4% of Dejf of [FeEDTA]2− in water. The Fickian model did not correspond to the processes taking place in the core of the granule (3–5% of the total volume of the granule), where up to 25% over-saturation by iron (compare to the concentration in the bulk solution) occurred.  相似文献

Effects of fast neutron irradiation and post-annealing on magnetic properties of Rb3C60 were studied through the dc magnetization measurement. Rb3C60 powder samples were prepared in an evacuated quartz glass tube, and the temperature and the magnetic field dependences of dc magnetization were measured before and after irradiation and after post-annealing. The neutron fluences were 1.0, 1.8 and 3.3 × 1016 n/cm2, and the post-annealing was made at a temperature of 473 K for 3 h. Magnetic hysteresis of the samples irradiated at the fluence of 1.8 and 3.3 × 1016 n/cm2 disappeared, and the hysteresis curves hardly changed at the fluence of 1.0 × 1016 n/cm2. As for the post-annealing effect, the hysteresis curves of the sample irradiated at the fluence of 1.8 × 1016 n/cm2 were completely recovered after annealing, while those of the other samples, which had a magnetic background before irradiation, were not recovered. In this study, it was found that the loss of superconductivity in Rb3C60 powder is observed when the neutron irradiation fluence exceeds 1.0 × 1016 n/cm2, and the lost superconductivity is completely recovered by the post-annealing at 473 K for 3 h.  相似文献

The second-order moments method is used to study the M2 factor and intrinsic astigmatism of twisted Gaussian Schell-model (GSM) beams. It is shown that the M2 factor of twisted GSM beams defined by the determinate of the 4×4 variance matrix is a propagation invariant and is independent of the beam twist, whereas the twist affects the intrinsic astigmatism of twisted GSM beams.  相似文献

17O magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using a conventional pulse sequence was explored as a method of quantitative imaging towards regional oxygen consumption rate measurement for tumor evaluation in mice. At 7 T, fast imaging with steady state (FISP) was the best among gradient echo, fast spin echo and FISP for the purpose. The distribution of natural abundance H217O in mice was visualized under spatial resolution of 2.5 × 2.5 mm2 by FISP in 10 min. The signal intensity by FISP showed a linear relationship with 17O quantity both in phantom and mice. Following the injection of 5% 17O enriched saline, 17O re-distribution was monitored in temporal resolution down to 5 sec with an image quality sufficient to distinguish each organ. The image of labeled water produced from inhaled 17O2 gas was also obtained. The present method provides quantitative 17O images under sufficient temporal and spatial resolution for the evaluation of oxygen consumption rate in each organ. Experiments using various model compounds of R-OH type clarified that the signal contribution of body constituents other than water in the present in vivo17O FISP image was negligible.  相似文献

In this paper, we proposed a novel infrared absorbing structure for uncooled infrared detectors. The infrared absorber makes use of a quarter-wavelength structure composed of a dielectric layer, a protecting layer, an active layer, a supporting layer and a reflecting layer. Sputtered amorphous silicon is used as a dielectric layer because of its high refractive index. We fabricated the uncooled microbolometer with the proposed infrared absorbing structure by surface micromachining method. Then we characterized various bolometric properties such as thermal conductance, thermal time constant, responsivity and infrared absorptance. The fabricated bolometer showed the thermal conductance of 6.72 × 10−7 W/K, the thermal mass of 4.43 × 10−9 J/K, the thermal time constant of 6.6 ms and the responsivity of 7.76 × 103 V/W at 10 Hz chopper frequency and 9.22 μA bias current. From the results, the estimated absorptance is about 80%. We expect that the proposed absorbing structure shows high infrared absorption and high performance of uncooled microbolometer.  相似文献

23Na NMR microimaging is described to map, for the first time, the sodium distribution in living plants. As an example, the response of 6-day-old seedlings of Ricinus communis to exposure to sodium chloride concentrations from 5 to 300 mM was observed in vivo using 23Na as well as 1H NMR microimaging. Experiments were performed at 11.75 T with a double resonant 23Na–1H probehead. The probehead was homebuilt and equipped with a climate chamber. T1 and T2 of 23Na were measured in the cross section of the hypocotyl. Within 85 min 23Na images with an in-plane resolution of 156 × 156 μm were acquired. With this spatial information, the different types of tissue in the hypocotyl can be discerned. The measurement time appears to be short compared to the time scale of sodium uptake and accumulation in the plant so that the kinetics of salt stress can be followed. In conclusion, 23Na NMR microimaging promises great potential for physiological studies of the consequences of salt stress on the macroscopic level and thus may become a unique tool for characterizing plants with respect to salt tolerance and salt sensitivity.  相似文献
