By throwing a test charged particle into a Reissner-Nordstrom (RN) black hole, we test the validity of the first and second laws of thermodynamics and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture (WCCC) with two types of boundary conditions: the asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS) space and a Dirichlet cavity wall placed in an asymptotically flat space. For the RN-AdS black hole, the second law of thermodynamics is satisfied, and the WCCC is violated for both extremal and near-extremal black holes. For the RN black hole in a cavity, the entropy can either increase or decrease depending on the change in the charge, and the WCCC is satisfied/violated for the extremal/near-extremal black hole. Our results indicate that there may be a connection between the black hole thermodynamics and the boundary condition imposed on the black hole.  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the effect of nonlinear electrodynamics on the shadows of charged, slowly rotating black holes with the presence of a cosmological constant. Rather than the null geodesic of the background black hole spacetime, the trajectory of a photon, as a perturbation of the nonlinear electrodynamic field, is governed by an effective metric. The latter can be derived by analyzing the propagation of a discontinuity of the electromagnetic waveform. Subsequently, the image of the black hole and its shadow can be evaluated using the backward ray-tracing technique. We explore the properties of the resultant black hole shadows of two different scenarios of nonlinear electrodynamics, namely, the logarithmic and exponential forms. In particular, the effects of nonlinear electrodynamics on the optical image are investigated, as well as the image's dependence on other metric parameters, such as the black hole spin and charge. The resulting black hole image and shadow display rich features that potentially lead to observational implications.  相似文献

In order to clearly understand the gravitational theory through the thermal properties of the black hole, it is important to further investigate the first-order phase transition of black holes. In this paper, we adopt different conjugate variables (\begin{document}$ P\sim V $\end{document}, \begin{document}$ T\sim S $\end{document}, \begin{document}$ C_1\sim c_1 $\end{document}, and \begin{document}$ C_2\sim c_2 $\end{document}) and apply Maxwell's equal-area law to study the phase equilibrium of a topological black hole in massive gravity. The condition and latent heat of phase transition are displayed as well as the coexistent curve of \begin{document}$ P-T $\end{document}. The result shows that the phase transition of this system is the high/low electric potentials one, not only the large/small black holes one. We also analyze the effect of the model's parameters on phase transition. Furthermore we introduce a new order parameter to probe the microstructure of this system. This work will provide the theoretical basis to study the phase structure of topological black holes in massive gravity and to further explore the gravitational theory.  相似文献

Super-entropic black holes possess finite-area but noncompact event horizons and violate the reverse isoperimetric inequality. It has been conjectured that such black holes always have negative specific heat at constant volume \begin{document}$ C_{V} $\end{document} or negative specific heat at constant pressure \begin{document}$ C_{P} $\end{document} whenever \begin{document}$ C_{V}>0 $\end{document}, making them unstable in extended thermodynamics. In this paper, we describe a test of this instability conjecture with a family of nonlinear electrodynamic black holes, namely 3D Einstein-Born-Infeld (EBI) AdS black holes. Our results show that when nonlinear electrodynamics effects are weak, the instability conjecture is valid. However, the conjecture can be violated in some parameter region when nonlinear electrodynamics effects are strong enough. This observation thus provides a counter example to the instability conjecture, which suggests that super-entropic black holes may be thermodynamically stable.  相似文献

We obtain a magnetically charged regular black hole in general relativity. The source to the Einstein field equations is nonlinear electrodynamic field in a physically reasonable model of nonlinear electrodynamics (NED). “Physically” here means the NED model is constructed on the basis of three conditions: the Maxwell asymptotic in the weak electromagnetic field limit; the presence of vacuum birefringence phenomenon; and satisfying the weak energy condition (WEC). In addition, we analyze the thermodynamic properties of the regular black hole in two ways. According to the usual black hole thermodynamics, we calculate the heat capacity at constant charge, from which we know the smaller black hole is more stable. We also employ the horizon thermodynamics to discuss the thermodynamic quantities, especially the heat capacity at constant pressure.  相似文献

On the basis of a charged BTZ black hole, we add an extra term in the metric function to describe the contribution from nonlinear electrodynamics. In this way we artificially construct a (2 + 1)-dimensional black hole in general relativity coupled with a nonlinear electrodynamics source. The thermodynamic quantities and Smarr formula are derived. It is found that this black hole has TS criticality like that of an RN-AdS black hole. Further modifying the metric function, we obtain a (2 + 1)-dimensional black hole possessing PV critical behaviors similar to that of van der Waals fluid. To our knowledge, this is the first example of (2 + 1)-dimensional black holes having this kind of critical behavior.  相似文献

Using a modified expression for the electric potential in the context of T-duality [Gaete and Nicolini, Phys. Lett. B, 2022], we obtained an exact charged solution within the 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet (4D EGB) theory of gravity in the presence of a cosmological constant. We show that the solution also exists in the regularized 4D EGB theory. Moreover, we point out a correspondence between the black hole solution in the 4D EGB theory and the solution in the non-relativistic Horava–Lifshitz theory. The black hole solution is regular and free from singularity. As a special case, we derive a class of well known solutions in the literature.  相似文献

In this paper, the Joule–Thomson expansion of the higher dimensional nonlinearly anti-de Sitter(Ad S) black hole with power Maxwell invariant source is investigated. The results show the Joule–Thomson coefficient has a zero point and a divergent point, which coincide with the inversion temperature Tiand the zero point of the Hawking temperature, respectively. The inversion temperature increases monotonously with inversion pressure. For the high-pressure region, the inversion temperature decreases with the dimensionality D and the nonlinearity parameter s, whereas it increases with the charge Q. However, Tifor the low-pressure region increase with D and s, while it decreases with Q. The ratio ηBHbetween the minimum inversion temperature and the critical temperature does not depend on Q, it recovers the higher dimensional Reissner–N?rdstrom Ad S black hole case when s = 1. However, for s 1, it becomes smaller and smaller as D increases and approaches a constant when D →∞. Finally, we found that an increase of mass M and s, or reducing the charge Q and D can enhance the isenthalpic curve, and the effect of s on the isenthalpic curve is much greater than other parameters.  相似文献

We present an exact three-dimensional massive Kiselev AdS black hole solution. This Kiselev black hole is neither perfectly fluid, nor is it the quintessential solution, but the BTZ black hole modified by the anisotropic matter. This black hole possesses an essential singularity at its radial origin and a single horizon whose radius will increase monotonically when the parameter of the anisotropic matter field ω decreases. We calculate all thermodynamic quantities and find that the first law of thermodynamics of this massive Kiselev AdS black hole can be protected, while the consistent Smarr formula is only held in the extended thermodynamic phase space. After examining the sign of free energy, we conclude that there is no Hawking-Page transition since the massive Kiselev AdS black hole phase is always thermodynamically favored. Moreover, we study the phase transition between the Kiselev AdS black hole and BTZ black hole by considering the matchings for their temperature. We find that the Kiselev AdS black hole is still a thermodynamically more preferred phase, because it always has a smaller amount of free energy than the BTZ black hole, which seems to indicate that the anisotropic matter field may emerge naturally in BTZ black hole spacetime under some thermal fluctuations. We also show a first order phase transition between the Kiselev AdS black hole phase with -1w -1/2 and the black hole phase with -1/2w0. As the Kiselev AdS black hole has some notable features on the phase transition of black holes in three dimensions, it provides important clues to further investigate these both surprising and similar behaviors in four and higher dimensions.  相似文献

In this study, we investigate the phase transitions of the RN-AdS black hole at its Davies points according to the generalized Ehrenfest classification of phase transition established based on fractional derivatives. Notably, Davies points label the positions at which the heat capacity diverges. According to the usual Ehrenfest classification, second-order phase transitions occur at these points. For the RN-AdS black hole, the Davies points can be classified into two types. The first type corresponds to extreme values of the temperature, and the second type corresponds to the infection point (namely the critical point) of temperature. Employing the generalized Ehrenfest classification, we determine that the orders of phase transition at the two types of Davies points are different, that is, we note an order of 3/2 for the first type and 4/3 for the second type. Thus, this finer-grained classification can discriminate between phase transitions that are expected to lie in the same category, providing new insights leading toward a better understanding of black hole thermodynamics.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the thermodynamics and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture of the nonlinear electrodynamics black hole under the scattering of a charged complex scalar field.According to the energy and charge fluxes of the scalar field, the variations of this black hole's energy and charge can be calculated during an infinitesimal time interval. With scalar field scattering, the variation of the black hole is calculated in the extended and normal phase spaces. In the normal phase space, the cosmological constant and the normalization parameter are fixed, and the first and second laws of thermodynamics can also be satisfied. In the extended phase space, the cosmological constant and the normalization parameter are considered as thermodynamic variables, and the first law of thermodynamics is valid, but the second law of thermodynamics is not valid. Furthermore, the weak cosmic censorship conjecture is both valid in the extended and normal phase spaces.  相似文献

In this study, the gravitational decoupling approach via extended geometric deformation is utilized to generate analytical black hole solutions owing to its simplicity and effectiveness. Considering the external fields surrounding Schwarzschild AdS black holes, we derive hairy black hole solutions in asymptotic AdS spacetime, satisfying the strong and dominant energy conditions. Moreover, we find that if the black hole spacetime is a fluid system, the fluid under each of these conditions is anisotropic.  相似文献

We discuss black hole solutions of Einstein-Λ gravity in the presence of nonlinear electrodynamics in d S spacetime. Considering the correlation of the thermodynamic quantities respectively corresponding to the black hole horizon and cosmological horizon of dS spacetime and taking the region between the two horizons as a thermodynamic system, we derive effective thermodynamic quantities of the system according to the first law of thermodynamics, and investigate the thermodynamic properties of the system under the influence of nonlinearity parameter α. It is shown that nonlinearity parameter α influences the position of the black hole horizon and the critical state of the system, and along with electric charge has an effect on the phase structure of the system, which is obvious, especially as the effective temperature is below the critical temperature. The critical phase transition is proved to be second-order equilibrium phase transition by using the Gibbs free energy criterion and Ehrenfest equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we visit the thermodynamic criticality and thermodynamic curvature of the charged AdS black hole in a new phase space. It is shown that when the square of the total charge of the charged black hole is considered as a thermodynamic quantity, the charged AdS black hole also admits a van der Waals-type critical behavior without the help of thermodynamic pressure and thermodynamic volume. Based on this, we study the fine phase structures of the charged AdS black hole with fixed AdS background in the new framework. On the one hand, we give the phase diagram structures of the charged AdS black hole accurately and analytically, which fills up the gap in dealing with the phase transition of the charged AdS black holes by taking the square of the charge as a thermodynamic quantity. On the other hand, we analyse the thermodynamic curvature of the black hole in two coordinate spaces. The thermodynamic curvatures obtained in two different coordinate spaces are equivalent to each other and are also positive. Based on an empirical conclusion under the framework of thermodynamic geometry, we speculate that when the square of charge is treated as an independent thermodynamic quantity, the charged AdS black hole is likely to present a repulsive between its molecules. More importantly, based on the thermodynamic curvature, we obtain a universal exponent at the critical point of phase transition.  相似文献

In this paper, we employ the extended generalized uncertainty principle with linear terms (LEGUP) to investigate the thermodynamics properties of the Schwarzschild and Reissner–Nordström (RN) black holes. Firstly, by constructing the theoretical framework of LEGUP, the minimal temperature of the Schwarzschild black hole and the modified mass–temperature function for the black hole are calculated. Furthermore, the heat capacity function for the Schwarzschild black hole is obtained. After that, we compare LEGUP black hole thermodynamics with EGUP black hole and with the usual forms. Besides, the modification of black hole entropy is discussed, which involves a heuristic analysis of particles absorbed by the black hole. Finally, we derive the LEGUP-corrected temperature, heat capacity and entropy functions of the RN black hole.  相似文献

We construct a family of d-dimensional Reissner–Nordstr o¨m-Ad S black holes inspired by noncommutative geometry. The density distribution of the gravitational source is determined by the dimension of space, the minimum length of spacetime l, and other parameters(e.g., n relating to the central matter density). The curvature of the center and some thermodynamic properties of these black holes are investigated. We find that the center of the source is nonsingular for n 0(under certain conditions it is also nonsingular for-2 n 0), and the properties at the event horizon, including the Hawking temperature, entropy, and heat capacity, are regular for n -2. Due to the presence of l, there is an exponentially small correction to the usual entropy.  相似文献

A new simpler mathematic method is proposed to study fermions tunneling from black holes. According to this method, by using semiclassical approximation theory, it simplifies the Dirac equation of curved spacetime and then the relationship of the gamma matrix and the component of contravariant metric is considered in order to transform the set of difficult quantum equations into a simple equation. Finally, the fermion tunneling and Hawking radiation of black holes are obtained. The method is very effective and simple, and we will take the Schwarzschild black hole with global monopole and the higher-dimensional Reissner-Nordstrom de Sitter black hole as two examples to show the fact.  相似文献

Considering that the negative pressure of the accelerated expansion of the universe results from the cosmological constant or the dark energy quintessence, we use the dark energy quintessence to construct the "quintessential" phase space. In contrast to the previous discussion in which the cosmological constant is considered as the black hole (BH) phase transition pressure, in this analysis, we believe that the pressure results from quintessence. The characteristics of critical behavior, Gibbs free energy, and temperature behavior in quintessential phase space are investigated. We observe that the phase transition belongs to van der Waals phase transition within\begin{document}$ -1 <\omega_{\rm q}<-2/3 $\end{document}. If \begin{document}$ \omega_{\rm q} $\end{document}is within (–2/3, –1/3), the phase transition loses the large BH phase transition characteristics, which is caused by the later stage of the phase transition being completely dominated by quintessence dark energy with negative pressure. These results suggest that the quintessential phase space can be constructed with the pressure from the thermal quintessence, and it can be used as a new probe to explore the thermodynamics of BHs.  相似文献

The infinite derivative theory of gravity is a generalization of Einstein gravity with many interesting properties, but the black hole solutions in this theory are still not fully understood. In the paper,we concentrate on studying the charged black holes in such a theory.Adding the electromagnetic field part to the effective action,we show how the black hole solutions around the Reissner-Nordstrom metric can be solved perturbatively and iteratively. We further calculate the corresponding temperature, entropy and electrostatic potential of the black holes and verify the first law of thermodynamics.  相似文献

Considering the cosmological constant as the pressure, this study addresses the laws of thermodynamics and weak cosmic censorship conjecture in the Reissner-Nordstr?m-AdS black hole surrounded by quintessence dark energy under charged particle absorption. The first law of thermodynamics is found to be valid as a particle is absorbed by the black hole. The second law, however, is violated for the extremal and near-extremal black holes, because the entropy of these black hole decrease. Moreover, we find that the extremal black hole does not change its configuration in the extended phase space, implying that the weak cosmic censorship conjecture is valid. Remarkably, the near-extremal black hole can be overcharged beyond the extremal condition under charged particle absorption. Hence, the cosmic censorship conjecture could be violated for the near-extremal black hole in the extended phase space. For comparison, we also discuss the first law, second law, and the weak cosmic censorship conjecture in normal phase space, and find that all of them are valid in this case.  相似文献
