Continuous-wave and Q-switched lasing from a Tm(3+)/Ho(3+) codoped tellurite fiber is reported. An Yb(3+)/Er(3+)-doped silica fiber laser operating at 1.6 microm was used as an in-band pump source, exciting the Tm(3+) ions into the (3)F(4) level. Energy is then nonradiatively transferred to the upper laser level, the (5)I(7) state of Ho(3+). The laser transition is from the (5)I(7) level to the (5)I(8) level, and the resulting emission is at 2.1 microm. For continuous wave operation, the slope efficiency was 62% and the threshold 0.1 W; the maximum output demonstrated was 0.16 W. Mechanical Q switching resulted in a pulse of 0.65 microJ energy and 160 ns duration at a repetition rate of 19.4 kHz.  相似文献

采用高温固相法制备了Nd,Tm和Yb掺杂的ZBLAN玻璃上转换材料.Tm3+,Yb3+的摩尔浓度分别固定为0.01%,0.3%,Nd3+摩尔浓度变化范围为0.1%~2%.在室温下,测试了样品在300~1 000nm间的吸收光谱.在798 nm近红外光激发下,测试了样品的上转换光谱.实验发现,样品在798 nm红外光激发下发出了较强的多波段(红,蓝和绿)的可见光.由上转换可见光各波段的发射谱线,给出了能级跃迁机制.蓝光主要来源于Tm3+的激发态1G4到基态3H6的跃迁,绿光来源于Nd3+的2H7/2到基态4I9/2的跃迁,红光来源于Nd3+的2H11/2到基态4i9/2的跃迁.研究发现,在Nd3+,Tm3+,Yb3+:ZBLAN玻璃样品中存在激发态吸收,能最转移和交叉弛豫等上转换过程.其发光机理是Nd3+,TM3+和Yb3+离子之间的能量转移.根据Nd3+摩尔浓度不同其上转换发光强度不同,分析了掺入稀土的浓度对上转换发光效率的影响.当Nd3+浓度为1.5%(摩尔分数)时上转换发光最强,大于1.5%后发光开始减弱.  相似文献

Unidirectional dual-wavelength pumping at 805 and 975 nm of a Tm(3+)-doped silica double-clad fiber laser that has been codoped with Yb(3+) is demonstrated. With equal 2-wt. % concentrations of the Tm(3+) and Yb(3+) ions, slope efficiencies of 49% (57%) and 35% (40%) with respect to the launched (absorbed) pump power of the 805- and 975-nm pump wavelengths, respectively, were obtained. Efficient Yb(3+) --> Tm(3+) energy transfer and efficient cross relaxation combined with minimal upconversion losses were thus operating. At the maximum output power of 18 W, the fiber laser operated at a center wavelength of 2050 nm.  相似文献

利用高温固相法制备了Tm3+/Yb3+共掺杂的氟氧化物玻璃和玻璃陶瓷材料,在980 nm的激光激发下,样品发射出明亮的蓝色上转换荧光。通过对玻璃和玻璃陶瓷样品的对比,发现Tm3+离子和Yb3+离子之间存在着Tm3+(3H4)→Yb3+(2F5/2)的反向能量传输通道,并且与晶场有较强的依赖关系。分析了在玻璃和玻璃陶瓷中蓝色上转换发光过程,随着敏化剂Yb3+浓度的增加,在玻璃中正向和反向能量传递的竞争作用使得Tm3+离子在Yb3+离子的最佳浓度时上转换发光最强;而在玻璃陶瓷中, Tm3+离子的上转换发光始终随着Yb3+离子的浓度增加而增强。  相似文献

Tm3+/Yb3+共掺碲酸盐玻璃的近红外发光及能量传递机理   总被引:3,自引:2,他引:1  
采用高温熔融法制备了组分为TeO2-ZnO-Na2O的Tm3+离子单掺和Tm3+/Yb3+共掺碲酸盐玻璃,应用Judd-Ofelt理论计算分析了玻璃样品的强度参量Ωt(t=2,4,6),自发辐射跃迁几率A,荧光分支比β和荧光辐射寿命τrad等光谱参量,测量得到了不同Yb3+离子掺杂浓度下玻璃样品的Tm3+离子上转换发光谱.结果显示,在980nm泵浦光激励下玻璃样品发射出强烈的近红外上转换荧光.对Tm3+离子上转换发光分析表明,强烈的Tm3+离子近红外上转换发光主要来自于Yb3+/Yb3+离子间的共振能量传递以及基于单声子和双声子辅助的Yb3+/Tm3+离子间的非共振能量传递过程,并进一步计算得到了声子贡献比和能量传递系数.最后,计算分析了Tm3+∶3 F4→3 H6能级间跃迁的1.8μm波段吸收截面、受激发射截面和增益系数.研究表明,Yb3+/Tm3+共掺TeO2-ZnO-Na2O玻璃可以作为近红外波段固体激光器的潜在增益基质.  相似文献

Intense four- and five-photon ultraviolet upconversion processes through sensitization of Tm3+ ions in transparent SiO2-Al2O3-NaF-YF3 glass ceramics triply doped with Tm3+/Yb3+/Nd3+ under 796 nm excitation were investigated. Judd-Ofelt analyses evidenced the incorporation of rare-earth ions into the precipitated beta-YF3 nanocrystals. In contrast with the triply doped one, no ultraviolet upconversion luminescence was observed in the Tm3+/Nd3+ codoped glass ceramic, indicating that Yb3+ acts as bridging ions to enhance the energy transfer efficiency between Nd3+ and Tm3+. Based on the pumping power dependence of luminescence, upconversion mechanisms were proposed.  相似文献

采用高温熔融法分别制备了Yb3+/Ho3+,Yb3+/Tm3+和Yb3+/Ho3+/Tm3+共掺的碲酸盐玻璃。在980nm红外激光激发下,Yb3+/Ho3+/Tm3+共掺的玻璃样品显示了强的蓝光、绿光和红光发射,分别对应于Tm3+的1 G4→3 H6跃迁、Ho3+的5 F4(5 S2)→5I 8跃迁以及Ho3+的5 F5→5I 8和Tm3+的1 G4→3 F4跃迁。通过对比发现,Yb3+/Ho3+/Tm3+共掺样品中的红、绿光积分发射强度比值(3.95)明显大于Yb3+/Ho3+共掺样品(1.69),这是由于Ho3+和Tm3+间存在交叉弛豫过程3 H4(Tm3+)+5I 6(Ho3+)→3 F4(Tm3+)+5 F5(Ho3+)和3 F4(Tm3+)+5I 8(Ho3+)→3 H6(Tm3+)+5I 7(Ho3+)所致。在激发功率密度为8.2 W.cm-2时,Yb3+/Ho3+/Tm3+共掺样品的上转换发光色坐标值为x=0.345,y=0.338,非常接近于等能白光(x=0.333,y=0.333)。  相似文献

Nanostructured amorphous Al oxide (a-Al2O3) thin films doped with Tm3+ were synthesized by alternate pulsed laser deposition. The Tm3+ ions have been deposited in layers with in-depth separation ranging from 0.75 to 6 nm. The films show two broad emission bands originated from the Tm3+ 3H4-->3F4 and 3F4-->3H6 transitions. Their intensity increases at a similar rate and the lifetimes are not modified as the layer separation decreases down to 1.5 nm, suggesting that there is no concentration quenching. At the critical value of 1.5 nm the onset of Tm3+ -Tm3+ energy transfer is evidenced by a sharp decrease of the emission intensity and lifetime. Below this critical value, the rate at which the intensity increases for the 3F4-->3H6 transition is much higher than that for the 3H4-->3F4 transition, evidencing quenching of the 3H4-->3F4 transition through a cross-relaxation mechanism. The control of the Tm3+ ions in the nanometer scale allows evidencing the onset of energy transfer processes among ions and offers a route to optimize compact photonic gain integrated devices.  相似文献

We report gain measurements in Tm(3+)/Yb(3+)-codoped tellurite glass fibers in the 1460-1530-nm region using a conventional 980-nm pumping scheme. The gain spectrum is dependent on the geometry of the fiber and the length owing to the superfluorescence upconversion pump scheme.  相似文献

用高温熔融法制备了Tm3+和Ho3+离子双掺的65GeO2-12AlF3-10BaF2-8Li2O-5La2O3氟锗酸盐玻璃,应用Judd-Ofelt理论,获得了Ho3+离子的强度参量(Ω2,Ω4,Ω6),自发辐射跃迁几率Ar,辐射寿命τ等光谱参量。根据McCumber理论,计算了玻璃中Tm3+和Ho3+离子的吸收截面σa、受激发射截面σe和增益光谱G(λ)。在808nm激光二极管激发下,研究分析了Tm3+离子的交叉弛豫过程和Tm3+敏化Ho3+离子的2.0µm的红外发射光谱。结果表明,一定浓度Ho3+的共掺提高了Tm3+(3F4)→Ho3+(5I7)之间的能量转移效率,增强了~2.0µm的红外发光。  相似文献

The spectroscopic investigation of Tm3+ or (Nd, Yb, Tm)-doped Sc2O3 transparent ceramics, as laser-active media for visible and IR emission, was performed. The spectra are dominated by Tm3+ ions in sites of C2 symmetry and an energy level scheme and other spectral parameters were determined. The strong concentration quenching of 3H4 level emission in Tm:Sc2O3 at 300 K is discussed by considering the resonant cross-relaxation (3H43F4)?(3H63F4) process and multipolar interactions of various orders. The main energy-transfer processes leading to the blue upconversion emission from the 1G4 Tm3+ level in (Tm, Nd, Yb):Sc2O3 ceramic, under pulsed pumping at 808.3 nm were evidenced.  相似文献

研究了Sr3Gd(PO4)3 : Tm3 和GdPO4 : Tm3 样品的结构特性、光谱特性.GdPO4 : Tm3 为单斜晶系,基质掺入铥离子后结构没有明显变化.GdPO4:Tm3 在164和210 nm附近有强烈的吸收峰.位于164 nm附近的强烈的吸收峰是归因于基质的吸收引起,210 nm附近的吸收峰则归因于Gd 的8S7/2-6GJ的能级跃迁.在164 nm真空紫外光激发下,样品于453及363 nm处有较强的发射峰,发射主峰位于453nm,属于Tm3 的1D2→3H4(22,123 cm-1)跃迁的典型发射.由于阳离子质量的不同,Sr3Gd(PO4)3:Tm3 在166 nm附近的激发峰高于GdPO4: Tm3 的同位置的激发峰,其在363 nm处的发射有明显减弱,而在453 nm处的蓝色发射有显著的增强.  相似文献

Optical spectra and luminescence decay curves were measured for thulium-doped YVO(4), GdVO(4), and LuVO(4) single crystals as a function of temperature in the 300-670 K temperature region. In spite of structural similarity, the three systems studied display significantly different transition intensities and nonradiative relaxation rates. It was found, in particular, that the peak value of the pump band absorption intensity diminishes by about 30% for Tm:YVO(4) and Tm:GdVO(4), and the effective emission cross section for the laser transition of Tm(3+) diminishes by a factor of 2 roughly when temperature increases from 300 to 500 K. An unusually small quantum efficiency of the upper laser level in Tm:LuVO(4) has been derived from the analysis of luminescence decay curves.  相似文献

The Nd(3+)-Yb(3+) couple was investigated in fluoroindogallate glasses using optical spectroscopy to elucidate the energy transfer mechanisms involved in the downconversion (DC) process. Upon excitation of a Nd(3+) ion by an ultraviolet photon, DC through a three-step energy transfer process occurs, in which the energy of the ultraviolet photon absorbed by the Nd(3+) ion is converted into three infrared photons emitted by Yb(3+) ions, i.e.?quantum cutting (QC). In addition, with excitation in the visible, our results confirm that the DC process occurs through a one-step energy transfer process, in which the energy of a visible photon absorbed by the Nd(3+) ion is converted into only one infrared photon emitted by an Yb(3+) ion. Time-resolved measurements enabled the estimation of the efficiencies of the cross-relaxation processes between Nd(3+) and Yb(3+) ions.  相似文献

本文首次报导了发光材料中两个不同稀土离子间能量传递的光声光谱研究。测量了LaOBr:Tb,Ce和LaOBr:Er,Tm体系的光声光谱,结合它们的光致发光特性,讨论了Ce3+对Tb3+的敏化、Tm3+对Er3+的猝灭。基质中掺入两种不同稀土离子后光声光谱的变化进一步证实了它们间的能量传递都伴随着多声子过程。分析LaOBr:Er,Tm的光声光谱,对Er3+r的红光猝灭的机制提出了新的解释。  相似文献

This Letter reports intense emission at 2.7 μm and broadband emission at 2.0 μm from Er(3+)/Tm(3+)/Ho(3+)-doped fluorophosphate glass. The fluorescence characteristics and energy transfer upon excitation of a conventional 980 nm laser diode are investigated. Based on the fluorescence spectra and lifetime measurement, the effect of Tm(3+) and Ho(3+) ions on intense 2.7 μm emission in fluorophosphate glass is demonstrated. It is also found that the effective bandwidth of 2.0 μm emission due to Tm(3+) and Ho(3+) ions can reach as high as 196 nm. These results indicate that the advantageous spectroscopic characteristics of Er(3+)/Tm(3+)/Ho(3+) triply doped fluorophosphate glass together with the outstanding thermal properties may become an attractive host for the mid-IR solid state lasers.  相似文献

采用高温熔融法制备了掺杂不同比例Yb~(3+)和Tm~(3+)的硅酸盐玻璃。吸收光谱表明,Yb~(3+)和Tm~(3+)在300~1 100 nm的吸收过程彼此不干扰。研究了玻璃样品在980 nm LD泵浦下的上转换发光行为,结果表明:Yb~(3+)/Tm~(3+)在477 nm(1G4→3H6)发射强烈的上转换蓝光,在654 nm(1G4→3F4)发射较弱的红光,在795 nm(3H4→3H6)发射微弱的红外光。提高Yb~(3+)的比例均能够提高477 nm蓝光、654 nm红光和795 nm红外光的发射强度。研究分析了上转换发光强度与激光器泵浦功率之间的关系,结果表明上转换蓝光和红光发射均为三个光子过程,红外光发射为两个光子过程。分析了Yb~(3+)、Tm~(3+)在硅酸盐玻璃中上转换发光的机制。  相似文献

用高温熔融法制备了Er3+/Ce3+共掺新型碲酸盐玻璃(TeO2-Bi2O3-TiO2).采用差热分析方法研究了玻璃的热稳定性,测试并分析了不同Ce3+离子掺杂浓度下Er3+离子的吸收光谱、上转换光谱和荧光光谱特性.研究结果表明,制备的碲酸盐玻璃具有很好的热稳定性,玻璃析晶温度Tx与玻璃转变温度Tg之差(ΔT=Tx-Tg)达到了185℃,高于其它文献的报道;同时,Ce3+离子共掺引入的能量转移(Ce3+∶2F5/2+Er3+∶4I11/2→Ce3+∶2F7/2+Er3+∶4I13/2)有效地抑制了Er3+离子上转换发光并显著增强了1.53μm波段荧光强度,而发射截面随着Ce3+离子掺杂浓度相应增大.优异的热稳定性以及光谱性能揭示Er3+/Ce3+共掺碲酸盐玻璃是一种潜在的制备宽带掺铒光纤放大器的理想增益介质.  相似文献
