Inclusive photon energy spectrum and decay rate for the rare radiative decays of theB hadrons,B +X s (hereX s denotes hadrons with total strangeness quantum numberS=–1), are calculated in the standard theory of electroweak interactions, using theb quark decay model. The calculations have been done in the framework of an effective low-energy Lagrangian based on the gauge invariant operators of dimension 6. The large QCD effects, contained in the Wilson coefficients of these operators, are included in our approach. The shape of the photon energy spectrum and the branching ratio BR (B+X s ) are sensitive to the top quark mass.  相似文献

We report a new measurement of the pseudorapidity (eta) and transverse-energy ( E(T)) dependence of the inclusive jet production cross section in pp(macro) collisions at square root of s = 1.8 TeV using 95 pb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. The differential cross section d(2)sigma/(dE(T)d eta) is presented up to eta = 3, significantly extending previous measurements. The results are in good overall agreement with next-to-leading order predictions from QCD and indicate a preference for certain parton distribution functions.  相似文献

The work presents the predictions for the inclusive jet production in the two gluon exchange model for the LEP energies. It is shown that there is a region of the produced jet transverse momentap T where the two gluon contribution is the only important one. The two gluon exchange model is not able to reproduce the exponential slope of the jet inclusive production cross section, which seems to be an essential feature of the hadronic component of a photon.  相似文献

We calculate the next-to-leading corrections to the jet vertex which is relevant for the Mueller-Navelet-jets production in collisions and for the forward jet cross section in ep collisions. In this first part we present the results of the vertex for an incoming quark. We present a next-to-leading order calculation for the virtual photoproduction of one and two jets inep collisions. Soft and collinear singularities are extracted using the phase space slicing method. The collinear photon initial state singularity depends logarithmically on the mass of the virtual photon and is absorbed into the virtual photon structure function. An $\overline {MS} $ factorization scheme is defined similarly to the real photon case. Numerical results are presented for HERA conditions using the Snowmass jet definition for inclusive single jet and dijet cross sections. We study the dependence of these cross sections on the transverse energies and rapidities of the jets. Finally, we compare the ratio of the experimentally defined resolved and direct cross sections with recent ZEUS data as a function of the photon virtualityP 2.  相似文献

The large center-of-mass energies available to the heavy-ion program at the LHC and recent experimental advances at RHIC will enable QCD matter at very high temperatures and energy densities, that is, the quark-gluon plasma (QGP), to be probed in unprecedented ways. Fully-reconstructed inclusive jets and the away-side hadron showers associated with electroweak bosons, that is, tagged jets, are among these exciting new probes. Full jet reconstruction provides an experimental window into the mechanisms of quark and gluon dynamics in the QGP which is not accessible via leading particles and leading particle correlations. Theoretical advances in these exciting new fields of research can help resolve some of the most controversial points in heavy ion physics today such as the significance of the radiative, collisional and dissociative processes in the QGP and the applicability of strong versus weak coupling regimes to describe jet production and propagation. In this proceedings, I will present results on the production and subsequent suppression of high energy jets tagged with Z bosons in relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC and LHC energies using the Gyulassy-Levai-Vitev (GLV) parton energy loss approach.  相似文献

针对某新型导弹激光系统提出的小半径柱面镜,通过对传统柱面镜加工方法的综合分析比较,选择合适的加工方法、用不同抛光模层进行抛光比较,对多种分离器材料和分离器槽的长短、模具的摆动幅度等进行工艺试验,使小圆棒柱面镜的表面粗糙度最小值达到Ra 0.005 m,优于设计图纸表面粗糙度Ra 0.01 m的要求,后续再磨去多余的半个圆柱,形成并达到平面的技术要求,满足了此半圆柱状的小半径柱面镜全部技术条件,形成稳定批产加工能力。  相似文献

A jet algorithm based on the k-means clustering procedure is proposed which can be used for the invariant-mass reconstruction of heavy states decaying to hadronic jets. The proposed algorithm was tested by reconstructing e+e-→tt̄→6 jets and e+e-→W+W-→4 jets processes at using a Monte Carlo simulation. It was shown that the algorithm has a reconstruction efficiency similar to traditional jet-finding algorithms, and leads to 25% and 40% improvement of the top-quark and W mass resolution, respectively, compared to the kT (Durham) algorithm. In addition, it is expected that the peak positions measured with the new algorithm have smaller systematical uncertainty.  相似文献

Two-color photoionization of nickelocene molecules cooled in a supersonic jet is performed using a tunable nanosecond pulsed laser. The first stage of the multiphoton excitation is the transition from the highest occupied molecular orbital of nickelocene to the lowest Rydberg level. Conditions are found under which molecular ions (η 5-C5H5)2Ni+ are the only product of the multiphoton ionization in the one-color experiment. Irradiation of an excited molecule by an intense pulse of another laser increases significantly the yield of molecular ions. The dependence of the yield of (η5-C5H5)2Ni+ ions on the frequency of the second laser makes it possible to determine the adiabatic ionization potential of nickelocene as 6.138±0.012eV.  相似文献

We report a fully inclusive measurement of the flavor changing neutral current decay b --> sgamma in the energy range 1.8 GeV < or = E*gamma < or = 2.8 GeV, covering 95% of the total spectrum. Using 140 fb(-1), we obtain B(b --> sgamma) = (3.55+/-0.32(+0.30+0.11)(-0.31-0.07)) x 10(-4), where the errors are statistical, systematic, and from theory corrections. We also measure the first and second moments of the photon energy spectrum above 1.8 GeV and obtain (Egamma) = 2.292+/-0.026+/-0.034 GeV and (E2gamma) - (Egamma)2 = 0.0305+/-0.0074+/-0.0063 GeV2, where the errors are statistical and systematic.  相似文献

We use the quark recombination model of Das and Hwa to predict the inclusive meson spectra (π+, π?,K +,K ?) in the target fragmentation region for processes in which a large transverse momentum jet is produced by a nearly real photon. We find that the antiparticle ratios of such target jet mesons are sensitive to the type of process which has produced the largep t jet. By comparing the ratios found in photoproduction to those in deep inelastic scattering we point out that it is in principle possible to identify the presence of the Bethe-Heitler photoproduction subprocess. We conclude that the target jet remnants can contribute to separating the subprocesses responsible for the photoproduction of largep t jets.  相似文献

The energy spectrum of non-ideal bosean gas of small-radius excitons in superliquid state in molecular crystals is theoretically investigated within the scope of Bogoljubov's theory. The conditions for the possibility of existence of the superliquid state are discussed.
