Theories where the Higgs boson is a composite particle elegantly solve the hierarchy problem. This idea has been recently investigated in the framework of 5-dimensional warped models that, according to the AdS/CFT correspondence, have a 4-dimensional holographic interpretation in terms of strongly coupled field theories. We present a minimal model in which the Higgs arises as a pseudo-Goldstone boson and the electroweak symmetry is dynamically broken. We construct models in which the Higgs doublet whose vacuum expectation breaks SU(2) × U(10 is a bound state of massive strongly interacting fermions. The couplings of the composite Higgs to ordinary fermions are induced by heavy gauge boson exchange in the manner of extended technicolor. Other heavy gauge bosons generate a negative mass term for the Higgs.  相似文献

In the last years it has been shown that some properties of strongly coupled superconductors can be potentially described by classical general relativity living in one higher dimension,which is known as holographic superconductors.This paper gives a quick and introductory overview of some holographic superconductor models with s-wave,p-wave and d-wave orders in the literature from point of view of bottom-up,and summarizes some basic properties of these holographic models in various regimes.The competition and coexistence of these superconductivity orders are also studied in these superconductor models.  相似文献

We study Higgs boson production and decay in a certain class of little Higgs models with T-parity in which some T-parity partners of the Standard Model (SM) fermions gain their masses through Yukawa-type couplings. We find that the Higgs boson production cross section of a 120 GeV Higgs boson at the CERN LHC via gg fusion process at one-loop level could be reduced by about 45%, 35% and 20%, as compared to its SM prediction, for a relatively low new particle mass scale f=600, 700 and 1000 GeV, respectively. On the other hand, the weak boson fusion cross section is close to the SM value. Furthermore, the Higgs boson decay branching ratio into di-photon mode can be enhanced by about 35% in small Higgs mass region in certain case, for the total decay width of Higgs boson in the little Higgs model is always smaller than that in the SM.  相似文献

A search for axioelectric absorption of solar axions produced in the \(p + d \rightarrow {^3\mathrm {He}}+\gamma (5.5~\mathrm {MeV})\) reaction has been performed with a BGO detector placed in a low-background setup. A model-independent limit on the combination of axion–nucleon and axion–electron coupling constants has been obtained: \(| g_{Ae}\times g_{AN}^3|< 1.9\times 10^{-10}\) for 90 % confidence level. The constraint of the axion–electron coupling constant has been obtained for hadronic axion with masses of (0.1–1) MeV: \(|g_{Ae}| \le (0.96 - 8.2)\times 10^{-8}\) .  相似文献

The new particle around 125 GeV observed at the LHC is almost consistent with the standard model Higgs boson, except that the diphoton decay mode may be excessive. We summarize a number of possibilities. We propose to use the vector-boson fusion to test the underlying model for electroweak symmetry breaking. Using the well known dijet-tagging technique to single out the vector-boson fusion mechanism, we investigate potential of vector-boson fusion to discriminate a number of models suggested to give an enhanced inclusive diphoton production rate.  相似文献

In a class of extended Higgs structures containing two Higgs doublets, the decays of the Weinberg-Salam Higgs particle might be significantly different from those in the standard model because it has large branching ratios to decay into light Higgs bosons. We discuss the decays of the Weinberg-Salam Higgs particle with mass range from 7 GeV up to 1 TeV.  相似文献
