We have studied the intensity correlations between two orthogonally linearly polarized components of a laser field propagating through a resonant atomic medium. These experiments have been performed in a rubidium atomic vapor. We observe that the correlations between the orthogonally polarized components of the laser beam are maximal in the absence of a magnetic field. The magnitude of the correlations depends on the applied magnetic field, and the magnitude first decreases and then increases with increasing magnetic field. Minimal correlations and maximal rotation angles are observed at the same magnetic fields. The width of the correlation function is directly proportional to the excited state lifetime and inversely proportional to the Rabi frequency of laser field.  相似文献

We investigate the effects of a magnetic field with low to intermediate strength on several spectroscopic properties of the sodium atom. A model potential is used to describe the core of sodium, reducing the study of the system to an effective one-particle problem. All states with principal quantum numbers n = 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 are studied and analysed. A grid of twenty values for the field strength in the complete regime B = 0 - 0.02 a.u. is employed. The paper presents the esults of measuring the elastic parameters of an oscillatory system (coefficient of pondermotive elasticity, damping factor, and oscillation frequency) whose viscous inertial element is represented by a magnetic fluid confined in a tube by magnetic levitation in a strong magnetic field. The role of elasticity is played by the pondermotive force acting on thin layers at the upper and lower ends of the fluid column. It is shown that, by measuring the elastic oscillation frequencies of the magnetic fluid column, it is possible to develop a fundamentally new absolute method for determining the saturation magnetization of a magnetic colloid.  相似文献

Narrow-band cascade N-resonance formed in a Λ-system of rubidium atoms was investigated. Radiation of two continuous narrow-band lasers was used, one of which had a fixed frequency, while the second one was a probe laser. N-resonance may have a sub-natural width and exhibits enhancement of absorption. The behavior of N-resonance in an external magnetic field was examined with use of 87Rb atomic vapors.  相似文献

为研究核磁共振陀螺中加热机构对原子气室性能的影响,设计了5种典型加热方式。利用有限元分析软件ANSYS建立了原子气室的温度场模型,给出了原子气室表面的稳态温度场分布情况。同时设计了探测精度为0.01℃的测温电路,对原子气室表面不同位置的温度进行监控,获得了不同加热方式下原子气室表面的温度变化情况。将仿真和实验结果进行比较,发现误差在5%之内,验证了仿真模型的正确性。综合仿真和实验结果比较了不同加热方式下原子气室表面温度分布情况,获得了能够使原子气室表面温度分布最均匀的加热方式。  相似文献

The possibility of resonance double magnetic bremsstrahlung in the approximation of weakly excited electron states in a strong external magnetic field is analyzed. The differential probability of this process in the Breit-Wigner form is obtained. The probability of double magnetic bremsstrahlung (second-order process of perturbation theory) is compared with the probability of magnetic bremsstrahlung (first-order process of perturbation theory).  相似文献

Complex measurements of the following elastic-magnetic parameters of a magnetic fluid suspended by magnetic levitation within a horizontal tube in a strong magnetic field were performed: the oscillation frequency and decay coefficient; the static, ponderomotive, and dynamic elasticity coefficients; the fluid displacement under hydrostatic pressure; magnetization curve; and the magnetic field strength and gradient. Calculations based on a model of ponderomotive elasticity with correction for the resistance of a viscous fluid in motion and on the fluid column displacement for two magnetic fluid samples agree well with the experimental magnetization curve. The discussed technique holds promise for research into magnetophoresis and nanoparticle aggregation in magnetic colloids.  相似文献

Frequencies of phonon-plasmon coupled modes in a strong magnetic field were calculated. The calculations were performed in the long-wave approximation with regard to the electron damping and intrinsic lifetime of optical phonons. In an external magnetic field analytical properties are studied of the photon polarization tensor calculated as the electron-positron loop in the Furry picture. The polarization tensor is reexpressed as a sum over singular contributions coming from e+e?-pair photocreation in semidiscrete Landau states. The solutions of the photon dispersion equation (i.e., the one for the poles of the photon propagator) are described. The shape of the photon dispersion curve obtained is responsible for the effect of photon deflection by a strong magnetic field. No physically reliable solutions, apart from spurions, are found for the longitudinal photon mode. An infinite number of solutions with complex space-momentum are found, with no apparnet ghosts among them. An attempt is made to interprete the former in terms of possible bound and quasibound states of electron and positron pairs.  相似文献

We study the sign of resonances obtained in electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Resonances of both kinds—bright (corresponding to enhanced absorption) and dark (corresponding to reduced absorption)—are obtained when the frequency of a probe beam is scanned. The experimental results, presented earlier, use magnetic sublevels of a hyperfine transition in the D1 line of 87Rb along with a magnetic field of 27 G. The atoms are contained in a vapor cell at room temperature, and with anti-relaxation coating on the walls. A quantitative theoretical model, which reproduces the experimental results quite well, is presented for the first time. The model solves the density matrix of the sublevels involved, and uses two regions—one with both the light and magnetic field, and the second without light and just a magnetic field. This ability to have both bright and dark resonances promises applications in sub- and super-luminal propagation of light.  相似文献

As an improvement on our previous work [J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 45 085101(2012)], an accurate method combining the spheroidal coordinates and B-spline basis is applied to study the ground state 1σg and low excited states1σu, 1πg,u, 1δg,u, 2σg of the H+2in magnetic fields ranging from 109Gs(1 Gs = 10-4T) to 4.414 × 1013 Gs. Comparing the one-center method used in our previous work, the present method has a higher precision with a shorter computing time.Equilibrium distances of the states of the H+2in strong magnetic fields were found to be accurate to 3~5 significant digits(s.d.) and the total energies 6~11 s.d., even for some antibonding state, such as 1πg, which is difficult for the one-center method to give reliable results while the field strength is B ≥ 1013 Gs. For the large disagreement in previous works, such as the equilibrium distances of the 1πg state at B = 109 Gs, the present data may be used as a reference. Further, the potential energy curves(PECs) and the electronic probability density distributions(EPDDs) of the bound states 1σg, 1πu, 1δg and antibonding states 1σu, 1πg, 1δu for B = 1, 10, 100, 1000 a.u.(atomic unit) are compared, so that the different influences of the magnetic fields on the chemical bonds of the bound states and antibonding states are discussed in detail.  相似文献

The density response function of an electron gas in a strong magnetic field shows logarithmic singularities due to scattering across the Fermi surface. We analyze the parquet equations for the vertex function in leading logarithmic order for a general interaction potential. The parquet equations are solved for a special interaction potential (Schulz and Keiter model). The divergence of the density response function at extremely high fields is discussed in connection with a possible transition to a Wigner lattice.  相似文献
