A direct numerical simulation of the flow over a forward-facing step at a Reynolds number of 8000 based on the step height is presented. Calculations were performed using second-order finite volume discretisation in space on co-located meshes. A hybrid calculation approach based on Lighthill’s acoustic analogy is explained. Results of the simulation are intended to be used as a database for the validation of different discretisation schemes for the flow computation and simulation approaches for the calculation of sound radiation using a hybrid approach. Turbulent statistics are presented along with aeroacoustic source regions. Strong and weak forms of the aeroacoustic source term are presented and compared. For visualization purposes, the strong form is more suitable, whereas for the calculation of sound radiation both forms can be used. From the visualization of the aeroacoustic sources, it can be seen that they mainly concentrate on the region of the leading edge of the step and the shear layer close to the step.  相似文献

As we know, problems with boundary imperfections(notches or cracks)are the more importantone in practical fracture analysis.Frequently, these imperfections would appear in the boundaries ofthe bodies as a randomly distributed group, and under the loading circumstances would grow up to beunstable cracks which induces catastrophic fracture of the bodies. For right evaluation the fracturebehavior of the bodies with such boundary imperfections,it demands mathematical solutions for pro-blems with random boundary notches and/or cracks.  相似文献

The first part of this paper contains a polynomial yield condition of third order connected with evolution equations for material tensors of higher orders. They are formulated by formal generalisation of an approach by Danilov. The second part presents a possibility of taking into account the rotation of the yield surface as a result of a variable planar anisotropy (r-value) in sheet metal. This is done by an extension of the evolution equations, based on a quadratic yield function. The corresponding deformation law and the set of evolution equations are numerically integrated for selected loading paths in the subspaces σ1,σ2 and σ,τ. Some of the experimentally observed effects, such as the increasing curvature of the yield locus curve in the loading direction or the specific rotation of the yield surface, are correctly reproduced.  相似文献

This paper aims at analyzing the shapes of the bounded traveling wave solu- tions for a class of nonlinear wave equation with a quintic term and obtaining its damped oscillatory solutions. The theory and method of planar dynamical systems are used to make a qualitative analysis to the planar dynamical system which the bounded traveling wave solutions of this equation correspond to. The shapes, existent number, and condi- tions are presented for all bounded traveling wave solutions. The bounded traveling wave solutions are obtained by the undetermined coefficients method according to their shapes, including exact expressions of bell and kink profile solitary wave solutions and approxi- mate expressions of damped oscillatory solutions. For the approximate damped oscillatory solution, using the homogenization principle, its error estimate is given by establishing the integral equation, which reflects the relation between the exact and approximate so- lutions. It can be seen that the error is infinitesimal decreasing in the exponential form.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose a variation of the use of Murakami’s zig-zag theory for the analysis of laminated plates. The new theory accounts for through-the-thickness deformation, by considering a quadratic evolution of the transverse displacement with the thickness coordinate. The equations of motion and the boundary conditions are obtained by the Carrera’s Unified Formulation, and further interpolated by collocation with radial basis functions. This paper considers the analysis of static deformations, free vibrations and buckling loads on laminated composite plates.  相似文献

In this paper, outcomes of the study on the Bäcklund transformation, Lax pair, and interactions of nonlinear waves for a generalized (2 + 1)-dimensional nonlinear wave equation in nonlinear optics, fluid mechanics, and plasma physics are presented. Via the Hirota bilinear method, a bilinear Bäcklund transformation is obtained, based on which a Lax pair is constructed. Via the symbolic computation, mixed rogue–solitary and rogue–periodic wave solutions are derived. Interactions between the rogue waves and solitary waves, and interactions between the rogue waves and periodic waves, are studied. It is found that (1) the one rogue wave appears between the two solitary waves and then merges with the two solitary waves; (2) the interaction between the one rogue wave and one periodic wave is periodic; and (3) the periodic lump waves with the amplitudes invariant are depicted. Furthermore, effects of the noise perturbations on the obtained solutions will be investigated.

The working tube is a main part of vortex tube which the compressed fluid is injected into this part tangentially. An appropriate design of working tube geometry leads to better efficiency and performance of vortex tube. In the experimental investigation, the parameters are focused on the working tube angle, inlet pressure and number of nozzles. The effect of the working tube angle is investigated in the range of θ = 0–120°. The experimental tests show that we have an optimum model between θ = 0 and θ = 20°. The most objective of this investigation is the demonstration of the successful use of CFD in order to develop a design tool that can be utilized with confidence over a range of operating conditions and geometries, thereby providing a powerful tool that can be used to optimize vortex tube design as well as assess its utility in the field of new applications and industries. A computational fluid dynamics model was employed to predict the performances of the air flow inside the vortex tube. The numerical investigation was done by full 3D steady state CFD-simulation using FLUENT6.3.26. This model utilizes the Reynolds stress model to solve the flow equations. Experiments were also conducted to validate results obtained for the numerical simulation. First purpose of numerical study in this case was validation with experimental data to confirm these results and the second was the optimization of experimental model to achieve the highest efficiency.  相似文献
