The thermophysical properties of 1-alkylpyridinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [Cnpy][Tf2N] ionic liquids where n = 4, 8, 10, or 12 have been determined. Density ρ, and dynamic viscosity η, were determined at T = (293.15 to 353.15) K and refractive index nD, was measured at T = (293.15 to 333.15) K. Empirical correlations are proposed to represent the present experimental results. The values of the coefficient of thermal expansion were calculated from the experimental density values. The thermal decomposition temperature, Td was also determined using thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) at a heating rate of (10 and 20) K · min?1. 相似文献

The (liquid + liquid) equilibrium (LLE) data for two systems containing heptane, toluene, and 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([mpim][Tf2N]) or 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([amim][Tf2N]) ionic liquids (ILs) were determined at T = 313.2 K and atmospheric pressure. The effect of a double bond in an alkyl side chain in the imidazolium cation was evaluated in terms of selectivity and extractive capacity. The results show a decrease of the amount of toluene and heptane dissolved in the IL with the allyl group. Thus, the distribution ratios of toluene and heptane of [mpim][Tf2N] IL are higher than those of [amim][Tf2N] IL. On the other hand, the separation factor of the [amim][Tf2N] IL increases comparing to [mpim][Tf2N] IL. The NRTL model was used to correlate satisfactorily the experimental LLE data for the two studied ternary systems. 相似文献

In this work, the nucleophilicities of chloride, bromide, and iodide have been determined in the ionic liquids [bmim][N(Tf)(2)], [bm(2)im][N(Tf)(2)], and [bmpy][N(Tf)(2)] (where bmim = 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium, bm(2)im = 1-butyl-2,3-dimethylimidazolium, bmpy = 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium, and N(Tf)(2) = bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide). It was found that in the [bmim](+) ionic liquid, chloride was the least nucleophilic halide, but that changing the cation of the ionic liquid affected the relative nucleophilicities of the halides. The activation parameters DeltaH(), DeltaS(), and DeltaG() have been estimated for the reaction of chloride in each ionic liquid, and compared to a similar reaction in dichloromethane, where these parameters were found for reaction by both the free ion and the ion pair. 相似文献

(Liquid + liquid) equilibrium data for the ionic liquids 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMim][NTf2], 1-propyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [PMim][NTf2], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [BMim][NTf2], and 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [HMim][NTf2], mixed with ethanol and heptane were studied at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure. The ability of these ionic liquids as solvents for the extraction of ethanol from heptane was evaluated in terms of selectivity and solute distribution ratio. Moreover, density and refractive index values over the miscible region for the ternary mixtures were also measured at T = 313.15 K. Finally, the experimental data were correlated with the Non Random Two Liquids (NRTL) and UNIversal QUAsi Chemical (UNIQUAC) thermodynamic models, and an exhaustive comparison with available literature data of the studied systems was carried out. 相似文献

Ionic liquids (ILs) and carbon dioxide (CO2) systems have unique phase behavior that has been applied to applications in reactions, extractions, materials, etc. Detailed phase equilibria and modeling are highly desired for their further development. In this work, the (vapor + liquid) equilibrium, (vapor + liquid + liquid) equilibrium, and (liquid + liquid) equilibrium of n-alkyl-3-methyl-imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide ionic liquids with CO2 were measured at temperatures of (298.15, 323.15, 343.15) K and pressure up to 25 MPa. With a constant anion of bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)amide, the n-alkyl chain length on the cation was varied from 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium ([EMIm][Tf2N]), 1-hexyl-3-methyl-imidazolium ([HMIm][Tf2N]), to 1-decyl-3-methyl-imidazolium ([DMIm][Tf2N]). The effects of the cation on the phase behavior and CO2 solubility were investigated. The longer alkyl chain lengths increase the CO2 solubility. The Peng–Robinson equation of state with van der Waals 2-parameter mixing rule with estimated IL critical properties were used to model and correlate the experimental data. The models correlate the (vapor + liquid) equilibrium and (liquid + liquid) equilibrium very well. However, extrapolation of the model to much higher pressures (>30 MPa) can results in the prediction of a mixture critical point which, as of yet, has not been found in the literature. 相似文献

The osmotic and activity coefficients and vapour pressures of binary mixtures containing 1-propanol, or 2-propanol and imidazolium-based ionic liquids with bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide as anion (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, C2MimNTf2, 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, C3MimNTf2, and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, C4MimNTf2) were determined at T = 323.15 K using the vapour pressure osmometry technique. The experimental osmotic coefficients were correlated using the extended Pitzer model modified by Archer and the MNRTL model, obtaining standard deviations lower than 0.033 and 0.064, respectively. The mean molal activity coefficients and the excess Gibbs free energy for the mixtures studied were calculated from the parameters of the extended Pitzer model modified by Archer. Besides the effect of the alkyl-chain of the cation, the effect of the anion can be assessed comparing the experimental results with those previously obtained for imidazolium ionic liquids with sulphate anions. 相似文献

Densities of pure 1-methyl-1-propylpiperidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [C3mpip][NTf2], and its mixtures with anisole or acetophenone were measured with a high-pressure densimeter at temperatures from 298.15 K to 348.15 K and pressures up to 50 MPa. The Tait equation was employed to represent pressure effect on the isothermal densities. The experimental results reveal that the excess volumes of (anisole + [C3mpip][NTf2]) and (acetophenone + [C3mpip][NTf2]) are all negative over the entire experimental conditions. In addition to an empirical generalized equation, the density data were also correlated quantitatively with the Flory–Orwoll–Vrij (FOV) and the Schotte equations of state. 相似文献

Using imidazole as the starting material, the synthesis of a new bicyclic ionic liquid [b-3C-im][NTf2] is described. Except for the alkylation reaction in the second step (40% yield) of this four-step synthesis of [b-3C-im][NTf2], others were all high yielding reactions (85-94% isolated yields). We investigated intrinsic reactivity of this and other imidazolium-based ionic liquids and found that, under strongly basic conditions (KOD in CD3OD/D2O (1:1) solution), the new ionic liquid was stable to solvent deuterium isotope exchange while the previously reported [bdmim][NTf2] and [bdmim][PF6] ionic liquids were 50% deuterium exchanged at its C-2 methyl in 30 min at ambient temperature. At the same experimental condition, the most commonly employed [bmim][PF6] ionic liquid was deuterium exchanged instantaneously at its C-2 hydrogen. In the absence of bases (CD3OD/D2O = 1:1), only [bmim][PF6] was deuterium exchanged (50% within 1 h) and other ionic liquids gave no detectable exchanges even after one week at ambient temperature. It is therefore concluded that the new [b-3C-im][NTf2] ionic liquid is far more chemically stable than previously reported [bmim][PF6], [bdmim][NTf2], and [bdmim][PF6]. 相似文献

Two novel ionic liquids based on serine [Cnmim][Ser] (n = 3, 4) were prepared by the neutralization method and their structures were confirmed by 1H NMR spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The density, surface tension, and refractive index of the two ILs were measured from T = (298.15 to 338.15) K. Since these ILs [Cnmim][Ser] (n = 3, 4) could form strong hydrogen bonds with water, small amount of water in the ILs is difficult to removed by common methods. In order to eliminate the effect of trace of water, the standard addition method (SAM) was applied to these measurements. On the basis of the experimental data, the speed of sound (μ), thermal expansion coefficient (α), molecular volume (Vm), standard entropy (S0298), entropy of surface (Sa), energy of surface (Ea), parachor (P), molar polarization (Rm), and polarization coefficient (αp) were calculated, and the relationship between each of these properties of [Cnmim][Ser] (n = 3, 4) and temperatures was discussed. According to the additivity, the average value of anionic parachor, P−(ave), was 180.81 for [Ser]−. At the same time, the surface tension of these serine ionic liquids could be estimated from their parachor and refractive index. The estimated values of the surface tension and the corresponding experimental data were almost identical. 相似文献

The molecular dynamics of the room-temperature ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (Bmim Tf2N) confined in porous glass is studied by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxometry and diffusometry and is compared with the bulk dynamics over a wide temperature range. The molecular reorientation processes for anions and cations alike are found to be significantly affected by the presence of the glass interface at high temperatures. In this respect, the ionic liquid behaves similarly to polar liquids where proton NMR relaxation is governed by reorientations mediated by translational displacements (RMTDs). This process becomes less significant towards lower temperatures when the characteristic translational correlation times of the ions approach a timescale comparable with those of the RMTD process, and the relaxation dispersions in bulk and in confinement become similar below a temperature corresponding to about 1.2Tg, a value where the onset of dynamic heterogeneity has been observed before. The self-diffusion coefficient, on the other hand, is found to be strongly reduced than the bulk within the accessible temperature range of 248 K and above and is significantly slower than expected from the tortuosity effect, suggesting that ion–surface interactions affect the macroscopic properties. 相似文献

Vapor pressures for a series of 1-n-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (alkyl = ethyl, butyl, hexyl, and octyl) ionic liquids (ILs) were measured by the integral effusion Knudsen method. Thermodynamic parameters of vaporization for ILs were calculated from these data. The absence of decomposition of ILs during the vaporization process was proved by IR spectroscopy. Synthesis of new ionic liquids (ILs) viz. 1-butyl-3-cyanopyridinium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}imide, [BCN3Py][NTf2], 1-hexyl-3-cyanopyridinium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}imide, [HCN3Py][NTf2], 1-hexyl-4-cyanopyridinium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}imide, [HCN4Py][NTf2], and 1-octyl-3-cyanopyridinium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}imide, [OCN3Py][NTf2] were performed. The specific basic characterization of new compounds by NMR spectra, elementary analysis, water content and glass transition temperature as well as melting temperature, enthalpy of fusion and decomposition of compounds TG/DTA determined by the differential scanning calorimetry, DSC is presented. The heat capacity was measured at three temperatures (298.15, 323.15, and 353.15) K and at pressure 0.1 MPa. The effect of temperature on the density and viscosity is reported over the temperature range from (293.15 to 363.15) K and at 0.1 MPa. The density and viscosity correlation for these systems was provided by an empirical polynomial. From the density–temperature dependence, the isothermal expansion coefficient (volume expansivity), α, was calculated. The surface tension of pure ionic liquids was measured at 0.1 MPa at five temperatures (298.15, 308.15, 318.15, 328.15, and 338.15) K. The surface thermodynamic functions such as surface entropy and enthalpy, critical temperatures according to the Eötvös and Guggenheim definition and the total surface energy of the ILs studied were derived from the temperature dependence of the surface tension values. The parachor and speed of sound for pure ionic liquids were described within a range of temperature from (298.15 to 338.15) K. A qualitative analysis on these quantities in terms of molecular interactions is reported. 相似文献

Thermodynamic properties of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide ([C4mim]NTf2) ionic liquid have been studied by adiabatic calorimetry in the temperature range of 5 to 370 K. This compound has been found to form crystal, liquid, and glass. The temperature and enthalpy of fusion for [C(4)mim]NTf(2) have been determined to be T(fus) = 270.22 +/- 0.02 K and Delta(fus)H = 23.78 +/- 0.04 kJ.mol(-1), respectively. The heat capacity of crystalline [C(4)mim]NTf(2) in the T range of 205 to 255 K may vary by a few percent, subject to the procedure of the crystal preparation. The glass transition temperature for [C(4)mim]NTf(2) has been found to be T(g) = 181.5 +/- 0.1 K. On the basis of the results of DFT quantum chemical calculations, the experimental vibrational spectra, and the available literature data, thermodynamic properties of [C(4)mim]NTf(2) in the ideal-gas state have been calculated by the statistical thermodynamic methods. The entropy values for the gaseous compound obtained from the experimental data and the calculations are in satisfactory agreement. 相似文献

The thermophysical properties of 1-hexyl-3-methyl imidazolium based hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs); with tetrafluoroborate (BF4), hexafluorophosphate (PF6), and bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (Tf2N) anions, namely density ρ (298.15 to 348.15) K, dynamic viscosity η (288.2 to 348.2) K, surface tension σ (298.15 to 338) K, and refractive index nD (302.95 to 332.95) K have been measured. The coefficients of thermal expansion αp values were calculated from the experimental density data using an empirical correlation. The thermal stability of all ILs is also investigated at two different heating rates (10 and 20) °C · min−1) using thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The experimental results presented in this study reveal that the choice of anion type shows the most significant effect on the properties of ILs. The liquid structure of 1-methyl-4-cyanopyridinium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl}imide, a prototypical ionic liquid containing an electron-withdrawing group on the cation, has been investigated at 368 K. Experimental neutron scattering combined with empirical potential structure refinement analysis of the data and classical molecular dynamics simulations have been used to probe the liquid structure in detail. Both techniques generated highly consistent results that provide valuable validation of the force fields and refinement approaches. A significant degree of apparent charge ordering is found in the liquid structure, although the nonspherical shape of the ions results in interpenetration of cations into the first shell of adjacent cations, with much shorter closest contact distances than the averaged center-of-mass cation-cation and cation-anion separations. 相似文献

By a simple DTA system, the glass transition temperatures of the quaternary ammonium type ionic liquid, {N,N-diethyl-N-methyl-N-(2-methoxyethyl) ammonium iodide, [DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures after quick pre-cooling were measured as a function of water concentration (x mol% H2O). Results were compared with the previous results of {[DEME][BF4] + H2O} mixtures in which double glass transitions were observed in the water concentration region of (16.5 to 30.0) mol% H2O. Remarkably, we observed the double glass transition phenomenon in {[DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures too, but the two-Tgs regions lie towards the water-rich side of (77.5 to 85.0) mol% H2O. These clearly reflect the difference in the anionic effect between and I? on the water structure. The end of the glass-formation region of {[DEME][I] + H2O} mixtures is around x = 95.0 mol% H2O, and this is comparable to that of {[DEME][BF4] + H2O} mixtures (x = 96.0 mol% H2O). 相似文献
