Nonuniform continuity of the solution map to the two component Camassa–Holm system

We prove that the solution map of the two-component Camassa–Holm system is not uniformly continuous as a map from a bounded subset of the Sobolev space H^s(T)×H^r(T)$H^s(\mathbb{T})\times H^r(\mathbb{T})$ to C([0,1],H^s(T)×H^r(T))$C([0,1],H^s(\mathbb{T})\times H^r(\mathbb{T}))$ when s?1$s?1$ and r?0$r?0$. We also demonstrate the nonuniform continuous property in the continuous function space C¹(T)×C¹(T)$C^1(\mathbb{T})\times C^1(\mathbb{T})$.     

The topological structure of fuzzy sets with sendograph metric

For a non-degenerate convex subset Y of the n  -dimensional Euclidean space Rⁿ${\mathbb{R}}^n$, let F(Y)$\mathbb{F}(Y)$ be the family of all fuzzy sets of Rⁿ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ which are upper semicontinuous, fuzzy convex and normal with compact supports contained in Y  . We show that the space F(Y)$\mathbb{F}(Y)$ with the topology of sendograph metric is homeomorphic to the separable Hilbert space ?²${?}^2$ if Y   is compact; and the space F(Rⁿ)$\mathbb{F}({\mathbb{R}}^n)$ is also homeomorphic to ?²${?}^2$.     

Gaussian bounds for higher-order elliptic differential operators with Kato type potentials

Let P(D)$P(D)$ be a nonnegative homogeneous elliptic operator of order 2m   with real constant coefficients on Rⁿ${\mathbb{R}}^n$ and V   be a suitable real measurable function. In this paper, we are mainly devoted to establish the Gaussian upper bound for Schrödinger type semigroup e^−tH$e^{-tH}$ generated by H=P(D)+V$H=P(D)+V$ with Kato type perturbing potential V  , which naturally generalizes the classical result for Schrödinger semigroup e^−t(Δ+V)$e^{-t(\mathrm{\Delta }+V)}$ as V∈_K2(Rⁿ)$V\in K_2({\mathbb{R}}^n)$, the famous Kato potential class. Our proof significantly depends on the analyticity of the free semigroup e^−tP(D)$e^{-tP(D)}$ on L¹(Rⁿ)$L^1({\mathbb{R}}^n)$. As a consequence of the Gaussian upper bound, the L^p$L^p$-spectral independence of H is concluded.     

Classification of invariant valuations on the quaternionic plane

We describe the orbit space of the action of the group Sp(2)Sp(1)$\mathrm{Sp}(2)\mathrm{Sp}(1)$ on the real Grassmann manifolds _Grk(H²)${\mathrm{Gr}}_k({\mathbb{H}}^2)$ in terms of certain quaternionic matrices of Moore rank not larger than 2. We then give a complete classification of valuations on the quaternionic plane H²${\mathbb{H}}^2$ which are invariant under the action of the group Sp(2)Sp(1)$\mathrm{Sp}(2)\mathrm{Sp}(1)$.     

The Dirichlet problem for the fractional Laplacian: Regularity up to the boundary

We study the regularity up to the boundary of solutions to the Dirichlet problem for the fractional Laplacian. We prove that if u   is a solution of (−Δ)^su=g${(-\mathrm{\Delta })}^{s}u=g$ in Ω  , u≡0$u\equiv 0$ in Rⁿ\Ω${\mathbb{R}}^n\backslash \Omega$, for some s∈(0,1)$s\in (0,1)$ and g∈L^∞(Ω)$g\in L^{\infty }(\Omega )$, then u   is C^s(Rⁿ)$C^s({\mathbb{R}}^n)$ and u/δ^s_|Ω$u/{\delta }^s{|}_{\Omega }$ is C^α$C^{\alpha }$ up to the boundary ∂Ω   for some α∈(0,1)$\alpha \in (0,1)$, where δ(x)=dist(x,∂Ω)$\delta (x)=\mathrm{dist}(x,\partial \Omega )$. For this, we develop a fractional analog of the Krylov boundary Harnack method.     

Star-generating vectors of Rudin's quotient modules

The purpose of this paper is to study a class of quotient modules of the Hardy module H²(Dⁿ)$H^2({\mathbb{D}}^n)$. Along with the two variables quotient modules introduced by W. Rudin, we introduce and study a large class of quotient modules, namely Rudin's quotient modules of H²(Dⁿ)$H^2({\mathbb{D}}^n)$. By exploiting the structure of minimal representations we obtain an explicit co-rank formula for Rudin's quotient modules.     

Asymptotic profiles for wave equations with strong damping

We consider the Cauchy problem in Rⁿ${\mathbf{R}}^n$ for strongly damped wave equations. We derive asymptotic profiles of these solutions with weighted L^1,1(Rⁿ)$L^{1,1}({\mathbf{R}}^n)$ data by using a method introduced in [9] and/or [10].     

A theorem on measures in dimension 2 and applications to vortex sheets

We find conditions under which measures belong to H⁻¹(R²)$H^{-1}({\mathbb{R}}^2)$. Next we show that measures generated by the Prandtl, Kaden as well as Pullin spirals, objects considered by physicists as incompressible flows generating vorticity, satisfy assumptions of our theorem, thus they are (locally) elements of H⁻¹(R²)$H^{-1}({\mathbb{R}}^2)$. Moreover, as a by-product, we prove an embedding of the space of Morrey type measures in H⁻¹$H^{-1}$.     

Scattering theory for nonlinear Schrödinger equations with inverse-square potential

We study the long-time behavior of solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger equations with some critical rough potential of a|x|⁻²$a{|x|}^{-2}$ type. The new ingredients are the interaction Morawetz-type inequalities and Sobolev norm property associated with _Pa=−Δ+a|x|⁻²$P_a=-\mathrm{\Delta }+a{|x|}^{-2}$. We use such properties to obtain the scattering theory for the defocusing energy-subcritical nonlinear Schrödinger equation with inverse square potential in energy space H¹(Rⁿ)$H^1({\mathbb{R}}^n)$.
