Abstract Sparteine, the tetracyclic saturated amine alkaloid, is highly fluorescent in n-hexane solution (Φf= 0.64; ζ= 63 ns) and has a large Stokes shift [λmax (abs) = 203 nm; λmax (fluor) = 325 nm]. Its isomer, α-isosparteine, has similar properties: Φf= 0.55; ζf= 50 ns; λmax (fluor) = 338 nm. Oxidized derivatives, such as lupanine, thermopsine, and α-diplospartyrine, are weakly fluorescent. Based on a comparison with spectroscopic and photophysical properties of the monoamine, quinolizidine, it is concluded that the excitation energy is delocalized over the two N-atoms in starteine and a-isosparteine. The self quenching rate constant for sparteine, ca. 1 times 107M-1 s-1, is about 100 times smaller than that for quinolizidine, consistent with excited state derealization. The significant fluorescence quenching in lupanine is rationalized by the fact that N-methyl-2-piperidone mfe/molecularly quenches the fluorescence of quinolizidine at nearly the diffusion controlled rate in -hexane. Comparisons are made with the fluorescence properties of other diamines such as N, N'-dimethylbispidine and N, N'-disubstituted piperazines.  相似文献

Abstract— Photolysis of naphthalene on the surface of SiO2 under an atmosphere of air produces phthalic acid as the only major photoproduct, accounting for 49%o of the consumed naphthalene. Photolysis on Al2O3 also produces phthalic acid, in 31% yield. Photolysis of 1 -methylnaphthalene on SiO2 proceeds under similar conditions to produce 2-acetylbenzoic acid (35%) as the major photoproduct with the production of a small amount of I-naphthaldchyde (6%). 1-Cyanonaphthalene does not photooxidize under similar conditions. The presence of oxygen is necessary for the photodecomposition of naphthalene and 1-methylnaphthalene to proceed. Superoxide formed from the photolysis of naphthalene at the SiO2/air interface is readily observed by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. In the absence of naphthalene no superoxide is observed. A mechanism involving electron transfer from the S1 state of the naphthalene to O2 is proposed on the basis of these observations and related literature precedent.  相似文献

本文以正硅酸乙酯(TEOS)为原料,水和乙醇为溶剂,盐酸和氨水为催化剂,采用溶胶-凝胶,水热合成和低温冷冻干燥等工艺,制备了SiO2气凝胶,研究了pH值、TEOS浓度及焙烧温度对气凝胶的比表面积、孔径分布的影响。结果表明:在碱性条件下,制得的气凝胶比表面积较大,孔径较窄。气凝胶在较高温度下,比表面积有所下降,孔径略微变粗。  相似文献

Abstract— The spectra and molar absorbances of the HO2 and O2- free radicals have been redetermined in aqueous formate solutions by pulse and stopped-flow radiolysis as well as by 60Co gamma-ray studies. The extinction coefficients at the corresponding maxima and 23°C are 225= 1400 ± 80 M -1 cm-1 and 225= 2350 ± 120 M -1 cm-1 respectively. Reevaluation of earlier published rate data in terms of the new extinction coefficients yielded the following rate constants for the spontaneous decay of HO2 and O2-: K Ho2+HO2= (8.60 ± 0.62) × 105 M -1 s-1; K Ho2+O2-= (1.02 ± 0.49) × 108 M -1 s-1; K Ho2+O2- < 0.35 M -1 s-1. For the equilibrium HO2→ O2-+ H+ the dissociation constant is K Ho2= (2.05 ± 0.39) × 10-5 M or p K HO2= 4.69 ± 0.08. G (O2-) has been evaluated as a function of formate concentration.  相似文献

Abstract— The absorption, fluorescence and phosphorescence spectra along with the phosphorescence decay function of indole perturbed by various amounts of halocarbons have been studied in a 1:1 ethanol-ether glass at 77 K. For carbon tetrachloride. chloroform, halothane and methylene chloride used as quenchers. the biexponential nature of the phosphorescence decay prompted us to assume the existence of a triplet state complex (exciplex) between indole and the halocarbons. On the other hand. propyl bromide gives rise to a non-exponential decay and to an increase in the phosphorescence intensity suggesting the occurrence of a normal external spin-orbital coupling interaction between indole and the propyl bromide molecule.  相似文献

We have studied the hydrogenase-catalyzed production of H, when either its natural electron mediator cytochrome c3 (c3) or the artificial mediator methyl viologen (MV) was reduced by illumination of proflavin (PF) in the presence of ethylenediaminetetraacetate (EDTA). The reduction rates of MV and c3 were comparable at equivalent concentrations of PF, taking into account the four redox sites of c3. However, when the concentration of c3 exceeded that of PF, the reduction rate decreased. We explain this by light quenching. In the H2-producing system, MV was more efficient than c3 as electron mediator when the initial reaction rates were compared. However, under certain conditions with MV, the rate of H2 production decreased rapidly with time of illumination, whereas with c3 it consistently remained stable. Possible reasons for this difference are discussed.
Severe inactivation of hydrogenase was observed in the absence of the primary electron donor EDTA. It is concluded that this inactivation is caused by the excited state of PF  相似文献

Abstract— Guanosine-2-14C and guanosine-8-14C were subjected, under similar environmental conditions, to oxidation either by radiofrequency-discharge-generated singlet oxygen or by a methylene-blue-sensitized photodynamic reaction. The reaction products in both cases were compared chromatographically. The product distributions were not identical, indicating differing modes of oxidation in these two systems. It is suggested that both Type I and Type II oxidation mechanisms are operative in the photodynamic system, whereas only Type II-like reactions occur in the radio-frequency-discharge system.  相似文献

Abstract A continuous argon laser has been used to study the self-sensitized photooxidation of potassium rubrene-2,3,8,9-tetracarboxylate in oxygen-saturated H2O and D2O. An analysis of the data obtained in concentrated solutions leads to an unexpected high value of the ratio of 1O2 lifetimes in D2O and H2O, T d 2o/T h 2o =17 ± 1. Results obtained in diluted aqueous solutions are interpreted in terms of a re-encounter of 1O2 and ground state substrate molecules generated in the same triplet—triplet annihilation act.  相似文献

Hypocrellin A, a peryloquinone derivative, has recently been isolated from the sacs of the fungus Hypocrella bambusae. This pigment, in combination with phototherapy, has been used in human medicine to cure various skin diseases. The generation of singlet oxygen during photoirradiation of Hypocrellin A (HA) was detected as an oxidation product of a sterically hindered amine (tetramethylpiperidine oxide; TEMPO) by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopic techniques. Azide inhibited the EPR signal intensity in a dose-dependent manner with a quenching rate constant of 3.86 x 10(8) M-1s-1 in ethanol. Deuterated solvents, known to increase the lifetime of singlet oxygen, augmented the EPR signal intensity. The rate of production of singlet oxygen was dependent not only upon the concentration of HA and the time of irradiation but also on the oxygen content of the reaction mixture. The hyperfine splitting constant (aN = 16.3 G) and g-value (g = 2.0056) of the photoproduct of TEMP-singlet oxygen and TEMPO were found to be identical. This indicates that the nitroxide species detected by EPR spectroscopy generated by reacting TEMP with photogenerated 1O2 is TEMPO. The rate constant (kT) for the reaction of singlet oxygen with TEMP to form TEMPO radical was found to be 5.3 x 10(5) M-1s-1.  相似文献

Abstract— Laser flash photolysis of trans -[Rh(dppe)2X2][PF6] (X=Br and I; dppe=bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane) in CH2Cl2 or CH3CN produces the d7 Rh(II) radicals, [Rh(dppe)2X]+, and halogen atoms. The kinetics of the disappearance of [Rh(dppe)2X]+ radicals in CH2Cl2 or CH3CN were mixed order: H-atom abstraction from solvent to produce the rhodium hydrides, [RhH(dppe)2X][PF6], and Rh/X recombination. In the poor H-atom donor solvent, benzonitrile, Rh/Br recombination was observed to be uncomplicated by competing H-atom abstraction. The hydride complexes [RhH(dppe)2X][PF6], formed by H-atom abstraction were completely characterized by 31P{1H}-NMR, 1H-NMR, and mass specrometry. Cyclohexene was used as an effective trap for photogenerated Br atoms and yielded bromocyclohexane and 3-bromocyclohexene in a relative yield, 1:9. The photochemical mechanism is discussed in light of the transient absorbance and trapping studies.  相似文献

An initial investigation on the roughness and frictional properties of the self-assembled thin films frompolyelectrolytes is presented. Star-shaped C_(60)-poly(styrene-maleic anhydride) was successful prepared. The multilayer thinfilms have been fabricated on mica with diazoresin as the cationic polyelectrolyte and hydrolyzed star-shaped C_(60)-poly(styrene-maleic anhydride) as the anionic polyelectrolyte via self-assembly technique. The crosslinking structure of thefilms is formed from the conversion of ionic bond to covalent bond after UV irradiation. AFM/FFM investigations provideinsights into the roughness and frictional properties on a microscale. The roughness depends strongly on the number of filmlayers in the case of C_(60)-containing films. The frictional forces of the films exhibited a well behaved non-linear relationshipin response to the change of applied load. It supports the prediction of enhanced load-bearing property of C_(60)-containing thinfilms.  相似文献

Abstract— 2-Nitropropane dioxygenase (EC 1. 13. 11) of the yeast Hansenula mrakii catalyzes the oxygenative denitrification of 2-nitropropane as follows:

The enzyme is significantly inhibited by superoxide dismutase and various scavengers for superoxide such as cytochrome c , epinephrine, thiols and polyhydric phenols. The scavengers added to the reaction mixture were oxidized or reduced. The addition of superoxide dismutase and the omission of 2-nitropropane or oxygen prevented the oxidation and the reduction of the scavengers. The enzyme catalyzes the formation of nitrite from 2-nitropropane by KO2 added anaerobically.
One mole of NADH is bound per mole of the enzyme and predominantly the pro-R hydrogen of bound NADH is transferred to superoxide formed enzymatically or provided externally. The enzyme shows incomplete stereospecificity for hydrogen transfer from NADH.  相似文献

Abstract
In purple bacteriorhodopsin sheets adsorbed onto the phospholipid-impregnated collodion film, electrogenic stages are identified correlating with decays of the M and N(P)-type intermediates. It is concluded that both M N and N bR transitions are electrogenic.
The M decay is shown to be of a complex kinetics. In purple sheets, the lower the light intensity, the higher the rate of "slow M" decay. Such a dependence, which is absent from monomeric bacteriorhodopsin in proteoliposomes and from Triton X-100-solubilized protein, may be explained by the inhibiting effect of a light-induced conformation change in a bacteriorhodopsin molecule upon the M decay in some other bacteriorhodopsin molecules within the same sheet.
The light intensity-independent "slow M" decay in solubilized bacteriorhodopsin is shown to correlate with the decay of the N intermediate and H+ uptake after the flash. In contrast to "fast M", "slow M" is pH dependent, closely resembling in this respect the N intermediate. It is suggested that there is a fast light-independent equilibration between M and N so that "slow M" represents the portion of the M pool that monitors the N concentration. The M N equilibrium is assumed to be involved in the effect of the light-induced electric field on the M decay. No direct effect of light on the equilibrium was found.  相似文献

Abstract— Although the mechanism of bioluminescent reactions in various species, such as fireflies, ostracod crustaceans ( Cypridina ), sea pansies ( Renilla ), and the deep-sea shrimp Oplophorus , are thought to involve dioxetanone intermediates, studies reported in the past from different laboratories have included widely different experimental results, most likely due to various factors including the effects of contaminating CO2. With the improved technique employed in the present study, bioluminescent reactions of the firefly and Cypridina in 18O2 gas resulted in an incorporation of over 75% of 18O into one oxygen of the product CO2. with a reproducibility within a few per cent. When 13CO2. instead of the product CO2 of the bioluminescent reaction, was studied in an H218O medium, the exchange of one oxygen of 13CO2 with H2O was 64%. and the effect of contaminant CO2 amounted to 1418% of the total CO2. These results suggest that every molecule of CO2 formed in the bioluminescent reactions of the firefly and Cypridina had intially contained 1 oxygen atom derived from O2.  相似文献
