The structure, bonding and energetics of B(2)AlH(n)(m) (n = 3-6, m = -2 to +1) are compared with corresponding homocyclic boron, aluminum analogues and BAl(2)H(n)(m) using density functional theory (DFT). Divalent to hexacoordinated boron and aluminum atoms are found in these species. The geometrical and bonding pattern in B(2)AlH(4)(-) is similar to that for B(2)SiH(4). Species with lone pairs on the divalent boron and aluminum atoms are found to be minima on the potential energy surface of B(2)AlH(3)(2-). A dramatic structural diversity is observed in going from B(3)H(n)(m) to B(2)AlH(n)(m), BAl(2)H(n)(m) and Al(3)H(n)(m) and this is attributable to the preference of lower coordination on aluminum, higher coordination on boron and the higher multicenter bonding capability of boron. The most stable structures of B(3)H(6)(+), B(2)AlH(5) and BAl(2)H(4)(-) and the trihydrogen bridged structure of Al(3)H(3)(2-) show an isostructural relationship, indicating the isolobal analogy between trivalent boron and divalent aluminum anion.  相似文献

A systematic density functional theory and wave function theory investigation on the geometrical and electronic properties of AlAu n 0/-(n=2-4) clusters has been performed in this work. AlAu n-anions prove to possess ground states of the V-shaped C2v AlAu2 - , umbrella-shaped C3v AlAu3- , and perfect tetrahedral T d AlAu4- , while their neutrals favor the V-shaped C2v AlAu2 , perfect planar triangular D3h AlAu3 , and severely distorted C s AlAu4 , respectively. Aluminum aurides appear to be analogous to the corresponding aluminum hydrides, expect C s AlAu4 . Molecular orbitals (MOs) analyses also support this conclusion. Detailed orbital analyses indicate that Au 6s makes 94-96% and Au 5d makes 6-4% contribution to the Au-based orbitals in Al-Au bonds, which is smaller than the BAu n0/- series, partially reflecting the relativistic effect of gold. The one-electron detachment energies of the anions and characteristic stretching vibrational frequencies of Al-Au bonds between 100-400 cm -1 have been calculated to facilitate future experimental characterization of these clusters.  相似文献

The LiHe+ n , the NaHe+ n , and the MgHe+ n complexes with n=1, 2, 3, 4 were studied using ab initio calculations with the MP2/6-311+G(3df, 3pd) method. The complexes are found to be stable. For the n=1 complexes, previous results were available and the calculations performed are in good agreement with those results. This lends credibility to the results obtained for the complexes with higher n.  相似文献

An ab initio molecular dynamics method was used to compare the ionic dissolution of soluble sodium chloride (NaCl) in water clusters with the highly insoluble silver chloride (AgCl). The investigations focused on the solvation structures, dynamics, and energetics of the contact ion pair (CIP) and of the solvent-separated ion pair (SSIP) in NaCl(H(2)O)(n) and AgCl(H(2)O)(n) with cluster sizes of n = 6, 10 and 14. We found that the minimum cluster size required to stabilize the SSIP configuration in NaCl(H(2)O)(n) is temperature-dependent. For n = 6, both configurations are present as two distinct local minima on the free-energy profile at 100 K, whereas SSIP is unstable at 300 K. Both configurations, separated by a low barrier (<10 kJ mol(-1)), are identifiable on the free energy profiles of NaCl(H(2)O)(n) for n = 10 and 14 at 300 K, with the Na(+)/Cl(-) pairs being internally solvated in the water cluster and the SSIP configuration being slightly higher in energy (<5 kJ mol(-1)). In agreement with the low bulk solubility of AgCl, no SSIP minimum is observed on the free-energy profiles of finite AgCl(H(2)O)(n) clusters. The AgCl interaction is more covalent in nature, and is less affected by the water solvent. Unlike NaCl, AgCl is mainly solvated on the surface in finite water clusters, and ionic dissolution requires a significant reorganization of the solvent structure.  相似文献

The theoretical investigations were performed on the reaction mechanisms for the title reactions CH(3)C(O)CH(3) + Cl --> products (R1), CH(3)C(O)CH(2)Cl + Cl --> products (R2), CH(3)C(O)CHCl(2) + Cl --> products (R3), and CH(3)C(O)CCl(3) + Cl --> products (R4) by ab initio direct dynamics approach. Two different reaction channels have been found: abstract of the H atom from methyl (--CH(3)) group or chloromethyl (--CH(3-n)Cl(n)) group of chloroacetone and addition of a Cl atom to the carbon atom of the carbonyl group of chloroacetone followed by methyl or chloromethyl eliminations. Because of the higher potential energy barrier, the contribution of addition-elimination reaction pathway to the total rate constants is very small and thus this pathway is insignificant in atmospheric conditions. The rate constants for the H-abstraction reaction channels are evaluated by using canonical variational transition state theory incorporating with the small-curvature tunneling correction. Theoretical overall rate constants are in good agreement with the available experimental values and decrease in the order of k(1) > k(2) > k(3) > k(4). The results indicate that for halogenated acetones the substitution of halogen atom (F or Cl) leads to the decrease in the C--H bond reactivity and more decrease of reactivity is caused by F-substitution.  相似文献

A direct dynamics study is carried out for the hydrogen abstraction reactions Cl + CH(4-n)F(n) (n = 1-3) in the temperature range of 200-1,000 K. The minimum energy paths (MEPs) of these reactions are calculated at the BH&H-LYP/6-311G(d,p) level, and the energies along the MEPs are further refined at the QCISD(T)/6-311+G(2df,2p) and QCISD(T)/6-311+G(d,p) (single-point) level. The rate constants obtained by using the improved canonical variational transition state theory incorporating small-curvature tunneling correction (ICVT/SCT) are in good agreement with the available experimental results. It is shown that the vibrational adiabatic potential energy curves for these reactions have two barriers, a situation similar to the analogous reactions CH(3)X+Cl (X=Cl, Br). The theoretical results show that for the title reactions the variational effect should not be neglected over the whole considered temperature range, while the small-curvature tunneling effect is only important in the lower temperature range. The effects of fluorine substitution on the rate of this kind of reactions are also examined.  相似文献

(n)J(Se,Se) (n=1-4) nuclear couplings between Se atoms were analyzed by using molecular orbital (MO) theory as the first step to investigating the nature of bonded and nonbonded (n)J(Se,Se) interactions between Se atoms. The values were calculated by employing Slater-type triple xi basis sets at the DFT level, which were applied to structures optimized with the Gaussian 03 program. The contribution from each occupied MO (psi(i)) and psi(i)-->psi(a) (psi(a)=unoccupied MO) transition was evaluated separately. 1J(Se,Se) was calculated for the MeSeSeMe model compound, which showed a typical dependence on the torsion angle (phi(C(Me)SeSeC(Me))). This dependence explains the small values (< or =64 Hz) of 1Jobsd(Se,Se) observed for RSeSeR' and large values (330-380 Hz) of 1Jobsd(Se,Se) observed for 4-substituted naphtho[1,8-c,d]-1,2-diselenoles, which correspond to synperiplanar diselenides. The HOMO-->LUMO and HOMO-1-->LUMO transitions contribute the most to 1J(Se,Se) at phi=0 and 180 degrees to give large values of 1J(Se,Se), whereas various transitions contribute and cancel each other out at phi=90 degrees to give small values of 1J(Se,Se). Large 4Jobsd(Se,Se) values were also observed in the nonbonded Se...Se, Se...Se=O, and O=Se...Se=O interactions at naphthalene 1,8-positions. The Fermi contact (FC) term contributes significantly to 4J(Se,Se), whereas the paramagnetic spin-orbit (PSO) term contributes significantly to 1J(Se,Se). 2J(Se,Se) and 3J(Se,Se) were analyzed in a similar manner and a torsional angular dependence was confirmed for 3J(Se,Se). Depending on the structure, the main contribution to (n)J(Se,Se) (n=2, 3) is from the FC term, with a lesser contribution from the PSO term. Analysis of each transition enabled us to identify and clearly visualize the origin and mechanism of the couplings.  相似文献

A systematic density functional theory and wave function theory investigation on the geometrical and electronic structures of the electron‐deficient diboron aurides B2Au (n = 1, 3, 5) and their mixed analogues B2HmAu (m + n = 3, 5) has been performed in this work. Ab initio theoretical evidences strongly suggest that bridging gold atoms exist in the ground states of C2v B2Au?(1A1), C2 B2Au(1A), C2v B2Au3(2B1), C2v B2Au(1A1), and Cs B2Au5(2A″), which all prove to possess a B? Au? B three‐center‐two‐electron (3c‐2e) bond. For B2HmAu (m + n = 3, 5) mixed anions, bridging B? Au? B units appear to be favored in energy over bridging B? H? B, as demonstrated by the fact that the Au‐bridged C2v B2H2Au? (1A1), Cs B2HAu (1A′), and C1 B2HAu (1A) lie clearly lower than their H‐bridged counterparts Cs B2H2Au? (1A′), C2 B2HAu (1A), and C2v B2HAu (1A1), respectively. Orbital analyses indicate that Au 6s makes about 92–96% contribution to the Au‐based orbitals in these B‐Au‐B 3c‐2e interactions, whereas Au 5d contributes 8–4%. The adiabatic and vertical detachment energies of the concerned anions have been calculated to facilitate their future experimental characterizations. The results obtained in this work establish an interesting 3c‐2e bonding model (B? Au? Optimized structures, with all real frequencies, of superalkali superhalides (Li(3))(+)(SH)(-) (SH=LiF(2), BeF(3), and BF(4)), are obtained, for the first time, at the B3LYP/aug-cc-pVDZ and MP2/aug-cc-pVDZ computational levels. These superalkali superhalides possess three characteristics that are significantly different from normal alkali halides. 1) They have a variety of structures, which come from five bonding mode types: edge-face, edge-edge, face-face, face-edge, and staggered face-edge. We find that the bonding mode type closely correlates with the Li(3)-SH bond energy. 2) The valence electrons on the Li(3) ring are pushed out by the (SH)(-) anion, and become excess electrons, conferring alkalide or electride characteristics on these Li(3)-SH species, depending on the bonding mode type. 3) The highest occupied molecular orbital of each Li(3)-SH species is a doubly occupied delocalized sigma bonding orbital on the Li(3) ring, which indicates its aromaticity. It is noticeable that the maximum negative nucleus-independent chemical shift value (about -10 ppm) moves out from the center of the Li(3) ring, owing to repulsion by the SH(-) anion. We find that these superalkali superhalides are not only complicated "supermolecules", but are also a new type of alkalide or electride, with aromaticity.  相似文献

The electronic properties of α‐LixV2O5 (x=0.5 and 1) are investigated using first principle calculations based on density functional theory with local density approximation. Different intercalation sites for Li in the V2O5 lattices are considered, showing different influences on the electronic structures of LixV2O5. The lowest total energy is found when Li is only intercalated along the c axis between two bridging oxygen ions of sequential V2O5 layers. The intercalation of Li into V2O5 does not change the electron transition property of V2O5, which is an indirect band gap semiconductor, but leads to a reduction of vanadium ions and an increase of the Fermi level of LixV2O5 arising from the electron transfer from the Li 2 s orbital to the initially empty conduction band of the V2O5 host.  相似文献
