The issue of and ππ S-wave amplitude is addressed using decays of D-mesons. Model-independent measurements of the phases of the π + π + and K - π + S-wave amplitude from D +π - π + π + and D +K - π + π + decays are discussed. The result indicates a deviation from the phase of the K - π + S-wave amplitude obtained by scattering experiments. This could be interpreted as an indication of the presence of 3-body final-state interaction, or in other words, that the phases from production and scattering process cannot be directly compared.  相似文献

Abstact: High-spin states in 183Re have been studied using the 176Yb(11B,4n) reaction at 52 and 57 MeV. Two high-K bands have been observed directly by a time-correlated γ-γ coincidence measurement. One of the bands is built on an isomeric K π=(25/2)+ state at E x= 1908 keV with a half-life of 0.82(2) ms. The other band, assigned as K π=(29/2) at E x= 2739 keV, decays to the (25/2)+ band. These bands are interpreted as three-quasiparticle structures, π(5/2)+[402] &⊗ν(9/2)+[624] ⊗ν(11/2)+[615] for the (25/2)+ band and π(9/2)[514] ⊗ν(9/2)+[624] ⊗ν(11/2)+[615] for the (29/2) band. The K π= (29/2) band becomes strongly Coriolis mixed with increasing spin and is gradually changing into a low-K s-band structure. Received: 20 April 1998  相似文献

The reaction γγ → π+π-π0 with quasi-real photons is studied with a total integrated luminosity of 663pb^-1, collected by the L3 detector at LEP at center-of-mass energies from 183 to 209GeV. The results of an energy-dependent partial wave analysis in the mass region 1.1≤M+π-π0)≤2.2GeV are presented. The reaction is dominated by a2(1320) formation. A strong signal consistent with the first radial excitation of the isovector tensor state, a2(1700), is present and confirms the previous L3 observation. Its two-photon partial width is found to be Br(3π) = 0.37+0.12-0.08keV, the relative branching ratio of ρ(770)π to f2(1270)π is 3.4±0.4. For all observed states the product of γγ partial width and 3π branching ratios is measured.  相似文献

The helicity dependence of the total cross-section and the invariant-mass distributions in the (pπ±) and (π+π-) final states for the γppπ+π- reaction have been measured for the first time at incident photon energies from 400 to 800MeV. The measurement was performed with the large-acceptance detector DAPHNE at the tagged photon beam facility of the MAMI accelerator in Mainz. Although this channel is found to be predominantly excited by the intermediate production of a Δπ state, both the measured unpolarized and the helicity-dependent observables are generally not well described by the existing theoretical models.  相似文献

The isospin-violating decay f 1(1285) → π+π-π0 has been studied at the VES facility. This study is based on the statistics acquired in π- Be interactions at 27, 36.6 and 41 GeV/c in the diffractive reaction π- N → (f 1π-)N . The f 1(1285) → π+π-π0 decay is observed. The preliminary ratio of decay probabilities BR(f 1(1285) → π+π-π0) to BR(f 1(1285) → ηπ+π-). BR(η → γγ) is ∼ 2% . Original article based on material presented at HADRON 2007.  相似文献

In most investigations the Roper resonance is sensed only very indirectly via complex partial-wave analyses. We find indications for its excitation in the invariant nπ+ mass spectrum of the ppnpπ+ reaction at M ≈ 1360 MeV with a width of ≈ 150 MeV . The values fit very favorably to the most recent phase shift results as well as to the observations at BES. In the near-threshold two-pion production ppppπ0π0 , where the Roper excitation and its subsequent decays via the routes N * → Δπ → Nππ and N *Nσ are the only dominant processes, we find its direct decay into the Nσ channel to be the by far dominating decay process --in favor of a monopole excitation of the Roper resonance.  相似文献

Effects due to the non-pointlike behaviour of pions in the process e + e -π + π - γ can arise for hard photons in the final state. By means of a Monte Carlo event generator, which also includes the contribution of the direct decay φπ + π - γ, we estimate these effects in the framework of the resonance perturbation theory. We consider angular cuts used in the KLOE analysis of the pion form factor at threshold. A method to reveal the effects of the non-pointlike behaviour of pions in a model-independent way is proposed.  相似文献

The goal of the DIRAC experiment at CERN is the lifetime measurement of pionium (π + π atom). Its lifetime is mainly defined by the charge-exchange process π + π π 0 π 0. The value of the lifetime in the ground state is predicted in the framework of chiral perturbation theory with high precision: τ 1S = (2.9 ± 0.1) × 10−15 s. The method used by DIRAC is based on analysis of π + π -pair spectra with small relative momenta in their center-of-mass system in order to find out the signal from pionium ionization (breakup) in the target. Pioniums are produced in proton-nucleus collisions and have relativistic velocities (γ > 10). For fixed values of the pionium momentum and the target thickness, the probability of pionium ionization in the target depends on its lifetime in a unique way; thus, the pionium lifetime can be deduced from the experimentally defined probability of pionium ionization. On the basis of ionization cross sections of pionium with target atoms, we perform the first direct calculation of the pionium ionization probability in the target. The Λ(1520)-resonance has been recently studied in a unitarized coupled-channel formalism with πΣ(1385), KΞ(1530), ˉN and πΣ as constituents blocks. We provide a theoretical study of the predictions of this model in physical observables of the pppK+K-p and pppK+π0π0Λ reactions. In particular, we show that the ratio between the π0π0Λ and K-p mass distributions can provide valuable information on the ratio of the couplings of the Λ(1520)-resonance to πΣ(1385) and ˉN than the theory predicts. Calculations are done for energies which are accessible in an experimental facility like COSY at Jülich or the developing CSR facility at Lanzhou.  相似文献

The present status of the thermal model is reviewed and the recently discovered sharp peak in the K ++ ratio is discussed in this framework. It is shown that the rapid change is related to a transition from a baryon-dominated hadronic gas to a meson-dominated one. Further experimental tests to clarify the nature of the transition are discussed. In the thermal model the corresponding maxima in the Ξ/π and Ω/π ratios occur at slightly different beam energies.  相似文献

We investigate the reaction ppda 0 + at COSY and SIS energies together with accompanying background reactions and inclusive particle yields. The a 0 + is considered as a usual u quark model state with two decay channels a 0 +K + and a 0 +↦π+η. Calculated cross-sections for a 0 + production as well as for the corresponding non-resonant channels ppdK + and ppdπ+η are compared. Especially, in case of the final channel dπ+η, high statistics measurements are necessary to extract the a 0 + signal from the high non-resonant background. A new study of the dip observed at 1.9GeV by the Fermilab experiment E687 in diffractive photoproduction of 3π +3π - is presented. The E687 and the BABAR data on the annihilation cross-section σ(e + e -→3π +3π -), obtained with initial-state radiation, are fitted all together. The fit function is based on a simple mixing mechanism that explains the manifestation of a resonance as a dip. Possible interpretations in terms of hybrids and tetraquark states are considered.  相似文献

The unitarization of the amplitude for the decay process K 10 → π+π and allowance for the rescattering of final-state pions in the decay process K + → π+π+π make it possible to evaluate, by using the parameters extracted from data on K → 2π decays, the K + → π+π+π decay width. The result agrees with the experimental width value at a level of a few percent. Allowance for corrections for higher order terms of the momentum expansion of the amplitude for the decay process K + → π+π+π leads to the slope-parameter value of g ++−th = 0.2182, which agrees with its experimental counterpart, g ++−exp = 0.2154 ± 0.0035.  相似文献

We study the stability and the properties of the ground state of neutral systems containing up to four positively charged bosons and their antiparticles. Examples are the di-pionium molecule (π + π )2, which is almost identical to the positronium molecule (e + e )2, the tri-pionium (π + π )3, and the quadri-pionium (π + π )4 molecules. We briefly compare our results on the energy to those on the large-N limit of (π + π ) N . We also show that the annihilation probability can be calculated accurately with simple wave functions when one uses the generalized Schwinger rule. The reaction γd↦π+nn is calculated up to order χ5/2 in chiral perturbation theory, where χ denotes the ratio of the pion to the nucleon mass. Special emphasis is put on the role of nucleon recoil corrections that are the source of contributions with fractional power in χ. Using the known near-threshold production amplitude for γp↦π+n as the only input, the total cross-section for γd↦π+nn is described very well. A conservative estimate suggests that the theoretical uncertainty for the transition operator amounts to 3% for the computed amplitude near threshold.  相似文献

The exclusive reactions γpK *0Σ+(1189) and γpK 0π0Σ+(1189) , leading to the p0 final state, have been measured with a tagged photon beam for incident energies from threshold up to 2.5GeV. The experiment has been performed at the tagged photon facility of the ELSA accelerator (Bonn). The Crystal Barrel and TAPS detectors were combined to a photon detector system of almost 4π geometrical acceptance. Differential and total cross-sections are reported. At energies close to the threshold, a flat angular distribution has been observed for the reaction γpK 0π0Σ+ suggesting dominant s -channel production. Σ*(1385) and higher-lying hyperon states have been observed. An enhancement in the forward direction in the angular distributions of the reaction γpK *0Σ+ indicates a t -channel exchange contribution to the reaction mechanism. The experimental data are in reasonable agreement with recent theoretical predictions.  相似文献

The single-pion production reactions ppdπ+, ppnpπ+ and ppppπ0 were measured at a beam momentum of 0.95GeV/c ( T p ≈ 400MeV) using the short version of the COSY-TOF spectrometer. The implementation of a central calorimeter provided particle identification, energy determination and neutron detection in addition to time-of-flight and angle measurements. Thus, all pion production channels were recorded with 1-4 overconstraints. The total and differential cross-sections obtained are compared to previous data and theoretical calculations. Main emphasis is put on the discussion of the ppπ0 channel, where we obtain angular distributions different from previous experimental results, however, partly in good agreement with recent phenomenological and theoretical predictions. In particular, we observe very large anisotropies for the π0 angular distributions in the kinematical region of small relative proton momenta revealing there a dominance of proton spinflip transitions associated with π0 s and d partial waves and emphasizing the important role of π0 d-waves.  相似文献

In the framework of factorization we study direct CP violation in the decays of bottom hadrons containing a strange quark or a charm quark, H b f ρ 0(ω)→f π + π (H b is the bottom hadron and f is the product hadron) including the effect of ρω mixing. We find that the CP violating asymmetry can be enhanced greatly via the ρω mixing mechanism when the invariant mass of the π + π pair is in the vicinity of the ω resonance. For the processes associated with bd transitions, e.g. , , B c D π + π , B c D *− π + π , Ξ b 0Λ π + π , and Ω b Ξ π + π , the maximum CP violating asymmetries can reach about −84%, while for the processes associated with bs transitions, e.g. , , B c D s π + π , B c D s *− π + π , Ξ b Ξ π + π , and Ω b Ω π + π , the CP violating asymmetries can be enhanced to about 95%. Furthermore, taking ρω mixing into account we calculate the b-hadron decay branching ratios. We also discuss the possibility to observe the predicted CP violating asymmetries at the LHC.  相似文献
