A series of novel half-sandwich M(I) and M(III) complexes (M = Co, Rh) bearing the N-heterocyclic carbene ligand 1,3-dimesitylimidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) have been prepared and characterized. Thus, (eta5-C(5)R(5))M(IMes)(C(2)H(4))(M = Co, Rh; R = H, Me) were obtained from the corresponding bis(ethene) complexes (eta5-C(5)R(5))M(C(2)H(4))(2), except for CpRh(IMes)(C(2)H(4)) which was prepared via the novel 16-electron Rh(I) compound Rh(IMes)(C(2)H(4))(2)Cl. The carbonyl compounds (eta5-C(5)R(5))Co(IMes)(CO)(R = H, Me) were synthesized by thermal CO substitution of (eta5-C(5)R(5))Co(CO)(2). A diamagnetic, apparently 16-electron Co(III) compound [CpCo(IMes)I](+)[I(3)(-)] was obtained from CpCo(IMes)(CO) and I(2). Finally, Co(III) and Rh(III) complexes CpCo(IMes)Me(2) and Cp*Rh(IMes)Me(2) were prepared by methylation of [CpCo(IMes)I](+)[I(3)(-)], and ligand exchange at Cp*Rh(Me(2)SO)Me(2), respectively. The molecular structures of CpCo(IMes)(CO), CpRh(IMes)(C(2)H(4)), Cp*Rh(IMes)(C(2)H(4)), and Cp*Rh(IMes)Me(2) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Steric and electronic factors imposed by the strongly donating and sterically demanding IMes ligand are discussed on the basis of X-ray crystallographic, NMR, and IR spectroscopic analyses. Very poor correlations are found between values for (1)J(Rh-C(carbene)) and dRh-C(carbene) data for Rh(i) N,N-heterocyclic carbene complexes including literature data and this work.  相似文献

The transition metal acyl compounds [Co(L)(CO)3(COMe)] (L = PMe3, PPhMe2, P(4-Me-C6H4)3, PPh3 and P(4-F-C6H4)3), [Mn(CO)5(COMe)] and [Mo(PPh3)(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)2(COMe)] react with B(C6F5)3 to form the adducts [Co(L)(CO)3(C{OB(C6F5)3}Me)] (L = PMe3, 1, PPhMe2, 2, P(4-Me-C6H4)3, 3, PPh3, 4, P(4-F-C6H4)3), 5, [Mn(CO)5(C{OB(C6F5)3}Me)] 6 and [Mo(eta(5)-C5H5)(PPh3)(CO)2(C{OB(C6F5)3}Me)], 7. Addition of B(C6F5)3 to a cooled solution of [Mo(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)3(Me)], under an atmosphere of CO gave [Mo(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)3(C{OB(C6F5)3}Me)] 8. In the presence of adventitious water, the compound [Co{HOB(C6F5)3}2{OP(4-F-C6H4)3}2] 9, was formed from [Co(P(4-F-C6H4)3)(CO)3(C{OB(C6F5)3}Me)]. The compounds 4 and 9 have been structurally characterised. The use of B(C6F5)3 as a catalyst for the CO-induced migratory-insertion reaction in the transition metal alkyl compounds [Co(PPh3)(CO)3(Me)], [Mn(CO)5(Me)], [Mo(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)3(Me)] and [Fe(eta(5)-C5H5)(CO)2(Me)] has been investigated.  相似文献

The first neutral, [IrClF(2)(NHC)(COD)] and [IrClF(2)(CO)(2)(NHC)] (NHC = IMes, IPr), and cationic, [IrF(2)py(IMes)(COD)][BF(4)] and [IrF(2)L(CO)(2)(NHC)][BF(4)] (NHC = IMes, L = PPh(2)Et, PPh(2)CCPh, py; NHC = IPr, L = py), NHC iridium(III) fluoride complexes, have been synthesised by the xenon difluoride oxidation of iridium(I) substrates. The stereochemistries of these iridium(III) complexes have been confirmed by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy in solution and no examples of fluoride-trans-NHC arrangements were observed. Throughout, CO was found to be a better co-ligand for the stabilisation of the iridium(III) fluoride complexes than COD. Attempts to generate neutral trifluoroiridium(III) complexes, [IrF(3)(CO)(NHC)], via the ligand substitution reaction of [IrF(3)(CO)(3)] with the free NHCs were unsuccessful.  相似文献

The compound [Fe(eta-C5H5)(CO)2(Me)] reacts thermally with N-heterocyclic carbenes (L) to give both alkyl, [Fe(eta-C5H5)(L)(CO)(Me)], and acyl, [Fe(eta-C5H5)(L)(CO)(COMe)], derivatives. The reaction temperature has been shown to affect the product distribution. The alkyl and acyl derivatives exist in an equilibrium that is more easily perturbed than in the tertiary phosphine analogues. DFT studies on the reactivity of [Fe(eta-C5H5)(CO)2(Me)] with PH3 and dihydroimidazole-2-ylidene (IH) have shown that CO exchange is energetically favoured for IH, and energetically disfavoured for PH3. The products of CO-induced migratory insertion, [Fe(eta-C5H5)(L)(CO)(COMe)], are more stable than the parent alkyl, [Fe(eta-C5H5)(L)(CO)(Me)], compounds. This stabilisation is larger when L = IH than when L = PH3. Stabilisation of the transition state by agostic interactions was seen in both instances, but this was significantly more pronounced for L = IH.  相似文献

The ambient temperature reaction of the N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) 1,3-dimesitylimidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) and 1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene (IDipp) with the triruthenium cluster [Ru(3)(CO)(12)], in a 3 : 1 stoichiometric ratio, results in homolytic cleavage of the cluster to quantitatively afford the complexes [Ru(CO)(4)(NHC)] (; NHC = IMes, ; NHC = IDipp). Reaction of the 2-thione or hydrochloride precursors to IMes, i.e. S[double bond, length as m-dash]IMes and IMes.HCl, with the same triruthenium cluster affords the complexes [Ru(4)(mu(4)-S)(2)(CO)(9)(IMes)(2)] () and [Ru(4)(mu(4)-S)(CO)(10)(IMes)(2)] () (3 : 1 and 2 : 1 reaction), and [{Ru(mu-Cl)(CO)(2)(IMes)}(2)] () (3 : 1 reaction) respectively. By contrast, the complex [Ru(3)(mu(3)-S)(2)(CO)(7)(IMeMe)(2)] (), where IMeMe is 1,3,4,5-tetramethylimidazol-2-ylidene, is the sole product of the 2 : 1 stoichiometric reaction of S[double bond, length as m-dash]IMeMe with [Ru(3)(CO)(12)]. Compounds -, and have been structurally characterised by single crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The reactions of the N-heterocyclic carbene 1,3-dimesitylimidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) with Ga[GaCl(4)], "GaI", InCl(2) and GaBr(3) have been examined. All reactions using a low valent gallium or indium starting material led to species of the form [{MX(2)(IMes)}(2)], where M = Ga, X = Cl (1), I (2); M = In, X = Cl (3), with disproportionation and loss of gallium metal in the case of 2. Reaction of IMes with gallium tribromide yields the air and moisture stable complex [GaBr(3)(IMes)] (4), which has been used as a precursor to the mixed bromohydrides [GaBrH(2)(IMes)] (5) and [GaBr(2)H(IMes)] (6) by (i) ligand redistribution with [GaH(3)(IMes)], (ii) hydride-bromide exchange with triethylsilane, and (iii) alkylation with (n)butyllithium followed by β-hydride elimination (6 only). Attempts to prepare 1, or monovalent analogues such as [{GaCl(IMes)}(n)], by thermally induced reductive elimination of dihydrogen from the chlorohydride congeners of 5 and 6 resulted in isolation of the known compounds [IMesCl][Cl] (IMesCl = 1,3-dimesityl-2-chloroimidazolium), and/or 1,3-dimesityl-2-dihydroimidazole, and gallium metal. Preliminary photochemical NMR spectroscopy and catalytic studies of 5 and 6 aimed at reductive dehydrogenation under milder conditions are reported. Compounds 1 and 4 have been characterised by single crystal X-ray structure determination.  相似文献

A series consisting of a tungsten anion, radical, and cation, supported by the N-heterocyclic carbene 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) and spanning formal oxidation states W(0), W(I), and W(II), has been synthesized, isolated, and characterized. Reaction of the hydride CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H with KH and 18-crown-6 gives the tungsten anion [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-)[K(18-crown-6)](+). Electrochemical oxidation of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) in MeCN (0.2 M (n)Bu(4)N(+)PF(6)(-)) is fully reversible (E(1/2) = -1.65 V vs Cp(2)Fe(+?/0)) at all scan rates, indicating that CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is a persistent radical. Hydride transfer from CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H to Ph(3)C(+)PF(6)(-) in MeCN affords [cis-CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+)PF(6)(-). Comproportionation of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) with [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+) gives the 17-electron tungsten radical CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?). This complex shows paramagnetically shifted resonances in the (1)H NMR spectrum and has been characterized by IR spectroscopy, low-temperature EPR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction. CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is stable with respect to disproportionation and dimerization. NMR studies of degenerate electron transfer between CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) and [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) are reported. DFT calculations were carried out on CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H, as well as on related complexes bearing NHC ligands with N,N' substituents Me (CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)H) or H (CpW(CO)(2)(IH)H) to compare to the experimentally studied IMes complexes with mesityl substituents. These calculations reveal that W-H homolytic bond dissociation energies (BDEs) decrease with increasing steric bulk of the NHC ligand, from 67 to 64 to 63 kcal mol(-1) for CpW(CO)(2)(IH)H, CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)H, and CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H, respectively. The calculated spin density at W for CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(?) is 0.63. The W radicals CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)(?) and CpW(CO)(2)(IH)(?) are calculated to form weak W-W bonds. The weakly bonded complexes [CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)](2) and [CpW(CO)(2)(IH)](2) are predicted to have W-W BDEs of 6 and 18 kcal mol(-1), respectively, and to dissociate readily to the W-centered radicals CpW(CO)(2)(IMe)(?) and CpW(CO)(2)(IH)(?).  相似文献

Neutral dimeric metallocyclic complexes of type [M(2)(L(1))(2)B(n)] (where M = cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II), L(1) is the doubly deprotonated form of a 1,3-aryl linked bis-beta-diketone ligand of type 1,3-bis(RC(O)CH(2)C(O))C(6)H(4) (R=Me, n-Pr, t-Bu) and B is pyridine (Py) or 4-ethylpyridine (EtPy)) have been synthesised, adding to similar complexes already reported for copper(II). New lipophilic ligand derivatives with R = octyl or nonyl were also prepared for use in solvent extraction experiments. Structural, electrochemical and solvent extraction investigations of selected metal complex systems from the above series are reported, with the X-ray structures of [Co(2)(L(1))(2)(Py)(4)] x 2.25CHCl(3) x 0.5H(2)O (R=Pr), [Co(2)(L(1))(2)(EtPy)(4)] (R=t-Bu), [Ni(2)(L(1))(2)(EtPy)(4)] (R=t-Bu), [Zn(2)(L(1))(2)(EtPy)(2)] (R=Me) and [Zn(2)(L(1))(2)(EtPy)(4)] (R=t-Bu) being presented. The electrochemistry of H(2)L(1) (R=t-Bu) and of [Fe(2)(L(1))(3)], [Co(2)(L(1))(2)(Py)(4)], [Ni(2)(L(1))(2)(Py)(4)], [Cu(2)(L(1))(2)] and [Zn(2)(L(1))(2)(Py)(2)] has been examined. Oxidative processes for the complexes are dominantly irreversible, but several examples of quasireversible behaviour were observed and support the assignment of an anodic process, seen between +1.0 and +1.6 V, as a metal-centred oxidation. The reduction processes for the respective metal complexes are not simple, and irreversible in most cases. Solvent extraction studies (water/chloroform) involving variable concentrations of metal, bis-beta-diketone and heterocyclic base have been performed for cobalt(II) and zinc(II) using a radiotracer technique to probe the stoichiometries of the extracted species in each case. Synergism was observed when 4-ethylpyridine was added to the bis-beta-diketone ligand in the chloroform phase. Competitive extraction studies show a clear uptake preference for copper(II) over cobalt(II), nickel(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II).  相似文献

New homoscorpionate ligands containing a 3-benzyl substituent, hydrotris(3-benzyl-5-methylpyrazol-1-yl)borate, Tp(Bn,Me), and hydrotris(3-benzyl-4-phenylpyrazol-1-yl)borate, Tp(Bn,4Ph), have been synthesized, and the dynamic behavior of a number of metal complexes was studied by NMR. Structures of the complexes Tl[Tp(Bn,Me)], 1, Tl[Tp(Bn,4Ph)], 2, Co[Tp(Bn,Me)][Tp(Np)], 3, Mo[Tp(Bn,Me)](CO)(2)NO, 4, Co[Tp(Bn,4Ph)][Tp], 5, and Mo[Tp(Bn,Me)](CO)(2)(eta(3)-methallyl), 6, were determined by X-ray crystallography. In the Tp(Bn,Me) ligand, the benzyl group is freely rotating and provides less steric hindrance to the coordinated metal than a neopentyl group, but steric hindrance is increased in the Tp(Bn,4Ph) ligand, where the rotation of the benzyl substituent is restricted by the 4-phenyl substituent.  相似文献

The synthesis, fluxionality and reactivity of the heterobimetallic complex [FeRu(CO)2(mu-CO)2(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)] are described. Complex exhibits enhanced photolytic reactivity towards alkynes compared to its homometallic analogues, forming the dimetallacyclopentenone complexes [FeRu(CO)(mu-CO){mu-eta]1:eta3-C(O)CR"CR'}eta]-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)]( R'= R"= H; R'= R"= CO2Me; R'= H, R"= CMe2OH). Prolonged photolysis with diphenylethyne gives the dimetallatetrahedrane complex [FeRu(mu-CO)(mu-eta2:eta2-CPhCPh)(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)], which contains the first iron-ruthenium double bond. Complexes containing a number of organic fragments can be synthesised using , and . Heating a solution of gave the alkenylidene complex [FeRu(CO)2(mu-CO){mu-eta]1:eta2-C=C(CO2Me)2}(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)] through an unusual methylcarboxylate migration. Protonation and then addition of hydride to gives the ethylidene complex [FeRu(CO)2(mu-CO)(mu-CHCH3)(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)] via the ionic vinyl species [FeRu(CO)2(mu-CO)(mu-eta]1:eta2-CH=CH2)(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)][BF4]. Compound exhibits cis/trans isomerisation at room temperature. Protonation of dimetallacyclopentenone complexes gives the allenyl species [FeRu(CO)2(mu-CO)(mu-eta1:eta2-CH=C=CMe2)(eta-C5H5)(eta-C5Me5)][BF4]. Compound exist as three isomers, two cis and one trans. The two cis isomers are shown to be interconverting by sigma-pi isomerisation. The solid state structures of these compounds were established by X-ray crystallography and are discussed.  相似文献

The disproportionation of dicobalt octacarbonyl induced by the free carbene 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene (IMes) and the X-ray characterization of the cyclohexane solvate of the resulting cobalt carbonyl N-heterocyclic carbene salt, [Co(CO)3(IMes)2]+[Co(CO)4]-.1/4C6H12, is reported. The crystal structure represents the first example of a [Co(CO)3(L)2][Co(CO)4] disproportionate salt reported to date.  相似文献

The tris(3-tert-butyl-5-methylpyrazolyl)hydroborato zinc hydroxide complex [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]ZnOH is protonated by (C(6)F(5))(3)B(OH(2)) to yield the aqua derivative [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Zn(OH(2))][HOB(C(6)F(5))(3)], which has been structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction, thereby demonstrating that protonation results in a lengthening of the Zn-O bond by ca. 0.1 A. The protonation is reversible, and treatment of [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Zn(OH(2))](+) with Et(3)N regenerates [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]ZnOH. Consistent with the notion that the catalytic hydration of CO(2) by carbonic anhydrase requires deprotonation of the coordinated water molecule, [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Zn(OH(2))](+) is inert towards CO(2), whereas [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]ZnOH is in rapid equilibrium with the bicarbonate complex [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]ZnOC(O)OH under comparable conditions. The cobalt hydroxide complex [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]CoOH is likewise protonated by (C(6)F(5))(3)B(OH(2)) to yield the aqua derivative [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Co(OH(2))][HOB(C(6)F(5))(3)], which is isostructural with the zinc complex. The aqua complexes [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]M(OH(2))][HOB(C(6)F(5))(3)] (M = Zn, Co) exhibit a hydrogen bonding interaction between the metal aqua and boron hydroxide moieties. This hydrogen bonding interaction may be viewed as analogous to that between the aqua ligand and Thr-199 at the active site of carbonic anhydrase. In addition to the structural similarities between the zinc and cobalt complexes, [Tp(Bu)t(,Me)ZnOH] and [Tp(Bu)()t(,Me)]CoOH, and between [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Zn(OH(2))](+) and [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Co(OH(2))](+), DFT (B3LYP) calculations demonstrate that the pK(a) value of [[Tp]Zn(OH(2))](+) is similar to that of [[Tp]Co(OH(2))](+). These similarities are in accord with the observation that Co(II) is a successful substitute for Zn(II) in carbonic anhydrase. The cobalt hydroxide [Tp(Bu)()t(,Me)]CoOH reacts with CO(2) to give the bridging carbonate complex [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Co](2)(mu-eta(1),eta(2)-CO(3)). The coordination mode of the carbonate ligand in this complex, which is bidentate to one cobalt center and unidentate to the other, is in contrast to that in the zinc counterpart [[Tp(Bu)t(,Me)]Zn](2)(mu-eta(1),eta(1)-CO(3)), which bridges in a unidentate manner to both zinc centers. This difference in coordination modes concurs with the suggestion that a possible reason for the lower activity of Co(II)-carbonic anhydrase is associated with enhanced bidentate coordination of bicarbonate inhibiting its displacement.  相似文献

Addition of 1 atm of H(2)S to [Ru(IMes)(2)(CO)(EtOH)H(2)] (IMes = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) affords the air-stable hydrogen sulfide dihydride complex, [Ru(IMes)(2)(CO)(H(2)S)H(2)] 2. Treatment of 2 with excess H(2)S leads to formation of the 16-electron bis-hydrosulfido complex, [Ru(IMes)(2)(CO)(SH)(2)] 3. Preliminary studies show that 3 reacts with both H(2) and CO in solution as well as in the solid state. Both 2 and 3 have been structurally characterized  相似文献

The indan derived diphosphine, cis-1,3-(diphenylphosphino)indan (anphos) is synthesised by the addition of Ph2P(BH3)Li to cis-1,3-dibromoindan followed by deprotection with diethylamine. Anphos readily forms the bicyclic chelates [RhCl(CO)(anphos)], [PtCl2(anphos)], [PtCl(Me)(anphos)] and [FeCl2(anphos)]. The crystal structures of [FeCl2(anphos)] and the monoxide complex, [RhCl(CO)(anphosO)] have been determined. Reaction of the diphosphine with [Rh(acac)(CO)2] under moderate hydroformylation conditions catalysed the formation of 1-heptanal and branched aldehydes from 1-hexene in a ratio of 1.5:1.  相似文献

The free energies interconnecting nine tungsten complexes have been determined from chemical equilibria and electrochemical data in MeCN solution (T = 22 °C). Homolytic W-H bond dissociation free energies are 59.3(3) kcal mol(-1) for CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H and 59(1) kcal mol(-1) for the dihydride [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(H)(2)](+) (where IMes = 1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene), indicating that the bonds are the same within experimental uncertainty for the neutral hydride and the cationic dihydride. For the radical cation, [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H](?+), W-H bond homolysis to generate the 16-electron cation [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](+) is followed by MeCN uptake, with free energies for these steps being 51(1) and -16.9(5) kcal mol(-1), respectively. Based on these two steps, the free energy change for the net conversion of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H](?+) to [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+) in MeCN is 34(1) kcal mol(-1), indicating a much lower bond strength for the 17-electron radical cation of the metal hydride compared to the 18-electron hydride or dihydride. The pK(a) of CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H in MeCN was determined to be 31.9(1), significantly higher than the 26.6 reported for the related phosphine complex, CpW(CO)(2)(PMe(3))H. This difference is attributed to the electron donor strength of IMes greatly exceeding that of PMe(3). The pK(a) values for [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H](?+) and [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(H)(2)](+) were determined to be 6.3(5) and 6.3(8), much closer to the pK(a) values reported for the PMe(3) analogues. The free energy of hydride abstraction from CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H is 74(1) kcal mol(-1), and the resultant [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](+) cation is significantly stabilized by binding MeCN to form [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+), giving an effective hydride donor ability of 57(1) kcal mol(-1) in MeCN. Electrochemical oxidation of [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)](-) is fully reversible at all observed scan rates in cyclic voltammetry experiments (E° = -1.65 V vs Cp(2)Fe(+/0) in MeCN), whereas CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)H is reversibly oxidized (E° = -0.13(3) V) only at high scan rates (800 V s(-1)). For [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(MeCN)](+), high-pressure NMR experiments provide an estimate of ΔG° = 10.3(4) kcal mol(-1) for the displacement of MeCN by H(2) to give [CpW(CO)(2)(IMes)(H)(2)](+).  相似文献

Reaction of sodium hydrotris(methimazolyl)borate (NaTm(Me)) with cobalt halides leads to the formation of paramagnetic pseudotetrahedral [Co(Tm(Me))X] (X = Cl, Br, I), of which the bromide has been crystallographically characterized. Mass spectrometry reveals the presence of higher molecular weight fragments [Co(Tm(Me))(2)](+) and [Co(2)(Tm(Me))(2)X](+) in solution. Aerial oxidation in donor solvents (e.g. MeCN) leads to formation of the [Co(Tm(Me))(2)](+) cation, which has been crystallographically characterized as the BF(4)(-), ClO(4)(-), Br(-), and I(-), salts. Attempts to prepare the mixed sandwich complex, [Co(Cp)(Tm(Me))](+), resulted in ligand decomposition to yield [Co(mtH)(3)I]I (mtH = 1-methylimidazole-2-thione), but with the more electron donating methylcyclopentadienyl (Cp(Me)) ligand, [Co(Cp(Me))(Tm(Me))]I was isolated and characterized. Electrochemical measurements reveal that the cobalt(III) Tm(Me) complexes are consistently more difficult to reduce than their Tp and Cp congeners.  相似文献

The metal halides of Group 5 MX(5) (M = Nb, Ta; X = F, Cl, Br) react with ketones and acetylacetones affording the octahedral complexes [MX(5)(ketone)] () and [TaX(4){kappa(2)(O)-OC(Me)C(R)C(Me)O}] (R = H, Me, ), respectively. The adducts [MX(5)(acetone)] are still reactive towards acetone, acetophenone or benzophenone, giving the aldolate species [MX(4){kappa(2)(O)-OC(Me)CH(2)C(R)(R')O}] (). The syntheses of (M = Ta, X = F, R = R' = Ph) and (M = Ta, X = Cl, R = Me, R' = Ph) take place with concomitant formation of [(Ph(2)CO)(2)-H][TaF(6)], and [(MePhCO)(2)-H][TaCl(6)], respectively. The compounds [acacH(2)][TaF(6)], and [TaF{OC(Me)C(Me)C(Me)O}(3)][TaF(6)], have been isolated as by-products in the reactions of TaF(5) with acacH and 3-methyl-2,4-pentanedione, respectively. 2-Phosphanylethylcyclopentadienyl lithium compounds, Li[C(5)R'(4)(CH(2))(2)PR(2)] (R = Et, R' = H or Me, R = Ph, R' = Me), have been prepared from the reaction of spirohydrocarbons C(5)R'(4)(C(2)H(4)) with LiPR(2). C(5)Et(4)HSiMe(2)CH(2)PMe(2), was prepared from reaction of Li[C(5)Et(4)] with Me(2)SiCl(2) followed by Me(2)PCH(2)Li. The lithium salts were reacted with [RhCl(CO)(2)](2), [IrCl(CO)(3)] or [Co(2)(CO)(8)] to give [M(C(5)R'(4)(CH(2))(2)PR(2))(CO)] (M = Rh, R = Et, R' = H or Me, R = Ph, R' = Me; M = Ir or Co, R = Et, R' = Me), which have been fully characterised, in many cases crystallographically as monomers with coordination of the phosphorus atom and the cyclopentadienyl ring. The values of nu(CO) for these complexes are usually lower than those for the analogous complexes without the bridge between the cyclopentadienyl ring and the phosphine, the exception being [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] (Cp' = C(5)Me(4)), the most electron rich of the complexes. [Rh(C(5)Et(4)SiMe(2)CH(2)PMe(2))(CO)] may be a dimer. [Co(2)(CO)(8)] reacts with C(5)H(5)(CH(2))(2)PEt(2) or C(5)Et(4)HSiMe(2)CH(2)PMe(2) (L) to give binuclear complexes of the form [Co(2)(CO)(6)L(2)] with almost linear PCoCoP skeletons. [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] and [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PPh(2))(CO)] are active for methanol carbonylation at 150 degrees C and 27 bar CO, with the rate using [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PPh(2))(CO)] (0.81 mol dm(-3) h(-1)) being higher than that for [RhI(2)(CO)(2)](-) (0.64 mol dm(-3) h(-1)). The most electron rich complex, [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] (0.38 mol dm(-3) h(-1)) gave a comparable rate to [Cp*Rh(PEt(3))(CO)] (0.30 mol dm(-3) h(-1)), which was unstable towards oxidation of the phosphine. [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))I(2)], which is inactive for methanol carbonylation, was isolated after the methanol carbonylation reaction using [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)]. Neither of [M(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] (M = Co or Ir) was active for methanol carbonylation under these conditions, nor under many other conditions investigated, except that [Ir(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] showed some activity at higher temperature (190 degrees C), probably as a result of degradation to [IrI(2)(CO)(2)](-). [M(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] react with MeI to give [M(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(C(O)Me)I] (M = Co or Rh) or [Ir(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))Me(CO)]I. The rates of oxidative addition of MeI to [Rh(C(5)H(4)(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] and [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PPh(2))(CO)] are 62 and 1770 times faster than to [Cp*Rh(CO)(2)]. Methyl migration is slower, however. High pressure NMR studies show that [Co(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] and [Cp*Rh(PEt(3))(CO)] are unstable towards phosphine oxidation and/or quaternisation under methanol carbonylation conditions, but that [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(CO)] does not exhibit phosphine degradation, eventually producing inactive [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))I(2)] at least under conditions of poor gas mixing. The observation of [Rh(Cp'(CH(2))(2)PEt(2))(C(O)Me)I] under methanol carbonylation conditions suggests that the rhodium centre has become so electron rich that reductive elimination of ethanoyl iodide has become rate determining for methanol carbonylation. In addition to the high electron density at rhodium.  相似文献

Thermolysis of [Ru(AsPh3)3(CO)H2] with the N-aryl heterocyclic carbenes (NHCs) IMes (1,3-bis(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene), IPr (1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imidazol-2-ylidene) or the adduct SIPr.(C6F5)H (SIPr=1,3-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-4,5-dihydroimidazol-2-ylidene), followed by addition of CH2Cl2, affords the coordinatively unsaturated ruthenium hydride chloride complexes [Ru(NHC)2(CO)HCl] (NHC=IMes , IPr , SIPr ). These react with CO at room temperature to yield the corresponding 18-electron dicarbonyl complexes . Reduction of and [Ru(IMes)(PPh3)(CO)HCl] () with NaBH4 yields the isolable borohydride complexes [Ru(NHC)(L)(CO)H(eta2-BH4)] (, L=NHC, PPh3). Both the bis-IMes complex and the IMes-PPh3 species react with CO at low temperature to give the eta1-borohydride species [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)2H(eta1-BH4)] (L=IMes , PPh3), which can be spectroscopically characterised. Upon warming to room temperature, further reaction with CO takes place to afford initially [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)2H2] (L=IMes, L=PPh3) and, ultimately, [Ru(IMes)(L)(CO)3] (L=IMes , L=PPh3). Both and lose BH3 on addition of PMe2Ph to give [Ru(IMes)(L)(L')(CO)H2](L=L'=PMe2Ph; L=PPh3, L'=PMe2Ph). Compounds and have been tested as catalysts for the hydrogenation of aromatic ketones in the presence of (i)PrOH and H2. For the reduction of acetophenone, catalytic activity varies with the NHC present, decreasing in the order IPr>IMes>SIMes.  相似文献
