Extended Chebyshev spaces possess Bernstein type bases. In this paper, we determine the expressions of such bases in spaces spanned by the constants and power functions with consecutive integer exponents. In this paper, we continue to discuss the properties of iterates generated by a strict pseudo- contraction or a finite family of strict pseudo-contractions in a real q-uniformly smooth Banach space. The results presented in this paper are interesting extensions and improvements upon those known ones of Marino and Xu [Marino, G., Xu, H. K.: Weak and strong convergence theorems for strict pseudo-contractions in Hilbert spaces. J. Math. Anal. Appl., 324, 336-349 (2007)]. In order to get a strong convergence theorem, we modify the normal Mann's iterative algorithm by using a suitable convex combination of a fixed vector and a sequence in C. This result extends a recent result of Kim and Xu [Kim, T. H., Xu, H. K.: Strong convergence of modified Mann iterations. Nonl. Anal., 61, 51- 60 (2005)] both from nonexpansive mappings to λ-strict pseudo-contractions and from Hilbert spaces to q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces.  相似文献

We will show that an uniform treatment yields Wiener–Tauberian type results for various Banach algebras and modules consisting of radial sections of some homogenous vector bundles on rank one Riemannian symmetric spaces G/K of noncompact type. One example of such a vector bundle is the spinor bundle. The algebras and modules we consider are natural generalizations of the commutative Banach algebra of integrable radial functions on G/K. The first set of them are Beurling algebras with analytic weights, while the second set arises due to Kunze–Stein phenomenon for noncompact semisimple Lie groups.  相似文献

A Banach–Zarecki Theorem for a Banach space-valued function  \(F : [0,1] \rightarrow X\) with compact range is presented. We define the strong absolute continuity ( \(sAC_{||.||_{F}}\) ) and the bounded variation ( \(BV_{||.||_{F}}\) ) of \(F\) with respect to the Minkowski functional \(||.||_{F}\) associated to the closed absolutely convex hull \(C_{F}\) of \(F([0,1])\) . It is proved that \(F\) is \(sAC_{||.||_{F}}\) if and only if \(F\) is \(BV_{||.||_{F}}\) , weak continuous on \([0,1]\) and satisfies the weak property \((N)\) .  相似文献

Suda (2012) extended the Erds-Ko-Rado theorem to designs in strongly regularized semilattices.In this paper we generalize Suda’s results in regularized semilattices and partition regularized semilattices,give many examples for these semilattices and obtain their intersection theorems.  相似文献

We characterize the Banach spaces Y   for which certain subspaces of operators from L1(μ)L1(μ) into Y have the Bishop–Phelps–Bollobás property in terms of a geometric property of Y, namely AHSP. This characterization applies to the spaces of compact and weakly compact operators. New examples of Banach spaces Y with AHSP are provided. The purpose of the present paper is to establish coincidence point theorem for two mappings and fixed point theorem for one mapping in abstract metric space which satisfy contractive conditions of Hardy–Rogers type. Our results generalize fixed point theorems of Nemytzki [V.V. Nemytzki, Fixed point method in analysis, Uspekhi Mat. Nauk 1 (1936) 141–174], Edelstein [M. Edelstein, On fixed and periodic point under contractive mappings, J. Lond. Math. Soc. 37 (1962) 74–79] and Huang, Zhang [L.G. Huang, X. Zhang, Cone metric spaces and fixed point theorems of contractive mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 332 (2) (2007) 1468–1476] from abstract metric spaces to symmetric spaces (Theorem 2.1) and to metric spaces (Theorem 2.4, Corollary 2.6, Corollary 2.7, Corollary 2.8). An old problem asks whether a Riemannian manifold can be isospectral to a Riemannian orbifold with nontrivial singular set. In this short note we show that under the assumption of Schanuel’s conjecture in transcendental number theory, this is impossible whenever the orbifold and manifold in question are length-commensurable compact locally symmetric spaces of nonpositive curvature associated to simple Lie groups.  相似文献

We supplement recent results on a class of Bernstein–Durrmeyer operators preserving linear functions. This is done by discussing two limiting cases and proving quantitative Voronovskaya-type assertions involving the first-order and second-order moduli of smoothness. The results generalize and improve earlier statements for Bernstein and genuine Bernstein–Durrmeyer operators.  相似文献
