The rational design of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) with hollow features and tunable porosity at the nanoscale can enhance their intrinsic properties and stimulates increasing attentions. In this Communication, we demonstrate that methanol can affect the coordination mode of ZIF‐67 in the presence of Co2+ and induces a mild phase transformation under solvothermal conditions. By applying this transformation process to the ZIF‐67@ZIF‐8 core–shell structures, a well‐defined hollow Zn/Co ZIF rhombic dodecahedron can be obtained. The manufacturing of hollow MOFs enables us to prepare a noble metal@MOF yolk‐shell composite with controlled spatial distribution and morphology. The enhanced gas storage and porous confinement that originate from the hollow interior and coating of ZIF‐8 confers this unique catalyst with superior activity and selectivity toward the semi‐hydrogenation of acetylene.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) feature a great possibility for a broad spectrum of applications. Hollow MOF structures with tunable porosity and multifunctionality at the nanoscale with beneficial properties are desired as hosts for catalytically active species. Herein, we demonstrate the formation of well‐defined hollow Zn/Co‐based zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) by use of epitaxial growth of Zn‐MOF (ZIF‐8) on preformed Co‐MOF (ZIF‐67) nanocrystals that involve in situ self‐sacrifice/excavation of the Co‐MOF. Moreover, any type of metal nanoparticles can be accommodated in Zn/Co‐ZIF shells to generate yolk–shell metal@ZIF structures. Transmission electron microscopy and tomography studies revealed the inclusion of these nanoparticles within hollow Zn/Co‐ZIF with dominance of the Zn‐MOF as shell. Our findings lead to a generalization of such hollow systems that are working effectively to other types of ZIFs.  相似文献

A series of dual‐metal zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) crystals with SOD and RHO topologies was synthesised by metal substitution from ZIF‐108 (Zn(2‐nitroimidazolate)2, SOD topology) as the parent material. This was based on the concept that metal substitution of ZIF‐108 requires a much lower activation energy than homogenous nucleation owing to the metastability of ZIF‐108. In‐depth investigations of the formation processes of the daughter ZIFs indicated that the transformation of ZIF‐108 is a dissolution/heterogeneous nucleation process. Typical isostructural Co2+ substitution mainly occurs at the outer surface of ZIF‐108 and results in a core–shell structure. On the contrary, the Cu2+‐substituted ZIF has a RHO topology with a homogeneous distribution of Cu2+ ions in the structure. Substitution with Ni2+ resulted in a remarkable enhancement in adsorption selectivity toward CO2 over N2 by a factor of up to 227. With Co2+‐substituted nanoparticles as inorganic filler, a mixed matrix membrane based on polysulfone displayed greatly improved performance in the separation of H2/CH4, CO2/N2 and CO2/CH4.  相似文献

A facile and versatile microwave‐assisted and shell‐confined Kirkendall diffusion strategy is used to fabricate ultrasmall hollow nanoparticles by modulating the growth and thermal conversion of metal–organic framework (MOF) nanocrystals on graphene. This method involves that the adsorption of microwave by graphene creates a high‐energy environment in a short time to decompose the in situ grown MOF nanocrystals into well‐dispersed uniform core–shell nanoparticles with ultrasmall size. Upon a shell‐confined Kirkendall diffusion process, hollow nanoparticles of multi‐metal oxides, phosphides, and sulfides with the diameter below 20 nm and shell thickness below 3 nm can be obtained for the first time. Ultrasmall hollow nanostructures such as Fe2O3 can promote much faster charge transport and expose more active sites as well as migrate the volume change stress more efficiently than the solid and large hollow counterparts, thus demonstrating remarkable lithium‐ion storage performance.  相似文献

Dense and homogeneous metal–organic framework (MOF) coatings on functional bead surfaces are easily prepared by using intermediate sacrificial metal oxide coatings containing the metal precursor of the MOF. Polystyrene (PS) beads are coated with a ZnO layer to give ZnO@PS core–shell beads. The ZnO@PS beads are reactive in the presence of 2‐methylimidazole to transform part of the ZnO coating into a porous zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8) external shell positioned above the internal ZnO precursor shell. The obtained ZIF‐8@ZnO@PS beads can be easily packed in column format for flow‐through applications, such as the solid‐phase extraction of trace priority‐listed environmental pollutants. The prepared material shows an excellent permeance to flow when packed as a column to give high enrichment factors, facile regeneration, and excellent reusability for the extraction of the pollutant bisphenol A. It also shows an outstanding performance for the simultaneous enrichment of mixtures of endocrine disrupting chemicals (bisphenol A, 4‐tert‐octylphenol and 4‐n‐nonylphenol), facilitating their analysis when present at very low levels (<1 μg L?1) in drinking waters. For the extraction of the pollutant bisphenol A, the prepared ZIF‐8@ZnO@PS beads also show a superior extraction and preconcentration capacity to that of the PS beads used as precursors and the composite materials obtained by the direct growth of ZIF‐8 on the surface of the PS beads in the absence of metal oxide intermediate coatings.  相似文献

Hierarchical tubular structures composed of Co3O4 hollow nanoparticles and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been synthesized by an efficient multi‐step route. Starting from polymer‐cobalt acetate (Co(Ac)2) composite nanofibers, uniform polymer‐Co(Ac)2@zeolitic imidazolate framework‐67 (ZIF‐67) core–shell nanofibers are first synthesized via partial phase transformation with 2‐methylimidazole in ethanol. After the selective dissolution of polymer‐Co(Ac)2 cores, the resulting ZIF‐67 tubular structures can be converted into hierarchical CNTs/Co‐carbon hybrids by annealing in Ar/H2 atmosphere. Finally, the hierarchical CNT/Co3O4 microtubes are obtained by a subsequent thermal treatment in air. Impressively, the as‐prepared nanocomposite delivers a high reversible capacity of 1281 mAh g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 with exceptional rate capability and long cycle life over 200 cycles as an anode material for lithium‐ion batteries.  相似文献

The structural, compositional, and morphological features of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) govern their properties and applications. Construction of hybrid MOFs with complicated structures, components, or morphologies is significant for the development of well‐organized MOFs. An advanced route is reported for construction of atypical hybrid MOFs with unique morphologies and complicated components: 1) MOF‐on‐MOF growth of a 3D zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) on a ZIF‐L template, 2) etching of a part of the 2D ZIF‐L template, and 3) structural transformation of 2D ZIF‐L into 3D ZIF. The formation of core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates is controlled by regulating the three processes. The formation route for the core–shell‐type MOF rings and plates was monitored by tracking changes in morphology, structure, and composition. Carbon materials prepared from the pyrolysis of the core–shell‐type hybrid MOFs displayed enhanced oxygen reduction reaction activities compared to their monomeric counterparts.  相似文献

The metal ions in a neutral Zn–MOF constructed from tritopic triacid H3L with inherent concave features, rigid core, and peripheral flexibility are found to exist in two distinct SBUs, that is, 0D and 1D. This has allowed site‐selective postsynthetic metal exchange (PSME) to be investigated and reactivities of the metal ions in two different environments in coordination polymers to be contrasted for the first time. Site‐selective transmetalation of Zn ions in the discrete environment is shown to occur in a single crystal‐to‐single crystal (SCSC) fashion, with metal ions such as Fe3+, Ru3+, Cu2+, Co2+, etc., whereas those that are part of 1D SBU sustain structural integrity, leading to novel bimetallic MOFs, which are inaccessible by conventional approaches. To the best of our knowledge, site‐selective postsynthetic exchange of an intraframework metal ion in a MOF that contains metal ions in discrete as well as polymeric SBUs is heretofore unprecedented.  相似文献

Transition‐metal sulfides (TMSs) have emerged as important candidates for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts. Now a hybrid nanostructure has been decorated with CeOx nanoparticles on the surface of ZIF‐67‐derived hollow CoS through in situ generation. Proper control of the amount of CeOx on the surface of CoS can achieve precise tuning of Co2+/Co3+ ratio, especially for the induced defects, further boosting the OER activity. Meanwhile, the formation of protective CeOx thin layer effectively inhibits the corrosion by losing cobalt ion species from the active surface into the solution. It is thus a rare example of a hybrid hetero‐structural electrocatalyst with CeOx NPs to improve the performance of the hollow TMS nanocage.  相似文献

Controlling the shape of metal–organic framework (MOF) crystals is important for understanding their crystallization and useful for myriad applications. However, despite the many advances in shaping of inorganic nanoparticles, post‐synthetic shape control of MOFs and, in general, molecular crystals remains embryonic. Herein, we report using a simple wet‐chemistry process at room temperature to control the anisotropic etching of colloidal ZIF‐8 and ZIF‐67 crystals. Our work enables uniform reshaping of these porous materials into unprecedented morphologies, including cubic and tetrahedral crystals, and even hollow boxes, by an acid–base reaction and subsequent sequestration of leached metal ions. Etching tests on these ZIFs reveal that etching occurs preferentially in the crystallographic directions richer in metal–ligand bonds; that, along these directions, the etching rate tends to be faster on the crystal surfaces of higher dimensionality; and that the etching can be modulated by adjusting the pH of the etchant solution.  相似文献

The efficient chemical conversion of carbon dioxide (CO2) into value‐added fine chemicals is an intriguing but challenging route in sustainable chemistry. Herein, a hollow‐structured bimetallic zeolitic imidazole framework composed of Zn and Co as metal centers (H‐ZnCo‐ZIF) has been successfully prepared via a post‐synthetic strategy based on controllable chemical‐etching of the preformed solid ZnCo‐ZIF in tannic acid. The creation of hollow cavities inside each monocrystalline ZIFs could be achieved without destroying the intrinsic frameworks, as characterized by field‐emission scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and X‐ray diffraction technologies. The as‐synthesized H‐ZnCo‐ZIF exhibited remarkable catalytic activity in the cycloaddition of CO2 with epoxides to the corresponding cyclic carbonates, outperforming the solid ZnCo‐ZIF analogue due to the improved mass transfer originating from the hollow structure. More importantly, due to stabilization of metal centers in the ZIF framework by the tannic acid shell, H‐ZnCo‐ZIF exhibited good recyclability, and no activity loss could be observed in six runs. The present study provides a simple and effective strategy to enhance the catalytic performance of ZIFs by creating a hollow structure via chemical etching.  相似文献

A bio‐inspired design of using metal–organic framework (MOF) microcrystals with well‐defined multi‐shelled hollow structures was used as a matrix to host multiple guests including molecules and nanoparticles at separated locations to form a hierarchical material, mimicking biological structures. The interactions such as energy transfer (ET) between different guests are regulated by precisely fixing them in the MOF shells or encapsulating them in the cavities between the MOF shells. The proof‐of‐concept design is demonstrated by hosting chromophore molecules including rhodamine 6G (R6G) and 7‐amino‐4‐(trifluoromethyl)coumarin (C‐151), as well as metal nanoparticles (Pd NPs) into the multi‐shelled hollow zeolitic imidazolate framework‐8 (ZIF‐8). We could selectively establish or diminish the guest‐to‐framework and guest‐to‐guest ET. This work provides a platform to construct complex multifunctional materials, especially those need precise separation control of multi‐components.  相似文献

A novel metal–organic framework (MOF) was fabricated by spontaneous K+‐induced supramolecular self‐assembly with the embedded tripodal ligand units. When the 3D ligand was loaded onto Fe3O4@mSiO2 core‐shell nanoparticles, it could effectively separate K+ ions from a mixture of Na+, K+, Mg2+, and Ca2+ ions through nanoparticle‐assisted MOF crystallization into a Fe3O4@mSiO2@MOF hybrid material. Excess potassium ions could be extracted because of the specific cation–π interaction between K+ and the aromatic cavity of the MOF, leading to enhanced separation efficiency and suggesting a new application for MOFs.  相似文献

We successfully fabricate a well‐defined inorganic/organic hybrid Cu2O@Cu/Co‐ZIF (ZIF=zeolitic imidazolate frameworks) by use of growth of dual‐metal Cu/Co‐ZIF on the obtained Cu2O hollow spheres. The key point of the strategy is coupling the in situ self‐sacrificing template. Cu2O and the coordination of metal ions (Cu+ and Co2+) with 2‐methylimidazole. This new hybrid was characterized by powder X‐ray diffraction, (scanning) transmission electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive spectroscopy mapping, in situ FT‐IR spectroscopy, UV/Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy, N2 sorption measurements, and electron spin resonance. It was evidenced that Cu/Co‐ZIF nanocrystals have been assembled to continuous shells surrounding the Cu2O cores as well as in the voids between layers and inner pores. Cu2O@Cu/Co‐ZIF exhibits visible light responsiveness and holds potential as narrow band gap semiconductor and visible photocatalyst.  相似文献

In this work, hybrid porous Co3O4–CeO2 hollow polyhedrons have been successfully obtained via a simple cation‐exchange route followed by heat treatment. In the synthesis process, ZIF‐67 polyhedron frameworks are firstly prepared, which not only serve as a host for the exchanged Ce3+ ions but also act as the template for the synthesis of hybrid porous Co3O4–CeO2 hollow polyhedrons. When utilized as electrode materials for supercapacitors, the hybrid porous Co3O4–CeO2 hollow polyhedrons delivered a large specific capacitance of 1288.3 F g?1 at 2.5 A g?1 and a remarkable long lifespan cycling stability (<3.3 % loss after 6000 cycles). Furthermore, an asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) device based on hybrid porous Co3O4–CeO2 hollow polyhedrons was assembled. The ASC device possesses an energy density of 54.9 W h kg?1, which can be retained to 44.2 W h kg?1 even at a power density of 5100 W kg?1, indicating its promising application in electrochemical energy storage. More importantly, we believe that the present route is a simple and versatile strategy for the preparation of other hybrid metal oxides with desired structures, chemical compositions and applications.  相似文献

The unique features of high porosity, shape selectivity, and multiple active sites make metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) promising as novel stationary phases for high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). However, the wide particle size distribution and irregular shape of conventional MOFs lead to lower column efficiency of such MOF‐packed columns. Herein, the fabrication of monodisperse MOF@SiO2 core–shell microspheres as the stationary phase for HPLC to overcome the above‐mentioned problems is reported. Zeolitic imidazolate framework 8 (ZIF‐8) was used as an example of MOFs due to its permanent porosity, uniform pore size, and exceptional chemical stability. Unique carboxyl‐modified silica spheres were used as the support to grow the ZIF‐8 shell. The fabricated monodisperse ZIF‐8@SiO2 packed columns (5 cm long × 4.6 mm i.d.) show high column efficiency (23 000 plates m?1 for bisphenol A) for the HPLC separation of endocrine‐disrupting chemicals (bisphenol A, β‐estradiol, and p‐(tert‐octyl)phenol) and pesticides (thiamethoxam, hexaflumuron, chlorantraniliprole, and pymetrozine) within 7 min with good relative standard deviations for 11 replicate separations of the analytes (0.01–0.39, 0.65–1.7, 0.70–1.3, and 0.17–0.91 % for retention time, peak area, peak height, and half peak width, respectively). The ZIF‐8@SiO2 microspheres combine the advantages of the good column packing properties of the uniform monodisperse silica microspheres and the separation ability of the ZIF‐8 crystals.  相似文献

The metal–organic framework (MOF) [Pd(2‐pymo)2]n (2‐pymo=2‐pyrimidinolate) was used as catalyst in the hydrogenation of 1‐octene. During catalytic hydrogenation, the changes at the metal nodes and linkers of the MOF were investigated by in situ X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and IR spectroscopy. With the help of extended X‐ray absorption fine structure and X‐ray absorption near edge structure data, Quick‐XAS, and IR spectroscopy, detailed insights into the catalytic relevance of Pd2+/Pd0 in the hydrogenation of 1‐octene could be achieved. Shortly after exposure of the catalyst to H2 and simultaneously with the hydrogenation of 1‐octene, the aromatic rings of the linker molecules are hydrogenated rapidly. Up to this point, the MOF structure remained intact. After completion of linker hydrogenation, the linkers were also protonated. When half of the linker molecules were protonated, the onset of reduction of the Pd2+ centers to Pd0 was observed and the hydrogenation activity decreased, followed by fast reduction of the palladium centers and collapse of the MOF structure. Major fractions of Pd0 are only observed when the hydrogenation of 1‐octene is almost finished. Consequently, the Pd2+ nodes of the MOF [Pd(2‐pymo)2]n are identified as active centers in the hydrogenation of 1‐octene.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have demonstrated great potentials in a variety of important applications. To enhance the inherent properties and endow materials with multifunctionality, the rational design and synthesis of MOFs with nanoscale porosity and hollow feature is highly desired and remains a great challenge. In this work, the formation of a series of well‐defined MOF (MOF‐5, FeII‐MOF‐5, FeIII‐MOF‐5) hollow nanocages by a facile solvothermal method, without any additional supporting template is reported. A surface‐energy‐driven mechanism may be responsible for the formation of hollow nanocages. The addition of pre‐synthesized poly(vinylpyrrolidone)‐ (PVP) capped noble‐metal nanoparticles into the synthetic system of MOF hollow nanocages yields the yolk–shell noble metal@MOF nanostructures. The present strategy to fabricate hollow and yolk–shell nanostructures is expected to open up exciting opportunities for developing a novel class of inorganic–organic hybrid functional nanomaterials.  相似文献

The local symmetry and local magnetic properties of 6 nm‐sized, bimetallic, cyanide‐bridged CsNiCr(CN)6 coordination nanoparticles 1 and 8 nm‐sized, trimetallic, CsNiCr(CN)6@CsCoCr(CN)6 core–shell nanoparticles 2 were studied by X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and X‐ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD). The measurements were performed at the NiII, CoII, and CrIII L2,3 edges. This study revealed the presence of distorted NiII sites located on the particle surface of 1 that account for the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy observed by SQUID measurements. For the core–shell particles, a combination of the exchange anisotropy between the core and the shell and the pronounced anisotropy of the CoII ions is the origin of the large increase in coercive field from 120 to 890 Oe on going from 1 to 2 . In addition, XMCD allows the relative orientation of the magnetic moments throughout the core–shell particles to be determined. While for the bimetallic particles of 1 , alignment of the magnetic moments of CrIII ions with those of NiII ions leads to uniform magnetization, in the core–shell particles 2 the magnetic moments of the isotropic CrIII follow those of CoII ions in the shell and those of NiII ions in the core, and this leads to nonuniform magnetization in the whole nanoobject, mainly due to the large difference in local anisotropy between the CoII ions belonging to the surface and the NiII ions in the core.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are suitable enzyme immobilization matrices. Reported here is the in situ biomineralization of glucose oxidase (GOD) into MOF crystals (ZIF‐8) by interfacial crystallization. This method is effective for the selective coating of porous polyethersulfone microfiltration hollow fibers on the shell side in a straightforward one‐step process. MOF layers with a thickness of 8 μm were synthesized, and fluorescence microscopy and a colorimetric protein assay revealed the successful inclusion of GOD into the ZIF‐8 layer with an enzyme concentration of 29±3 μg cm?2. Enzymatic activity tests revealed that 50 % of the enzyme activity is preserved. Continuous enzymatic reactions, by the permeation of β‐d ‐glucose through the GOD@ZIF‐8 membranes, showed a 50 % increased activity compared to batch experiments, emphasizing the importance of the convective transport of educts and products to and from the enzymatic active centers.  相似文献
