Hollow nanostructures have attracted increasing research interest in electrochemical energy storage and conversion owing to their unique structural features. However, the synthesis of hollow nanostructured metal phosphides, especially nonspherical hollow nanostructures, is rarely reported. Herein, we develop a metal–organic framework (MOF)‐based strategy to synthesize carbon incorporated Ni–Co mixed metal phosphide nanoboxes (denoted as NiCoP/C). The oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is selected as a demonstration to investigate the electrochemical performance of the NiCoP/C nanoboxes. For comparison, Ni–Co layered double hydroxide (Ni–Co LDH) and Ni–Co mixed metal phosphide (denoted as NiCoP) nanoboxes have also been synthesized. Benefiting from their structural and compositional merits, the as‐synthesized NiCoP/C nanoboxes exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity and long‐term stability for OER.  相似文献

Reported herein are two new polymorphic Co‐MOFs (CTGU‐5 and ‐6) that can be selectively crystallized into the pure 2D or 3D net using an anionic or neutral surfactant, respectively. Each polymorph contains a H2O molecule, but differs dramatically in its bonding to the framework, which in turn affects the crystal structure and electrocatalytic performance for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Both experimental and computational studies find that 2D CTGU‐5 which has coordinates water and more open access to the cobalt site has higher electrocatalytic activity than CTGU‐6 with the lattice water. The integration with co‐catalysts, such as acetylene black (AB) leads to a composite material, AB&CTGU‐5 (1:4) with very efficient HER catalytic properties among reported MOFs. It exhibits superior HER properties including a very positive onset potential of 18 mV, low Tafel slope of 45 mV dec−1, higher exchange current density of 8.6×10−4 A cm−2, and long‐term stability.  相似文献

To improve energy conversion efficiency, the development of active electrocatalysts with similar structural features to photosynthesis II systems (PS‐II), which can efficiently catalyze the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), have received great research interest. Crystalline cobalt phosphate nanosheets are designed as an efficient OER catalyst in neutral media, showing outstanding performance that even outperforms the noble RuO2 benchmark. The correlation of experimental and computational results reveals that the active sites are the edge‐sharing CoO9 structural motif, akin to the molecular geometry of PS‐II. This unique structure can facilitate reaction intermediate adsorption and decrease the reaction energy barrier, thus improving the OER kinetics.  相似文献

To apply electrically nonconductive metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) in an electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), we have developed a new method for fabricating various amounts of CuS nanoparticles (nano‐CuS) in/on a 3D Cu–MOF, [Cu3(BTC)2⋅(H2O)3] (BTC=1,3,5‐benzenetricarboxylate). As the amount of nano‐CuS increases in the composite, the electrical conductivity increases exponentially by up to circa 109‐fold, while porosity decreases, compared with that of the pristine Cu‐MOF. The composites, nano‐CuS(x wt %)@Cu‐BTC, exhibit significantly higher electrocatalytic ORR activities than Cu‐BTC or nano‐CuS in an alkaline solution. The onset potential, electron transfer number, and kinetic current density increase when the electrical conductivity of the material increases but decrease when the material has a poor porosity, which shows that the two factors should be finely tuned by the amount of nano‐CuS for ORR application. Of these materials, CuS(28 wt %)@Cu‐BTC exhibits the best activity, showing the onset potential of 0.91 V vs. RHE, quasi‐four‐electron transfer pathway, and a kinetic current density of 11.3 mA cm−2 at 0.55 V vs. RHE.  相似文献

The sluggish hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) under alkaline conditions has hindered the commercialization of hydroxide‐exchange membrane hydrogen fuel cells. A low‐cost Ni/NiO/C catalyst with abundant Ni/NiO interfacial sites was developed as a competent HOR electrocatalyst in alkaline media. Ni/NiO/C exhibits an HOR activity one order of magnitude higher than that of its parent Ni/C counterpart. Moreover, Ni/NiO/C also shows better stability and CO tolerance than commercial Pt/C in alkaline media, which renders it a very promising HOR electrocatalyst for hydrogen fuel cell applications. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were also performed to shed light on the enhanced HOR performance of Ni/NiO/C; the DFT results indicate that both hydrogen and hydroxide achieve optimal binding energies at the Ni/NiO interface, resulting from the balanced electronic and oxophilic effects at the Ni/NiO interface.  相似文献

Efficient hydrogen evolution via electrocatalytic water splitting holds great promise in modern energy devices. Herein, we demonstrate that the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) excitation of Au nanorods (NRs) dramatically improves the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity of CoFe‐metal–organic framework nanosheets (CoFe‐MOFNs), leading to a more than 4‐fold increase of current density at ?0.236 V (vs. RHE) for Au/CoFe‐MOFNs composite under light irradiation versus in dark. Mechanistic investigations reveal that the hydrogen evolution enhancement can be largely attributed to the injection of hot electrons from AuNRs to CoFe‐MOFNs, raising the Fermi level of CoFe‐MOFNs, facilitating the reduction of H2O and affording decreased activation energy for HER. This study highlights the superiority of plasmonic excitation on improving electrocatalytic efficiency of MOFs and provides a novel avenue towards the design of highly efficient water‐splitting systems under light irradiation.  相似文献

Ultrathin metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets (NSs) offer potential for many applications, but the synthetic strategies are largely limited to top‐down, low‐yield exfoliation methods. Herein, Ni–M–MOF (M=Fe, Al, Co, Mn, Zn, and Cd) NSs are reported with a thickness of only several atomic layers, prepared by a large‐scale, bottom‐up solvothermal method. The solvent mixture of N,N‐dimethylacetamide and water plays key role in controlling the formation of these two‐dimensional MOF NSs. The MOF NSs can be directly used as efficient electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction, in which the Ni–Fe–MOF NSs deliver a current density of 10 mA cm?2 at a low overpotential of 221 mV with a small Tafel slope of 56.0 mV dec?1, and exhibit excellent stability for at least 20 h without obvious activity decay. Density functional theory calculations on the energy barriers for OER occurring at different metal sites confirm that Fe is the active site for OER at Ni–Fe–MOF NSs.  相似文献

Layered two‐dimensional (2D) conjugated metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) represent a family of rising electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), due to the controllable architectures, excellent electrical conductivity, and highly exposed well‐defined molecular active sites. Herein, we report a copper phthalocyanine based 2D conjugated MOF with square‐planar cobalt bis(dihydroxy) complexes (Co‐O4) as linkages (PcCu‐O8‐Co) and layer‐stacked structures prepared via solvothermal synthesis. PcCu‐O8‐Co 2D MOF mixed with carbon nanotubes exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ORR activity (E1/2=0.83 V vs. RHE, n=3.93, and jL=5.3 mA cm?2) in alkaline media, which is the record value among the reported intrinsic MOF electrocatalysts. Supported by in situ Raman spectro‐electrochemistry and theoretical modeling as well as contrast catalytic tests, we identified the cobalt nodes as ORR active sites. Furthermore, when employed as a cathode electrocatalyst for zinc–air batteries, PcCu‐O8‐Co delivers a maximum power density of 94 mW cm?2, outperforming the state‐of‐the‐art Pt/C electrocatalysts (78.3 mW cm?2).  相似文献

Electrodes for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) are required in energy conversion and storage technologies. An assembly strategy involves covalently grafting Co corrole 1 onto Fe3O4 nanoarrays grown on Ti mesh. The resulted electrode shows significantly improved activity and durability for OER and ORR in neutral media as compared to Fe3O4 alone and with directly adsorbed 1 . It also displays higher atom efficiency (at least two magnitudes larger turnover frequency) than reported electrodes. Using this electrode in a neutral Zn‐air battery, a small charge–discharge voltage gap of 1.19 V, large peak power density of 90.4 mW cm?2, and high rechargeable stability for >100 h are achieved, opening a promising avenue of molecular electrocatalysis in a metal–air battery. This work shows a molecule‐engineered electrode for electrocatalysis and demonstrates their potential applications in energy conversion and storage.  相似文献

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) capable of mobility and manipulation are attractive materials for potential applications in targeted drug delivery, catalysis, and small‐scale machines. One way of rendering MOFs navigable is incorporating magnetically responsive nanostructures, which usually involve at least two preparation steps: the growth of the magnetic nanomaterial and its incorporation during the synthesis of the MOF crystals. Now, by using optimal combinations of salts and ligands, zeolitic imidazolate framework composite structures with ferrimagnetic behavior can be readily obtained via a one‐step synthetic procedure, that is, without the incorporation of extrinsic magnetic components. The ferrimagnetism of the composite originates from binary oxides of iron and transition metals such as cobalt. This approach exhibits similarities to the natural mineralization of iron oxide species, as is observed in ores and in biomineralization.  相似文献

We report a general approach for the synthesis of multishell mixed‐metal oxyphosphide particles. Seven‐layer Mn‐Co oxide particles were first prepared by thermal treatment of Mn‐Co coordination polymer precursors. Afterwards, these multishell Mn‐Co oxide particles were further transformed into multishell Mn‐Co oxyphosphide particles through a phosphidation reaction. This approach is very versatile and can be applied to synthesize other multishell mixed‐metal oxyphosphide particles with different compositions. By applying a constant electrochemical potential, these multishell Mn‐Co oxyphosphide particles can be activated to produce Mn‐Co oxide/hydroxide species in their nanoshells and then show greatly enhanced electrocatalytic activity in the oxygen evolution reaction (OER).  相似文献

Metal–organic framework (MOFs) two‐dimensional (2D) nanosheets have many coordinatively unsaturated metal sites that act as active centres for catalysis. To date, limited numbers of 2D MOFs nanosheets can be obtained through top‐down or bottom‐up synthesis strategies. Herein, we report a 2D oxide sacrifice approach (2dOSA) to facilely synthesize ultrathin MOF‐74 and BTC MOF nanosheets with a flexible combination of metal sites, which cannot be obtained through the delamination of their bulk counterparts (top‐down) or the conventional solvothermal method (bottom‐up). The ultrathin iron–cobalt MOF‐74 nanosheets prepared are only 2.6 nm thick. The sample enriched with surface coordinatively unsaturated metal sites, exhibits a significantly higher oxygen evolution reaction reactivity than bulk FeCo MOF‐74 particles and the state‐of‐the‐art MOF catalyst. It is believed that this 2dOSA could provide a new and simple way to synthesize various ultrathin MOF nanosheets for wide applications.  相似文献

A surfactant‐stabilized coordination strategy is used to make two‐dimensional (2D) single‐atom catalysts (SACs) with an ultrahigh Pt loading of 12.0 wt %, by assembly of pre‐formed single Pt atom coordinated porphyrin precursors into free‐standing metal–organic framework (MOF) nanosheets with an ultrathin thickness of 2.4±0.9 nm. This is the first example of 2D MOF‐based SACs. Remarkably, the 2D SACs exhibit a record‐high photocatalytic H2 evolution rate of 11 320 μmol g?1 h?1 via water splitting under visible light irradiation (λ>420 nm) compared with those of reported MOF‐based photocatalysts. Moreover, the MOF nanosheets can be readily drop‐casted onto solid substrates, forming thin films while still retaining their photocatalytic activity, which is highly desirable for practical solar H2 production.  相似文献

Materials with hysteretic multi‐step spin‐crossover (SCO) have potential application in high‐order data storage. Here, an unprecedented hysteretic four‐step SCO behavior with the sequence of LS↔HS0.25LS0.75↔HS0.5LS0.5↔ HS0.75LS0.25↔HS is found in a three‐dimensional (3D) Hofmann‐type metal–organic framework (MOF), which is evidenced by magnetic, differential scanning calorimetry, and crystal data. Further experiments involving guest exchange leads to the first reversible modulation of four‐, two‐, and one‐stepped SCO behaviors, which provides a new strategy for developing multi‐step SCO materials.  相似文献

The topotactic conversion of cobalt phosphide nanoarray on Ti mesh into a cobalt phosphate nanoarray (Co‐Pi NA) via oxidative polarization in phosphate‐buffered water is presented. As a 3D oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst electrode at neutral pH, the resulting Co‐Pi NA/Ti shows exceptionally high catalytic activity and demands an overpotential of only 450 mV to drive a geometrical catalytic current density of 10 mA cm−2. Notably, this catalyst also shows superior long‐term electrochemical stability. The excellent catalytic activity can be attributed to that such 3D nanoarray configuration allows for the exposure of more active sites and the easier diffusion of electrolytes and oxygen.  相似文献

The integration of heterometallic units and nanostructures into metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) used for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) can enhance the electrocatalytic performance and help elucidate underlying mechanisms. We have synthesized a series of stable MOFs (CTGU‐10a1–d1) based on trinuclear metal carboxylate clusters and a hexadentate carboxylate ligand with a (6,6)‐connected nia net. We also present a strategy to synthesize hierarchical bimetallic MOF nanostructures (CTGU‐10a2–d2). Among these, CTGU‐10c2 is the best material for the OER, with an overpotential of 240 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm?2 and a Tafel slope of 58 mV dec?1. This is superior to RuO2 and confirms CTGU‐10c2 as one of the few known high‐performing pure‐phase MOF‐OER electrocatalysts. Notably, bimetallic CTGU‐10b2 and c2 show an improved OER activity over monometallic CTGU‐10a2 and d2. Both DFT and experiments show that the remarkable OER performance of CTGU‐10c2 is due to the presence of unsaturated metal sites, a hierarchical nanobelt architecture, and the Ni–Co coupling effect.  相似文献
