Two new Cysteine and Methionine derivatives of aminophenol ligands (HLCys and HLMet) were synthesized by a convenient procedure. The ligands were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR spectroscopies, ESI‐MS, elemental analysis and optical activity measurements. Iron(III) complexes (FeLCys and FeLMet) of these ligands were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic, magnetic susceptibility studies and cyclic voltammetry techniques. The molecular structure of FeLCys and FeLMet determined by ESI‐MS consist of two ligands coordinated to Fe(III) centers. The magnetic susceptibility measurement indicates the monomeric complexes with paramagnetic properties. Both complexes undergo metal‐centred reduction, and ligand‐centred oxidation.  相似文献

Azo Schiff base ligand 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-(tolyldiazenyl)benzaldehyde oxime (HL1) and 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy-5-(methoxyphenyl)benzaldehyde oxime (HL2) were prepared along with their transition metal complexes of Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II). Ligands and their metal complexes were characterized by several analysis techniques. In- vitro antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of synthesized ligands and their metal complexes have been studied. Biological study showed that amongst all the synthesized compounds, Cu(II) complexes possessed excellent antibacterial activity than standard antibiotic Chloramphenicol. Ligands (HL1) and (HL2) showed excellent antioxidant as well as anti-inflammatory activity. Both the ligands were tested for their protective effect of free radicals against plasmid DNA and it was found that both the ligands showed good DNA nicking activity.  相似文献

A series of new 3d-metal complexes based on 2-amino-3-(1-methylbenzimidazol-2-yl)-4(5H)-ketothiophen (HL1) and 2-amino-3-(2-benzothiazolyl)-4(5H)-ketothiophen (HL2) were synthesized. Compounds of the general formulas [ML2] and [M(HL1)2Cl2] (where M = Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+, Cu2+) were prepared by the reaction of the above mentioned ligands with the corresponding acetate (for [ML2]) or chloride (for [M(HL1)2Cl2]) salts in a methanol or a methanol–chloroform medium. The choice of the anion in the initial metal salt, as well as the selection of the ligand, is crucial for obtaining coordination compounds with a neutral or deprotonated form of the 2-amino-4(5H)-ketothiophens. Thus, in contrast to HL1, complexes with the neutral form of HL2 cannot be obtained under the same conditions. All the complexes were studied by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystallography (for [CuL12] · H2O). The coordination polyhedron of the copper atom is formed by four nitrogen atoms from two ligand anions and the geometry of the coordination sphere is intermediate between tetrahedral and square-planar.  相似文献

Three ruthenium(II) hydrazone complexes of composition [RuCl(CO)(PPh3)2L] were synthesized from the reactions of [RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3] with hydrazones derived from 4‐methoxybenzhydrazide and 4‐formylbenzoic acid (HL1), 4‐methylbenzaldehyde (HL2) and 2‐bromobenzaldehyde (HL3). The synthesized hydrazone ligands and their metal complexes were characterized using elemental analysis and infrared, UV–visible, NMR (1H, 13C and 31P) and mass spectral techniques. The hydrazone ligands act as bidentate ones, with O and N as the donor sites, and are predominantly found in the enol form in all the complexes studied. The molecular structures of the ligands HL1, HL2 and HL3 were determined using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The interactions of the ligands and the complexes with calf thymus DNA were studied using absorption spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry which revealed that the compounds could interact with calf thymus DNA through intercalation. The DNA cleavage activity of the complexes was evaluated using a gel electrophoresis assay which revealed that the complexes act as good DNA cleavage agents. In addition, all the complexes were subjected to antioxidant assay, which showed that they all possess significant scavenging activity against 2,2‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl, OH and NO radicals. The in vitro cytotoxic effect of the complexes examined on cancerous cell lines (HeLa and MCF‐7) showed that the complexes exhibit substantial anticancer activity. Anodic oxidation of cobalt and copper metals in an anhydrous acetone solution of pyridine-2-(1H)-thione-3-cyano-4-(2-bromophenyl)-5,6-ring fused cycloheptane (HL1) and its derivatives, (HL2), (HL3), (HL4), (HL5), (HL6), (HL7), (HL8), and (HL9) yields complexes of composition [M(L)2·(H2O)2]·n H2O and [M(L)2·(acetone)2], where M = Co(II) or Cu(II) and L is the ligand. Also, reaction of an aqueous ethanolic solution of Co(Ac)2·2H2O with the previous ligands was prepared. Elemental analysis, and infrared and electronic spectral data are presented to confirm the formulation of the amorphous complexes. The spectral data indicate that the ligands are coordinated to the metal via the thioenol sulfur atom and the nitrogen atom of cyano groups. The ligands reacts in the enol form through the anodic dissolution of the ligands or during the reaction with metal salts. The ligand field parameters and crystal field splitting energies, Δo, for different cobalt metal complexes were calculated.  相似文献

Neutral oxorhenium(V) complexes with thiosemicarbazones derived from 2‐pyridine formamide, HL1, are formed when [ReOCl3(PPh3)2] reacts with equimolar amounts of the ligands. Reduction of the metal and the formation of rhenium(III) complexes of the composition [Re(L1)2]+ occurs when an excess of thiosemicarbazones is used and the reaction is performed in boiling toluene for a prolonged period of time. The thiosemicarbazones deprotonate and act as tridentate ligands as has been confirmed by an X‐ray structure of [ReOCl2(L1b)], where HL1b is 2‐pyridineformamide‐N(4)‐ethylthiosemicarbazone and the ligand occupies the equatorial coordination sphere of the complex together with one of the chloro ligands.  相似文献

Two novel Schiff base ligands of 2-amino-3-cyano-1,5-diphenylpyrrole and salicylaldehyde (HL1) or 2- hydroxy1-naphthylaldehyde (HL2) and their copper(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, spectral (UV-Vis, IR, EPR, Mass (for ligands)), thermal (DTA-TGA) methods, magnetic and conductance measurements. IR results demonstrate the bidentate binding of the Schiff base ligands involving azomethine nitrogen, phenolic or naphtholic oxygen and suggest the presence of HL2 and complexes (1, 2, 4 and 8) in enolimine-ketonamine tautomeric forms in the solid state. The EPR spectral data of complexes (2, 5, 6) show that the metal — ligand bonds have considerable covalent character. The thermal studies show that complexes (1, 2, 4 and 8) that are present in enolimine-ketonamine tautomeric forms exhibit lower thermal stability. The effect of synthesized ligands (HL1, HL2) and complexes (1, 5) were tested on the mortality of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora and Steinernema carpocapsae). The study shows that the mortality of the nematodes increased with increasing concentrations of copper(II) ion, ligands and complexes. Copper(II) ion was the most toxic for EPN.   相似文献

Vicinal carbonyl oxime (HL1) and oxime-imine (H2L2) ligands and their mononuclear Ru(III) and Cu(II), heterodinuclear Ru(III)-Mn(II), Ru(III)-Ni(II), Ru(III)-Cu(II), and heterotrinuclear Ru(III)-Cu(II)-Ru(III) chelates were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, IR, ESR, ICP-OES, magnetic moment measurements, and thermal analyses studies. The free ligands were also characterized by 1H NMR spectra. The carbonyl-oxime ligand coordinates through the oxygen of =N-OH to form a six-membered chelate ring. The quadridentate tetraaza ligand (H2L2) obtained by condensing of the bidentate ligand 1-p-diphenylmethane-2-hydroxyimino-2-(1-naphthylamino)-1-ethanone (HL1) with 1,2-phenylenediamine coordinates with Ru(III) through its nitrogen donors in the equatorial position with the loss of one of the oxime protons and concomitant formation of an intramolecular hydrogen bond. Stoichiometric and spectral results of the metal complexes indicated that the metal: ligand ratios in the mononuclear complexes of the ligand (HL1) were found to be 1: 2, while these ratios were 1: 1 in the mononuclear complexes of the ligand (H2L2). The metal: ligand ratios of the dinuclear complexes were found to be 2: 1, and this ratio was 3: 2 in the trinuclear complex. The article is published in the original.  相似文献

Two bidentate Schiff base ligands (HL1 = Nn‐butyl‐4‐[(E)‐2‐(((2‐aminoethyl)imino)methyl)phenol]‐1,8‐naphthalimide; and HL2 = Nn‐butyl‐4‐[(E)‐2‐(((2‐aminoethyl)imino)methyl)‐6‐methoxyphenol]‐1,8‐naphthalimide) with their metal complexes [Cu(L1)2] ( 1 ), [Zn(L1)2(Py)]2?H2O ( 2 ) and [Ni(L2)2(DMF)2] ( 3 ) have been synthesized and characterized. Single‐crystal X‐ray structure analysis reveals that complex 1 has a four‐coordinated square geometry, while complex 2 is a five‐coordinated square pyramidal structure and complex 3 is a distorted six‐coordinated octahedral structure. Cyclic voltammograms of 1 indicate an irreversible Cu2+/Cu+ couple. In vitro antioxidant activity assay demonstrates that the ligands and the two complexes 1 and 3 display high scavenging activity against hydroxyl (HO?) and superoxide (O2??) radicals. Moreover, the fluorescence properties of the ligands and complexes 1 – 3 were studied in the solid state. Metal‐mediated enhancement is observed in 2 , whereas metal‐mediated fluorescence quenching occurs with 1 and 3 .  相似文献

New Schiff base ligands derived from vanillin (HL1), 4-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (HL2) and 3,5-di-t-butyl-4-hydroxybenzaldehyde (HL3) with N-(pyridyl)-3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-5-aminobenzylamine (2) and their copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), oxovanadium(IV) and zinc(II) transition metal complexes have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, electronic and i.r. spectra, molar conductance data and by 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectra. The results indicate that the ligands coordinate through azomethine nitrogen and phenolic oxygen to the metal ions. In like manner, it was found that the pyridine and amine nitrogen atoms are not coordinated to the metal ions. The 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectral data confirmed the suggested structure for the Schiff base ligands, and the mass spectra results confirmed the proposed structure of the ligands. The antimicrobial activity properties of the ligands and their metal complexes have been studied.  相似文献

A new series of twelve bidentate Schiff's base ligands (HL1–12) was synthesized via condensation of 5‐(arylazo)salicylaldehydes with aromatic amines. When the new salicylaldimine derivatives were reacted with copper(II) chloride, the neutral complexes Cu(L1–12)2 were obtained. The structure of the copper complexes was established from microanalyses, IR and UV spectra and thermal analyses. The results suggested that the ligands were coordinated to the metal ion in a bidentate manner with ON donor sites of the deprotonated phenolic‐OH and azomethine‐N. The composition of the complexes can be represented as CuL2. Evaluation of antimicrobial activity for the synthesized compounds was carried out to probe their activity. The compounds were found to have weak antimicrobial activity.  相似文献

An unexpected polyhydroxyl‐bridged tetranuclear ZnII complex and a benzoquinone compound derived from metal‐ion promoted reactivity of Schiff base ligands were synthesized and characterized. The reaction of zinc(II) acetate dihydrate with oxime‐type Schiff base ligand HL1 [HL1 = 1‐(3‐((3,5‐dibromosalicylaldehyde)amino)phenyl)ethan‐1‐one O‐benzyl oxime] in methanol, acetone, and acetonitrile resulted in the chemoselective cleavage of the C=N bond of the Schiff base HL1, and then the further addition of acetone to two salicylaldehyde molecules derived from cleavage of the C=N bond in situ α,α double aldol reaction promoted by ZnII ions. The newly formed ligands H4L2 coordinate to four ZnII ions forming a defect‐dicubane core structure [ZnII4(H2L2)23‐OCH3)2(μ‐OCH3)2(CH3OH)2] ( 1 ) bridged exclusively by oxygen‐based ligands. The similar ligand HL3 [HL3 = 1‐(3‐((3,5‐dichlorosalicylaldehyde)amino)phenyl)ethan‐1‐one O‐benzyl oxime)] was employed to react with CdII acetate dihydrate under the same reaction conditions. No aldol addition occurred but a unexpected benzoquinone compound 2,5‐bis(((3‐(1‐((benzyloxy)imino)ethyl)phenyl)imino)methyl)‐1,4‐benzoquinone ( 2 ) formed. The results provided interesting insights into one‐pot routes involving in situ reactions act as a strategy for obtaining a variety of polymeric/polynuclear complexes which are inconvenient to obtain from directly presynthesizing the ligands.  相似文献

Three new heteroscorpionate ligands, (2‐hydroxyphenyl)bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)methane (HL1), (4‐diethylamino‐2‐hydroxyphenyl)bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)methane (HL2) and (5‐bromo‐2‐hydroxyphenyl)bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)methane (HL3), and their heteroleptic copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(L1–3)diimine]ClO4 ( 1 – 6 ; where diimine =2,2′‐bipyridyl or 1,10‐phenanthroline) have been synthesized and characterized using spectroscopic methods. The molecular structure of ligand HL1 was determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. UV–visible, electron paramagnetic resonance and theoretical studies suggest a distorted square pyramidal geometry around copper(II) ion. Analyses of highest occupied and lowest unoccupied molecular orbitals have been used to explain the charge transfer taking place within the complexes. The antioxidant activities of the heteroscorpionate ligands and their heteroleptic copper(II) complexes were determined using ABTS, DPPH and H2O2 free radical scavenging assays with respect to standard antioxidant ascorbic acid. In molecular docking studies, the complexes showed π–π, hydrogen bonding, van der Waals and electrostatic interactions with fibroblast growth factor receptor kinase. In vitro cytotoxicity activities of ligands and copper(II) complexes were examined on human breast adenocarcinoma (MCF‐7), cervical (HeLa) and lung (A549) cancer cell lines and normal human dermal fibroblast cell line using MTT assay. Complex 4 exhibited higher anticancer activity than the other complexes against all three cancer lines, being more potent than the standard drug cisplatin.  相似文献

Synthetic routes to new square planar cobalt complexes with redox-active amidophenolate chelates are presented. Contrary to previous reports, steric bulk on the ligands is not a prerequisite to formation of the low-coordinate materials. X-ray crystal structure metrical data of the neutral S = ½ complexes are most consistent with cobalt(III) bound to one iminobenzoseminonate(1–) radical and one amidophenolate(2–) ligand. Addition of 1e affords reduced congeners that are also square planar cobalt(III) because the redox-active ligand accepts an electron to generate bis(amidophenolate) species. The redox-activity of the ligands facilitates reactions with chlorine electrophiles to generate square pyramidal products containing new Co–Cl bonds. The bond-forming reactions all formally require oxidation of the metal fragment but there is no change in formal cobalt oxidation state. Instead, the reaction proceeds with oxidation of the amidophenolate ligands. Control of ligand oxidation state provides a mechanism for 1e versus 2e selectivity in the bond-forming redox reactions.  相似文献

[ReNCl2(PPh3)2] and [ReNCl2(PMe2Ph)3] react with the N‐heterocyclic carbene (NHC) 1,3,4‐triphenyl‐1,2,4‐triazol‐5‐ylidene (HLPh) under formation of the stable rhenium(V) nitrido complex [ReNCl(HLPh)(LPh)], which contains one of the two NHC ligands with an additional orthometallation. The rhenium atom in the product is five‐coordinate with a distorted square‐pyramidal coordination sphere. The position trans to the nitrido ligand is blocked by one phenyl ring of the monodentate HLPh ligand. The Re–C(carbene) bond lengths of 2.072(6) and 2.074(6) Å are comparably long and indicate mainly σ‐bonding between the NHC ligand and the electron deficient d2 metal atom. The chloro ligand in [ReNCl(HLPh)(LPh)] is labile and can be replaced by ligands such as pseudohalides or monoanionic thiolates such as diphenyldithiophosphinate (Ph2PS2?) or pyridine‐2‐thiolate (pyS?). X‐ray structure analyses of [ReN(CN)(HLPh)(LPh)] and [ReN(pyS)(HLPh)(LPh)] show that the bonding situation of the NHC ligands (Re–C(carbene) distances between 2.086(3) and 2.130(3) Å) in the product is not significantly influenced by the ligand exchange. The potentially bidentate pyS? ligand is solely coordinated via its thiolato functionality. Hydrogen atoms of each one of the phenyl rings come close to the unoccupied sixth coordination positions of the rhenium atoms in the solid state structures of all complexes. Re–H distances between 2.620 and 2.712Å do not allow to discuss bonding, but with respect to the strong trans labilising influence of “N3?”, weak interactions are indicated.  相似文献

Reaction of a non‐innocent o‐aminophenol benzoxazole based ligand HLBAP with VOCl3 afforded a vanadyl complex, VOLBIS (SQ), in which SQ is a 2,4‐di‐tert‐butylsemiquinone produced from hydrolysis of HLBAP. The crystal structure of VOLBIS (SQ) exhibits an octahedral geometry with the VO2+ center coordinated by two nitrogen and one oxygen atoms of LBAP and two oxygen atoms of SQ. Electrochemical studies showed quasi‐reversible metal‐centered reduction and ligand‐centered oxidation of complex. The magnetic moment of VOLBIS (SQ) is consistent with the spin‐only value expected for S = 1/2 system. The neutral species of VOLBIS (SQ) is EPR active, which is consistent with a paramagnetic electronic ground state (S = 1/2). This result is in accordance with the vanadyl (IV) moiety surrounded by tridentate iminobenzosemiquinonate anion radical (HLBIS)?‐ and benzosemiquinone ligand (SQ)?. The theoretical calculations confirm the experimental results. Furthermore, we present the optimal conditions for maximum efficiency of sulfide oxidation for oxidative desulfurization with hydrogen peroxide and 6 times reusability of catalyst for sulfoxidation of dibenzothiophene.  相似文献

Synthesis of four different types of ligands Ar[COC(NOH)R] n (Ar = biphenyl, n = 1, HL1; Ar = biphenyl, n = 2, H2L2; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 1, HL3; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 2, H2L4; R = furfurylamine in all ligands) and their dinuclear Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ complexes is reported herein. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, ICP-OES, FT-IR spectra, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. The ligands were further characterized by 1H NMR. The results suggest that dinuclear complexes of HL1 and HL3 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 2 and dinuclear complexes H2L2 and H2L4 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 1. Square pyramidal or octahedral structures are proposed for complexes of oxime ligands. Furthermore, extraction abilities of the four ligands were also evaluated in chloroform using selected transition metal picrates such as Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+. The ligands show strong binding ability towards Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions.  相似文献

The geometry of metal ions (La3+, Ce3+, UO, and Th4+) complexes with 5‐azorhodanine derivatives was optimized at the level of molecular mechanics. Two stoichiometric ratios of metal to ligand (i.e., 1:1 and 1:2) were investigated. Tetracoordinate and hexacoordinate of each stoichiometric ratio have been studied. Effect of substitution in the ligand on the geometry of the complexes was discussed in the light of electron donating–accepting properties of these substituents. The influence of the nuclear effective charge of the central metal ions on the metal–ligand (M–L) bonding was discussed and the effect of the number of ligands on the M–L bond length was also discussed and correlated to the experimental results. The total energies of the different metal complexes were computed using the extended Huckel method. The effect of substituents in ligand, metal type, and stoichiometry of the complexes on the complex total energies were discussed. Stability constant of (La3+, Ce3+, UO, and Th4+) metal ions with 5‐azorhodanine derivaties have been determined potentiometrically in 0.1 M KCl and 50% (v/v) ethanol–water mixture. The order of the stability constants of the formed complexes was found to be La3+ < Ce3+ < UO < Th4+. The influence of substituents on the stability of the complexes was examined on the basis of electron‐repelling property of the substituent. The effect of temperature on the stability of the complexes formed was studied and the corresponding thermodynamic parameters (ΔG, ΔH, and ΔS) were derived and discussed. The stoichiometries of these complexes were determined conductometrically and indicated the formation of 1:1 and 1:2 (metal:ligand) complexes. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This presentation reports some novel examples of organic ring amination reactions via metal mediation. The organic transformations are highly regioselective and can be controlled by the proper selection of the mediator complex. The two isomeric organic ligands viz. HL1 and HL2 were isolated in their pure states by the removal of the metal ions. These were fully characterized. The ligand HL1 has lowpKa, 8.5. Upon deprotonation, it behaves as a potentialbis chelating N,N,N-donors. The coordination chemistry of the HL1 ligand involving some 3d-metal ions is described. Two unusual low-spin complexes of manganese(II) and iron(III) are reported. The ferric complex displayed a rhombic EPR while, the corresponding manganese compound showed a complex pattern due to hyperfine coupling. All the complexes displayed large number of redox responses. A brief mention about the future projection of this work is noted.  相似文献
