Energy storage devices, such as lithium‐ion batteries and supercapacitors, are required for the modern electronics. However, the intrinsic characteristics of low power densities in batteries and low energy densities in supercapacitors have limited their applications. How to simultaneously realize high energy and power densities in one device remains a challenge. Herein a fiber‐shaped hybrid energy‐storage device (FESD) formed by twisting three carbon nanotube hybrid fibers demonstrates both high energy and power densities. For the FESD, the energy density (50 mWh cm?3 or 90 Wh kg?1) many times higher than for other forms of supercapacitors and approximately 3 times that of thin‐film batteries; the power density (1 W cm?3 or 5970 W kg?1) is approximately 140 times of thin‐film lithium‐ion battery. The FESD is flexible, weaveable and wearable, which offers promising advantages in the modern electronics.  相似文献

Highly dispersed Ni nanoparticles (NPs) and abundant functional N‐species were integrated into ultrathin carbon nanosheets by using a facile and economical sol–gel route. Embedded‐ and anchored‐type configurations were achieved for the dispersion of Ni NPs in/on N‐rich carbon nanosheets. The anchored‐type composite exhibited outstanding pseudocapacitance of 2200 F g?1 at 5 A g?1 with unusual rate capability and extraordinary cyclic stability over 20 000 cycles with little capacitance decay. Aqueous asymmetric supercapacitors fabricated with this composite cathode demonstrated a high energy density of 51.3 Wh kg?1 at a relatively large power density of 421.6 W kg?1, along with outstanding cyclic stability. This approach opens an attractive direction for enhancing the electrochemical performances of metal‐based supercapacitors and can be generalized to design high‐performance energy‐storage devices.  相似文献

Thick, uniform, easily processed, highly conductive polymer films are desirable as electrodes for solar cells as well as polymer capacitors. Here, a novel scalable strategy is developed to prepare highly conductive thick poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrene sulfonate (HCT‐PEDOT:PSS) films with layered structure that display a conductivity of 1400 S cm?1 and a low sheet resistance of 0.59 ohm sq?1. Organic solar cells with laminated HCT‐PEDOT:PSS exhibit a performance comparable to the reference devices with vacuum‐deposited Ag top electrodes. More importantly, the HCT‐PEDOT:PSS film delivers a specific capacitance of 120 F g?1 at a current density of 0.4 A g?1. All‐solid‐state flexible symmetric supercapacitors with the HCT‐PEDOT:PSS films display a high volumetric energy density of 6.80 mWh cm?3 at a power density of 100 mW cm?3 and 3.15 mWh cm?3 at a very high power density of 16160 mW cm?3 that outperforms previous reported solid‐state supercapacitors based on PEDOT materials.  相似文献

Zinc‐based electrochemistry is attracting significant attention for practical energy storage owing to its uniqueness in terms of low cost and high safety. However, the grid‐scale application is plagued by limited output voltage and inadequate energy density when compared with more conventional Li‐ion batteries. Herein, we propose a latent high‐voltage MnO2 electrolysis process in a conventional Zn‐ion battery, and report a new electrolytic Zn–MnO2 system, via enabled proton and electron dynamics, that maximizes the electrolysis process. Compared with other Zn‐based electrochemical devices, this new electrolytic Zn–MnO2 battery has a record‐high output voltage of 1.95 V and an imposing gravimetric capacity of about 570 mAh g?1, together with a record energy density of approximately 409 Wh kg?1 when both anode and cathode active materials are taken into consideration. The cost was conservatively estimated at <US$ 10 per kWh. This result opens a new opportunity for the development of Zn‐based batteries, and should be of immediate benefit for low‐cost practical energy storage and grid‐scale applications.  相似文献

For the practical extraction of uranium from seawater, adsorbents with high adsorption capacity, fast equilibrium rate, high selectivity, and long service life are needed. Herein, a chimeric spidroin‐based super uranyl‐binding protein (SSUP) fiber was designed by fusing the gene of super uranyl‐binding protein (SUP) with the gene of spidroin. SUP endowed the SSUP fiber with high affinity and selectivity to uranium, and spidroin gave the SSUP fiber with high mechanical strength and high reusability. The wet SSUP fiber is a water‐rich hydrogel‐like structure, which provided abundant hydrophilic intermolecular space for the entrance of uranyl ions, and could accelerate the rate for uranium adsorption. In seawater, the SSUP fiber achieved a breakthrough uranium extraction capacity of 12.33 mg g?1 with an ultrashort equilibration time of 3.5 days, suggesting that SSUP fiber might be a promising adsorbent for uranium extraction from the natural seawater.  相似文献

We report a novel multicomponent mixed‐valence oxyhydroxide‐based electrode synthesized by electrochemical polarization of a de‐alloyed nanoporous NiCuMn alloy. The multicomponent oxyhydroxide has a high specific capacitance larger than 627 F cm?3 (1097±95 F g?1) at a current density of 0.25 A cm?3, originating from multiple redox reactions. More importantly, the oxyhydroxide electrode possesses an extraordinarily wide working‐potential window of 1.8 V in an aqueous electrolyte, which far exceeds the theoretically stable window of water. The realization of both high specific capacitance and high working‐potential windows gives rise to a high energy density, 51 mWh cm?3, of the multicomponent oxyhydroxide‐based supercapacitor for high‐energy and high‐power applications.  相似文献

Porous carbons (PC) were prepared from a waste biomass named chestnut shell via a two‐step method involving carbonization and KOH activation. The morphology, pore structure and surface chemical properties were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 sorption, Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The carbons have been evaluated as the electrode materials for supercapacitors by a two‐electrode system in 6 mol/L KOH electrolyte. Benefiting from the porous texture, high surface area and high oxygen content, the PCs derived from chestnut shell have exhibited high specific capacitance of 198.2 (PC‐1), 217.2 (PC‐2) and 238.2 F·g?1 (PC‐3) at a current density of 0.1 A·g?1, good rate capability of 55.7%, 56.6% and 54.9% in a range of 0.1–20 A·g?1 and high energy density of 5.6, 6.1 and 6.7 Wh·kg?1, respectively. This is believed to be due to electric double layer capacitance induced by the abundant micropores and extra pseudo‐capacitance generated by oxygen‐containing groups. At a power density of 9000 Wh·kg?1, the energy density is 3.1, 3.5 and 3.7 Wh·kg?1 for PC‐1, PC‐2 and PC‐3, respectively, demonstrating the potential of the carbons derived from chestnut shells in energy storage devices.  相似文献

By chemical cross‐linking the amidoxime group onto dual‐surfaces of natural ore materials, namely halloysite nanotubes (HNTs), an efficient adsorbent, AO‐HNTs, is developed. AO‐HNTs show high uranium adsorption capacity of 456.24 mg g?1 in 32 ppm uranium‐spiked simulated seawater. In natural seawater, AO‐HNTs reach the high uranium extraction capacity of 9.01 mg g?1 after 30 days’ field test. The dual‐surface amidoximated hollow nanotubular AO‐HNTs exhibit more coordination active sites for uranium adsorption, which is attributed to the high and fast uranium adsorption capacity. Because of the stable natural ore structure, AO‐HNTs also show long service life. Benefiting from the low cost of HNTs, the cost for uranium extraction from seawater is close to the uranium price in the spot uranium market, suggesting that AO‐HNTs could be used for economical extraction of uranium from the oceans.  相似文献

Cost‐effective and high‐performance electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reactions (ORR) are needed for many energy storage and conversion devices. Here, we demonstrate that whey powder, a major by‐product in the dairy industry, can be used as a sustainable precursor to produce heteroatom doped carbon electrocatalysts for ORR. Rich N and S compounds in whey powders can generate abundant catalytic active sites. However, these sites are not easily accessible by reactants of ORR. A dual‐template method was used to create a hierarchically and interconnected porous structure with micropores created by ZnCl2 and large mesopores generated by fumed SiO2 particles. At the optimum mass ratio of whey power: ZnCl2 : SiO2 at 1 : 3 : 0.8, the resulting carbon material has a large specific surface area close to 2000 m2 g?1, containing 4.6 at.% of N with 39.7% as pyridinic N. This carbon material shows superior electrocatalytic activity for ORR, with an electron transfer number of 3.88 and a large kinetic limiting current density of 45.40 mA cm?2. They were employed as ORR catalysts to assemble primary zinc‐air batteries, which deliver a power density of 84.1 mW cm?2 and a specific capacity of 779.5 mAh g?1, outperforming batteries constructed using a commercial Pt/C catalyst. Our findings open new opportunities to use an abundant biomaterial, whey powder, to create high‐value‐added carbon electrocatalysts for emerging energy applications.  相似文献

The fabrication of flexible, stretchable and rechargeable devices with a high energy density is critical for next‐generation electronics. Herein, fiber‐shaped Zn–air batteries, are realized for the first time by designing aligned, cross‐stacked and porous carbon nanotube sheets simultaneously that behave as a gas diffusion layer, a catalyst layer, and a current collector. The combined remarkable electronic and mechanical properties of the aligned carbon nanotube sheets endow good electrochemical properties. They display excellent discharge and charge performances at a high current density of 2 A g?1. They are also flexible and stretchable, which is particularly promising to power portable and wearable electronic devices.  相似文献

Recently, hydrovoltaic technology emerged as a novel renewable energy harvesting method, which dramatically extends the capability to harvest water energy. However, the urgent issue restricting its device performance is poor carrier transport properties of the solid surface if large charged interface is considered simultaneously. Herein, a hydrovoltaic device based on silicon nanowire arrays (SiNWs), which provide large charged surface/volume ratio and excellent carrier transport properties, yields sustained electricity by a carrier concentration gradient induced by evaporation‐induced water flow inside nanochannels. The device can yield direct current with a short‐circuit current density of over 55 μA cm?2, which is three orders larger than a previously reported analogous device (approximately 40 nA cm?2). Moreover, it exhibits a constant output power density of over 6 μW cm?2 and an open‐circuit voltage of up to 400 mV. Our finding may pave a way for developing energy‐harvesting devices from ubiquitous evaporation‐driven internal water flow in nature with semiconductor material of silicon.  相似文献

For the first time, hierarchically porous carbon materials with a sandwich‐like structure are synthesized through a facile and efficient tri‐template approach. The hierarchically porous microstructures consist of abundant macropores and numerous micropores embedded into the crosslinked mesoporous walls. As a result, the obtained carbon material with a unique sandwich‐like structure has a relatively high specific surface (1235 m2 g?1), large pore volume (1.30 cm3 g?1), and appropriate pore size distribution. These merits lead to a comparably high specific capacitance of 274.8 F g?1 at 0.2 A g?1 and satisfying rate performance (87.7 % retention from 1 to 20 A g?1). More importantly, the symmetric supercapacitor with two identical as‐prepared carbon samples shows a superior energy density of 18.47 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 179.9 W kg?1. The asymmetric supercapacitor based on as‐obtained carbon sample and its composite with manganese dioxide (MnO2) can reach up to an energy density of 25.93 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 199.9 W kg?1. Therefore, these unique carbon material open a promising prospect for future development and utilization in the field of energy storage.  相似文献

Bipolar redox organics have attracted interest as electrode materials for energy storage owing to their flexibility, sustainability and environmental friendliness. However, an understanding of their application in all‐organic batteries, let alone dual‐ion batteries (DIBs), is in its infancy. Herein, we propose a strategy to screen a variety of phthalocyanine‐based bipolar organics. The self‐polymerizable bipolar Cu tetraaminephthalocyanine (CuTAPc) shows multifunctional applications in various energy storage systems, including lithium‐based DIBs using CuTAPc as the cathode material, graphite‐based DIBs using CuTAPc as the anode material and symmetric DIBs using CuTAPc as both the cathode and anode materials. Notably, in lithium‐based DIBs, the use of CuTAPc as the cathode material results in a high discharge capacity of 236 mAh g?1 at 50 mA g?1 and a high reversible capacity of 74.3 mAh g?1 after 4000 cycles at 4 A g?1. Most importantly, a high energy density of 239 Wh kg?1 and power density of 11.5 kW kg?1 can be obtained in all‐organic symmetric DIBs.  相似文献

Although lithium–oxygen batteries possess a high theoretical energy density and are considered as promising candidates for next‐generation power systems, the enhancement of safety and cycling efficiency of the lithium anodes while maintaining the high energy storage capability remains difficult. Here, we overcome this challenge by cross‐stacking aligned carbon nanotubes into porous networks for ultrahigh‐capacity lithium anodes to achieve high‐performance lithium–oxygen batteries. The novel anode shows a reversible specific capacity of 3656 mAh g?1, approaching the theoretical capacity of 3861 mAh g?1 of pure lithium. When this anode is employed in lithium–oxygen full batteries, the cycling stability is significantly enhanced, owing to the dendrite‐free morphology and stabilized solid–electrolyte interface. This work presents a new pathway to high performance lithium–oxygen batteries towards practical applications by designing cross‐stacked and aligned structures for one‐dimensional conducting nanomaterials.  相似文献

A conceptually new all‐solid‐state asymmetric supercapacitor based on atomically thin sheets is presented which offers the opportunity to optimize supercapacitor properties on an atomic level. As a prototype, β‐Co(OH)2 single layers with five‐atoms layer thickness were synthesized through an oriented‐attachment strategy. The increased density‐of‐states and 100 % exposed hydrogen atoms endow the β‐Co(OH)2 single‐layers‐based electrode with a large capacitance of 2028 F g?1. The corresponding all‐solid‐state asymmetric supercapacitor achieves a high cell voltage of 1.8 V and an exceptional energy density of 98.9 Wh kg?1 at an ultrahigh power density of 17 981 W kg?1. Also, this integrated nanodevice exhibits excellent cyclability with 93.2 % capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles, holding great promise for constructing high‐energy storage nanodevices.  相似文献

The sodium‐ion battery is a promising battery technology owing to its low price and high abundance of sodium. However, the sluggish kinetics of sodium ion makes it hard to achieve high‐rate performance, therefore impairing the power density. In this work, a fiber‐in‐tube Co9S8‐carbon(C)/Co9S8 is designed with fast sodiation kinetics. The experimental and simulation analysis show that the dominating capacitance mechanism for the high Na‐ion storage performance is due to abundant grain boundaries, three exposed layer interfaces, and carbon wiring in the design. As a result, the fiber‐in‐tube hybrid anode shows a high specific capacity of 616 mAh g?1 after 150 cycles at 0.5 A g?1. At 1 A g?1, a capacity of ca. 451 mAh g?1 can be achieved after 500 cycles. More importantly, a high energy density of 779 Wh kg?1 and power density of 7793 W kg?1 can be obtained simultaneously.  相似文献

Two alcohol‐soluble electron‐transport materials (ETMs), diphenyl(4‐(1‐phenyl‐1H‐benzo[d]imidazol‐2‐yl)phenyl)phosphine oxide (pPBIPO) and (3,5‐bis(1‐phenyl‐1H‐benzo[d]imidazol‐2‐yl)phenyl)diphenylphosphine oxide (mBPBIPO), have been synthesized. The physical properties of these ETMs were investigated and they both exhibited high electron‐transport mobilities (1.67×10?4 and 2.15×10?4 cm2 V?1 s?1), high glass‐transition temperatures (81 and 110 °C), and low LUMO energy levels (?2.87 and ?2.82 eV, respectively). The solubility of PBIPO in n‐butyl alcohol was more than 20 mg mL?1, which meets the requirement for fully solution‐processed organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). Fully solution‐processed green‐phosphorescent OLEDs were fabricated by using alcohol‐soluble PBIPO as electron‐transport layers (ETLs), and they exhibited high current efficiencies, power efficiencies, and external quantum efficiencies of up to 38.43 cd A?1, 26.64 lm W?1, and 10.87 %, respectively. Compared with devices that did not contain PBIPO as an ETM, the performance of these devices was much improved, which indicated the excellent electron‐transport properties of PBIPO.  相似文献

The development of multivalent metal (such as Mg and Ca) based battery systems is hindered by lack of suitable cathode chemistry that shows reversible multi‐electron redox reactions. Cationic redox centres in the classical cathodes can only afford stepwise single‐electron transfer, which are not ideal for multivalent‐ion storage. The charge imbalance during multivalent ion insertion might lead to an additional kinetic barrier for ion mobility. Therefore, multivalent battery cathodes only exhibit slope‐like voltage profiles with insertion/extraction redox of less than one electron. Taking VS4 as a model material, reversible two‐electron redox with cationic–anionic contributions is verified in both rechargeable Mg batteries (RMBs) and rechargeable Ca batteries (RCBs). The corresponding cells exhibit high capacities of >300 mAh g?1 at a current density of 100 mA g?1 in both RMBs and RCBs, resulting in a high energy density of >300 Wh kg?1 for RMBs and >500 Wh kg?1 for RCBs. Mechanistic studies reveal a unique redox activity mainly at anionic sulfides moieties and fast Mg2+ ion diffusion kinetics enabled by the soft structure and flexible electron configuration of VS4.  相似文献

Multifunctional donor–acceptor compound 4,4′‐bis(dibenzothiophene‐S,S‐dioxide‐2‐yl)triphenylamine ( DSTPA ) was obtained by linking a strongly electron‐withdrawing core and a strongly electron‐donating core with a biphenyl bridge in linear spatial alignment. DSTPA not only has suitable HOMO and LUMO levels for easily accepting both holes and electrons, it was also demonstrated to have a high fluorescence quantum yield of 0.98 and a high triplet energy level of 2.39 eV. Versatile applications of DSTPA for bipolar transport, green fluorescent emission, and sensitizing a red phosphor were systematically investigated in a series of multi‐ and single‐layer organic light‐emitting devices. In traditional multilayer devices, it shows excellent performance both in an undoped fluorescent device (used as a green emitter and achieving maximum current and power efficiencies (CE and PE) of 12.6 cd A?1 and 9.4 Lm W?1, respectively) and in a red phosphorescent device (used as a host and achieving maximum CE and PE of 26.4 cd A?1 and 26.3 Lm W?1, respectively). Furthermore, DSTPA was also simultaneously used as an emitter, a hole transporter, and an electron transporter in a single‐layer device showing CE and PE of 5.1 cd A?1 and 4.7 Lm W?1, respectively. A single‐layer red phosphorescent device with efficiencies of 11.7 cd A?1 and 12.6 Lm W?1 was obtained by doping DSTPA with a red phosphor. The performances of all of the devices in this work are comparable to the best of their corresponding classes in the literature.  相似文献

Three‐dimensional, vertically aligned MnO/nitrogen‐doped graphene (3D MnO/N‐Gr) walls were prepared through facile solution‐phase synthesis followed by thermal treatment. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) was strategically added to generate cross‐links to simultaneously form 3D wall structures and to incorporate nitrogen atoms into the graphene network. The unique wall features of the as‐prepared 3D MnO/N‐Gr hybirdes provide a large surface area (91.516 m2 g?1) and allow for rapid diffusion of the ion electrolyte, resulting in a high specific capacitance of 378 F g?1 at 0.25 A g?1 and an excellent charge/discharge stability (93.7 % capacity retention after 8000 cycles) in aqueous 1 m Na2SO4 solution as electrolyte. Moreover, the symmetric supercapacitors that were rationally designed by using 3D MnO/N‐Gr hybrids exhibit outstanding electrochemical performance in an organic electrolyte with an energy density of 90.6 Wh kg?1 and a power density of 437.5 W kg?1.  相似文献
