We study metabelian Alperin groups, i.e., metabelian groups in which every 2-generated subgroup has a cyclic commutator subgroup. It is known that, if the minimum number d(G) of generators of a finite Alperin p-group G is n ≥ 3, then d(G′) ≤ C n 2 for p≠ 3 and d(G′) ≤ C n 2 + C n 3 for p = 3. The first section of the paper deals with finite Alperin p-groups G with p≠ 3 and d(G) = n ≥ 3 that have a homocyclic commutator subgroup of rank C n 2 . In addition, a corollary is deduced for infinite Alperin p-groups. In the second section, we prove that, if G is a finite Alperin 3-group with homocyclic commutator subgroup G- of rank C n 2 + C n 3 , then G″ is an elementary abelian group.  相似文献

Let G(r) denote the metaplectic covering group of the linear algebraic group G. In this paper we study conditions on unramified representations of the group G(r) not to have a nonzero Whittaker function. We state a general Conjecture about the possible unramified characters χ such that the unramified subrepresentation of \(Ind_{{B^{\left( r \right)}}}^{{G^{\left( r \right)}}}{X^{\delta _B^{1/2}}}\) will have no nonzero Whittaker function. We prove this Conjecture for the groups GL n ( r) with rn ? 1, and for the exceptional groups G 2 ( r) when r ≠ 2.  相似文献

An r-acyclic edge chromatic number of a graph G, denoted by a r r(G), is the minimum number of colors used to produce an edge coloring of the graph such that adjacent edges receive different colors and every cycle C has at least min {|C|, r} colors. We prove that a r r(G) ≤ (4r + 1)Δ(G), when the girth of the graph G equals to max{50, Δ(G)} and 4 ≤ r ≤ 7. If we relax the restriction of the girth to max {220, Δ(G)}, the upper bound of a r r(G) is not larger than (2r + 5)Δ(G) with 4 ≤ r ≤ 10.  相似文献

A k-total coloring of a graph G is a mapping ?: V (G) ? E(G) → {1; 2,..., k} such that no two adjacent or incident elements in V (G) ? E(G) receive the same color. Let f(v) denote the sum of the color on the vertex v and the colors on all edges incident with v: We say that ? is a k-neighbor sum distinguishing total coloring of G if f(u) 6 ≠ f(v) for each edge uvE(G): Denote χ Σ (G) the smallest value k in such a coloring of G: Pil?niak and Wo?niak conjectured that for any simple graph with maximum degree Δ(G), χ Σ ≤ Δ(G)+3. In this paper, by using the famous Combinatorial Nullstellensatz, we prove that for K 4-minor free graph G with Δ(G) > 5; χ Σ = Δ(G) + 1 if G contains no two adjacent Δ-vertices, otherwise, χ Σ (G) = Δ(G) + 2.  相似文献

We consider the problem of representing a solution to the Cauchy problem for an ordinary differential equation as a Fourier series in polynomials l r,k α (x) (k = 0, 1,...) that are Sobolev-orthonormal with respect to the inner product
$$\left\langle {f,g} \right\rangle = \sum\limits_{v = 0}^{r - 1} {{f^{(v)}}(0){g^{(v)}}} (0) + \int\limits_0^\infty {{f^{(r)}}(t)} {g^{(r)}}(t){t^\alpha }{e^{ - t}}dt$$
, and generated by the classical orthogonal Laguerre polynomials L k α (x) (k = 0, 1,...). The polynomials l r,k α (x) are represented as expressions containing the Laguerre polynomials L n α?r (x). An explicit form of the polynomials l r,k+r α (x) is established as an expansion in the powers x r+l , l = 0,..., k. These results can be used to study the asymptotic properties of the polynomials l r,k α (x) as k→∞and the approximation properties of the partial sums of Fourier series in these polynomials.

The renormalized coupling constants g 2k that enter the equation of state and determine nonlinear susceptibilities of the system have universal values g 2k * at the Curie point. We use the pseudo-ε-expansion approach to calculate them together with the ratios R 2k = g 2k /g 4 k-1 for the three-dimensional scalar λ ? 4 field theory. We derive pseudo-ε-expansions for g 6 * , g 8 * , R 6 * , and R 8 * in the five-loop approximation and present numerical estimates for R 6 * and R 8 * . The higher-order coefficients of the pseudo-ε-expansions for g 6 * and R 6 * are so small that simple Padé approximants turn out to suffice for very good numerical results. Using them gives R 6 * = 1.650, while the recent lattice calculation gave R 6 * = 1.649(2). The pseudo-ε-expansions of g 8 * and R 8 * are less favorable from the numerical standpoint. Nevertheless, Padé–Borel summation of the series for R 8 * gives the estimate R 8 * = 0.890, differing only slightly from the values R 8 * = 0.871 and R 8 * = 0.857 extracted from the results of lattice and field theory calculations.  相似文献

For a non-trivial Banach space X, let J(X), CNJ(X), C_(NJ)~(p)(X) respectively stand for the James constant, the von Neumann–Jordan constant and the generalized von Neumann–Jordan constant recently inroduced by Cui et al. In this paper, we discuss the relation between the James and the generalized von Neumann–Jordan constants, and establish an inequality between them: C_(NJ)~(p)(X) ≤J(X) with p ≥ 2, which covers the well-known inequality CNJ(X) ≤ J(X). We also introduce a new constant, from which we establish another inequality that extends a result of Alonso et al.  相似文献

It is shown that if P m α,β (x) (α, β > ?1, m = 0, 1, 2, …) are the classical Jaboci polynomials, then the system of polynomials of two variables {Ψ mn α,β (x, y)} m,n=0 r = {P m α,β (x)P n α,β (y)} m, n=0 r (r = m + nN ? 1) is an orthogonal system on the set Ω N×N = ?ub;(x i , y i ) i,j=0 N , where x i and y i are the zeros of the Jacobi polynomial P n α,β (x). Given an arbitrary continuous function f(x, y) on the square [?1, 1]2, we construct the discrete partial Fourier-Jacobi sums of the rectangular type S m, n, N α,β (f; x, y) by the orthogonal system introduced above. We prove that the order of the Lebesgue constants ∥S m, n, N α,β ∥ of the discrete sums S m, n, N α,β (f; x, y) for ?1/2 < α, β < 1/2, m + nN ? 1 is O((mn) q + 1/2), where q = max?ub;α,β?ub;. As a consequence of this result, several approximate properties of the discrete sums S m, n, N α,β (f; x, y) are considered.  相似文献

A subgroup is called c-semipermutable in G if A has a minimal supplement T in G such that for every subgroup T 1 of T there is an element xT satisfying AT 1 x = T 1 x A. We obtain a few results about the c-semipermutable subgroups and use them to determine the structures of some finite groups.  相似文献

Let G be a 2-edge-connected simple graph on n vertices. For an edge e = uvE(G), define d(e) = d(u) + d(v). Let F denote the set of all simple 2-edge-connected graphs on n ≥ 4 vertices such that GF if and only if d(e) + d(e’) ≥ 2n for every pair of independent edges e, e’ of G. We prove in this paper that for each GF, G is not Z 3-connected if and only if G is one of K 2,n?2, K 3,n?3, K 2,n?2 + , K 3,n?3 + or one of the 16 specified graphs, which generalizes the results of X. Suppose that a locally compact group G acts freely and properly on the right of a locally compact space T. Rieffel proved that if α is an action of G on a C *-algebra A and there is an equivariant embedding of C 0(T) in M(A), then the action α of G on A is proper, and the crossed product \(A\rtimes_{\alpha,r}G\) is Morita equivalent to a generalised fixed-point algebra \({\operatorname{\mathtt{Fix}}}(A,\alpha)\) in M(A) α . We show that the assignment \((A,\alpha)\mapsto{\operatorname{\mathtt{Fix}}}(A,\alpha)\) extends to a functor \({\operatorname{\mathtt{Fix}}}\) on a category of C *-dynamical systems in which the isomorphisms are Morita equivalences, and that Rieffel’s Morita equivalence implements a natural isomorphism between a crossed-product functor and \({\operatorname{\mathtt{Fix}}}\). From this, we deduce naturality of Mansfield imprimitivity for crossed products by coactions, improving results of Echterhoff-Kaliszewski-Quigg-Raeburn and Kaliszewski-Quigg-Raeburn, and naturality of a Morita equivalence for graph algebras due to Kumjian and Pask.  相似文献

Let {p n (t)} n=0 t8 be a system of algebraic polynomials orthonormal on the segment [?1, 1] with a weight p(t); let {x n,ν (p) } ν=1 n be zeros of a polynomial p n (t) (x x,ν (p) = cosθ n,ν (p) ; 0 < θ n,1 (p) < θ n,2 (p) < ... < θ n,n (p) < π). It is known that, for a wide class of weights p(t) containing the Jacobi weight, the quantities θ n,1 (p) and 1 ? x n,1 (p) coincide in order with n ?1 and n ?2, respectively. In the present paper, we prove that, if the weight p(t) has the form p(t) = 4(1 ? t 2)?1{ln2[(1 + t)/(1 ? t)] + π 2}?1, then the following asymptotic formulas are valid as n → ∞:
$$\theta _{n,1}^{(p)} = \frac{{\sqrt 2 }}{{n\sqrt {\ln (n + 1)} }}\left[ {1 + {\rm O}\left( {\frac{1}{{\ln (n + 1)}}} \right)} \right],x_{n,1}^{(p)} = 1 - \left( {\frac{1}{{n^2 \ln (n + 1)}}} \right) + O\left( {\frac{1}{{n^2 \ln ^2 (n + 1)}}} \right).$$

The paper considers cubature formulas for calculating integrals of functions f(X), X = (x 1, …, x n ) which are defined on the n-dimensional unit hypercube K n = [0, 1] n and have integrable mixed derivatives of the kind \(\partial _{\begin{array}{*{20}c} {\alpha _1 \alpha _n } \\ {x_1 , \ldots , x_n } \\ \end{array} } f(X)\), 0 ≤ α j ≤ 2. We estimate the errors R[f] = \(\smallint _{K^n } \) f(X)dX ? Σ k = 1 N c k f(X(k)) of cubature formulas (c k > 0) as functions of the weights c k of nodes X(k) and properties of integrable functions. The error is estimated in terms of the integrals of the derivatives of f over r-dimensional faces (rn) of the hypercube K n : |R(f)| ≤ \(\sum _{\alpha _j } \) G j )\(\int_{K^r } {\left| {\partial _{\begin{array}{*{20}c} {\alpha _1 \alpha _n } \\ {x_1 , \ldots , x_n } \\ \end{array} } f(X)} \right|} \) dX r , where coefficients G j ) are criteria which depend only on parameters c k and X(k). We present an algorithm to calculate these criteria in the two- and n-dimensional cases. Examples are given. A particular case of the criteria is the discrepancy, and the algorithm proposed is a generalization of those used to compute the discrepancy. The results obtained can be used for optimization of cubature formulas as functions of c k and X(k).  相似文献

Frankl and Füredi in [1] conjectured that the r-graph with m edges formed by taking the first m sets in the colex ordering of N(r) has the largest Lagrangian of all r-graphs with m edges. Denote this r-graph by C r,m and the Lagrangian of a hypergraph by λ(G). In this paper, we first show that if \(\leqslant m \leqslant \left( {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}}t \\ 3 \end{array}} \right)\), G is a left-compressed 3-graph with m edges and on vertex set [t], the triple with minimum colex ordering in G c is (t ? 2 ? i)(t ? 2)t, then λ(G) ≤ λ(C 3,m ). As an implication, the conjecture of Frankl and Füredi is true for \(\left( {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}}t \\ 3\end{array}} \right) - 6 \leqslant m \leqslant \left( {\begin{array}{*{20}{c}}t \\ 3\end{array}} \right)\).  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. The prime graph Γ(G) of G is defined as follows. The vertices of Γ(G) are the primes dividing the order of G and two distinct vertices p and p′ are joined by an edge if there is an element in G of order pp′. We denote by k(Γ(G)) the number of isomorphism classes of finite groups H satisfying Γ(G) = Γ(H). Given a natural number r, a finite group G is called r-recognizable by prime graph if k(Γ(G)) =  r. In Shen et al. (Sib. Math. J. 51(2):244–254, 2010), it is proved that if p is an odd prime, then B p (3) is recognizable by element orders. In this paper as the main result, we show that if G is a finite group such that Γ(G) = Γ(B p (3)), where p > 3 is an odd prime, then \({G\cong B_p(3)}\) or C p (3). Also if Γ(G) = Γ(B 3(3)), then \({G\cong B_3(3), C_3(3), D_4(3)}\), or \({G/O_2(G)\cong {\rm Aut}(^2B_2(8))}\). As a corollary, the main result of the above paper is obtained.  相似文献

An edge-coloring of a graph G is an assignment of colors to all the edges of G. A g c -coloring of a graph G is an edge-coloring of G such that each color appears at each vertex at least g(v) times. The maximum integer k such that G has a g c -coloring with k colors is called the g c -chromatic index of G and denoted by \(\chi\prime_{g_{c}}\)(G). In this paper, we extend a result on edge-covering coloring of Zhang and Liu in 2011, and give a new sufficient condition for a simple graph G to satisfy \(\chi\prime_{g_{c}}\)(G) = δ g (G), where \(\delta_{g}\left(G\right) = min_{v\epsilon V (G)}\left\{\lfloor\frac{d\left(v\right)}{g\left(v\right)}\rfloor\right\}\).  相似文献

The paper discusses the asymptotic depth of a reversible circuits consisting of NOT, CNOT and 2-CNOT gates. The reversible circuit depth function D(n, q) is introduced for a circuit implementing a mapping f: Z2n → Z2n as a function of n and the number q of additional inputs. It is proved that for the case of implementation of a permutation from A(Z2n) with a reversible circuit having no additional inputs the depth is bounded as D(n, 0) ? 2n/(3log2n). It is also proved that for the case of transformation f: Z2n → Z2n with a reversible circuit having q0 ~ 2n additional inputs the depth is bounded as D(n,q0) ? 3n.  相似文献

Let S α * be the familiar class of normalized starlike functions of order α in the unit disk. In this paper, we establish the Fekete and Szegö inequality for the class S α * , and then we generalize this result to the unit ball in a complex Banach space or on the unit polydisk in C n .  相似文献

We present an equivalence theorem, which includes all known characterizations of the class B p , i.e., the weight class of Ariño and Muckenhoupt, and also some new equivalent characterizations. We also give equivalent characterizations for the classes B p * , B * and RB p , and prove and apply a “gluing lemma” of independent interest.  相似文献

Let R be a subring ring of Q. We reserve the symbol p for the least prime which is not a unit in R; if R ?Q, then p=∞. Denote by DGL n np , n≥1, the category of (n-1)-connected np-dimensional differential graded free Lie algebras over R. In [1] D. Anick has shown that there is a reasonable concept of homotopy in the category DGL n np . In this work we intend to answer the following two questions: Given an object (L(V), ?) in DGL n 3n+2 and denote by S(L(V), ?) the class of objects homotopy equivalent to (L(V), ?). How we can characterize a free dgl to belong to S(L(V), ?)? Fix an object (L(V), ?) in DGL n 3n+2 . How many homotopy equivalence classes of objects (L(W), δ) in DGL n 3n+2 such that H * (W, d′)?H * (V, d) are there? Note that DGL n 3n+2 is a subcategory of DGL n np when p>3. Our tool to address this problem is the exact sequence of Whitehead associated with a free dgl.  相似文献
