Artin's braid groups currently provide a promising background for cryptographical applications, since the first cryptosystems using braids were introduced in [I. Anshel, M. Anshel, D. Goldfeld, An algebraic method for public-key cryptography, Math. Res. Lett. 6 (1999) 287-291, I. Anshel, M. Anshel, B. Fisher, D. Goldfeld, New key agreement schemes in braid group cryptography, RSA 2001, K.H. Ko, S.J. Lee, J.H. Cheon, J.W. Han, J.S. Kang, C. Park, New public-key cryptosystem using braid groups, Crypto 2000, pp. 166-184] (see also [V.M. Sidelnikov, M.A. Cherepnev, V.Y. Yashcenko, Systems of open distribution of keys on the basis of noncommutative semigroups, Ross. Acad. Nauk Dokl. 332-5 (1993); English translation: Russian Acad. Sci. Dokl. Math. 48-2 (1194) 384-386]). A variety of key agreement protocols based on braids have been described, but few authentication or signature schemes have been proposed so far. We introduce three authentication schemes based on braids, two of them being zero-knowledge interactive proofs of knowledge. Then we discuss their possible implementations, involving normal forms or an alternative braid algorithm, called handle reduction, which can achieve good efficiency under specific requirements.  相似文献

In this paper we describe the main characteristics of the macroscopic model for pedestrian flows introduced in [R.M. Colombo, M.D. Rosini, Pedestrian flows and non-classical shocks, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 28 (13) (2005) 1553-1567] and recently sperimentally verified in [D. Helbing, A. Johansson, H.Z. Al-Abideen, Dynamics of crowd disasters: An empirical study, Phys. Rev. E (Statistical, Nonlinear, and Soft Matter Physics) 75 (4) (2007) 046109]. After a detailed study of all the possible wave interactions, we prove the existence of a weighted total variation that does not increase after any interaction. This is the main ingredient used in [R.M. Colombo, M.D. Rosini, Existence of nonclassical Cauchy problem modeling pedestrian flows, technical report, Brescia Department of Mathematics, 2008] to tackle the Cauchy problem through wave front tracking, see [A. Bressan, Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws. The One-Dimensional Cauchy Problem, Oxford Lecture Ser. Math. Appl., vol. 20, Oxford Univ. Press, Oxford, 2000, The one-dimensional Cauchy problem; A. Bressan, The front tracking method for systems of conservation laws, in: C.M. Dafermos, E. Feireisl (Eds.), Handbook of Differential Equations; Evolutionary Equations, vol. 1, Elsevier, 2004, pp. 87-168; R.M. Colombo, Wave front tracking in systems of conservation laws, Appl. Math. 49 (6) (2004) 501-537]. From the mathematical point of view, this model is one of the few examples of conservation laws in which nonclassical solutions have a physical motivation, see [P.G. Lefloch, Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws, Lectures Math. ETH Zürich, Birkhäuser, Basel, 2002, The theory of classical and nonclassical shock waves], and an existence result is available.  相似文献

We study the existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior, as well as the stability of a special kind of traveling wave solutions for competitive PDE systems involving intrinsic growth, competition, crowding effects and diffusion. The traveling waves are exclusive in the sense that as the variable goes to positive or negative infinity, different species are close to extinction or carrying capacity. We perform an appropriate affine transformation of the traveling wave equations into monotone form and construct appropriate upper and lower solutions. By this means, we reduce the existence proof to application of well-known theory about monotone traveling wave systems (cf. [A. Leung, Systems of Nonlinear Partial Differential Equations: Applications to Biology and Engineering, MIA, Kluwer, Boston, 1989; J. Wu, X. Zou, Traveling wave fronts of reaction-diffusion systems with delay, J. Dynam. Differential Equations 13 (2001) 651-687] and [I. Volpert, V. Volpert, V. Volpert, Traveling Wave Solutions of Parabolic Systems, Transl. Math. Monogr., vol. 140, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 1994]). Then, by using spectral analysis of the linearization over the profile, we prove the orbital stability of the traveling wave in some Banach spaces with exponentially weighted norm. Furthermore, we show that the introduction of some weight is necessary in the sense that, in general, traveling wave solutions with initial perturbations in the (unweighted) space C0 are unstable (cf. [I. Volpert, V. Volpert, V. Volpert, Traveling Wave Solutions of Parabolic Systems, Transl. Math. Monogr., vol. 140, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 1994] and [D. Henry, Geometric Theory of Semilinear Parabolic Equations, Lecture Notes in Math., vol. 840, Springer-Verlag, New York, 1981]).  相似文献

A study of lattices of subgroups or subrings adequate for non-commutative homological algebra can be pursued in a setting of weakly exact categories, which extend the Puppe-exact ones [D. Puppe, Korrespondenzen in abelschen Kategorien, Math. Ann. 148 (1962) 1-30; B. Mitchell, Theory of Categories, Academic Press, New York, 1965; P. Freyd, A. Scedrov, Categories, Allegories, North-Holland Publishing Co., Amsterdam, 1990] and the semi-abelian ones [G. Janelidze, L. Márki, W. Tholen, Semi-abelian categories, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 168 (2002) 367-386; F. Borceux, A survey of semi-abelian categories, in: Galois Theory, Hopf Algebras, and Semiabelian Categories, in: Fields Inst. Commun., vol. 43, Amer. Math. Soc., Providence, RI, 2004, pp. 27-60; F. Borceux, D. Bourn, Mal’cev, Protomodular, homological and semi-abelian categories, in: Mathematics and its Applications, vol. 566, Kluwer Academic Publishers, Dordrecht, 2004], and are essentially based on a notion of γ-category introduced by Burgin [M.S. Burgin, Categories with involution and correspondences in γ-categories, Tr. Mosk. Mat. Obs. 22 (1970) 161-228; Trans. Moscow Math. Soc. 22 (1970) 181-257]. In this context, subobjects form w-modular w-lattices, equipped with a normality relation. The free w-modular w-lattice generated by two chains with normality conditions is determined and proved to be weakly distributive, by a construction inspired by the well-known Birkhoff theorem for free modular lattices [G. Birkhoff, Lattice Theory, 3rd ed., in: Amer. Math. Soc. Coll. Publ., vol. 25, 1973]. We show that this theorem is relevant for the study of double filtrations, much in the same way as the Birkhoff theorem in the commutative case; similarly, it should be of use in the study of spectral sequences.  相似文献

This paper develops the recursive model for connective rules (as proposed in V. Cutello, E. Molina, J. Montero, Associativeness versus recursiveness, in: Proceedings of the 26th IEEE International Symposium on Multiple-valued Logic, Santiago de Compostela, Spain, 29–31 May, 1996, pp. 154–159; V. Cutello, E. Molina, J. Montero, Binary operators and connective rules, in: M.H. Smith, M.A. Lee, J. Keller, J. Yen (Eds.), Proceedings of NAFIPS 96, North American Fuzzy Information Processing Society, IEEE Press, Piscataway, NJ, 1996, pp. 46–49), where a particular solution in the Ordered Weighted Averaging (OWA) context (see V. Cutello, J. Montero, Recursive families of OWA operators, in: P.P. Bonissone (Ed.), Proceedings of the Third IEEE Conference on Fuzzy Systems, IEEE Press, Piscataway, NJ, 1994, pp. 1137–1141; V. Cutello, J. Montero, Recursive connective rules, International Journal of Intelligent Systems, to appear) was translated into a more general framework. In this paper, some families of solutions for the key recursive equation are obtained, based upon the general associativity equation as solved by K. Mak (Coherent continuous systems and the generalized functional equation of associativity, Mathematics of Operations Research 12 (1987) 597–625). A context for the representation of families of binary connectives is given, allowing the characterization of key families of connective rules.  相似文献

We discuss a general notion of similarity function between two sequences which is based on their common subsequences. This notion arises in some applications of molecular biology [A.G. D'yachkov, P.L. Erdos, A.J. Macula, V.V. Rykov, D.C. Torney, C.-S. Tung, P.A. Vilenkin, and P.S. White, Exordium for DNA codes, Journal of Combinatorial Optimization 7 (4) (2003)]. We introduce the concept of similarity codes and study the logarithmic asymptotics for the size of optimal codes. Our mathematical results announced in [A.G. D'yachkov, D.C. Torney, P.A. Vilenkin, and P.S.White, On a class of codes for the insertion-deletion metric, Proc. of ISIT–2002, Lausanne, Switzerland, July 2002] correspond to the longest common subsequence (LCS) similarity function [V.I. Levenshtein, Binary codes capable of correcting deletions, insertions, and reversals, J. Soviet Phys.—Doklady, 10, 707–710, 1966] which leads to a special subclass of these codes called reverse-complement (RC) similarity codes. RC codes for additive similarity functions have been studied in previous papers [A.G. D'yachkov and D.C. Torney, On similarity codes, IEEE Trans. Inform. Theory 46 (4) (2000) 1558–1564], [A.G. Then a characterization of global solutions is made on this ground. Enough conditions to assure existence of global smooth solutions are given and related to nullity of integral characteristic numbers of the boundaries. Stability of global solutions are related to some characteristic numbers of the space-like Cauchy data. Global solutions of variational problems constrained by (NS) are classified by means of suitable integral bordism groups too.  相似文献

Certain almost periodic perturbation systems are considered in this paper. By using the roughness theory of exponential dichotomies and the contraction mapping principle, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solution of the above systems. Our results generalize those in [J.K. Hale, Ordinary Differential Equations, Krieger, Huntington, 1980; C. He, Existence of almost periodic solutions of perturbation systems, Ann. The paper “Euclidean algorithms are Gaussian” [V. Baladi, B. Vallée, Euclidean algorithm are Gaussian, J. Number Theory 110 (2005) 331-386], is devoted to the distributional analysis of three variants of Euclidean algorithms. The Central Limit Theorem and the Local Limit Theorem obtained there are the first ones in the context of the “dynamical analysis” method. The techniques developed have been applied in further various works (e.g. [V. Baladi, A. Hachemi, A local limit theorem with speed of convergence for Euclidean algorithms and Diophantine costs, Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré Probab. Statist. 44 (2008) 749-770; E. Cesaratto, J. Clément, B. Daireaux, L. Lhote, V. Maume, B. Vallée, Analysis of fast versions of the Euclid algorithm, in: Proceedings of Third Workshop on Analytic Algorithmics and Combinatorics, ANALCO'08, SIAM, 2008; E. Cesaratto, A. Plagne, B. Vallée, On the non-randomness of modular arithmetic progressions, in: Fourth Colloquium on Mathematics and Computer Science. Algorithms, Trees, Combinatorics and Probabilities, in: Discrete Math. Theor. Comput. Sci. Proc., vol. AG, 2006, pp. 271-288]). These theorems are proved first for an auxiliary probabilistic model, called “the smoothed model,” and after, the estimates are transferred to the “true” probabilistic model. In this note, we remark that “the smoothed model” described in [V. Baladi, B. Vallée, Euclidean algorithm are Gaussian, J. Number Theory 110 (2005) 331-386] is not adapted to this transfer and replaces it by an adapted one. However, the results remain unchanged.  相似文献
