从描述皮秒光脉冲在色散缓变光纤(FSDD)中所满足的非线性Schro¨dinger方程(NLS)出发,数值模拟了高阶皮秒脉冲在增益系数取值不同的色散缓变光纤中的孤子效应压缩,研究分析了增益系数所产生的影响。计算结果表明,对于孤子阶数确定的光脉冲,增益系数有一最佳取值范围,对应于孤子效应压缩的参量———脉冲压缩比有最佳值。讨论了初始啁啾的影响。  相似文献

The dynamics of short (of the order of a few wave periods) intense optical pulses and interaction of short optical solitons in fibers are considered within the framework of the third-order nonlinear Schrodinger equation. It is shown that an initial pulse tends to one or a few short solitons plus a linear quasiperiodic wave when the third-order linear dispersion and nonlinear dispersion have parameters of the same sign. The number and parameters of the solitons depend on the magnitudes of initial pulse parameters. Interaction of short optical solitons having different amplitudes is accompanied by radiation of part of the wave field from the area of interaction, by an increase of the soliton with larger amplitude, and a decrease of the soliton with a smaller one. 利用分步傅里叶变换法分别求解含三阶色散效应和不考虑三阶色散情况下的光孤子非线性薛定谔(NLS)方程,通过数值求解发现三阶色散效应会使孤子对脉冲发生单边振荡,并在振荡侧逐级产生次脉冲。讨论孤子对的两束孤子脉冲之间的振幅比与相位差对传输的影响,发现在不考虑三阶色散的情况下,振幅比与相位差均对孤子对的传输有显著影响,在考虑三阶色散效应时,只有相位差对孤子对的传输产生影响,并可以导致脉冲能量转移。  相似文献

由于光孤子在光纤中传输受到啁啾效应等多种因素的影响 ,使孤子脉宽展宽 ,光脉冲在终端变得不可检测 ,严重影响误码率 ,所以研究不同因素对孤子脉宽的影响有其重要意义。本文求解了色散缓变光纤中含频率非线性啁啾效应的NLS方程 ,由得到的孤子解讨论了非线性啁啾效应和色散缓变效应对孤子脉宽的影响 ,由此说明 ,色散缓减效应等效长距离分布参数光纤放大器的增益 ,它导致非线性效应增加 ,孤子进一步被压缩 ,非线性啁啾效应使孤子在z值较小时 ,其脉宽收缩 ,在z值较大时又使孤子脉宽展宽。  相似文献

从非线性Schrdinger方程出发,应用数学解析的方法,详细讨论了在饱和非线性介质中(2+1)维空间光学孤子存在满足物理意义的自洽解的条件,给出数值计算所需要的边界条件。通过数值计算,给出了基模和一阶模在某一组参数下的部分模式的光场慢变包络、光强度的二维和三维分布的直观图形,以及相应能量(无量纲)。结果表明,孤子的存在不是任意的,而是依赖于一定的能量。当光脉冲能量不足以支持孤子的存在时,其解呈振荡形式,说明不存在孤子解。同时还给出介质的饱和参数、孤子在传播方向上的波矢k对孤子模式的影响等有意义的结论。  相似文献

The dynamics of nonlinear pulse propagation in an average dispersion-managed soliton system is governed by a constant coefficient nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation. For a special set of parameters the constant coefficient NLS equation is completely integrable. The same constant coefficient NLS equation is also applicable to optical fiber systems with phase modulation or pulse compression. We also investigate MI arising in the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation for ultrashort pulse propagation. Within this framework, we derive ordinary differential equations (ODE’s) for the time evolution of the amplitude and phase of modulation perturbations. Analyzing the ensuing ODE’s, we derive the classical modulational instability criterion and identify it numerically. We show that the quintic nonlinearity can be essential for the stability of solutions. The evolutions of modulational instability are numerically investigated and the effects of the quintic nonlinearity on the evolutions are examined. Numerical simulations demonstrate the validity of the analytical predictions.  相似文献

We present the results of numerical study of the evolution of wave packets and envelope soliton interaction in terms of the third-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It is shown that an arbitrary initial pulse evolves to a few solitons and a linear quasiperiodic wave. The interaction of solitons is accompanied by the radiation of part of the wave field in the form of a linear quasiperiodic wave from the interaction region, amplification of the soliton with larger amplitude and attenuation of the soliton with smaller amplitude.  相似文献

We investigate the nonlinear tunneling of optical solitons through both dispersion and nonlinear barriers by employing the exact solution of the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation with variable coefficients. The extensive numerical simulations show that the optical solitons can be efficiently compressed when they pass through adequate engineered nonlinear barriers. A cascade compression system in a dispersion decreasing fiber with nonlinear barriers on an exponential background is proposed and the cascade compression of optical pulses is further investigated in detail. Finally, the stability to various initial perturbations of the cascade compressed optical soliton and the interaction between two neighboring compressed solitons were investigated too.  相似文献

A way of soliton self-formation upon propagation of femtosecond light pulses through an optical fiber with a cubic nonlinearity is described with allowance for the dispersion of the nonlinear response of the medium. For soliton formation to occur, a low-frequency phase modulation of the initial pulse is necessary. Several solitons formed in this way differ in both maximal intensities and group velocities. The duration of an individual soliton may be several (up to ten) times smaller than the initial duration of the input pulse.  相似文献

本文采用考虑拉曼增益的耦合非线性薛定谔方程,利用分步傅里叶方法求解并仿真模拟了光孤子脉冲在不同性质的双折射光纤中传输时的演化过程.结果表明,拉曼增益可以有效抑制非线性耦合导致的孤子漂移,同时会导致光孤子脉冲峰值在传输时不断增大,产生拉曼放大效应.拉曼增益也可以有效抑制双折射光纤中传输的相邻光孤子之间的相互作用.  相似文献

根据超短脉冲在光纤中传输所遵从的高阶非线性薛定谔方程,采用分步傅里叶方法模拟了超高斯型超短脉冲在光纤中的传输演化.在零色散区对损耗、高阶色散、高阶非线性、啁啾等因素对光脉冲传输的影响进行分析并得出了一些结论:损耗对传输脉冲的形状影响比较小基本上可以忽略,对脉冲的幅度影响比较大.一阶孤子传输一段距离后稳定时的幅度和脉宽在传输时基本不变,是进行光孤子通信的理想载体,而高阶孤子在开始传输和传输过程中的幅度和脉宽变化较大.当这些因素共同作用时,对脉冲的传输特性有较大的影响.但通过合理的选择各个影响因素的参量,能得到一个比较适于信息传输的高阶孤子脉冲.这对通过提高入射光脉冲功率使光脉冲在光纤中形成高阶孤子来提高两光中继器之间的中继距离的研究有一定的参考意义.  相似文献

To analyze pulse dynamics in an optical system consisting of a periodic sequence of nonlinear media, a composite model is used. It includes a model of the resonance interaction of an ultrashort light pulse with the energy transition of the medium with allowance made for an upper level pump and an almost integrable model that describes the propagation of the light field in the other medium with a cubic nonlinearity and dispersion. Additional allowance is made for losses and other kinds of interaction by introducing perturbation terms. On the bases of the inverse scattering transform and perturbation theory, a simple method for analyzing specific features of soliton evolution in periodic systems of this kind is developed. It is used to describe various modes of soliton evolution in such a system, including chaotic dynamics.  相似文献

We present the theory of electrostrictional interaction of soliton pulses in optical fibers. Solitons excite acoustic waves propagating in the direction transverse to the fiber axis. Scattering of optical radiation on these waves leads to a timing jitter of the optical pulses arrival time. We consider this effect as nonlinear self-scattering of light on acoustic waves. Because of the fact that a value of acoustic lifetime can reach a value of about 100 ns self-scattering on acoustic waves can be observed for a single optical pulse as well as for an optical pulse sequence as a whole. The value of single soliton self-frequency shift due to excitation of acoustic waves as a function of soliton duration have been obtained. For soliton duration sol > 14 ps an acoustic wave soliton self-frequency shift is larger than the Raman soliton self-frequency shift.The obtained theoretical results describe well the long-range interaction of soliton pulse trains in an optical fiber. The value of bit error rate due to electrostrictional interaction of optical pulses in high bit rate, ultra long soliton communication systems have been obtained.  相似文献

We propose a novel optical system that can be used to trap (store) light coherently. The system consists of two micro and a nano-ring resonators that can be integrated into a single system, which can be employed to generate the large bandwidth by a soliton pulse within a Kerr type nonlinear medium. The balance between dispersion and nonlinear lengths of the soliton pulse exhibits the soliton behavior known as self-phase modulation, which introduces the optical output (i.e. gain) constant, which means that light pulse can be trapped, i.e. localized coherently within the nano-waveguide. The time independent soliton pulse is adiabatically localized within the nano-ring device. Results obtained have shown that the trapping of the localized temporal and spatial soliton pulses is achieved.  相似文献

采用时间转换法研究了周期量级飞秒脉冲电场在非线性克尔介质中的传输.由于周期量级飞秒脉冲电场的脉宽小于介质拉曼响应的特征时间,在传输过程中脉冲电场会发生剧烈的变形和分裂,并在频谱上观察到了强烈的拉曼感应频移和色散波.由于周期量级脉冲电场依赖于载波包络相位,发现在脉冲电场传输过程中,主脉冲电场和色散波电场的相位线性地依赖于初始脉冲的载波包络相位.  相似文献

采用两段级联单模光纤对高阶孤子脉冲进行压缩。两段光纤具有不同的反常色散值,当高阶孤子脉冲在第一段光纤中获得最大程度压缩时,通过转换色散值不同的光纤,使压缩脉冲继续以高阶孤子的形式在第二段光纤中再次被压缩。每段光纤的长度都进行了优化,使得脉冲在每段光纤中都获得最大程度的压缩。基于非线性薛定谔方程,数值研究了初始啁啾对高阶孤子脉冲压缩的影响。研究结果表明,初始啁啾对高阶孤子脉冲的压缩有重要影响。与无初始啁啾时的情形相比,正的初始啁啾能增强每段光纤中脉冲的压缩效果,降低压缩脉冲的基座能量,而负初始啁啾的影响则相反。随着初始啁啾参量Cp的增大,脉冲在每段光纤中的压缩因子均增加,而基座能量、最优光纤长度均减小。  相似文献

We study the supercontinuum process in optical fibers numerically for a variety of dispersion profiles to investigate how a specific dispersion profile controls the emission of dispersive waves. We conclude that the number of zero-dispersion points in the dispersion profile of a fiber is an excellent predictor of the dispersive-wave peaks when it is pumped with femtosecond pulses in the anomalous dispersion regime. Our study reveals that two or more such peaks can form on the same side of the input wavelength in specially designed and practically achievable dispersion profiles. We show that dispersive waves are emitted even in the case of normal dispersion where soliton fission does not occur. We suggest that a phenomenon related to soliton spectral tunneling is responsible for this radiation. Distinct dispersive peaks may also appear when an optical pulse, launched in the normal dispersion region, later begins to propagate in the anomalous dispersion regime because of its spectral broadening. Several dispersion profiles are numerically employed to show how the soliton fission process creates non-solitonic radiation even under normal dispersion pumping. A time-domain picture clearly shows this radiation when the conventional phase matching condition is satisfied. We also propose a realistic photonic crystal fiber with a dispersion profile that supports dispersive-wave generation in the normal-dispersion region. Our study should prove useful for experiments designed to control the generation of blue light by launching femtosecond pulses into optical fibers.  相似文献

We present new type of Dark-in-the-Bright solution also called dipole soliton for the higher order nonlinear Schrödinger (HNLS) equation with non-Kerr nonlinearity under some parametric conditions and subject to constraint relation among the parameters in optical context. This equation could be a model equation of pulse propagation beyond ultrashort range in optical communication systems. The solitary wave solution is composed of the product of bright and dark solitary waves. This type of pulse shape to be formed both the group velocity dispersion and third-order dispersion must be compensated. We also investigated the stability of the solitary wave solution under some initial perturbation on the parametric conditions. We have shown that the shape of pulse remains unchanged up to 20 normalized lengths even under some very small violation in parametric conditions.  相似文献
